페튜니아 일대 잡종에서 생육관련 형질의 상호관계 및 조합능력 (Inter-Relationship and Combining Ability of Plant Growth in F1 Hybrids of Petunia hybrida)

  • 페튜니아 6개 계통을 이면교배한 F1 15개 조합 및 양친에 대한 엽장, 엽폭, 분지수, 엽수, 엽면적, 생체중 및 건물중 등의 형질에 대하여 상호관계 및 조합능력을 분석하였다. 엽면적과 생체중은 엽장, 엽폭, 분지수 및 엽수 등 모든 형질들과 유의성이 인정되는 정의 상관관계를 보였고 건물중은 엽장, 엽폭 및 생체중과 고도의 정의 상관관계를 보였으나 엽수와 엽장과는 상관관계가 없었다. 조합능력의 분산은 일반조합능력이나 특수조합능력 모두 7가지 형질에서 유의성이 인정되었으며 특수조합능력의 분산구성분이 일반조합능력의 분산구성분 보다 크게 작용하여 이들 형질의 유전에는 비상가적 유전자 작용이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 모본의 일반조합능력에서 D와 G계통은 엽장증가에 대한 효과가 컸으며, C와 D계통은 분지수, 엽수 및 엽면적증가에 대하여 일반조합능력이 컸고, 생체중 및 건물중 증가를 위해서는 C, D와 G계통들이 일반조합능력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. D×E조합, D×G조합 및 E×G조합은 엽장, 엽폭, 분지수, 엽수, 엽면적, 생체중 및 건물중 등의 모든 조사형질에서 특수조합능력 효과가 높았다. 유전력은 7가지 형질 모두 광의의 유전력이 크게 나타났고 엽폭 및 건물중은 광의와 협의의 유전력 모두가 높게 나타났다.

  • The interrelationships between growth rates (and size) of the selected cranifacial dimensions and body dimensions (height and weight) were investigated in the longitudinal data of primary school children from 6 to 11 years of age. The data were obtained from serial cephalometric radiographs and health record which were taken at one year interval. Regression analyses were used to analyze the data. The main concludions might be summarized as follows; 1. Size relationships between body height (and weigh) and S-Gn, posterior facial height (s-Go), total mandibular length (Ar-Gn) showed high significant correlation, but no association between body height, weight and anterior cranial base length (S-N). 2. Correlation coefficients between facial dimensions and body height (and weight) were getting lower with age increase. 3. At all age groups, significant prediction equation for some facial dimensions with body height and weight were obtained. 4. In this sample, the growth rates of facial dimensions and body height and weight showed almostly constant during this age period and the growth rate of body height and weight of girls was exceeded that of boys. 5. A relatively high degree of variation between individuals existed in the sample. 6. A positive correlation was found for the relationship between the growth rates of facial dimensions and those of body height (and weight) in boys and girls, but was not found in total samples.

Growth Properties of Central and Peripheral Ramets in a Zoysia sinica's Clone

  • A natural, tidal-flat clone of Zoysia sinica was studied to compare ramet growth properties in central area with in peripheral area. In new stolon and rhizome, internode length, weight, shoot height and weight, and spike production were monitored on July 25, 2004. The weight/height rate of shoot between stolon and rhizome, the shoot/stolon (or rhizome) rate in weight between central and peripheral area were not different. However, other properties differed in stolon from rhizome or between central and peripheral area significantly differed: 1. The rhizome in central area had a larger node number, shorter internode length, higher shoot height, larger shoot biomass, and higher rate of non-shoot nodes than that in peripheral area. 2. The stolon in central area had a smaller node number, shorter internode length, and smaller biomass than that in peripheral area. 3. In the same area, the rhizome had a larger node number (except for central area), shorter internode, higher shoot height, larger shoot biomass, higher rate of non-shoot node, and higher rate of node having over two shoots than the stolon. No relationship could be found between shoot size and spike production in shoot on vertical rhizome (lower node of old shoot).

임신 분기별 모체의 혈장 호모시스테인 농도와 임신결과 (Maternal Plasma Homocysteine Levels and Pregnancy Outcomes)

