This study begins with the interests of the problems in learning a region under the Korean National Curriculum in geography field and the perceptions on the region which affects students 'formation of regional concept. The purposes of this study are to find problems in learning a region and to construct a new content for learning a region to improve the current problems. This study suggests that it is necessary for student to establish a clear concept on a region in order to effectively learn a region. Therefore, this study reviews how concepts on a region have changed and selects important elements in learning a region by considering a level of students' understanding. The important elements selected in this study are the definition of a region, the formation of a region, and the system of a region. By learning a real region established as a 'region for instruction' of a medium scale, students can reach an appropriate level of meaningful understanding of a region. This study found that an appropriate selection of scale in choosing the extent of a region was critical in success of effective organization of learning contents.

Interviewers asked 413 housewives about obove informations and then recorded. The results were as followes : Using the factor analysis processing, 17 questions about dietary attitudes and behaviors were categorized into 5 groups such as fidelity of diet, the healthful dietary attitudes, the eating practices concerning about items and amount, eating speed and the extent of coincidence in food preference within a family. The role of the housewives was a major factor affecting the dietary attitudes and behaviors. Those who work as housewives and farmers concurrently had good dietary practices concerning about items and amount, but they were interested about health-directed dietary attitudes at a significantly lower level. Food frequencies of 9 groups, animal protein food, fruits and vegetables, milk and milk products, small fishes such as anchovy, soybean curd and beans, seaweeds, vegetable oil, frying food, soybean paste were significantly associated with subjects' age, role, and education and income level. This research has dual purposes. First, it was designed to determine the level of children's spatial environment in the residences, thereby, to make a vision for children's furniture as an industrial design product. Second, it was intened to find out the children's perceptual pattern toward the furniture, thereby to give some implications for future design development. For the second purpose, descriptors were screened with construct validity and their factor structure was identified. The subjects were 1,197 children from 1st grade of elemantary school through 3rd grade of middle school, and their 1,197 parents for the first purpose, and 560 children from 6th grades of elemantary school and 3rd grade of middle school for the second purpose. The first parts of findings were 1) present interests of parents of household above middle income level in Seoul in making their children's spatial environment desirable is quite high. 2) Space segregation stage in terms of physical and conceptual aspects showed very fast development, that is, there will have been very good changes for children's room to be a very well furnished and independent space for them. 3) Children's opinions were quite well reflected when purchasing the present furniture, and this tendency seemed to be more likely happend in future. These findings mentioned above gave and confirmed the visions for future children's furnished environment. The second parts of findings were such that the perceptual pattern for furniture by children showed aesthetic design appearance, functionality and durability, and the characteristic of line. This result impliated especially that designers should be every careful to manipulate or use the line of the furniture products. The 22 representative descriptors selected can be used as an evaluation instrument for furniture products.
This study is to seek alternatives for regional governance related to transnational labor migration issues in Southeast Asia. This study examined the present situation and trends of labor migration in the region, reviewed involved transnational issues, and identified the current issues of governance to seek alternatives for regional governance. The increase in cross-border labor migration is no doubt a sign of growth and dynamism of the region and greater integration of their economies. But it also poses complex policy and management issues as well as transnational issues over such as unequal economic profits, illegal migration, human rights, and social security issues. In this reality, regional governance is a very important theme and the efforts to manage their migration inherently involve fundamental conflict and tension between related countries and regions. However, politics and governance of transnational migrant workers in Southeast Asia are still pursued at the national level. To resolve these issues, it is urgently required to secure not only collaboration between the parties concerned but also governance at the regional level. Findings of this study are: First, although labor migration has been a relatively long-time transnational issue, the history of addressing the issue at the regional governance is very short and still inceptive. Second, given its size, labor migration in Southeast Asia requires effective regional governance but no breakthrough was possible due to the conflict of interests between origin and destination countries and the conflict of logic between the labor market and the state. Third, the issue of labor migration is an important element for the formation of economic and socio-cultural communities the ASEAN countries have pursued. Fourth, it is urgently needed to seek alternatives for good and effective regional governance as a key to resolving these issues over migrant workers in Southeast Asia.
