  • The heavy duty diesel engine must have a large output for maintaining excellent mobility. The compacted graphite iron (CGI) is a material currently under study for the engine demanded for high torque, durability, stiffness and fatigue. In this study, three dimensional finite element model of a heavy-duty diesel engine was developed to conduct the stress analysis by using property of CGI. The FE model of the heavy duty diesel engine section consisting with four half cylinder was selected. The heavy duty diesel engine section include cylinder block, cylinder head, liner, bearing cap, bearing and bolt. The loading conditions of engine are pre-fit load, assembly force and gas force.

  • The investigation of UV absorbing compounds in saponin fraction of Pnm.1. Kiairnk root was carried out by thin layer chromatography, semipreparative HVLC. l3C, 1H-NMR, mass spectrometry and chemical characteristics in searching plant for growth regulatony substances such as phenolic glycoside. Drying of fresh ginseng at 15 $^{\circ}C$ decreased not only number but also size of UV absorbing sports on TLC. One of the relatively large spots in fresh ginseng was isolated and identified as adenosine, which is subjected for growth stimulatory activity Detection of phenolic glycosides failed in dried root bolt was highly probable in fresh ginseng even with the insufficient amount of sample.

  • There are two methods commonly used in design of splice plate connection of frame structure. The one is Design by Actual Stress which can sufficiently transfer actual force to an adjacent member using rows of bolts. The other is Design by Member Strength which is able to transfer total allowable stress of effective section area to a connected member. In real design, as a matter of convenience, Standard Connection Drawings have used according to Design by Member Strength. But this method underestimate connection force in shear connection where large connection moment occured. In this study, these Design methods are compared by connection moment in shear connections. and the adequate use of them are recommended. Also In order to evaluate more accurately the actual stress of splice plate of flange on moment. connection, a new calculation method of it is recommended.

  • This study is to summarize the contents for the investigation and design of the construction for oil storage. Since underground caverns are large scale, in their construction one should consider the mechanical stability of caverns and the economic view of construction. On the basis of them, cavern's section and layout were determined and water curtains were designed to maintain hydraulic equilibrium so that gases were sealed tightly. Also the supporting criterial for rock bolt and stotcrete were determined by means of the classification of rock masses and the results of finite element method. The criteria of grouting reinforcement were presented according to the results of injection test in the pilot holes of working face.

  • Finite element analysis and verification experiments were performed in order to find cause of defects such as folding and improper radius around the root area of the thread rolled stud bolts. Thread rolling experiments under several conditions were also carried out to understand the effect of process parameters, such as the rotation speed of the dies and the hardness of the work pieces, on the product quality. Folding defects at the top of thread are attributed to the higher hardness of the work piece and higher rotation speed of the rolling die. It was also found that the radius of screw mainly determined by the radius of the die.

  • The construction road work are increasing now. And the domestic slope construction are steadily increased and changed the complicated and large-scale. Therefore ground reinforcement for slope stabilization has been increasingly used during the past few decades with a wide variety of techniques including soil nailing, rock bolt, anchor and different types. But in some cases which applied slope reinforcement construction by badness or mistake. So this paper is the study of construction badness for slope reinforcement.

  • There have been lots of efforts to analyze the dynamic characteristics of mechanical systems. However, it is difficult to know the dynamic characteristics of mechanical systems composed of many parts with joints. Specially, in case of a bolted joint structure, no effective modeling method has been defined to acquire dynamic characteristics of the structure, using the finite element (FE) analysis. In this research, a linear dynamic model is developed for bolted joints and large interfaces using con frusta method and linear spring elements, respectively. The developed modeling method for bolted joints is verified based on the experimental result.

  • In track a third weakness point is joint part, turnout part, curve part. One of them joint part of rail have been known to the most weak point by loosen of joint bar and fish bolt due to impulse and vibration by wheel contact at times. In addition happen to deformation and failure at end of rail, failure and miniature of ballast gravel. Finally impact between wheel and rail become origin cause of a welded rail, noise and vibration. riding condition deterioration, besides track failure. In the present domestic, Thermite and Gas pressure weldings have been used to continuous welded rail(CWR), however stiffness and confidence in quality is lower than Flash butt welding method. FRW have the excellent capacity, however have a shortcoming large scale of machine and power equipment. Therefore we will introduce Mobile Flash Butt Welder can weld in track.

  • This paper presents a combined experimental and numerical study on stainless steel end-plate connections, with an emphasis placed on their ultimate behaviour and rotation capacity. In the experimental phase, six connection specimens made of austenitic and lean duplex stainless steels are tested under monotonic loads. The tests are specifically designed to examine the close-to-failure behaviour of the connections at large deformations. It is observed that the rotation capacity is closely related to fractures of the stainless steel bolts and end-plates. In the numerical phase, an advanced finite element model suitable for fracture simulation is developed. The incorporated constitutive and fracture models are calibrated based on the material tests of stainless steel bolts and plates. The developed finite element model exhibits a satisfactory accuracy in predicting the close-to-failure behaviour of the tested connections. Finally, the moment resistance and rotation capacity of stainless steel end-plate connections are assessed based on the experimental tests and numerical analyses.
