In order to implement continuous-path motion on a robot, it is necessary to blend one joint motion to another joint motion near a via point in a trapezoidal form of joint velocity. First, the velocity superposition using parametric interpolation is proposed. Hybrid motion blending is defined as the blending of different two type's motions such as blending of joint motion with linear motion, in the neighborhood of a via point. Second, hybrid motion blending algorithm is proposed based on velocity superposition using parametric interpolation. By using a 3-axis SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robot with $LabVIEW^{(R)}$$controller^{(1)}$, the velocity superposition algorithm using parametric interpolation is shown to result in less vibration, compared with PTP(Point- To-Point) motion and Kim's algorithm. Moreover, the hybrid motion $algorithm^{(2)}$ is implemented on the robot using $LabVIEW^{(R)(1)}$ programming, which is confirmed by showing the end-effector path of joint-linear hybrid motion.
A HEVC-compatible 3D video coding method (3D-HEVC) has been recently developed as an extension of the high efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard. In order to efficiently deal with the multi-view video plus depth (MVD) format, 3D-HEVC exploits an inter-component prediction which allows the prediction between texture and depth map images in addition to a temporal prediction used in the conventional single layer video coding such as H.264/AVC and HEVC. The performance of the inter-component prediction is normally affected by the accuracy of the disparity vector, and thus it is important to have an accurate disparity vector used for the inter-component prediction. This paper, therefore, introduces a disparity derivation method and inter-component algorithms using the disparity vector for the efficient 3D video coding. Simulation results show that the 3D-HEVC provides higher coding performance compared with the simulcast approach using HEVC and the simple multi-view extension (MH-HEVC).

A data acquisition (DAQ) system based on oscilloscope was developed and evaluated for radiation detector. The dedicated LabVIEW program that perform the oscilloscope control and the data process was developed. Triggered events for each analog channel were acquired and the output signals were subsequently digitized and recorded for offline processing. Radiation pulse generation circuit was developed to evaluate the intrinsic characteristics of DAQ system. Energy linearity and energy resolution performances were assessed by voltage-peak channels and FWHM obtained from Gaussian fit, respectively. Radiation detector consists of LYSO and GAPD array. The 16 output signals were multiplexed by the RCD networks, and they were fed into the custom-made preamplifiers. Voltage-peak channels was linearly changed as a function of input voltage and the estimated coefficient of determination ($R^2$) was 0.999. No considerable changes in voltage resolution were observed. All 16 crystals were clearly identifiable on the resulting flood image and the mean energy resolution was ~15.1%. This study demonstrated that it is feasible to develop the DAQ system based on oscilloscope and LabVIEW program for radiation detector and the proposed approach offers opportunities to build simple DAQ system in various radiation measurement field.

Recently, development and application of condition monitoring and diagnostic system for improvement of durability and reliability and reduction of operating cost is generalized in the aircraft propulsion system. Expecially, for reliable operation of the high altitude and a long time and condition monitoring system to identify faults and degradations of its propulsion system should be needed. This work proposed a GUI-based On-line condition monitoring program using LabVIEW by PT6A-67 turboprop engine. The proposed on-line condition program can monitor the real engine performance as well as the trend through precise comparison between performance results calculated by the base performance simulation program and measuring engine performance signals. In the development phase of this monitoring system, a signal generation module is proposed to evaluate the proposed on-line monitoring system.

State-of-the-art design S/W and other 3D systems are used for design and development of weapon system. It is possible to detect problems of design through 3D or VR(Virtual Reality) in advance, and then reduce the development cost by finding solutions before prototype production. Therefore, we can increase efficiency for supportability of weapon system. In this study, we first propose a design verification procedure. Then we verify design of weapon system, underwater guided weapon, as a case study. Finally, we suggest alternatives for underwater guided weapon under development with DMS(Digital Maintenance System) and ICIDO from the point of view of ILS(Integrated Logistics Support). Developed S/W, DMS, draws maintenance procedures for components. Commercial S/W, ICIDO, verifies cable maintainability.

This paper proposes an intermediate image generation method for the viewer's view point by tracking the viewer's face, which is converted to a digital hologram. Its purpose is to increase the viewing angle of a digital hologram, which is gathering higher and higher interest these days. The method assumes that the image information for the leftmost and the rightmost view points within the viewing angle to be controlled are given. It uses a stereo-matching method between the leftmost and the rightmost depth images to obtain the pseudo-disparity increment per depth value. With this increment, the positional informations from both the leftmost view point and the rightmost view point are generated, which are blended to get the information at the wanted intermediate viewpoint. The occurrable dis-occlusion region in this case is defined and a inpainting method is proposed. The results from implementing and experimenting this method showed that the average image qualities of the generated depth and RGB image were 33.83[dB] and 29.5[dB], respectively, and the average execution time was 250[ms] per frame. Also, we propose a prototype system to service digital hologram interactively to the viewer by using the proposed intermediate view generation method. It includes the operations of data acquisition for the leftmost and the rightmost viewpoints, camera calibration and image rectification, intermediate view image generation, computer-generated hologram (CGH) generation, and reconstruction of the hologram image. This system is implemented in the LabView(R) environments, in which CGH generation and hologram image reconstruction are implemented with GPGPUs, while others are implemented in software. The implemented system showed the execution speed to process about 5 frames per second.

This paper aims to realize additional axes, which increase the processing efficiency of a robot by controlling in harmful environments. Ultimately, this is to create time and energy savings in industrial sites with 6-axis articulated welding robots (RS2). Using $RecurDyn^{(R)}$ a simulation technique is applied. The motion paths of the welding rod are compared for two cases in order to verify the necessity of the additional axes: 1) when there are no additional axes and 2) when there are additional axes during welding using the RS2. For this purpose, the angle variations of the RS2 axes required for the simulation are compared, on the assumption that each of the four points of the welding bed installed on the additional axes of the welding rod in $Solidworks^{(R)}$ is point-welded. Then, actual additional axes equipment is grafted on to the RS2 and the process times compared using $LabVIEW^{(R)}$.

Structural integrity of solid rocket depends on the residual reactions between constituents of its composition(post cure, migration etc.), the oxygen(or anti-oxydent) in the free volume and humidity (desiccant) under the perfect sealed condition. Mechanical Properties of composite solid propellant arising from those factors are very complex. Moreover the propulsion are faced with thermal loads from diurnal & seasonal cycle till firing. In this study, the fast evaluation method of long term mechanical properties is suggested based on Thermo-Rheological Simplicity from curing oven to cool-down stage in view point of thermal stabilization. For this subject, endurance tester having temperature control capability are devised. From the results from incremental load and strain, non-linear characteristics are discussed.
