  • Laser direct patterning is one of new methods which are able to replace a conventional photolithography. In order reduce the fabrication cost and to improve the luminous efficiency of AC plasma display panels (PDPs), in this experiment, a Q-switched Nd:$YVO_4$ laser was used to fabricate T-shaped indium tin oxide (ITO) display electrodes. For the laser beam scanning speed from 100 mm/sec to 800 mm/sec, T-shaped ITO patterns were clearly obtained and investigated. The experimental results showed that the optimized T-shaped ITO electrode was obtained when the lasers scanning speed was 300 mm/s.

  • Particle accelerator has mainly used in nuclear field only because of the large scale of the facility. However, since laser-plasma particle accelerator which has smaller size and spends less cost developed, the availability of this accelerator is expended to various research fields such as industrial and medical. This paper suggests a visualization system to control the laser-plasma particle accelerator efficiently. This system offers real-time 3D images via convert HDF file comes from plasma data obtained from PIC simulation into OpenGL texture type to analyse and modify plasma data. After that, it stores high-resolution rendering images of the data with external renderer hereafter.

  • During laser welding, a laser induced matal vapour and plasuma is formed. The plasma shows strong fluctuation combined with acoustic sound emission. On-line monitoring of the process is possible by measuring and analysing the plasma and acoustic sound emission. This paper introduce the method of on line process monitoring in the laser beam welding and analysis being monitoring signal. The results show the complementary information on the process.

  • On the basis of the distribution of particle size measured by laser diffraction spectrometers, this research was carried out to investigate the characteristics of mist removal with the change of operating condition in the plasma reactor of impulse streamer corona. The operating parameters in this experiment were power of impulse streamer corona, gas velocity, impulse generation time, gas temperature, and SOx/NOx concentration. The collection efficiency T(d) was estimated by the distribution of particle size in the collection zone through the advanced model.

  • Furnace and laser is currently the most important doping process. However furnace is typically difficult appling for selective emitters. Laser requires an expensive equipment and induces a structural damage due to high temperature using laser. This study has developed a new atmospheric pressure plasma source and research atmospheric pressure plasma doping. Atmospheric pressure plasma source injected Ar gas is applied a low frequency (a few 10 kHz) and discharged the plasma. We used P type silicon wafers of solar cell. We set the doping parameter that plasma treatment time was 6s and 30s, and the current of making the plasma is 70 mA and 120 mA. As result of experiment, prolonged plasma process time and highly plasma current occur deeper doping depth and improve sheet resistance. We investigated doping profile of phosphorus paste by SIMS (Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy) and obtained the sheet resistance using generally formula. Additionally, grasped the wafer surface image with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) to investigate surface damage of doped wafer. Therefore we confirm the possibility making the selective emitter of solar cell applied atmospheric pressure plasma doping with phosphorus paste.

  • Welding using lasers can be mass-produced in high speed. In the laser welding, performing real-time monitoring system of the welding quality is very important in enhancing the efficiency of welding. In this study, the plasma and molten metal which are generated during laser welding were measured using the UV sensor and IR sensors. The results of laser welding were classified into five categories such as optimal heat input, little low heat input, low heat input, partial joining due to gap mismatch, and nozzle deviation. Also, a system was formulated which uses the measured signals with a fuzzy pattern recognition method which is used to perform real-time evaluation of the welding quality and the defects which can occur in laser welding.

  • In this study, three-dimensional heat flow in laser beam welding for deep penetration was analyzed by using F.E.M common code, and then the results were compared with the experimental data. The models for analysis are full penetration welds and are made at three different laser powers (6, 9.9, 4.5 kW) with two different welding speeds (5.8mm/s, 5mm/s). The characteristics of thermal absorption by the workpiece during deep penetration laser welding can be represented by a combination of line heat source through the workpiece and distributed heat source at the top surface due to the plasma plume above the top surface. This gives an insight into the way in which the beam interacts with the material being welded. The analyses performed with the combined heat source models show comparatively good agreement between the experimental and calculated melt temperature isotherm, i.e, the fusion zone boundary. The results are used to explain the "nail head" appearance of fusion zone, which is quite common in laser beam welds.eam welds.

  • The study on laser-ablation plasmas has been strongly interested in fundamental aspects of laser-solid interaction and consequent plasma generation. In particular, this plasma has been widely used for the deposition of thin solid films and applied to the semiconductors and insulators. In this paper, we developed and discussed the generation of carbon ablation plasmas emitted by laser radiation on a solid target, graphite. The progress of carbon plasmas by laser-ablation was simulated using Monte-Carlo particle model under the pressures of vacuum, 1 Pa, 10 Pa and 66 Pa. At the results, carbon particles with low energy were deposited on the substrate as the pressure becomes higher However, there was no difference of deposition distributions of carbon particles on the substrate regardless of the pressure.
