  • A new approach considering CO2 air pollution constraints in the long-term generation mix is proposed under uncertain circumstances. A characteristic feature of the presented approach in this paper is what effects give the air pollution constraints in long term best generation mix. Best generation mix problem is formulated by linear programming with fuel and construction cost minimization with load growth, reliability (reserve margin rate) and air pollutionconstraints. The proposed method accommodates the operation of pumped-storage generator. It was assumed in this study that the construction planning of the hydro power plants is given separately from the other generation plans. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by applying to the best generation mix problem of KEPCO-system, which contains nuclear, coal, LNG, oil and pumped-storage hydro plant multi-years.

  • After the construction of offshore plants, the function and integrity of system in offshore plants should be commissioned. As the executor of many FLNG projects, Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd has faced some challenges for commissioning which are not similar to those in other offshore project. This study shows the differences between the commissioning of typical offshore projects and the one of FLNG projects. By the characteristics of offshore, performing the commissioning activity of FLNG near shipyard as much as possible reduces the risk of malfunction. The possible solutions to achieve these strategies are introduced.

  • The new approach using fuzzy linear programming with fuzzy multi-criterion is proposed for the best generation mix of a power system. A chracteristic feature of the presented approach is that not only cost but also reliability for goal function can be taken into account by using fuzzy multi-criterion and so more realistic solution can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by the best generation mix problem of KEPCO-system size model which contains nuclear, coal, LNG, oil and pump-generator hydro plant in multi-years.

  • In this paper, two different types of natural gas liquefaction process are simulated and designed for secure a competitiveness in the industry of natural gas liquefaction plant. These processes are based on basic cascade process, and one of these is improved with two staged intercooler and the other is modified two staged intercooler. These processes are compared characteristics of performance with basic process. COP of cascade process with two staged intercooler and modified two staged intercooler showed about 13.74% and 21.64% higher than basic process, and yield efficiency of modified process improved comparing with the basic process by 25.93% lower specific power, respectively.

  • The seismic isolation technology has appeared to be increasingly necessary for highway brides LNG tank nuclear power plant and building structures in view of recent frequent earthquake vibrations in Korea. Also high-technology industries required effective seismic protection. The LRB(Lead Rubber Bearing) systen has been counted as the most effective way for seismic isolation which is now under development and widely used in industries. Hear the commercial FEM software for nonlinear analysis MARC has provided force-displacement curves on the rubber system. The analysis has been carried out about four cases ; 29.5mm and 59mm horizontal dislacements with/without a center hole. The unknown constants of the strain energy function of Ogden model have been obtained by a tension test,

The Seismic Isolation Bearing - High Damping Rubber Bearing - system has been counted as the most effective way fur seismic isolation, which is now under development and widely used in industries. The analyses have been carried out about fourteen cases; 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, 125% and 150% horizontal displacements with a different frequency - 0.01Hz and 0.50Hz - and 100% horizontal displacement with four different frequency - 0.01Hz, 0.16667Hz, 0.3333Hz and 0.50Hz.   • Orbital GTA welding is used in the pressure pipe line of auto-mobile, LNG and plant piping. To weld the pipe line safely, to some extent, the back bead must be formed in the root pass. In the plate welding the back bead can be observed, but in the pipe welding, the back bead can not be observed directly. In the welding around circumference, the parameters such as gravity, surface tension and arc force are different at each position. And then D/B for welding condition at each position are required. We also studied about the setting of the optimum orbital welding condition by controlling heat input.

  • Thermal power plants play an important role in the country's power supply, but often violate the Industrial Safety and Health Act due to lack of safety awareness about the incompatibility of electrical safety and safety facilities. In this study, safety diagnosis was performed for each of the five major thermal power plants in Korea. For the 18 sites including coal, LNG, and power plants, we investigate the main violations of Article 327 and conduct intensive analysis on repetitive electrical safety violations to propose preventive measures that meet the characteristics of the power plant.

  • A new approach using fuzzy dynamic programming is proposed for the flexible long-term generation mix under uncertain circumstances. A characteristic feature of the presented approach is that not only fuzziness in fuel and construction cost. load growth and reliability but also many constraints of generation mix can easily be taken into account by using fuzzy dynamic programming. The method can accommodate arbitrary shape of membership function as well as the operation of pump-generator. And so more realistic solution can be obtained. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by the best generation mix problem of KEPCO-system which contains nuclear, coal, LNG, oil and pump-generator hydro plant in multi-years.

프리플레이스트 경량골재 콘크리트를 사용한 합성형 구조모듈 제작 및 성능 평가 (The Development of Steel-plate Concrete Panels with Preplaced Lightweight Aggregates Concrete)

  • 최근 원자력 발전소 및 LNG 탱크의 외벽을 제작하는데 있어 강판 콘크리트(steel-plate concrete, SC)와 같은 합성형 구조모듈(steel-plate concrete panel, SCP)의 사용이 증가하고 있다. SCP는 공장에서 생산 한 후 이송되므로, 이송에 드는 비용을 줄이기 위해 경량화가 필수적이다. 이때 경량골재 콘크리트를 사용해 SCP의 내부를 채워 밀도를 낮출 수 있지만, 현재 콘크리트 배합법은 콘크리트의 품질을 확보하기 위해 경량골재의 사용량이 제한되어 경량화에 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 프리플레이스트 경량 콘크리트 배합법은 거푸집 내 경량골재를 먼저 채운 후(pre-packing) 그라우트를 주입하는 공법으로, 콘크리트의 품질확보 및 밀도를 낮출 수 있다. 다양한 종류의 경량골재 및 그라우트 배합을 사용해 실험을 수행하였고, 밀도 $1,600kg/m^3$, 압축강도 30MPa급 프리플레이스트 경량 콘크리트 배합비를 선정하여 SCP 시편을 제작하였다. 제작된 SCP 시편의 구조성능 시험을 위해 3점 휨 실험을 수행하였다. 고유동 콘크리트를 사용해 SCP의 내부를 채운 시편과 비교해 프리플레이스트 경량 콘크리트를 사용해 제작된 SCP 시편은 비슷한 수준의 휨 저항 성능을 보였으며 밀도가 30% 이상 낮았다. 따라서 프리플레이스트 경량 콘크리트를 사용해한 SCP 제작 시, 기존의 SCP와 비슷한 수준의 구조성능을 가지며 밀도를 낮춰 이송 비용을 감축할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
