Purpose: This study was designed to explore quality of life (QOL) in patients with stomach cancer by using the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL) Instrument- Korean version. Materials and Methods: Thirty-one (31) patients with stomach cancer after curative resection were recruited with informed consent. Age- and gender-matched hospital staff served as controls. The 100-item WHOQOL Instrument, including physical domain, psychological domain, social domain, independence domain, environment domain, and spiritual domain, was employed for the all subjects. Results: In patients with stomach cancer after operation, only two domains, physical and independence, were associated with worse quality of life. In those domains, patients with advanced stage, with total gastrectomy, with adjuvant chemotherapy, and early or late postoperative period ($\leqq$2 years or >5 years after operation), could be perceived of having a worse quality of life. Conclusion: Not only scientific objective success but also individual subjective perception of condition could be important for managing patients with stomach carcinomas after curative resection. In this context, the WHOQOL reflecting multi-dimensional state of well being could be a useful tool across a variety of cultural and value systems in the world.

Objectives : Anterior cervical discectomy and interbody fusion has become a well-accepted surgical treatment of degenerative cervical diseases. Implatable cages have a stabilizing effect without plates and no need for autogenous bone graft. The authors evaluates the effect of implatable titanium cage(RABEA) on the clinical and radiological outcomes. Methods : 34 patients with symptomatic cervical degenerative diseases due to one level disc pathology were underwent anterior cervical discectomy and interbody fusion with titanium cages(RABEA) which were not filled with cancallous bone grafts from January 1999 to May 2001. Patients with osteoporosis and older than 65 years were not included. Among them, 15 patients could be followed-up for at least 1 year. The authors retrospectively reviewed the charts and radiographic data. Mean follow-up period was $1.3{\pm}0.2years$. Results : Clinical results according to the Odom's criteria was exellent and good in 14(93%) patients. One patient with fair result showed complete loss of the disc space height due to settlement of the cage. Preoperatively, the mean height of the disc space(${\pm}$standard deviation) was $3.42{\pm}1.10mm$(range 2.0-5.5mm), and at 1 day postoperatively it was $7.88{\pm}0.90mm$(range 6.50-9.0). The mean height of the disc space after 1 year was $6.50{\pm}1.38mm$(range 3.0-8.0). The restoration of the height was statistically significant(p<0.05). The mean height after 1 year was $82.7{\pm}15.9%$ of the height at 1 day postoperatively. Preoperatively the mean value of the cervical lodortic angle was $21.8{\pm}11.8^{\circ}$ and 1 year postopertively, it was $24.5{\pm}8.3^{\circ}$, which was statistically not significant. All patients showed no abnormal movements on flexion and extension lateral film after 6 months. Conclusion : Implantable titanium cages appear safe and effective in selected patients, and their use helps to avoid complications associated with bone graft harvest. Subsidence of the cage seems to be a potential risk factor for recurrence of the symptoms. For long-term results, a longer follow-up is required.

This study was carried out to obtain the basic data for artificial culture of veiled lady mushroom (Dictyophora spp). The optimal conditions for the mycelial growth were $25^{\circ}C$ and pH 5.0 for all isolates except the optimal temperature of $30^{\circ}C$ for D. echinovolvata ASI 32002 and Phallus rugulosus. The optimal medium for Dictyophora spp. was PBA (potato bamboo sawdust extract agar) medium. The strain ASI 32002, D. echinovolvata, grew faster than. D. indusiata ASI 32003 and Phallus rugulosus ASI 25007 on the medium. Carbon sources such as glucose, maltose and inuline were favorable for stimulating a mycelial growth of the two strains of ASI 32002 and ASI 32003. Asparagine and glutamine appeared to be favorable to the strain ASI 32002 and ASI 32003, where as alanine, one of nitrogen source also favorable to the strain ASI 32002. The optimum C/N ratio of the two isolates of ASI 32002 and ASI 32003 was about 25 : 1 when 2% glucose as carbon source was mixed with the basal medium. While, in the case of 4% as carbon source, the optimum C/N ratio was about 30 : 1.