This study analyzed and investigated problems of local safety experience halls' spatial structure and media status. Improvements would be suggested after comprehending the need to execute safety education based on citizen's satisfaction and requests. Contents of safety experience space concept, display characteristics and types applied to local institution were analyzed. Safety experience centers with systemized protocols that opened after 2003 and were bigger than $5,000m^2$ were selected. We had three candidates and they were Seoul Gwangnaru Safety Experience Center, Boramea Safety Experience Center and Daegu Safety Theme Park. Going through checklists and interviewing official institutions that were in charge of safety hall educations helped comprehension of sample space status and detailed experimental presentation media. A survey was created based on this study and was distributed to users and non-users of safety experience halls. The survey consisted of general questions covering situations, awareness, level of interests, frequency and satisfaction level. The results were extracted with SPSS 18.0 through frequency analysis and cross tabulations. This research improvements through synthesized contemplation. For the resuits First, various experimental programs need to be supplemented in order to prevent accidents. Second, vivid experimental spaces need to be planned for active participation and users should be fully aware of safety hazard through education. Third, there weren't enough institutions compared to the education needs. Promoting and building more safety experience halls are dire. Finally, these suggestions of the results will be distributed in the planning of the exhibit hall.
This study has the following two focuses to analyze the changes in national-level locational pattern of the U.S. professional sports franchises during 1950-2001. The first is to empirically clarify spatial orientation in the changing locational pattern of sports franchises. The second is to identify compared characteristics of the relocation cases reflecting the orientation to other cases, for the variables indicative of franchises' and leagues' pursuits of their relocation-related interests ultimately affecting franchises' relocations, by employing a legit model. As a result of the analyses, sports franchises and leagues, respectively have shown spatial orientation toward relocating to and toward locating new franchises in southern and western areas, responding to the changes in U.S. urbanization pattern. And, relocation cases reflecting the orientation have displayed a feature of the higher annual population growth rate in destination urban area than in origin area, in comparison to other cases.
Since 2011, when the Korean government initiated STEAM education in schools, many STEAM programs have been developed and many researches on STEAM education have been published in Korea. This meta-analysis examined the effectiveness of STEAM education by calculating effect sizes using statistics from 177 studies that reported their efforts in examining the effectiveness of STEAM programs. The findings of this study are the followings: 1)the total mean effect size of STEAM education is above medium level(effect size=.69). 2)Mean effect sizes of all four effect factors are above medium level, .58-.74. Mean effect sizes are .65 for STEAM interests, .74 for STEAM capacity, .63 for STEAM academic achievement, and .58 for STEAM careers. 3)The mean effect size of STEAM education in middle schools is significantly higher than in other school levels. This result suggests that STEAM education is more effective in middle schools.
As the nail industry has grown, concerns on damages to natural nails due to nail services and interests on nail products have been increased. This study is on nail convergent strengtheners which reduce damages on natural nails, and especially focused on the use and awareness of nail strengtheners by nail technicians. First, documentary research on previous studies was conducted to define nail services, nail damages, and nail strengtheners. Preliminary survey and main survey was conducted by KSDC on-line survey tool and the result was analyzed by frequency analysis, cross analysis, and correlation analysis by KSDC advanced statistical program. As a result, nail technicians have the high level of awareness on characteristics, effects, how to use, and application process of nail strengtheners. Nail technicians are the mid level of awareness on the ingredients of nail strengtheners.
The outflow of defense technology can cause serious damage not only in terms of business losses, but also in terms of national security and national interests. Recently, the government has enacted the Defense Technology Security Act, recognizing the importance of technology in the defense industry, and prepared guidelines for the defense technology security accordingly. According to the law, institutions and companies with defense technologies should establish a defense technology protection system, and the government should implement various technology protection policies to improve their level of technology protection. In this study, the implications were derived by comparing existing technology protection guidelines and priority analysis was performed on the protection system details through AHP for self-diagnosis items in the defense technology security guidelines. As a result, it is expected that it will enable efficient diagnosis of the level of protection and policy support for the systematic establishment of the protection system for the target institutions.
