  • This paper examines the sampling and jitter specifications and considerations for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) software receivers. Software radio (SWR) technologies are being used in the implementation of communication receivers in general and GNSS receivers in particular. With the advent of new GPS signals, and a range of new Galileo and GLONASS signals soon becoming available, GNSS is an application where SWR and software-defined radio (SDR) are likely to have an impact. The sampling process is critical for SWR receivers, where it occurs as close to the antenna as possible. One way to achieve this is by BandPass Sampling (BPS), which is an undersampling technique that exploits aliasing to perform downconversion. BPS enables removal of the IF stage in the radio receiver. The sampling frequency is a very important factor since it influences both receiver performance and implementation efficiency. However, the design of BPS can result in degradation of Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) due to the out-of-band noise being aliased. Important to the specification of both the ADC and its clocking Phase- Locked Loop (PLL) is jitter. Contributing to the system jitter are the aperture jitter of the sample-and-hold switch at the input of ADC and the sampling-clock jitter. Aperture jitter effects have usually been modeled as additive noise, based on a sinusoidal input signal, and limits the achievable Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Jitter in the sampled signal has several sources: phase noise in the Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO) within the sampling PLL, jitter introduced by variations in the period of the frequency divider used in the sampling PLL and cross-talk from the lock line running parallel to signal lines. Jitter in the sampling process directly acts to degrade the noise floor and selectivity of receiver. Choosing an appropriate VCO for a SWR system is not as simple as finding one with right oscillator frequency. Similarly, it is important to specify the right jitter performance for the ADC. In this paper, the allowable sampling frequencies are calculated and analyzed for the multiple frequency BPS software radio GNSS receivers. The SNR degradation due to jitter in a BPSK system is calculated and required jitter standard deviation allowable for each GNSS band of interest is evaluated. Furthermore, in this paper we have investigated the sources of jitter and a basic jitter budget is calculated that could assist in the design of multiple frequency SWR GNSS receivers. We examine different ADCs and PLLs available in the market and compare known performance with the calculated budget. The results obtained are therefore directly applicable to SWR GNSS receiver design.

  • The waviness of Large Discontinuity rock is the one of important elements that judges the stability of rock slope. When the waviness of large discontinuity is measured in the field, there are many limitations Therefore this research was carried out to measure waviness of large rock discontinuities using 3D laser scanner to supplement this problem. This research established one 3D model that actual X, Y and Z coordinates through the integrated data gained from one that calculates waviness of base lock using CAD program was compared and analyzed to that of disc-clinometer. As its results, the high reliability of results could be recognized as it belongs to mechanical tolerance $1{\sim}2^{\circ}$ and the results belong to the measured values of Mean DIP and Mean are all within $1^{\circ}$. So, the investigation method of waviness of large discontinuity rock face using 3D laser scanner was verified as more prompt, effective and reliable method than conventional direct site measuring method.

  • The purpose of this study lies in understanding how the spectrum assigned for each mobile operator affects the consumers of mobile service. For this purpose, we have observed the change of path coefficient in the structural equation, using control variables. However, the structure of the mobile service market in Korea has become fixed. Considering this tendency and the conclusion of this study, the 'lock-in effect' occurs seriously in the mobile service market in Korea. It can be explained by the fact that CS(Customer Satisfaction) of the cellular subscribers little affects customer loyalty but the market dominance of the cellular service in the actual market has continued for a long time. In this study, we figured out a strong prejudice about call quality, which is caused by spectrum difference among competitors. Cellular subscribers tends to believe that call quality of their cellular service is better than that of PCS. In addition, we found that PCS operators can catch customer's retention by investment into network in order to increase call quality.

  • This paper presents a step-down DC-DC buck converter with a CCM/DCM dual-mode function for the internal power stage of portable electronic device. The proposed converter that is operated with a high frequency of 1 MHz consists of a power stage and a control block. The power stage has a power MOS transistor, inductor, capacitor, and feedback resistors for the control loop. The control part has a pulse width modulation (PWM) block, error amplifier, ramp generator, and oscillator. In this paper, an external capacitor for compensation has been replaced with a multiplier equivalent CMOS circuit for area reduction of integrated circuits. In addition, the circuit includes protection block, such as over voltage protection (OVP), under voltage lock out (UVLO), and thermal shutdown (TSD) block. The proposed circuit was designed and verified using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process parameter by Cadence Spectra circuit design program. The SPICE simulation results showed a peak efficiency of 94.8 %, a ripple voltage of 3.29 mV ripple, and a 1.8 V output voltage with supply voltages ranging from 2.7 to 3.3 V.

