한국의 생산요소가격 변화가 마크업의 변동에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증분석: 1975-2007 (Factor Prices and Markup in the Korean Manufacturing Industry: An Empirical Analysis 1975-2007)

  • 1997년 말에 시작된 외환위기 이후 약 10여 년간에 걸쳐서 생산요소가격이 지속적으로 하락하였다. 생산요소시장에서 요소가격의 전반적인 하락현상은 기업의 수익구조와 기업의 가격설정행위에 지대한 영향을 미친 것으로 추론할 수 있다. 본 논문은 요소가격의 변화로 인해 기업의 이윤율과 시장의 구조를 반영하는 마크업의 크기와 마크업의 경기역행성에 어떠한 변화가 일어났는가를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 해외중간재를 포함하고 규모보수불변과 AR(1) 기술진보를 전제하는 생산함수에 근거하여 소규모 개방경제에서의 마크업방정식을 설정하였다. 분석결과에 의하면 외환위기 이후의 생산요소가격의 하락은 한계비용의 하락을 초래하였고 이에 따라 제조업의 마크업 상승을 가져왔으며 특히 제조업가운데서 내구재보다는 비내구재의 마크업의 상승에 영향을 주었다고 할 수 있다. 또한 HP-filtered GDP와 마크업방정식의 구성요소와의 회귀분석결과는 마크업은 경기역행적으로 실질임금과 노동분배율은 경기순행적임을 입증하였으며 이자율과 해외중간재 수입물가지수는 경기역행적으로 그리고 나머지 요소분배율 모두 경기순행성을 밝히고 있다. 결론적으로 생산요소시장에서의 가격변화가 제조업의 마크업변동의 경직성에 기여해왔다고 할 수 있다.

  • This study reviewed current facts on overseas manufacturing factories of garment vendors that were launched in the countries that have a great influence of the Korean Wave, and investigated the influence of Korean Wave in its sourcing area. By doing so, this study aims to present basic data in order to help fabric and garment vendors to enter into the fashion markets of different countries through a local network. For data collection and analysis, Windows SPSS 19.0 was used for frequency analysis of the facts and figures of the local manufacturing factories. In-depth interviews regarding the current facts on local manufacturing factories and the influence of Korean Wave were conducted with 16 Korean garment manufacturing factories in Vietnam and 9 in Indonesia among the overseas garment companies that were registered in the Korean Apparel Industry Association. Through the interview, it was found that new companies should investigate custom tariffs, salary level of the local employees, and infrastructure prior to launching above all. Also, as a result of analyzing competitors and competitive advantages, good treatment of local employees and a good labor environment were noted the most. As for the influence of the Korean Wave, the image of Korea was positive and favorable, but it did not directly affect the preference for Korean companies. After investigating the obstacles that prevented the entrance into local markets, it was found that the rise in the salary level was the biggest hindrance.

합작투자계약(合作投資契約)에 관한 법적(法的) 문제(問題) (Legal Aspects of International Joint Ventures)

  • International joint ventures are usually formed and managed by domestic companies and foreign investors for the common objectives. They offer an opportunity for each partner to benefit significantly from the comparative advantages of the other. Local partners bring knowledge of the domestic market; familiarity with government bureaucracies and regulations; understanding of local labor markets; and existing manufacturing facilities. Foreign partners can offer advanced process and product technologies, management know-how, and access to export markets. In Korea, joint ventures have been encouraged to usher in foreign investors with foreign currency capital badly needed during the IMF financial crisis. In the meantime, Korean laws and regulations with respect to joint ventures have been largely overhauled to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) both inbound and outbound. They include four types of FDI, i.e., acquisition of foreign stocks, provision of long-term loans, participation in joint operations like resources development, and establishment of foreign offices. From the legal point of view, the formal joint venture agreement must be an offspring of a series of tough negotiations between domestic and foreign partners. They usually stress the long-term relationship with the good will and dedication to each other, and restrict the free transfer of stocks. Both partners are earnestly interested in the ownership and management of the joint venture. So they keep a close eye on the articles of incorporation, changes of business environment, conflict resolution methods, transparency of accounting and other financial matters. When a multinational corporation (MNC) is involved in the joint venture, conflicts over management strategies, marketing and other issues take place more often than not between the MNC and local partners. We have to pay attention to joint ventures, particularly, in China and North Korea. As witnessed in other transition economies, China is eagerly bringing in foreign direct investments for the development of nation's economy. China encourages foreign investors to establish ordinary joint ventures, contractual joint ventures, solely invested foreign capital companies and jointly operated development companies with local partners. In North Korea, however, joint ventures have a different meaning like contractual joint ventures in China, in which North Korean partners have an initiative in the management. Rather, jointly operated companies or simply processing-for-wage companies are recommended in view of the unpredictable legal infrastructure in North Korea.

