Many distributed and heterogeneous services and devices are accessible in ubiquitous computing environment, so interoperating those services and devices is one of the key tasks in implementing ubiquitous applications. We used to use script languages in integrating such interoperating components and services. However currently available most script languages are not suitable for ubiquitous environment because there are so diverse forms of interoperation targets such as service objects, web, legacy objects and programmable devices. So it is worthwhile designing a new script language well-suited to ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we propose a new script language, called Ubiscript, for the ubiquitous environment. We develop and adopt several unique language features such as remote scope, multiple contexts, web and legacy objects, remote exception handling, etc. in Ubiscript to overcome the limitations of conventional script languages. In this paper, we also describe the implementation of Ubiscript and its runtime system. A couple of ubiquitous applications were developed in Ubiscript, and the applications are tested on the runtime system. According to our experiences and evaluation, Ubiscript turned out to have a high potential in its expression power and contribution to improving ubiquitous application developers' productivity.

Laotzu's view of language is well expressed at the beginning stanza of "道可道 非常道" of Tao De Ching, the interpretation of which is pivotal for the proper interpretation of the entire text. Two lines of interpretation of this stanza have been proposed; The first view regards the letter "道" in "非常道" as representing that which is signified by a sign. The other takes the posture that the letter "道" is itself the signifier of the sign. I argue in this article that the second posture should be taken to interpret Tao De Ching properly, contrary to the traditional interpretation of this stanza, by pointing out the verses which inevitably contradict each other when interpreted according to the first view. The second view leads to the conclusion that everyday language is not sufficient enough to describe the supernatural beings, including Tao, accurately, and seeks a way to augment ordinary language for appropriate description of such supernatural beings. The strategy Laotzu adopts in Tao De Ching is to expand the expressive power of ordinary language by extensive use of metaphors. This paper discerns 4 conceptual metaphors in the sense of Johnson and Lakoff(1980) which underlie the metaphors used in Tao De Ching: (1) Tao is Void; (2) Tao is Mother; (3) Tao is Valley; and (4) Tao is Untrimmed Log.

William Shakespeare's dirge, "The Phoenix and the Turtle," is still a crux in the Shakespearean canon and interpretation. The poem is still believed a dark allegory dealing with some arcane and obscure courtly matters and politics. However, we cannot recover its allegorical significance. This interpretive situation enforces us to read the poem as a self-conscious artwork in terms of its paradoxical language and meta-poetic metaphors. Paradox, as a subspecies of metaphor, challenges categorical and judgmental absolutes, and produces a sense of wonder in reconciling the logically contradictory opposites. In this poem the urn containing the ashes of the phoenix and the turtle is the icon of the mysterious unity of art, born of the wonderful marriage of male and female. Shakespeare's poem demonstrates in itself the magical power of poetic language in transforming an elegy into an epithalamion. The union of the phoenix and the turtle defies the singularity of their respective entity, and at the same time it retains their distinctive particularity of the two-ness. This neo-Platonic mystery of the "married chastity" is a paradox which confounds reason and verifies the poetic truth of imaginative intellect. The marriage of Christian perichoresis is crystallized in the artwork of the urn, which is admired at by posterity, though the marriage was issueless, due to its passing virtue. "The Phoenix and the Turtle" depicts the metaphor-making process and its effect, the poem.

본 연구는 영아 기질, 어머니 양육행동, 교사-상호작용과 영아의 언어능력 간의 관계를 알아보고, 이들 변인이 영아의 언어능력을 예측해 주는 정도와 설명력에 대해 분석해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 25~36개윌 미만 영아 206명, 그들의 어머니, 교사를 대상으로 영아의 언어능력과 영아의 기질, 어머니 양육행동, 교사의 상호작용 행동을 알아보았으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 프로그램을 이용하여 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 어머니 양육행동, 교사의 상호작용은 영아의 언어능력과 통계적으로 유의미한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 영아의 기질은 하위변인인 활동성, 적응성, 반응강도에서만 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 영아의 언어능력에 대한 기질, 양육행동, 교사의 상호작용 행동의 상대적 설명력의 크기를 살펴본 결과, 교사의 상호작용 행동의 하위변인인 적극적인 활동참여가 가장 많은 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 다음으로는 영아 기질의 하위변인인 반응강도와 어머니 양육행동 하위변인인 합리적 지도 순으로 유의미한 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

