Determinants of Private Label's Purchase Intention in the Korean Market

  • Purpose: In this study we investigate the determinants of private label (PL) purchase intention in South Korea. Private labels are becoming more and more popular in America and European countries. However, there are not enough studies focusing on PL within the South Korean market. Therefore, the present study has been written in order to understand more about consumers' purchase intention of store brand in the South Korean market. Many characteristics and aspects of consumers and brand's behavior have been reviewed in order to bring relevant results. Research design, data and methodology: Data was collected using a quantitative survey of Korea retail store's consumer. We analyzed using multiple regression method to test the hypothesis. We analyzed how and why do consumers have a strong intention to purchase the PL. Results: a) Trust towards retailer influences the PL purchase intention of customers; b) brand awareness has an impact on the PL purchase intention of customers; c) perceived quality has an impact on the PL purchase intention; d) Price-quality relationship influences on the PL purchase intention. However, there is no direct effect of some of the factors of determinant. Conclusion: For private label products in the Korean market, trust in sellers and brand awareness influences the purchase of PL products.

가공식품의 나트륨함량과 일부 여대생의 나트륨 영양표시 이용 및 저염 라면에 대한 수용도 (The Amount of Sodium in the Processed Foods, the Use of Sodium Information on the Nutrition Label and the Acceptance of Sodium Reduced Ramen in the Female College Students)

  • The amount of sodium in the processed foods was evaluated by the information on the nutrition label. One-meal type foods as Ramen, Woodong, Naengmyon provide the most sodium reaching 30 - 70% DV per serving size. In Ramen not much difference was observed for the sodium content by food companies though each company provides various amount of sodium reducing as much as 25% DV. The proportion of female college students who read the nutrition information reached 62% but it remained 32% on the sodium information. They purchase low sodium foods rarely however their intention to buy low sodium foods increased up to 40% in condition that sodium information is given on the food label. Nevertheless 50% of them would not buy low sodium food if the taste is undesirable. Low sodium ramen cooked with 80% soup-base was acceptable by the subjects. Majority of them responded the soup was rather salty indicating the reduction of sodium in ramyeon is possible.

Hausdorff Distance와 이미지정합 알고리듬을 이용한 물체인식 (Object Recognition Using Hausdorff Distance and Image Matching Algorithm)

  • The pixel information of the object was obtained sequentially and pixels were clustered to a label by the line labeling method. Feature points were determined by finding the slope for edge pixels after selecting the fixed number of edge pixels. The slope was estimated by the least square method to reduce the detection error. Once a matching point was determined by comparing the feature information of the object and the pattern, the parameters for translation, scaling and rotation were obtained by selecting the longer line of the two which passed through the matching point from left and right sides. Finally, modified Hausdorff Distance has been used to identify the similarity between the object and the given pattern. The multi-label method was developed for recognizing the patterns with more than one label, which performs the modified Hausdorff Distance twice. Experiments have been performed to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm and method for simple target image, complex target image, simple pattern, and complex pattern as well as the partially hidden object. It was proved via experiments that the proposed image matching algorithm for recognizing the object had a good performance of matching.

Label-Free Electrochemical DNA Detection Based on Electrostatic Interaction between DNA and Ferrocene Dendrimers

  • A label-free DNA detection method was developed for a simple electrochemical DNA sensor with a short assay time. Self-assembled monolayers of peptide nucleic acid were used as a probe on gold electrodes. The formation of the self-assembled monolayers on the gold electrodes was successfully checked by means of cyclic voltammetry. The target DNA, hybridized with peptide nucleic acid, can be detected by the anodic peak current of ferrocene dendrimers, which interact electrostatically with the target DNA. This anodic peak current was measured by square wave voltammetry at 0.3 V to decrease the detection limit on the order of the nanomolar concentrations. As a result, the label-free electrochemical DNA sensor can detect the target DNA in concentrations ranging from 1 nM to $1\;{\mu}M$ with a detection limit of 1 nM.

준지도 학습에서 꼭지점 중요도를 고려한 레이블 추론 (A Label Inference Algorithm Considering Vertex Importance in Semi-Supervised Learning)

  • 준지도 학습은 기계 학습의 한 분야로서, 레이블된 데이터와 레이블되지 않은 데이터 모두를 사용하여 모델을 학습함으로써 지도 학습에 비해 예측 정확도를 높일 수 있다. 최근 각광받고 있는 그래프 기반 준지도 학습은 입력 데이터를 그래프의 형태로 변환하는 그래프 구축 단계와 이를 사용하여 레이블되지 않은 데이터의 레이블을 예측하는 레이블 추론 단계로 나뉜다. 이 추론은 준지도 학습에서의 평활도 가정을 기본으로 한다. 본 연구에서는 추가로 각 꼭지점 중요도를 결합함으로써 개선된 레이블 추론 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이와 함께 알고리즘의 수렴성을 증명하고, 또한 실험을 통해 알고리즘의 우수성을 검증하였다.

