영양표시읽기 교육을 통한 초등학생의 식생활 태도 개선 (Improvement of Dietary Attitudes of Elementary Students by Nutrition Labeling Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve the dietary attitudes of elementary students through nutrition labeling education. A class of fifth-grade elementary students was selected and educated for basic nutrition and reading of nutrition labeling for 8 weeks by using education materials from the KFDA. After the education, the children were subjected for the practice of reading nutrition labeling during winter vacation, and the changes in their dietary attitudes and practice were measured by using questionnaires for children and their parents along with measuring physical changes. The results were as follows: The level of nutritional knowledge was improved significantly after the education (p < 0.05). Nutrition labeling education Increased the children's frequency of reading nutrition labeling from 34.2% to 57.9% while purchasing processed foods (p < 0.05), and 92.1% of the children answered that their dietary attitudes improved by nutrition labeling education. However, no improvement in physical measurements was observed after education. This result suggested that 8-week of education were not enough to show the improvement in physical measurements, and long-term and repeated education is necessary. After the education, most children answered that they recognized the benefit of reading nutrition labeling and they would read the nutrition labeling when purchasing processed foods. Parents also recognized the necessity of nutrition labeling education in school and suggested the need of nutrition labeling be easy to read. The above results suggested that nutrition labeling education is an effective way for improving dietary attitudes of children.

pCASL 관류 영상에서 표지 간격과 자화감수성 인공물이 영상에 미치는 영향 (The effects of labeling gap and susceptibility artifacts in pCASL perfusion MRI)

  • 스텐트 삽입술을 시행한 환자에게 ASL 방법 중 pCASL을 이용한 관류영상에서 나타난 인공물을 보고하고 이에 대한 해결방법을 제시하고자 한다. pCASL데이터는 구조적 이미지와 함께 스텐트를 피해 표지 펄스(labeling pulse)의 위치를 변경하여 획득하였다. 데이터는 ASLtbx를 이용하여 처리하였다. pCASL을 이용하여 관류영상을 획득하였을 때 기존의 표지 펄스(표지 간격(labeling gap) 24 mm)의 위치가 스텐트의 위치와 겹쳐져서 우뇌 조직의 신호강도가 비어 있는 것처럼 나타났다. 스텐트를 피해 표지 펄스(표지 간격 15 mm)를 위치시킬 때 높은 신호강도의 영상을 획득할 수 있었으며, 표지 펄스(표지 간격 170 mm)에서는 labeled 혈액이 영상절편에 도달하기 전에 이완이 되어 낮은 신호강도의 영상을 획득 하였다. pCASL은 조영제를 사용하지 않기 때문에 안정적으로 반복측정이 가능하며 양질의 영상 획득을 위해서는 알맞은 영상획득인자와 방법들이 선택되어야 한다.

잠재성장모형을 이용한 청소년의 비공식 낙인이 자아존중감, 불안우울, 공격성에 미치는 영향 분석 (The impact of informal labeling on self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents using latent growth model)

  • Objective: This study examined the change of informal labeling self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents over time and relationship between the intercept and the growth of the variables. Method: 4-year longitudinal panel data(n=2,699), Korea Youth Panel Survey (KYPS), were analyzed to verify the influence of informal labeling on self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents. Through latent growth modeling, temporal change of the variables was examined. Results: Analytic results are as follow. First, the initial status of informal labeling had a negative impact on the initial status of self-respect. The slope of informal labeling also had a negative impact on the slope of self-respect. In contrast, the initial status of informal labeling did not have an significant impact on the slope of self-respect. Second, the initial status of informal labeling had a positive impact on the initial status of aggression. The slope of informal labeling had a negative impact on the slope of aggression. In contrast, the initial status of informal labeling did not have an significant impact on the slope of aggression. Third, the initial status of informal labeling had a positive impact on the initial status of depression/anxiety and a negative impact on the slope of depression/anxiety. The slope of informal labeling had a positive impact on the slope of self-respect. Conclusions: The results suggest the importance of informal labeling on self-respect, depression/anxiety, and aggression of adolescents.

영양표시타입이 가정간편식 건강성 평가와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Type of Nutrition Labeling on the Healthfulness Evaluation and Purchase Intentions of Home Meal Replacements (HMR) in South Korea)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the types of nutrition labeling on the processing fluency, health evaluation and purchase intentions of home meal replacements. Methods: This online experimental study was conducted from December 29 to 31, 2019 and included 134 participants. The research design was 2 (Objective nutrition labeling: present vs. absent) × 2 (Evaluative nutrition labeling: present vs. absent) and each participant was randomly assigned to one of four groups. As stimuli, five types of ready-to-heat foods sold in the market were used. Results: Processing fluency (4.91 points) and purchase intention (4.13 points) were significantly high when both evaluative nutrition labeling and objective nutrition labeling were presented, and healthfulness evaluation (4.47 points) was significantly high when only evaluative nutrition labeling was presented. All three variables were measured to be high when evaluative nutrition labeling was presented. The evaluative nutrition labeling that visually represented nutritional values was found to be more effective for processing fluency, healthfulness evaluation, and purchase intention than the objective nutrition labeling representing the nutritional value of the product in numbers and proportions. Conclusions: These results show that it is necessary to develop various types of evaluative nutrition labeling to enable consumers to choose and purchase healthful home meal replacements. Also, consumer education and public campaigns are needed to encourage consumers to select healthier home-cooked meals using nutrition labeling.

