A Simple Dual-Antenna Diversity Gain Measurement System at 2.4GHz

  • A simple measurement system is built to estimate the dual-antenna diversity gain at 2.4GHz easily in open lab environment. To obtain multipath fading propagation channel, the system consists of two transmission horn that placed on opposite direction and a rotating stage mechanically changing the position of test dual-antenna with time over distance greater than one wavelength. Estimated diversity is nearly same as theoretical value such that measured diversity gain of 30mm separated is about 6dB similar to theoretical value of 5.7dB and increases monotonically with the increasing separation distance as predicted by the theory. Proposed measurement system that is simple enough to fit in a small space can evaluate the performance of various dual-antennas with a reasonable accuracy with lower 5% difference between the ten sets of measured waveform distribution and theoretical Rayleigh cumulative distribution.

  • In TFT-LCD manufacturing process, various defects are generated by manufacturing machine trouble or particle. These defects can be repaired through the TFT-Laser repair process that only can't be automated in TFT-LCD manufacturing Process. In this Paper, we propose auto defect algorithm for TFT-LCD laser repair machine using image processing algorithm in order to automate process. Proposed algorithm can detect very small defects (< 2um) in 98% success ratio, and generated laser repair path guarantee highly precise position accuracy. Through proposed system, much of the work still done the old-fashioned way, by hand, can be automated and manufacturing company can be strengthed the competitiveness of cost.

  • The LG Electronics case shows the process whereby an organization evolves as a learning organization through the integration of e-learning and knowledge management. In other words, it shows the process whereby e-learning is recognized as an important means of solving a problem concerning actual worksite operations, as it became one of the daily activities in the organization. In terms of organizational learning, this process points to the fact that e-learning is emerging as the fastest and most effective means of transferring the internally shared value of a company. Recently, advanced corporations and organizations have been endeavoring to boost their internal and external customer satisfaction and customer loyalty, paving the way for changes in their organizational cultures, and establishing learning organizations through e-learning. Therefore, from an advanced viewpoint, e-learning within a company is not a simple system of transferring educational contents, but is a knowledge portal concept connected with knowledge management. To achieve this end, the organization is required to undergo changes that is, it should make the acquisition of learning possible through e-learning and a knowledge management system (KMS) in order to improve corporate performance. Since LG Electronics is utilizing e-learning as a strategic means to change the paradigm of corporate education, and, in particular, is attempting to integrate this with knowledge management, insights that will facilitate the understanding of the core success factors in and challenges to the integration of knowledge management and e-learning can be obtained through this case.

  • Currently co-work programs between industries and engineering schools play an important role for mutual interests, win-win strategy. Industries can develop new technologies through the human resources and facilities in school and schools are able to have research achievements by applying their own theoretical abilities to real field of industries's projects. However most co-work programs between industries and engineering schools mainly focus on programs such as research projects with graduate research lab, on-site training for job and training program for field engineers. And more it is difficult for schools to make co-work programs targeted engineering education for undergraduate school students because of many constraints such as planing program, budget and indifference of companies. Therefore this paper introduces LG Electronics Display Idea Competition hosted by LG Display Division in Kumi, S. Korea and present what benefits to both school and company made through this program and unique model of co-work program for engineering education between school and company in country.

  • This paper deals with the method of characteristic analysis of the capacitor-run single- phase induction motor having two poles (4-pole and 2-pole). This motor, which is referred to as a pole change motor in this paper, is capable of variable speed operation without inverters or drives. However, speed-torque curve can be distorted by the harmonic components contained in the magnetic flux density distribution. Therefore, the characteristics of this motor are analyzed using equivalent circuit considering harmonic components and the simulation results are compared with the experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 Agere Systems사의 네트워크 프로세서를 사용한 고성능 IP-DiffServ/IP-MPLS 시스템의 구조를 제안하고 성능을 분석한다. 제안한 시스템은 기가비트 이더넷 뿐만 아니라 ATM과 POS 등 다양한 인터페이스를 제공하며 코어 및 에지 라우터로서 MPLS LER 또는 LSR로의 역할을 수행한다. 성능분석은 OPNET을 사용하여 시스템을 모델링한 후 입력 트래픽에 대해서 DiffServ 클래스별 지연시간과 지연의 주된 원인을 분석한다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 시스템의 성능을 극대화할수 있는 네트워크 프로세서의 최적 파라메터를 도출한다. 성능분석 결과, 시스템이 각 서비스 클래스에 대해서 원활한 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 프리미엄 서비스에는 최고의 우선순위를 부여하여 큐에 데이터 블럭들이 찰 때 마다. 즉시 서비스해 주어야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 트래픽이 특정 출구 라인카드로 몰리는 핫스팟이 발생할 경우 트래픽의 지연이 증가하게되는데 이 지연의 주요 원인은 출구 라인카드에서의 큐잉에 의한 것임을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문은 HVAC(heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) 시스템에 대해 Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) 알고리즘을 이용하여 최적화된 Multi-Fuzzy 제어기 설계를 제안한다. HVAC 시스템의 효율과 안정도에 결정적인 영향을 미치는 과열도와 저압(증발기의 압력)을 제어하기 위해, 3대의 Expansion Valve 와 1대의 Compressor 에서 동시에 제어하는 Multi-Fuzzy 제어기를 설계한다. 그리고 최적화 알고리즘 중 하나인 사회적인 행동양식을 기반한 PSO 알고리즘을 이용하여 설계된 Multi-Fuzzy 제어기를 최적화한다. 시뮬레이션의 결과 비교를 통해, 대표적인 최적화 알고리즘인 유전자 알고리즘을 사용한 최적화된 제어기와 제안한 PSO 알고리즘을 이용한 최적화된 제어기의 성능을 평가한다.

Korean TableQA: Structured data question answering based on span prediction style with S3-NET

  • The data in tables are accurate and rich in information, which facilitates the performance of information extraction and question answering (QA) tasks. TableQA, which is based on tables, solves problems by understanding the table structure and searching for answers to questions. In this paper, we introduce both novice and intermediate Korean TableQA tasks that involve deducing the answer to a question from structured tabular data and using it to build a question answering pair. To solve Korean TableQA tasks, we use S3-NET, which has shown a good performance in machine reading comprehension (MRC), and propose a method of converting structured tabular data into a record format suitable for MRC. Our experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms a baseline in both the novice task (exact match (EM) 96.48% and F1 97.06%) and intermediate task (EM 99.30% and F1 99.55%).
