Characteristics of Acupuncture at LU10 on Abdominal Thermography of Health Subject (어제(魚際)(LU10) 자침(刺鍼)이 복부(腹部) 한열변화(寒熱變化)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This study was examined for characteristics of acupuncture of LU10 on the abdominal thermography of health subject. The volunteers who participating in this study had taken rest for 20 - 30 mins in room temperature $(23-25^{\circ}C)$ before the examination and informed them what to prohibit smoking, drinking and administration of drug for the previous day. The thermography of abdomen including a below part of the chest was taken using Infra-Red Imaging System (IR 2000, MEDI-CORE Co., Korea) by time interval of 15 minutes at 15 min before, just before and 15 min after, 30 min after and 45 min after acupuncture stimulation. Acupuncture was applied to both LU10 for 30 mins. The results showed that acupuncture of LU10 for 30 mins had more potencies of changes on all the ROIs of abdominal thermography than those of control group. Also, those responses were significantly clear at the A1, A3, A6, A7 and A9 areas. It was observed that the quantities of thermal changes following acupuncture of LU10 been increased significantly comparing that of control group at the all ROIs (region of interest). These effects have more potencies at the upper (A1 and A2) and below (A7, A8, A9) abdominal areas than midline ones (A4, A5, and A6). These results suggest that acupuncture of LU10 having the characteristics of controls of chill and fever (寒熱) may modulate thermal distributions and changes of abdominal areas including the below of chest.

  • 'Lu' is one of the Korean traditional building structure. The architectural characteristics of the 'Lu' can be classified two types with its use. One is single building type and the other is a part of building type within building complex. This study is about the two-storied 'Lu' that was built on part of building complex. 'Lu' built in building complex such like Sa-chal, Hyang-gyo, Seo-won, Jae-sil, has the similar characters. 1. It is built by taking slope site. 2. Ii is one of four buildings that forms court yard. 3. It uses simple building structure on the purpose of openness 4. It can control view with using window. The column type of 'Lu' can be classified with 3 style. These are $5{\times}2$ Kan style, $3{\times}2$ Kan style and $5{\times}3$ Kan style. It would be assumed with the result of study that $5{\times}2$ Kan style has its origin in Hoe-Rang structure, $3{\times}2$ Kan style is originated from Joong-Moon(middle gate) structure, and $5{\times}3$ Kan is originated from Kang-Dang structure.

  • Objectives : Aims of this study is to investigate the effects of $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ in rat induced by experimental focal ischemia. Materials and methods : The focal ischemia was induced by intraluminal filament insertion into middle cerebral artery. The groups divided into 6groups, control; no therapy group after ischemia-induced, AT1; acupuncture therapy group at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ after ischemia-induced, AT2; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the thumb of the right hand 9times, AT3; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the forefinger of the right hand 9times, AT4; acupuncture therapy at$LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally and the needle was inserted to the direction following the flowing route of the meridian(digital direction), AT5; acupuncture therapy at $LU8{\cdot}KI7$ bilaterally, the needle was inserted to the direction following the flowing route of the meridian(digital direction) and the needle was twirled and rotated forward with the thumb of the right hand 9times. Acupuncture therapy was carried out 7times during 2weeks after focal ischemia-induced. The anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects of acupuncture are observed by Bax, Bcl-2, mGluR5, cytochrome c, Cresyl violet and ChAT-stain. Results : The intensity of Bax was decreased in AC1, AC4, AC5 group, was increased in AC2, AC3 group. The intensity of Bcl-2 was increased in AC2, AC3, AC4, AC5 group. The intensity of mGluR5 was decreased in AC1 group, was increased in AC4, AC5 group. The intensity of Cytochrome c was increased in ACI, AC2 group, was decreased in AC4, AC5 group. The density of neurons stained by Cresyl violet was increased in all group without control group. The density of ChAT was increased in AC2, ACS group. Conclusions : Our study suggests that AC5 group show anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective effects on cholinergic neuron in focal cerebral ischemia of the stroke in rats.