  • Using the Korean Survey of Household Finances and Living Conditions panel data from 2012~2016, this study analyzed youth (19~34 years) poverty and employment and examined the factors that affect employment status. The analysis revealed an increase in the proportion of young people who are students or jobless; the economic conditions of the young people varied by factors such as marital status, education, job status, and loans; and the government public transfer policy had little impact on reducing the relative poverty rate of the youth. We also examined the factors affecting the youth's employment status and the risk of being employed in low-paid jobs, using multi-logit and logit regression model respectively. Considering employment status, the older and more educated the youth were, the less frequently they were employed in temporary or daily jobs instead of regular ones, but there was no difference between genders in terms of having temporary or daily jobs. A logit analysis on the determinants of low-paid jobs demonstrated that women, the less educated, spouses or children of the household, and temporary or daily workers have a greater probability of working at low-paid jobs. As women became older, their risk of having low-paid jobs increased, which demonstrated the phenomenon of "lock-in" at low-paid jobs. Temporary or daily workers of all age groups faced a higher risk of lowpaid employment, which stood out for the youth. Based on these results, we suggest that government employment and welfare policies should consider individual characteristics of the youth and their life cycle, along with efforts to supply decent jobs, continuously and stably.

  • In a customer-based industry, customer retention is the competitiveness of a company, and improving customer retention improves the competitiveness of the company. Therefore, accurate prediction and management of potential dormant customers is paramount to increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise. In particular, there are numerous competitors in the domestic card industry, and the government is introducing an automatic closing system for dormant card management. As a result of these social changes, the card industry must focus on better predicting and managing potential dormant cards, and better predicting dormant customers is emerging as an important challenge. In this study, the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) methodology was used to predict potential dormant customers in the card industry, and in particular, Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) was used to efficiently learn data for a long time. In addition, to redefine the variables needed to predict dormant customers in the card industry, Unified Theory of Technology (UTAUT), an integrated technology acceptance theory, was applied to redefine and group the variables used in the model. As a result, stable model accuracy and F-1 score were obtained, and Hit-Ratio proved that models using LSTM can produce stable results compared to other algorithms. It was also found that there was no moderating effect of demographic information that could occur in UTAUT, which was pointed out in previous studies. Therefore, among variable selection models using UTAUT, dormant customer prediction models using LSTM are proven to have non-biased stable results. This study revealed that there may be academic contributions to the prediction of dormant customers using LSTM algorithms that can learn well from previously untried time series data. In addition, it is a good example to show that it is possible to respond to customers who are preemptively dormant in terms of customer management because it is predicted at a time difference with the actual dormant capture, and it is expected to contribute greatly to the industry.

  • A study on the application of impedance phase angle for redox titration, acid-base titration, chelate titration and precipitation titration has been carried out. A constant alternating current was passed between two platinum electrodes. One of them was a polarizable micro-electrode of $0.1cm^2$ or $0.026cm^2$ surface area and the other a non-polarizable large electrode of $1cm^2$ surface area dipped in the solution to be titrated. The impedance and the phase angle of the titration cell were measured with lock-in amplifier to obtain well behaved titration curve respectively. In titration of oxalic acid vs. potassium permanganate, the end-point was obtained successfully from the phase angle titration curve. In this experiment, the concentration of 0.0005 M to 0.05 M, the current of $50{\mu}A$ and the frequency of near 50 Hz were used. In titration of phosphoric acid vs. sodium hydroxide, the first end-point was obtained successfully on the optimum experimental condition of 0.001 M concentration, $50{\mu}A$ current and 25~97 Hz frequency. However, the end-point in titration of cupric sulfate vs. disodium-EDTA couldn't be obtained clearly. The end-point was obtained with the out-of-phase impedance curve on the experimental condition of 0.01 M concentration, $100{\mu}A$ current, 5~35 Hz frequency range. In titration of sodium chloride vs. silver nitrate, the end-point was obtained successfully on the experimental condition of 0.1 M concentration, $100{\mu}A$ current and 5~47 Hz frequency range. This study showed that the impedance phase angle was applicable for the detection of the end-points in redox titration curve, acid-base titration curve, chelate titration curve and precipitation titration curve.

  • The prefetching technique is an effective way to reduce the latency caused memory access. However, excessively aggressive prefetch not only leads to cache pollution so as to cancel out the benefits of prefetch but also increase bus traffic leading to overall performance degradation. In this thesis, a prefetch filtering scheme is proposed which dynamically decides whether to commence prefetching by referring a filtering table to reduce the cache pollution due to unnecessary prefetches In this thesis, First, prefetch hashing table 1bitSC filtering scheme(PHT1bSC) has been shown to analyze the lock problem of the conventional scheme, this scheme such as conventional scheme used to be N:1 mapping, but it has the two state to 1bit value of each entries. A complete block address table filtering scheme(CBAT) has been introduced to be used as a reference for the comparative study. A prefetch block address lookup table scheme(PBALT) has been proposed as the main idea of this paper which exhibits the most exact filtering performance. This scheme has a length of the table the same as the PHT1bSC scheme, the contents of each entry have the fields the same as CBAT scheme recently, never referenced data block address has been 1:1 mapping a entry of the filter table. On commonly used prefetch schemes and general benchmarks and multimedia programs simulates change cache parameters. The PBALT scheme compared with no filtering has shown enhanced the greatest 22%, the cache miss ratio has been decreased by 7.9% by virtue of enhanced filtering accuracy compared with conventional PHT2bSC. The MADT of the proposed PBALT scheme has been decreased by 6.1% compared with conventional schemes to reduce the total execution time.