근대 음악이 탄생하고 성장했던 바로크 시대의 음악은 영화를 위해 작곡된 음악은 아니지만 영화에 다양한 형태로 삽입되어 영화 전체의 분위기와 서사를 이끌어가고 등장인물의 감정과 내면세계를 표현하는데 중요한 기능적 역할을 담당한다. 이에 본 연구는 영화 <친절한 금자씨>에 사용된 테마곡인 비발디(A. Vivaldi)의 Cantata Rv.684를 포함한 5곡의 바로크 작품을 조성, 템포, 다이내믹, 음형, 음정, 화성, 리듬, 악기 편성, 장르 등의 다양한 관점을 통해 분석한 후 바로크 음악이 영화 속에서 어떠한 서사적 기능과 역할을 가지는지에 대해서 연구해 보고자 한다.

Objective : The choice of tumor antigen for dendritic cell[DC]-loading has still been an unresolved problem in the DC-based vaccine strategies against malignant gliomas that has not been found well-characterized tumor specific antigens. In this study, we compare tumor-specific T cell response induced by glioma apoptotic body[GAB]-pulsed DCs to response induced by glioma cell lysate-pulsed ones quantitatively. Methods : DCs generated in the presence of granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor and interleukin[IL]-4 from peripheral blood mononuclear cells[PBMCs] of HLA-A2 positive healthy donors were cultured. Each GABs and glioma cell lysate generated from HLA-A2 positive T98G glioblastoma cells were co-incubated with DCs. $CD8^+$ T lymphocytes isolated from PBMCs of same donors were cultured in media containing IL-2 and either stimulated by GAB- or lysate-pulsed DCs three times at a weekly interval. The interferon[IFN]-${\gamma}$ concentrations of each cell culture supernate were measured by enzyme immunoassay technique. Cytolytic activity of the generated cytotoxic $CD8^+$ T cells either stimulated with GAB- or lysate-pulsed DCs was determined by a standard 4-h $^{51}Cr$-release assay. Results : IFN-${\gamma}$ production and cytolytic activity of effector T cells stimulated by GAB-pulsed DCs were significantly higher than those of T cells stimulated by lysate-pulsed ones. Conclusion : These results indicate the choice of antigen is a critical determinant in the induction of antitumor immunity against malignant glioma. Antigen preparations from GABs represent a promising alternative to glioma cell lysate in DC-based glioma vaccine strategies.

목적: 본 연구는 위암 환자에서 한국판 단축형 세계보건 기구 삶의 질 척도의 타당도를 검증하고 이를 이용하여 위암 환자의 삶의 질을 평가하고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 가톨릭대학교 의과대학 성모자애병원 외과에서 근치적 절제술을 받은 50명의 위암 환자를 대상으로 하였으며 나이, 성별을 고려하여 선정된 성모자애병원 직원 50명을 대조군으로 하였다. 모든 대상군에게 100문항으로 이루어진 세계보건기구 삶의 질 척도를 구성하는 26문항을 선별하여, 환자군과 대조군에서 신체영역, 심리영역, 사회영역, 독립성 영역의 점수를 비교하였다. 결과: 각각의 영역에서 단축형 세계보건기구 삶의 질 척도 점수와 의미있는 상관관계를 보였다. 그리고 신체영역과 사회영역에서 위암 수술 환자의 삶의 질은 대조군과 비교해서 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 한국판 단축형 세계보건기구 삶의 질 척도는 위암 환자의 삶의 질을 평가하는 데 유용하고 타당한 도구라고 생각된다.

Objective: Acute spontaneous subdural hematoma(SDH) secondary to a ruptured intracranial aneurysm is a rare event. The authors present nine cases with aneurysmal SDH. Methods: We analyzed nine cases of aneurysmal SDH from 337 patients who underwent treatment for a ruptured aneurysm between January 1998 and May 2004. Clinical and radiological characteristics and postoperative course were evaluated by reviewing medical records, surgical charts and intraoperative videos. Results: The nine patients comprised four males and five females with a mean age of 53years (range 15-67years). The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies grades on admission were I in one patient, II in two patients, III in five patients and V in one patient. With respect to location, there were four internal carotid-posterior communicating artery(ICA-Pcom) aneurysms, one distal anterior cerebral artery(DACA) aneurysm, one anterior communicating artery and three middle cerebral artery aneurysms. CT scans obtained from the four patients with ICA-Pcom aneurysms revealed SDH over the convexity and along the tentorium, and two of these patients presented with pure SDH without subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH). In three patients with ICA-Pcom aneurysm, the ruptured aneurysm domes adhered to the petroclinoid fold. In the patient with the DACA aneurysm, the domes adhered tightiy to the pia mater and the falx. Conclusion: Ruptured intracranial aneurysm may cause SDH with or without SAH. In the absence of trauma, the possibility of aneurysmal SDH should be considered.