Treatment of Canine Tracheal Collapse by Injection-Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (기관지허탈 견에서 약침과 한약제를 이용한 치료)

  • A 15 years old castrated male Pug dog was referred with chief complaint of cough, described as a goose honk. He was diagnosed into of tracheal collapse by clinical signs and radiography. He was received by injection- AP with butorphanol (0.15 mg/kg, SID) at BL13, LU01, LU05, LU06, LU07, LU09 and CV22 for 10 days, and he was also received by injection-AP with butorphanol (0.40 mg/kg, SID) at BL13, LU01 and CV22 for 9 days. The patient was given with Sochungryong-Tang (0.5 g/head, TID) for 7 days, and he was additionally given with Sojagangki-Tang (1 ml/kg, TID) for 12 days. Cough was not detected at all, and tracheal diameter was more increased than that of session 1 on radiograph at session 19. Cough was not detected at all and tracheal diameter at follow-up study of three month later was more dilated than that of session 19. In conclusion, the present patient was a case with canine tracheal collapse which showed favorable therapeutic response by injection-AP with butorphanol combined by administration of herbal medicine.

The Changes of NO, nNOS, Norepinephrine by Acupucture at LU7, HT5, PC6 Acupoints in Rats (수삼음경의 락혈 침자가 백서의 혈위 조직내 nNOS. NO와 조직 및 혈장 Norepinephrine의 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : A previous study demonstrated that the connecting points of three yang meridians attenuated changes of nNOS, and Norepinephrine(NE) in rats. The current study investigated the changes in nNOS, NO and NE upon the needle insertion at varying depths at the connecting point of three yin meridians of the hand. Methods : Needles were inserted into rats, on both left and right sides of the connecting point, including the LU7, HT5 and PC6 acupoints which are three yin meridians of the hand. After insertion, needles were retained for five minutes. Each acupuncture groups were treated acupuncture at each acupoint and at the depths of superficial, middle and deep layer. After the retention, blood was drawn via cardiac puncture, and tissues of each point near meridian vessel was extracted to examine the changes in the expression of nNOS, NO and NE. Results : Compared with the superficial layer group, nNOS production significantly decreased in the middle and deep layer at LU7 acupoint group and in the deep layer at HT5, PC6 acupoint group. The tissue NE decreased in the deep layer on PC6 acupoint and the plasma NE increased at the middle layer at LU7 acupoint group but decreased at the deep layer on at LU7 acupoint group. Conclusions : Acupuncture at connecting points of three yin meridians of the hand can regulate the activities of nNOS, and NE.

Effects of Acupuncture at the River Points(LU8, HT4, PC5, SP5, KI7, LR4) on the Changes of Nitric Oxide Synthase and Norepinephrine in Rats (백서(白鼠)의 경혈(經穴)(LU8, SP5, HT4, KI7, PC5, LR4) 침자(針刺)가 Nitric Oxide Synthase 및 Norepinephrine의 변화에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • Objectives : The Meridians and acupuncture points are the fundamental theories for acupuncture therapy. They have been associated with nervous system, but It is not well defined. We investigated that the effects of acupuncture at the river points(LU8, HT4, PC5, SP5, KI7, LR4) on the changes in the expression of nNOS, iNOS, eNOS, and NE in rats. Methods : The Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 6 groups each non-acupuncture and acupuncture group. We inserted needle and retained for 5 minutes on both left and right sides of LU8, HT4, PC5, SP5, KI7, LR4 which were the river points of five transport points for 6 yin meridian vessels. After that, blood was drawn via cardiac puncture, and tissues for each point near meridian vessels were extracted to examine the changes in the changes of nNOS, eNOS, iNOS and NE. Results : The LU8 and HT4 group showed a significant decrease on nNOS. In terms of eNOS and iNOS, the LU8 group decreased significantly while the KI7 group increased significantly. However, the experimental groups didn't show any significant changes on the plasma and tissue norepinephrine without plama NE in SP5 group. Conclusions : The effect on the nNOS, iNOS, eNOS of acupuncture at LU8 and KI7 could be observed, and it is considered that the effect of acupuncture related with on nervous system could be studied by additional researches based on this one.