  • This paper reviewed the legitimacy of the name of those sixteen pieces of hat artifacts known in Korean as pyeongjeongmo and currently housed by the National Palace Museum. This was undertaken in order to rectify the error of calling them pyeongjeongmo. Also, the paper suggested pyeongjeongmo's production method to apply representation of the artifacts or production of Joseon officials' hats as representation of ritual costumes in the royal court. The name pyeongjeongmo originated from pyeongjeonggeon. Gyeongguk Daejeon recorded that noksas wore yugak-pyeongjeonggeon and seoris wore mugak-pyeongjeonggeon, but the pyeongjeongmo artifacts housed in the National Palace Museum have been found irrelevant to those pyeongjeonggeons put on by both noksas and seoris. Rather, they has been confirmed as corresponding to dugeon or jogeon worn by byeolgams or suboks who served at the palace of the crown prince or princess. Through the investigation of the artifacts, the researchers could find out the tailoring and sewing methods, the finished look, and the folding manner of pyeongjeonggeon. Although the structure of pyeongjeonggeon was generally consistent, the frontal look was slightly different depending on the folding manner, resulting in three distinguished types of pyeongjeonggeon. Regardless, the pyeongjeongmo was made with one piece of fabric by a flat tailoring and folding method to create a three-dimensional hat. The finished shape appeared low in the front and high in the back side structure. The head girth was 55~59 cm, and the height was 19.4~21.5 cm. To make it with one piece of fabric, the head girth part was tailored in the same direction as the strands. Based on the artifact Changdeok 23820, this paper has also suggested a finished reproduction through the processes of preparing the materials, mounting, making the center ornaments, sewing and folding. The tailoring was completed with black silk fabric which was cut in a unique shape designed in advance, and hemp fabric which was mounted to the former. The top part of the head was finished with black threads, and the center line at the back was fixed with decolored cotton threads by blanket stitches with 3.5~4 cm intervals. Bamboo strands were inserted in the inside of the front-folded part, which then was fixed by patterned stitches with white cotton thread. At the back, a small bamboo clasp was attached so that one can lock it to the headband and prevent it from falling off.

  • During the period from 2001 to 2005, 29,892 burglaries took place in Korea with the approximate average annual number - 5,978 cases. This study was conducted to analyze the reported burglaries and the result was summarized as follows. There were 8,605 residential invasion burglaries (28.8%) as the most frequent characteristic pattern. The exit was used as the most frequent invasion route for 4,031 invasion burglaries (64.3%), and an unlocked exit door or window was used as the most frequent invasion method for 2,462 invasion burglaries (28.6%). The hours just after midnight (between 00:00 and 04:00) were the most frequent time for invasion burglary to occur. Also, 5,652 burglaries occurred on Wednesday which was twice higher than on Sunday (2,988 burglaries). It was shown that the number of persons injured during burglaries were 260 deaths and 10,610 injuries. The places of the highest occurrence were the street with 10,183 burglaries (34%) and then residential place with 7,527 burglaries (approximately 25%). One-man burglary was the highest complicity: 15,012 offenders (56.1%). The knife was used as the most frequent instrument for 6,498 burglaries (24,3%) what is rare, while no criminal tool or instrument was used for 15,631 burglaries (58.4). During the period from 2001 to 2006, 1,506 burglaries occurred in Daegu and the average annual number was 251 burglaries. Among those,515 residential invasion burglaries (34.2%) took place and the average annual number was approximately 86 cases. The hours just after midnight (between 00:00 and 04:00) were the most frequent time for invasion burglary to occur (194 cases, 37.7%), the place of the highest invasion occurrence was the residential place (259 cases, 50.3%), and the exit was used as the most frequent invasion route (87 cases, 37.7%). An unlocked exit door or window was the most frequent invasion method (65 cases, 25.1%). In addition, pretending to be a delivery man, visitor or following the victim methods were used for 26 burglaries (10%). It is apparent that personal preventive measures against crimes, as well as governmental and social measures, play an important role in preventing burglaries. In particular, based on the analyzed result that an unlocked window or exit door was most frequently used for reported burglaries, it seems that there is a lack of understanding of crime prevention while little effort has been made to prevent crimes. Although everyone knows that locking a door is one of the basic measures to prevent crimes, many people tend to pay little attention to lock a door properly so burglary takes place. This study, therefore, is intended to encourage people to pay more careful attention to crime prevention, in order to help reduce the probability of burglary. With the recent improvement in social understanding of scientific crime investigation, a wide variety of police professions, including crime analysts, crime victim police counselors and coroners, have been prepared to develop the scientific crime investigation and crime analysis. In addition, it is hoped that further this study will contribute to encourage studies on crime prevention to be carried out in the future.