Objective : The present study was designed to compare Global Field Power Measurement and conventional method in P300 determination. Method : The subjects were composed of patients(N=20) with schizophrenia by DSM-IV and normal controls(N=20). The auditory event related potential P300 was measured by "oddball paradigm". P300 components were determined by Global Field Power Measurement and conventional method at 5 electrodes(Fz, Cz, Pz, $T_3$, $T_4$). Results : P300 amplitudes of patients were smaller than those of controls across all electrodes and in both methods, but there was no differential power in P300 determination between two methods. Asymmetry of auditory event-related potential P300 was not shown between patients with schizophrenia and normal controls. Conclusion : It is implicated that it depends on clinical situations and research purposes what method of P300 determination will be more appropriate for patients with schizophernia.

본 연구는 여성주의적 시각으로 영화 <죽여주는 여자>가 구성하는 공간을 헤테로토피아의 개념으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 젠더, 계급, 연령, 국가, 섹슈얼리티, 민족, 직업의 정치학이 상호 교차하면서 다음과 같은 공간을 구성하였다. 첫째, 나이 듦과 죽음이 교차하는 공간이다. 요양 병원, 달동네 쪽방촌, 북한산 바위, 호텔, 교도소 등을 통해 구성되는 이 공간은 죽음에 대한 역설과 모순을 불러일으키면서 죽음에 작동하는 가부장적 시선에 이의를 제기한다. 둘째, 밥벌이로서의 성매매 노동 공간으로 싸구려 여관과 녹음 짙은 야외 공원으로 대비되는 장소들이다. 낡은 여관방은 가부장적 성규범 사회에서 보호받지 못하는 '성매매 여성' 소영이 늙은 몸이 되면서 비체화되고 타자화되는 순간을 드러낸다. 셋째, 끊임없이 소환되는 모성 공간은 자식을 버린 죄책감에서 벗어나지 못한 소영의 일상을 통해 구성된다. 민호에 대한 과한 돌봄과 남성노인들에 대한 과도한 연민은 모성 결핍과 연결되면서, 모성 집착의 서사는 영화 내 다른 시선들과 충돌한다. 넷째, '다문화 소수자 유사가족 공간'은 이태원을 중심으로 경계 바깥의 구성원들이 모여 사는 공간이다. 이곳은 이성애 기반의 혈연 중심 '정상 가족'의 동질성에 균열을 내고 정상성 바깥의 섹슈얼리티를 가시화시키는 이질적 공간이다. 다섯째, 하위주체로서의 소영의 말하기 공간이다. 하위주체인 소영의 영화적 재현이 '말 걸기'라면 영화 텍스트 내에서 소영은 '말하기'의 주체로서 적극적으로 응대한다.

Apatient with multiple dissecting aneurysms of a posterior inferior cerebellar artery trunk who presented with SAH is reported. A 58-year-old woman presented with sudden occipital headache, dizziness and vomiting. The intial vertebral angiography revealed a suspicious pearl and string sign at the proximal posterior inferior cerebellar artery(PICA) segment. After 2 weeks, follow up angiography showed a progression of the proximal PICA dissection and newly developed dissecting aneurysm of the distal PICA segment. A far lateral suboccipital transcondylar appoach confirmed two dissecting aneurysms at distant sites of the PICA trunk. The dissection segments were wrapped with muslin wrap, which preserved the flow through the PICA and brain stem perforators. The angiographys at 3 weeks and 6 months after operation revealed serial disappearance of the dissecting aneurysms which is distal to proximal. The diagnosis, course and treatment of the dissecting aneurysms of the PICA are discussed with literature review.