  • This study aims to develop propositions about the factors that influence the purchase intention of private label products. These factors are: in-store promotion, visual merchandising, store image, and customer value. This study elaborates on some of the results of previous studies that have examined the factors that influence purchase intention of private label products that have been published on Google Scholar and indexed by Scopus between 1991- 2020, to develop a proposition. This paper fills a lack of Studies which discuss purchase intention from a consumer behavior perspective. From the perspective of consumer behavior, purchase intention is influenced by three factors, namely: intrinsic factors including: consumer value, extrinsic factors including: in-store promotions, visual merchandising and store image, and consumer factors. This paper defines purchase intention as the effort and strong urge to buy a particular product in the future, the possibility of considering buying the product, the decision to rebuy the product and the desire to recommend the product. The main findings of this research are several propositions, namely: in-store promotion, visual merchandising and store image directly affect customer value and purchase intention. The following propositions are: In-store promotion, visual merchandising and store image influence purchase intention mediated by customer value.

수산물 Eco-label CoC에 대한 식품안전 접근방안 연구 : AHP 기법을 통한 요구사항 분석을 중심으로 (A study on food safety approach for seafood Eco-label chain of custody : Focused on Requirement Analysis by AHP Method)

  • The purpose of this study is to find food safety approach in the Eco-label Chain of Custody(CoC) which is only focused to traceability. Because, consumers want to be assured the certified seafood comes from sustainable fishery as well as hygienic. In order to this approach, we used Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method as belows. We first understood the CoC criteria for using pair-wise comparison and analyzed and selected each Eco-label certifications and standards. Second, we carried out a survey to the targeted standard Marine Stewardship Council(MSC) CoC auditors all over the world and analyzed the priorities of food safety approach to 4 principles and 12 criteria belong the MSC CoC Standard. As the results, we found out that 'Management System' has the highest priority in the principles and 'Documentation' and 'Keeping Record' are the most important criteria for this approach. In addition, 'Training' and 'Identification' are also higher priority of criteria. So, we suggested food safety approach method for improvement of these criteria in conclusion based on discussion with specialist in this field.

Quantitative Label-free Biodetection of Acute Disease Related Proteins Based on Nanomechanical Dynamic Microcantilevers

  • We report the label-free biomolecules detection based on nanomechanical micro cantilevers operated in dynamic mode for detection of two marker proteins (myoglobin and creatin kinase-MB (CK-MB)) of acute myocardical infarctions. When the specific binding between the antigen and its antibody occurred on the fuctionalized microcantilever surface, mechanical response (i.e. resonant frequency) of microcantilevers was changed in lower frequency range. We performed the label-free biomolecules detection of myoglobin and CK-MB antigen in the low concentration (clinical threshold concentration range) as much as 1 ng/ml from measuring the dynamic response change of micro cantilevers caused by the intermolecular force. Moreover, we estimate the surface stress on the dynamic microcantilevers generated by specific antibody-antigen binding. It is suggested that our dynamic microcantilevers may enable one to use the sensitive label-free biomolecules detection for application to the disease diagnosis system based on mechanical immuno-sensor.

대출업무 자동화를 위한 시스팀설계에 관한 연구 (System Analysis for the Automated Circulation)

  • Accepting the necessity for maintaining the objectives of the existing circulation system, the computer-based system could be designed by the system analyst and librarians to gain a variety of improvements in the maintenance, accessibility of circulation records and more meaningful statistical records. If the terminal can be operated on-line, then this circulation data is transmitted directly to the computer, where it may update to the circulation file immediately or alternatively be kept in direct access file for updating in batch mode. on-line system in the circulation operations is "data-collection system" and "Bar-coded label system" Bar-coded label system is simple, quick, and error-free input of data. Attached to CRT terminal is a "light pen" which is hand held and will read a bar-coded label as the pen is passed over the labels (one affixed to the book itself, other carried on the borrower cards). Instantaneously the data concerning transaction is stored in the central mini-computer. It is useful, economical for us to co-operate many libraries in Korea and design borrower's ID code, book no., classification code in the Bar-coded label system by the members of the computer center and the library staff at every stage. As for book loan, the borrowers ID code, book number and classification code are scanned by the bar-code scanner or light pen and the computer decides whether to loan and store the data. The visual display unit shows the present status of a borrowers borrowing and decides whether borrower can borrow.

웹 이미지 마이닝과 랜덤 레이블을 이용한 딥러닝 기반 개 품종 인식 (Recognition of Dog Breeds based on Deep Learning using a Random-Label and Web Image Mining)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 ImageNet과 Oxford-IIIT Pet Image의 Dataset에서 제공하는 개 품종 이미지와 인터넷 상에서 개 품종 이미지를 데이터 마이닝을 통해 획득된 개 품종 이미지를 결합하고 Random-Label을 추가 하여 개 품종 122개의 클래스와 개 품종이 아닌 1개의 클래스를 인식하는 방법에 대해 소개 한다. 기존 DB만을 사용하였을 때 개 품종 인식률 대비 기존 DB와 수집 DB를 모두 사용한 개 품종 인식률이 Top-1에 대해서 1.5% 개선되었다. 개가 아닌 이미지 인식은 랜덤 DB를 10000장의 경우 93% 인식률을 확인했다.
