고출력 Nd:YAG UV레이저를 이용한 polyimide층과 Cu-metal층의 가공상태에 대한 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Investigation for Ablation Characteristics of Polyimide Layer and Cu-metal Layer using High Power Nd:YAG UV Laser)

  • In this paper, the laser cutting characteristics of the flexible PCB using high power Nd:YAG UV laser were investigated. A specific FPCB model was selected for the experiment. Test sheets were made, which had equal materials and layer structure to those of the outline (OL) region and the contact pad (CP) region in the FPCB. The experiment is made up of two stages. In the first stage of the experiment, the laser cutting fluence was found, which is the threshold fluence to cut the test sheets completely. The laser cutting fluence of the OL sheet is $1781.26{\sim}1970.16\;J/cm^2$ and that of the CP sheet is $2109.34{\sim}2134.34\;J/cm^2$. In the second stage, cutting performance and its qualities were analyzed by the experiment. The laser cutting performance remained almost unchanged for all laser and process parameter sets. The average cutting width (top side/bottom side) of the OL sheet was $40.45\;{\mu}m/11.52\;{\mu}m$ and that of the CP sheet was $22.14\;{\mu}m/10.93\;{\mu}m$. However, the laser cutting qualities were different according to the parameters. The adjacent region of the cutting line on the OL sheet was carbonized as the beam speed was low and the overlap coefficient was high. The surface quality around the cutting line of the CP sheet was about the same. Carbonization and debris occurred on the surface of the cutting line. As a result of the experiment, the cutting qualities were better as the overlap coefficient was made low and beam speed high. Therefore, the overlap coefficient 2 or 3 is proper for the FPCB laser cutting.

Effect of the laser pulse on transient waves in a non-local thermoelastic medium under Green-Naghdi theory

  • This paper aims to study the effect of the elastic nonlocality on the transient waves in a two-dimensional thermoelastic medium influenced by thermal loading due to the laser pulse. The bounding plane surface is heated by a non-Gaussian laser beam. The problem is discussed under the Eringen's nonlocal elasticity model and the Green-Naghdi (G-N) theory with and without energy dissipation. The normal mode analysis method is used to get the exact expressions for the physical quantities which illustrated graphically by comparison and discussion. The effects of nonlocality and different values of time on the displacement, the stresses, and the temperature were made numerically. All the computed results obtained have been depicted graphically and explained.

  • In order to optimize the operational characteristics of single elliptical pulsed Nd:YAG laser designed and fabricator compactly, it is very important to design the resonator shape and the PFN(Pulse Forming Network) suitably. We have been shown that the EMTP(Electro-Magnetic Transient Program) simulation. was used effectively in designing PFN. And Next, we have been compared current pulse width, laser beam profile and damping parameter with laser output energy. In this paper, we have suggested the optimalization of PFN design and the best operational condition.

Response of Water Tetramer to Intense Femtosecond Laser Pulses

  • We theoretically study the dynamics of water tetramer in intense femtosecond laser pulses with different frequencies. The simulations are carried out by incorporating the molecular dynamics method non-adiabatically into the time-dependent local-density approximation (TDLDA-MD). Three typical scenarios of water tetramer including the normal vibration with enlarged OH bonds, free OH bonds breaking and the pure Coulomb explosion are presented by investigating the electronic and ionic dynamics. The result indicates that the ionization is enhanced and the corresponding fragmentation effect as well as the damping of the dipole moment are found more notably when increasing the laser frequency especially when the frequency falls in the resonant region of the absorption spectra. The study of the level depletion reveals that the ratio of the emission amount from different levels can be controlled by changing the laser frequency referring to the Keldysh parameter.

  • Modern NC machine tools require a more and more exact monitoring and control of cutting process. A very important parameter is tool wear used to optimize cutting data and to change tools at the right time. In this study, a real-time multi-tool fracture method is proposed for measuring crater from fringe patterns generated by uni-shadow-moire. An optical technique using laser for non-contact measurement of tool fracture is presented. The technology in which the tool is illuminated by a beam of He-Ne laser and then the image of tool fracture CCD camera.

Design of Connectivity Test Circuit for a Direct Printing Image Drum

  • This paper proposes an advanced test circuit for detecting the connectivity between a drum ring of laser printer and PCB. The detection circuit of charge sharing is proposed, which minimizes the influences of internal parasitic capacitances. The test circuit is composed of precharge circuit, analog comparator, level shifter. Its functional operation is verified using $0.6{\mu}m$ 3.3V/40V CMOS process parameter by HSPICE. Access time is100ns. Layout of the drum contact test circuit is $465{\mu}m\;{\times}\;117{\mu}m$.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the loss amount of collection at the different of precipitatation time, high voltage and gas speed. This work has focused on the dependence of the collection efficiency in the collector zone with gas speed and high voltage. This advanced Model is developed by research of the different parameter as the conventionnal modem of study. In order to investigate collection efficiency of electrostatic precipitator, the loss amount of knocking was measured with Monitek-Treubung and the particle size was analyzed by He-Ne laser diffraction spectroscopy.

  • Metal-Semiconductor-Metal type photodetector was fabricated with AlGaAs/InGaAs Quantum Well FET structures using simplified processing steps. The DC and RF responses were measured by 850nm wavelength injection laser. A DC responsivity in the quasisaturated regime was 0.45 A/W in CW measurements, and a bandwidth measured using a 850nm 40 ps pulsed laser was 16GHz. An electrical equivalent circuit model was extracted from measured S-parameter.
