Atmospheric Correction of Sentinel-2 Images Using Enhanced AOD Information

  • Accurate atmospheric correction is essential for the analysis of land surface and environmental monitoring. Aerosol optical depth (AOD) information is particularly important in atmospheric correction because the radiation attenuation by Mie scattering makes the differences between the radiation calculated at the satellite sensor and the radiation measured at the land surface. Thus, it is necessary to use high-quality AOD data for an appropriate atmospheric correction of high-resolution satellite images. In this study, we examined the Second Simulation of a Satellite Signal in the Solar Spectrum (6S)-based atmospheric correction results for the Sentinel-2 images in South Korea using raster AOD (MODIS) and single-point AOD (AERONET). The 6S result was overall agreed with the Sentinel-2 level 2 data. Moreover, using raster AOD showed better performance than using single-point AOD. The atmospheric correction using the single-point AOD yielded some inappropriate values for forest and water pixels, where as the atmospheric correction using raster AOD produced stable and natural patterns in accordance with the land cover map. Also, the Sentinel-2 normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) after the 6S correction had similar patterns to the up scaled drone NDVI, although Sentinel-2 NDVI had relatively low values. Also, the spatial distribution of both images seemed very similar for growing and harvest seasons. Future work will be necessary to make efforts for the gap-filling of AOD data and an accurate bi-directional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) model for high-resolution atmospheric correction. These methods can help improve the land surface monitoring using the future Compact Advanced Satellite 500 in South Korea.

Estimation of Soil Loss by Land Use in the Geum River Basin using RUSLE Model (RUSLE 모델을 이용한 금강 유역의 토지 이용별 토사유출량 추정)

  • Amount of soil loss is important information for the proper water quality management, In this research, annual average soil loss of the Geum River basin was estimated using RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation) and GIS (Geographic Information System). Input data were manipulated using ArcGIS ver. 8.3. From crop field which constitute 8.2% of the Geum River Basin, annual average soil loss was estimated as 53.6 ton/ha/year. From the rice paddy field which constitutes 20% of the Geum River Basin, soil loss was estimated as 33.5 ton/ha/year, In comparison, forestry area which constitutes 61.8% of the basin discharged 2.8 ton/ha/year, It could be known from this research that appropriate measures should be implemented to prevent excessive soil loss from the agricultural areas.

  • 이 토지 컨설팅 정보 시스템(Land Consulting Information System)은 토지에 건축, 형질변경 등 개발행위와 관련하여 구입토지의 선정에서부터 개발의사결정에 이르는 여러 가지 토지법률정보, 요구토지의 입지조건정보, 개발목적에 부합하는 토지의 분포정보, 매매나 세입 관련 부동산 정보 등 사람들의 다양한 요구조건과 의사결정 요소들을 컴퓨터 시스템을 통해 질의하고 검색, 분석함으로서 경제적이고 신속한 정보의 취득과 이를 통한 신뢰성 있는 개발과 구입의 의사결정정보를 제공하기 위한 목적에서 개발되었다. 시스템 기능의 인지도를 향상시키기 위해 'ALGOSA'라 별칭의 로고를 부여하였으며, 일반 개인은 물론 현존하는 전국의 수만 업체에 이르는 부동산사무소(공인 중개사), 측량설계사무소, 건축설계사무소, 전문토지개발회사 등 컨설팅 업체를 중심으로 시스템 보급의 필요성이 기대되며, 나아가 지방자치단체의 개발관련 인허가 부서에서도 이 시스템을 도입함으로서 개발행위 인허가 토지의 체계적 관리는 물론 불법 개발행위 단속과 객관적인 공시지가부여 기준제시를 위한 실제토지이용정보제공 등 폭 넓은 시스템 도입의 효과가 기대된다. 효과가 기대된다.

  • 정부는 기술을 활용한 통합 토지 데이터베이스 구축하고 GIS 초고속국가망을 통한 전국적인 네트워크를 활용하여 토지관련 자료들을 정확하고 효율적으로 유지관리하고 토지행정 업무의 생산성을 높이며 토지정책의 적시성 및 과학성을 도모하고, 대국민 민원서비스의 획기적인 향상시키기 위해 한국토지정보시스템을 개발하여, 운영 중에 있다. 한국토지정보시스템은 1998년 개발이 시작되어 전국의 지방자치단체로 단계적으로 보급되었으며 2006년 전국 250개의 지방자치단체에 확산이 완료되어 현재 약 80%의 민원서류가 전산으로 발급되고 있으며 현재 고도화 사업이 진행 중에 있다. 또한 정부는 국토이용 관련 대국민 정보 서비스 개선과 국토정보의 효율적 관리 및 유비쿼터스 시대의 다양한 서비스를 충족하기 위해서 한국토지정보시스템을 기반으로 하는 국토통합정보시스템 구축 추진을 계획하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국토지정보시스템의 현황 분석과 개선사항 도출을 기반으로 국토통합정보 시스템을 구현하기 위한 전략 방향과 추진 과제를 제시하고자 한다.

Standardizing Agriculture-related Information Scheme at Various Spatial Resolutions of Remote Sensor Data

  • This study is to present a standardized scheme for providing agriculture-related information at various spatial resolutions of satellite images including LANDSAT +ETM, KOMPSAT-1 EOC, ASTER VNIR and IKONOS panchromatic (Pan) and multi-spectral (M/S) images. The satellite images were interpreted especially for identifying agricultural areas, crop types, agricultural facilities and structures. The results were compared with the land cover/land use classification system suggested by Ministry of Construction & Transportation based on NGIS (National Geographic Information System) and Ministry of Environment based on satellite remote sensing data. The results by IKONOS image will be provided to KOMPSAT-2 project for agricultural application.

  • 쇠퇴되어가고 있는 도시를 부흥시키고자 하는 도시재생 사업의 성공을 위해서는 종합적인 정보체계를 갖추어야만 한다. 먼저 정확한 데이터를 통한 도시의 쇠퇴현황을 진단하고 쇠퇴의 유형에 따른 올바른 대상지를 선정하여야 하며 주민의 참여를 유도하는 정보체계 및 사업의 모니터링을 통한 지속적인 관리체계를 수립할 수 있어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 도시재생을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있는 정보체계를 도시재생종합정보시스템를 중심으로 제안하고 운영관리방안을 제시하였다. 제시된 정보체계 속에 유기적인 정보의 활용을 통해 우리나라 도시재생 사업의 효과적인 수행을 기대할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, color coordinate system transformation based visual servo controller has been considered. Mobile robot always has a position error and an orientation error resulted from wheel slipping etc.. Even more, the errors have accumulative properties. So feedback from environments is important. In this paper, by using color model faster land mark extraction can be achieved. And the global position and the orientation of mobile robot can be known by only two land marks positions in image coordinate system. Finally, the adoption of visual information in path tracking problem makes visual servo control.

  • In this paper, we p개pose DS-CDM-SQAM(Superposed Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) which is characterized by its smooth phase transition and small envelope fluctuation, and improves the power efficiency as compared to DS-CDM-QPSK of satellited-based DMB system(ITR-R BO.1130-4 System E) in a nonlinearly amplified channel. Computer simulation results show that the proposed DS-CDM-SQAM improves Eb/No by 1.7㏈ to maintain BER=1${\times}$$10^{-3}$ in nonlinearly amplified multipath mobile radio environments. Therefore, the proposed DS-CDM-SQAM system significantly improves the power efficiency in nonlinear land mobile satellite DMB environments.