수원시 거주 성인의 외식 메뉴 영양표시에 대한 인식 (Perception of Nutrition Labeling on Restaurant Menus among Adults in Suwon)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the perception of nutrition labeling on restaurant menus, and to analyze the differences among subject's characteristics, eating-out behaviors, and dietary attitudes. Information concerning general characteristics, health status, eating-out behaviors and dietary attitudes of subjects was collected by a structured questionnaire. From January 5th to February 27th in 2009, 406 questionnaires were completed by 157 males and 249 females. Statistical analyses were performed using by SPSS 14.0 package program. The perception of the importance of nutrition labeling was 3.89, while knowledge of whether restaurants provided sufficient nutrition information scored 2.26 indicating that being highly conscious of nutrition labeling, respondents did not view the supplied information as sufficient. Nutritional perception was greater in females and varied in both genders with age and health status. Significant differences concerning the perceptions of nutrition labeling were evident, based on eating-out behaviors and dietary attitudes. The results imply that nutrition labeling on restaurant menus should be based on consumer characteristics. Relevant nutrition labeling might help improve health by encouraging proper dietary habits and providing valuable nutritional information. Recognition of the importance of nutrition labeling and strategic implementation of labeling in menus would be prudent strategies for restaurant managers. 나트륨 섭취 감소를 위한 식품표시 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Introduction of New Food Labeling for Reduction of Sodium Intake)

  • The objective of this study is to provide direction in the improvement of sodium labeling in an effort to reduce consumption. We surveyed confirmation and importance of food labeling and nutrition information and we also analyzed the willingness to pay on new nutrients labeling. Consumers checked the sell-by-date, product name, method of intake, but not nutritional information. They also checked for calories and carbohydrates but they were not interested in sodium, sugar, and trans fat which are health hazard nutrients. It is necessary to improve nutrition labeling, because consumers are experiencing difficulties in obtaining sodium information under the nutrition labeling system. Consumers will pay about 0.66% more if new sodium labeling is introduced. In conclusion, food labeling system can be improved by smooth and efficient access of information. for health-hazard nutritional components, such as sodium, it is important to introduce policies that reduce their intake. This can be done by providing consumers with clear and concise information. The social costs of high sodium intake could be reduced, hence improving the national health.

소비자보호를 위한 한국 원산지표시제도의 문제점과 개선방안 (Issues and Improvements on the Country of Origin Labeling System for Consumer Protection in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to review domestic and foreign origin labeling system in order to implement origin labeling system in the perspective of protecting the interests of consumers, and to suggest governmental improvements by analyzing problems embedded in current labeling system. The results analysis show complexity of related legal system, lack of expertise at the stage of labeling, and inefficiency of crackdown authority. The improvement could be suggested in two ways: supporting plans for the ones who have duty of labeling and improvement plans in origin management system. As supporting plans, we suggest the need for an automatic origin determination system, appropriate education on origin stakeholders, and introduction of origin certification system. For improvement plans, there are unification of country of origin labeling related laws, utilization of FTA product specific rules, and QR code, expert confirmation system. Since the origin labeling issue has become important, proactive and quick responses must follow with thorough examination the effect of the origin labeling on consumer welfare.

  • 그래프 G = (V, E )의 L(2, 1)-labeling 은 무선통신에서 무선 기기에 할당되는 주파수를 효율적으로 사용하기 위한 최적화 문제로서 NP-complete 계열에 포함되는 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 L(2, 1)-labeling 문제에 적용 가능한 Simulated Annealing 알고리즘을 제시한 후 다양한 그래프에 제시된 알고리즘을 적용하여 그 효용성을 보이고자 한다.

A study on consumer's preference for size labeling system of womens's ready-to-wear garments

  • This study was initiated to investigate (1) whether consumers preferred a specific garment size labeling system and (2) whether consumer's demographic characteristics, clothing behavior, and body size affect their preference of size labeling systems. The survey of consumer's preferences for five size labeling systems included 443 women with 20 to 64 years of age. The result of the survey showed that the subjects' preferences of five size labeling sysems were different significantly. Subjects strongly preferred the old system rather than the revised systems. The subjects least preferred the system with pictogram(system D) and the system with description of the measuring methods of te control dimensions (system E). The subjects/ preference for various garment size labeling systems was different depending on their resident area, educational level, and body size. The garment size labeling system with more information on body measurements (system C) was preferred by the subjects living in the metro city area or subjects having difficulties on purchasing ready-to-wear garments giving reasonable fit. The simplest size labeling system (system A) was strongly preferred by the subjects of low educational level, or the subjects living in the small city.