배달앱을 활용한 전통시장 배송 모형에 관한 실증분석 (An Empirical Analysis on the Compromised Delivery Model of Traditional Market Using Delivery Application)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to propose a win-win development plan for not only suppliers of delivery applications but also traditional market vendor companies and delivery riders by analyzing existing delivery models and presenting a new delivery model to enhance competitiveness of the traditional market using delivery apps. Research desgin, data, and methodology - Specifically, small retailers, such as traditional markets and supermarkets, presented a compromised delivery model that utilizes the platform of specialized delivery app service providers for order reception, and that the delivery is delivered by delivery systems jointly hired by Vendor companies, such as franchising companies. To validate the significance of the trade-off delivery model, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted by those involved in the delivery application. Results - From the perspective of suppliers of specialized delivery applications, it is analyzed that the use of specialized delivery applications in traditional markets will be a new market opportunity for service providers to achieve increased sales. It is expected that consumer choice and satisfaction will be increased as convenience and accessibility of traditional market businesses that were available only through direct visit from the user side of the delivery application will be expanded. From the standpoint of delivery application franchises, it is analyzed that they can seek to increase sales and increase customer service as well as ease labor cost burden due to joint employment of delivery riders. The delivery rider will be able to seek to improve customer service due to job security, wage stability, risk reduction and overheated competition due to direct employment. Conclusion - In conclusion, the compromised delivery model solved the problems raised in the preceding study conducted on delivery application suppliers, users, franchises, and riders to establish that it could be a strategic alternative to increasing sales and expanding detailed rights for the self-employed in the traditional market, which are experiencing difficulties in management. However, the adoption of a compromise delivery model requires social consensus from those involved in the delivery application and requires legal, institutional and policy support, which will require continued follow-up research on the delivery model in the future.

고용관련 빅데이터 구축 전략 및 활용방안 연구 (A Study on the Development Strategy and Utilization of Big Data Related to Employment)

  • 본 논문은 맞춤형 고용서비스 개발을 지원하기 위한 '고용관련 빅데이터 센터(가칭)'설립에 앞서 우리나라의 고용관련 DB 중에서 워크넷, 고용보험, 직업훈련 DB 등과 함께 교육과 복지 DB를 중심으로 DB별 개요, 구축 과정, 주요내용, 활용, 한계점 등을 살펴보았다. 이어서, 고용관련 빅데이터를 구축·운영하고 있는 독일과 영국의 사례를 분석하였다. 이상의 분석을 통해 개인이 생애에 경험하게 되는 다양한 노동력 상태간의 이행에서 발생할 수 있는 사회적 위험을 체계적으로 관리함으로써 이행을 통한 소득확보를 강조하는 이행노동시장론에 입각하여, 고용보험 DB를 중심으로 개인단위에서 교육/훈련/경력/자격, 구직, 고용, 실업, 비경활/복지 등의 DB를 연계하는 체계로 고용관련 빅데이터 구축방안과 활용방안을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 고용관련 DB들에 대한 대대적인 정비, 고용보험 DB를 중심으로 구축할 빅데이터의 대표성 제고, DB의 신뢰도 제고 등 향후 과제들을 제시하였다. 본 논문을 계기로 고용관련 빅데이터 구축 및 활용에 대한 논의가 더욱 활발해지기를 기대한다.

Current status and future trends for pork production in the United States of America and Canada

  • Pork production is a significant agricultural enterprise in the United States and Canada. The United States is the third-largest global producer of pork and Canada ranks seventh in pork production. The North American Free Trade Agreement and its successor, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, have facilitated trade and integration between the two countries. The majority of production systems are modern and intensive, characterized by large vertically integrated farms using advanced technologies. Both nations benefit from their status as major producers of feed grains, with the United States leading in corn and soybeans, while Canada excels in canola and barley production. The regulatory frameworks for food safety, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship differ slightly, with the FDA and USDA overseeing these aspects in the United States, and Health Canada and the Canada Food Inspection Agency in Canada. The United States and Canada also have well-established distribution networks for pork products, relying on both domestic and international markets. Export markets play a crucial role, with the United States being a major importer of Canadian pigs, and both countries exploring opportunities in Asia. Despite a rise in global demand, domestic pork consumption trends differ, with per capita consumption remaining stable in the USA and declining in Canada. Changing consumer preferences, including a demand for ethically raised and locally sourced pork, may influence production practices. Future trends in pig production include a focus on consumer concerns, sustainability, disease prevention, reduction of antimicrobial use, and advancements in technology. The industry is adapting to challenges such as disease outbreaks and changing regulations, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare. Labor and workforce considerations, along with advancements in technology and automation, are expected to shape the efficiency of pork production in the future.