Effects of Flux and Ta5+ Substitution on the Photoluminescence of Lu(Nb,Ta)O4:Eu3+ Phosphors (융제 및 Ta5+ 치환이 Lu(Nb,Ta)O4:Eu3+ 형광체의 발광 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • $Lu(Nb,Ta)O_4:Eu^{3+}$ powders are synthesized by a solid-state reaction process using LiCl and $Li_2SO_4$ fluxes. The photoluminescence (PL) excitation spectra of the synthesized powders consist of broad bands at approximately 270 nm and sharp peaks in the near ultraviolet region, which are assigned to the $Nb^{5+}-O^{2-}$ charge transfer of $[NbO_4]^{3-}$ niobates and the f-f transition of $Eu^{3+}$, respectively. The PL emission spectra exhibit red peaks assigned to the $^5D_0{\rightarrow}^7F_J$ transitions of $Eu^{3+}$. The strongest peak is obtained at 614 nm ($^5D_0{\rightarrow}^7F_2$), indicating that the $Eu^{3+}$ ions are incorporated into the $Lu^{3+}$ asymmetric sites. The addition of fluxes causes the increase in emission intensity, and $Li_2SO_4$ flux is more effective for enhancement in emission intensity than is LiCl flux. The substitution of $Ta^{5+}$ for $Nb^{5+}$ results in an increase or decrease in the emission intensity of $LuNb_{1-x}Ta_xO_4:Eu^{3+}$ powders, depending on amount and kind of flux. The findings are explained using particle morphology, modification of the $[NbO_4]^{3-}$ structure, formation of substructure of $LuTaO_4$, and change in the crystal field surrounding the $Eu^{3+}$ ions.

Observations on the Modulated Structure in Pyrochlore-type Compounds, $In_2(Ti_{1.7}Zn_{0.3})O_{0.67}$ and $In_2(Ti_{1.7}Mg_{0.3})O_{6.7}$ (Pyrochlore형 화합물 $In_2(Ti_{1.7}Zn_{0.3})O_{0.67}$$In_2(Ti_{1.7}Mg_{0.3})O_{6.7}$에서의 변조구조 관찰)

  • Microstructural observations on the pyrochlore-type $Lu_2Ti_2O_7$ and the similar type of compounds, $In_2(Ti_{1.7}Zn_{0.3})O_{6.7}$ and $In_2(Ti_{1.7}Mg_{0.3})O_{6.7}$ which were made by the isothermal heat-treatment at 1623K for 18 days in Pt tube, were carried out using a top-entry HRTEM working at 200 kV. The modulated structures were found in both compounds, however, not in $Lu_2Ti_2O_7$. From the electron diffraction pattern analysis, the modulated superlattices are incommensurate and are 2.69 times of sublattices along (220) direction. The high resolution TEM images have shown that the superlattices consist of alternate superlattices which are composed of two or three sublattices, resulting in the average of 2.7 times of sublattices in accordance with the analysis of electron diffraction patterns. The crystal structures of both compounds are found to quite similar to those of pyrochlore, however the evidence that the cubic axes are slightly deviated from right angle. The modulated structure has gradually changed to the unmodulated structure induced by electron irradiation.

Optimization of Model based on Relu Activation Function in MLP Neural Network Model

  • This paper focuses on improving accuracy in constrained computing settings by employing the ReLU (Rectified Linear Unit) activation function. The research conducted involves modifying parameters of the ReLU function and comparing performance in terms of accuracy and computational time. This paper specifically focuses on optimizing ReLU in the context of a Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) by determining the ideal values for features such as the dimensions of the linear layers and the learning rate (Ir). In order to optimize performance, the paper experiments with adjusting parameters like the size dimensions of linear layers and Ir values to induce the best performance outcomes. The experimental results show that using ReLU alone yielded the highest accuracy of 96.7% when the dimension sizes were 30 - 10 and the Ir value was 1. When combining ReLU with the Adam optimizer, the optimal model configuration had dimension sizes of 60 - 40 - 10, and an Ir value of 0.001, which resulted in the highest accuracy of 97.07%.

Acceleration of LU-SGS Code on Latest Microprocessors Considering the Increase of Level 2 Cache Hit-Rate (최신 마이크로프로세서에서 2차 캐쉬 적중률 증가를 고려한 LU-SGS 코드의 가속)

  • An approach for composing a performance optimized computational code is suggested for latest microprocessors. The concept of the code optimization, called here as localization, is maximizing the utilization of the second level cache that is common to all the latest computer system, and minimizing the access to system main memory. In this study, the localized optimization of LU-SGS (Lower-Upper Symmetric Gauss-Seidel) code for the solution of fluid dynamic equations was carried out in three different levels and tested for several different microprocessor architectures most widely used in these days. The test results of localized optimization showed a remarkable performance gain up to 7.35 times faster solution, depending on the system, than the baseline algorithm for producing exactly the same solution on the same computer system.
