  • Here, we introduce a laser-induced graphene synthesis technology and its applications for the electric/electronic device manufacturing process. Recently, the micro/nanopatterning technique of graphene has received great attention for the utilization of these new graphene structures, which shows progress developments at present with a variety of uses in electronic devices. Some examples of practical applications suggested a great potential for the tunable graphene synthetic manners through the control of the laser set-up, such as a selection of the wavelength, power adjustment, and optical techniques. This emerging technology has expandability to electric/electronic devices combined together with existed micro-packaging technology and can be integrated with the new processing steps to be applied for the operation in the fields of biosensors, supercapacitors, electrochemical sensors, etc. We believe that the laser-induced graphene technology introduced in this paper can be easily applied to portable small electronic devices and wearable electronics in the near future.

  • In this paper, a control system for a complex microbial incubator was proposed. The proposed control system consists of a control unit, a communication unit, a power supply unit, and a control system of the complex microbial incubator. The controller of the complex microbial incubator is designed and manufactured to convert analog signals and digital signals, and control signals of sensors such as displays using LCD panels, water level sensors, temperature sensors, and pH concentration sensors. The water level sensor used is designed and manufactured to enable accurate water level measurement by using the IR laser method with excellent linearity in order to solve the problem that existing water level sensors are difficult to measure due to foreign substances such as bubbles. The temperature sensor is designed and used so that it has high accuracy and no cumulative resistance error by measuring using the thermal resistance principle. The communication unit consists of two LAN ports and one RS-232 port, and is designed and manufactured to transmit signals such as LCD panel, PCT panel, and load cell controller used in the complex microbial incubator to the control unit. The power supply unit is designed and manufactured to supply power by configuring it with three voltage supply terminals such as 24V, 12V and 5V so that the control unit and communication unit can operate smoothly. The control system of the complex microbial incubator uses PLC to control sensor values such as pH concentration sensor, temperature sensor, and water level sensor, and the operation of circulation pump, circulation valve, rotary pump, and inverter load cell used for cultivation. In order to evaluate the performance of the control system of the proposed complex microbial incubator, the result of the experiment conducted by the accredited certification body showed that the range of water level measurement sensitivity was -0.41mm~1.59mm, and the range of change in water temperature was ±0.41℃, which is currently commercially available. It was confirmed that the product operates with better performance than the performance of the products. Therefore, the effectiveness of the control system of the complex microbial incubator proposed in this paper was demonstrated.

  • Pure ZnO and ZnO nanowires doped with 3 wt.% Ga (‘3GZO’) were grown by pulsed laser deposition in a furnace system. The doping of Ga in ZnO nanowires was analyzed by observing the optical and chemical properties of the doped nanowires. The diameter and length of nanowires were under 200 nm and several ${\mu}m$, respectively. Changes of significant resistance were observed and the sensitivities of ZnO and 3GZO nanowires were compared. The sensitivities of ZnO and 3GZO nanowire sensors measured at 300℃ for 1 ppm of ethanol gas were 97% and 48%, respectively.

  • It is very important to test linear cycle positioning accuracy of NC lathes as it affect all other machines machined by them in industries. For example, if the linear positioning accuracy of x or z-axis directions is bad, the size of works will be wrong and the change-ability will be bad in the assembly of machine parts. In this paper , measuring systems are organized to measure linear displacement of ATC(Automatic tool changer) of NC lathe using laser interferometer, magnescale and tick pulses coming out from computer in order to get data at constant time intervals from the sensors, And each set of data gotten from test is expressed to a plots by computer treatment and the results of linear positioning error motion is estimated to numerics by statistical treatments.

  • This paper is a study on the fuzzy force control of a miniature gripper driven by piezoelectric bimorph actuator. The system is composed of two flexible cantilevers, a stepping motor, a laser displacement transducer and two semiconductor force sensors attached to the beams. Obtained results show that the present artificial finger system works well as a miniature gripper, which produces approximately 0.06N force in the maximum. Further, the fuzzy position/force control algorithm is applied to the soft-handing gripper for stable grasping of a object. It revealed that the fuzzy rule-based controller be efficient controller for the stable drive of the flexible miniature gripper. It also showed that two semiconductor strain gauges located in the flexible beam play an important roles for force control, position control and vibration suppression control.

  • Nanotechnology is an important challenge, for which nanoparticle manipulation plays an important role in the assembly of nano elements. In this study, the dynamic equation of system plant is established by van der Waals force, friction, capillary forces etc. To push nanoparticles, strain gauges are used as sensors to actuate an X-Y stage in an atomic force microscopy system. A strategy of pushing nanoparticles is developed based on sliding mode control. Moreover, afuzzy controller is responsible for compensating tip-particle contact loss according to feedback signals of a laser-detector system. According to position control result, experimental results of gold nanoparticle manipulation are presented.

  • The growth and microwave plasma assisted nitrogen doping of ZnSe by low pressure organometallic vapor phase epitaxy(OMVPE) has been investigated in a vertical downflow reactor equipped with a laser interferometer for in-situ growth rate measurements. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding growth characteristics of $H_{2}Se$ and the new adduct source dimethylzinc:triethyllamine($DMZn:NEt_{3}$) as compared with those obtained with $H_{2}Se$ and DMZn. At lower temperatures ($<300^{\circ}C$) and pressures(<30Torr), growth rates are higher with the adduct source and the surface morphology is improved relative to films synthesized with DMZn. Hall measurements and photoluminescence spectra of the grown films demonstrate that DMZn and $DMZn:NEt_{3}$ produce material with comparable electronic and optical properties. Microwave plasma decomposition of ammonia is investigated as a possible approach to increasing nitrogen incorporation in ZnSe and photoluminescence spectra are compared to those realized with conventional ammonia doping.

  • Airborne LIDAR systems have been increasingly used for various applications as an effective surveying mean that can be complementary or alternative to the traditional one based on aerial photos. A LIDAR system is a multi-sensor system consisting of GPS, INS, and a laser scanner and hence the errors associated with the LIDAR data can be significantly affected by not only the errors associated with each individual sensor but also the errors involved in combining these sensors. The analysis about these errors have been performed by some researchers but yet insufficient so that the results can be critically contributed to performing accurate calibration of LIDAR data. In this study, we thus analyze these error sources, derive their mathematical models and perform the sensitivity analysis to assess how significantly each error affects the LIDAR data. The results from this sensitivity analysis in particular can be effectively used to determine the main parameters modelling the systematic errors associated with the LIDAR data for their calibration.

  • The nonlinear vibration of moving viscoelastic belts excited by the eccentricity of pulleys is investigated through experimental and analytical methods. Laboratory measurements demonstrate the nonlinearities in the responses of the belt particularly in the resonance region and with the variation of tension, The measurements of the belt motion are made using noncontact laser sensors. Jump and hysteresis phenomenon are observed experimentally and were studied with a model. which considers the nonlinear relation of belt stretch. An ordinary differential equation is derived as a working form of the belt equation of motion, Numerical results show good agreements with the experimental observations, which demonstrates the nonlinearity of viscoelastic moving belts.