어선원의 직업만족과 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 제요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinants of Fishermen's Work Satisfaction and Turnover Intention)

  • The sustained economic growth cannot be expected without the balanced development in all the realms of industries. Korea has recorded the continuous high growth rate of economy, but it is now facing some difficulties in keeping the normal economic growth, because industrial workers do not like to work in some fields, the typical one of which is the fishery works. This thesis aims at studying the determinants of fishermen's job satisfaction(FJS) and the determinants of affecting the fishermen's trunover intention(FTI) to obtain and maintain the man power for fishing boats. This study assumes that the determinants which affact FJS are fishermen's work values, job characteristics, the attitude of accepting their fishery work, and that the determinants which affect FTI are FJS and their perceptions of labor market. This study concerns two kinds of Job satisfaction : one is an intrinsic satisfaction which comes directly from the work itself, and the other is an extrinsic satisfaction comes from the compensation for the work, but in this study “Pollnac's work satisfaction factor” is added as an additional determinant of FJS. There is a difference in job satisfactions between the individuals who have different work values. Some feel more satisfacttion than the others, which can be explained by the internal work values which assume the work is only a means for another objective of life. This study applies Hackman and 014ham's studies to the job characteristics that a worker's job satisfaction is positively related to the core job characteristis of the job. In addition, this study transformed their studies into variables. A job enrichment to reduce the simplicity of a work and make it more valueable can increase a job satisfaction, but an existing organization has limitation in redesigning the job for its enrichment. A reasonable answer about this matter can be obtained from the workers' subjective perceptins to highly regard the objective job characteristics. Worker's previews of fishery work also affect their job satisfaction because they are already informed of the details and charcteristics of the job that they have to carry out. A Job dissatisfaction causes their intention to leave jobs owing to general perceptions prevailing in labor markets.

빈곤의 여성화(feminization of poverty) : 경향 및 원인 (Feminization of Poverty : its Trends and Causes)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국에서 빈곤의 여성화 경향이 실제로 나타나고 있는지 또한 빈곤의 여성화 경향이 실제로 있다면 그 원인은 무엇인지를 밝히는 것이다. 연구의 자료로는 1998년부터 2005년까지 8개년도의 한국노동패널 데이터를 이용하였으며, 분석대상은 18세 이상 남성과 여성 개인을 분석단위로 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 의하면, 1998년 이래 우리나라에서 빈곤의 여성화가 나타나고 있으며 그 경향이 더욱 심화되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 이러한 여성의 빈곤화 경향에 영향을 미치는 요인을 살펴본 결과, 횡단면 분석에서는 교육수준과 노동형태가 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나 종단면 분석에서는 가구원 수나 가구 내 취업자 수 같은 가구형태 관련 변수가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 여성의 빈곤화 경향을 완화시키기 위해 여성의 노동시장내 차별을 막는 제도적 장치의 마련과 시민권적 개념에 기초한 소득보장 프로그램의 마련 등이 시급하게 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

우리나라의 지역별 일자리결합함수의 추정 (On the Estimation of Regional Job-matching Functions of Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 2004년 1월부터 2007년 12월까지의 기간을 대상으로 우리나라 지역 노동시장의 일자리결합함수를 추정해보았다. 일자리 결합에 영향을 미치는 지역효과를 통제하기 위한 LSDV 기법과 지역 자료를 사용할 경우 발생하는 공간적 자기상관의 문제를 해결하기 위한 공간오차모형을 활용하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역 노동시장을 대상으로 일자리결합함수를 추정한 결과 이론과 합치하는 일자리 결합구조를 확인할 수 있었고, 구인기업의 채용이 구직자의 취업보다 상대적으로 용이하다는 결과를 얻었다. 둘째, 구직자 수와 일자리 수가 동일한 조건에서 수도권이 다른 지역에 비해 일자리 결합이 원활한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 인근 지역의 구직자 수가 적을수록, 그리고 공석의 일자리 수가 많을수록 당해 지역내에 거주하는 구직자의 취업건수가 증가하는 결과를 보여 일자리 결합과정에서 발생하는 지역간 파급효과를 포착할 수 있었다.

물류성과가 개발도상국가의 외국인직접투자에 미치는 영향 분석 (Logistic Performance Impact on FDI Inflow in Developing Countries)

  • 본 연구는 물류성과가 개발도상국으로 유입되는 FDI에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 물류 성과지표 중에서 운송 인프라와 화물의 적시성은 저소득 국가로의 FDI에 통계적으로 유의하게 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 중소득국가를 대상으로 분석한 경우에는 화물의 적시성만이 FDI에 유의하게 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 차이는 저소득국가와 중소득국가로 이루어지는 FDI의 성격이 다르기 때문이다. 저소득국가로 이루어지는 FDI는 저임금에 기초한 생산비절감을 위한 것이고, 중소득국가의 경우는 생산비절감을 위한 FDI와 소비시장 확대를 위한 FDI가 복합적으로 이루어지고 있기 때문이다. 무역비용(Trade Cost)의 일부로 볼 수 있는 물류성과지표는 무역뿐만 아니라 오프쇼어링을 목적으로 하는 FDI 유입에까지 영향을 미치고 있다고 할 수 있다.