W3C에서는 온톨로지의 표준언어로 OWL(Web Ontology Language)을 발표하였고 이를 활용한 온톨로지가 다양한 곳에 적용되어 구축되고 있다. 하지만, DL(Description Logic)기반인 OWL언어가 표현할 수 있는 규칙의 한계로 인하여 이를 화장하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 W3C에서는 OWL과 RuleML(Rule Markup Language)을 통합하여 규칙(Rule)에 대한 표현력이 더욱 향상된 SWRL(Semantic Web Rule Language) 언어를 제안하였다. 따라서 최근에는 온톨로지 구축을 위해 OWL과 SWRL언어가 함께 사용되기 시작하였다. 그러나 이렇게 통합적으로 구성된 온톨로지의 추론을 위한 방법에 대한 연구는 시작단계에 있다. 현재의 일반적인 방법은 OWL로 기술된 부분은 Racer등을 이용한 DL추론을 수행하고 SWRL로 기술된 부분은 Jess등을 이용한 Rule-base 추론이 병렬적으로 사용되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 OWL과 SWRL로 기술된 온톨로지를 추론하기 위한 엔진으로 Racer와 Jess의 병행이 아닌, Jess를 이용한 통합추론엔진의 개발에 관하여 기술한다. 이러한 시스템을 구축하기 위해 OWL을 Jess언어를 이용하여 추론할 수 있도록 개발된 OWL Jess KB와 SWRL 언어를 Jess 언어로 변환하는 SWRL Factory를 이용하는 세 가지 통합 추론 플랫폼을 제안한다.

This paper presents an application of UML(Unified Modeling Language) to develop the Transmission Loss Calculation Package (TLCP) and shows a feasibility of UML design for the power system analyzing software. In the rapidly restructuring electric power industry, it is required the development of efficient and transparent transmission pricing mechanism. This should be based to calculate an accurate transmission loss to prompt a fair competition and to give unbiased signals to all the market players. For those reasons, it is necessary to develop a software system for transmission loss calculation. In this paper, we design the TLCP based on UML, and describe using Rational Rose 2000.

IEC 61850 파트 6에는 변전소 구성 언어(SCL, Substation Configuration description Language)를 제시하고 있다. SCL은 XML(eXtensible Markup Language)을 기반으로 한 언어로서, 변전소 엔지니어링에 필요한 정보들을 제공한다. SCL 파일을 생성해주는 해외의 몇몇 제품이 개발되어 있으나, 사용자가 SCL 파일을 직접 확인해 봐야 할 때 보기 쉽게 분석해 주는 툴은 아직 없다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 SCL 파일을 보다 쉽게 확인할 수 있는 툴의 프로토타입을 구현하고 이를 소개한다.

In this paper new control strategy of series resonant converter system for control power supply is suggested. Frequency controlled series resonant converter system is robust to load variations because it is POSR(parallel output series resonant) type. And it provides stable output voltage by changing switching frequency to input voltage variations. Firstly, operation analysis about suggested series resonant converter system was carried. Then simulations using ACSL(Advanced Continuous Simulation Language) and experiments to actual system were carried to prove characteristics of suggested system.

전력계통을 계획, 운영, 검토, 해석하는데 있어서 가장 필요한 OPF(Optimal Power Flow)는 현재 다방면에서 새로운 알고리즘과 많은 수리적 방법을 통하여 접근하고 있다. 이들의 기반이 되는 조류계산은 많은 신뢰성들을 얻었지만, 현재 실무자 중심으로 구성되고 직접적으로 적절한 발전배분 상태를 계산하는 부분에서는 일부 한계성이 나타나고 있다. 이에 대해서 계속된 반복계산에 의한 최적의 계통 발전 배분상태에 근접한 값을 제시할 수 있는 프로그램을 PSS/E의 IPLAN을 통하여 개발하였다.

This paper deals with power electronic converter education program using LabVIEW. LabVIEW is a graphic based programming language with easy debugging, which is suitable for education program that can be used to study and figure out the operation of power electronic converters. When LabVIEW is employed as a simulation program of the operation of power electronic converters, the resulting program has the advantage such that the effects of the change of control variables and circuit parameters on the various variables such as the output voltage and the inductor current etc can be directly displayed without any separate compiling procedure. This paper shows the design procedure and the characteristics of the power electronics education program implemented by LabVIEW focusing on DC-DC converter among power electronic converters.