  • Elevated maternal plasma homocysteine concentrations have been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including birth defects, low birth weight, preeclampsia, spontaneous abortion, placental abruption, and other maternal or fetal complications. The purpose of this study was to assess the maternal plasma homocysteine level during pregnancy and to investigate the relationship between the plasma homocysteine concentrations and pregnancy outcomes. Venous blood samples were drawn from 82 pregnant women who were grouped with gestational age, 1st trimester (n = 26), 2nd trimester (n = 27) and 3rd trimester (n = 29). The concentration of plasma homocysteine was analyzed by HPLC, and pregnancy outcomes including gestational length, maternal weight gain, infant birth weight, and Apgar score were collected with the medical records of the pregnant women. The levels of plasma homocysteine of the pregnant women at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester were 5.7 $$\pm$ 3.7\mu㏖/L,\;5.6 \pm4.1\mu㏖/L\; and\; 7.0\pm 4.5\mu㏖/L$, respectively, which had not showed any significant difference. The result of this study showed that in case of the pregnant women at the 1st trimester, the maternal plasma homocysteine level of the pregnant women whose gestational length was less than 38 weeks was significantly high (p < 0.01) compared to that of the pregnants whose gestational length was more than 38 weeks. And also, the level of homocysteine of the pregnant women at the 2nd trimester was significantly low when the maternal weight gain was high (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that maternal plasma homocysteine level at early stage of gestation will be a predicter of gestational length and maternal weight gain.

윤충류 생체량 계산과 적용에 관한 고찰 및 제언: Polyarthra의 체장 분포를 이용한 길이-무게 관계식 및 생체량 비교 분석 (Calculation and Applicability of Rotifers Biomass (Polyarthra spp.) based on Length-Weight Relationship and Spatial Distribution of Body Length)

  • 본 연구에서는 다른 환경에서 채집된 윤충류 개체의 체장을 측정하고 기존에 제시된 윤충류 생체량 측정 방법에 적용하여, 생체량 값의 분포 검증 및 비교를 실시하였다. 이를 바탕으로 적절한 윤충류 생체량 계산 방법에 대해 고찰하고, 체장 측정 없이 종별 생체량의 대푯값을 사용하는 것이 가능한지에 대한 여부를 판단했다. 검증을 위한 대상으로 국내외적으로 우점하고 단순한 형태를 가지는 Polyarthra 속을 선정, 한강, 낙동강 및 팔당호에서 시료를 채집, 분석하였다. 지점에 따른 Polyarthra spp. 개체의 체장은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내어, 지점별 체장의 차이가 생체량 대푯값을 이용하는데 발생하는 오차의 원인이 될 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 보다 정확한 생체량 계산을 위해 윤충류 개체의 체장 측정은 필수적인 것으로 판단되며, 생체량 계산 시 오차가 5% 이하일 확률을 99% 이상으로 높이기 위해서는 44개체 이상의 체장을 측정해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 측정한 체장을 이용한 생체량 계산에는 EPA 계산식 대비 McCauley (1984)의 계산식을 사용하는 것이 보다 적합할 것으로 보이지만, 기술 검증이 어려운 항목이기 때문에 향후 본 조사에서 보여진 지점 간 변이 이외에 윤충류의 복잡한 형태 및 다양한 부속지의 변화 등을 고려하여 다양한 종을 대상으로 한 추가적인 분석이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 1969년 6월부터 1970넌 4월까지의 사이에 경남 거제군 둔덕면 법동리 앞바다에서 수하식으로 양식하고 있는 진주담치에 대해 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 진주담치의 산란 성기는 $3\~4$월 사이라고 생각된다. 2. 진주담치의 성장식은 $$Y\;=\;1.508+0.659X-0.0559X^2+0.00367X^3$$으로 표시할 수 있고 특히 6월과 10월의 성장이 빠른 편이다. 3. 성장에 따라서 각군의 분산도 차차 커지는데 이 결과는 다음에서 보는 바와 같다. 4. 진주담치의 수명은 1년 6개월 내외로서 탈락 시기는 8월부터 10월 사이이다. 따라서 7월 이전에 수확해야 한다. 5. 진주담치의 최대 크기는 각고 9.48cm, 각장 4.49cm, 각폭 3.55cm, 각중량 22.05g 및 육중량 19.25g 내외이다. 6. 상대성장식은 각각 다음과 같다. 각고에 대한 각장은 Y=0.486X+0.334 각고에 대한 각폭은 Y=0.359X+0.107 육중에 대한 각중은 Y=0.882X+0.901 각고에 대한 육중은 $$Y\;=\;0.02828X^{2.90518}$$

Correlation Coefficient Studies on Certain Quantitative Traits in the Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

  • To understand the relationship among different quantitative traits, correlation studies were performed by utilizing eighty-eight inbred strains of silkworm, Bombyx mori L. on twelve economic characters. Analysis resulted in correlation of 5th instar period with total larval period (r = 0.7882), cocoon weight with shell weight (r = 0.8326), shell weight with shell ratio (r = 0.5067), shell ratio with raw silk % (r = 0.7570), raw silk % with filament length (r = 0.3490), filament size (denier) with reelability (r = 0.3193) and boil-off loss % (r = 0.2792). Negative correlation was observed among filament length with filament size (r = 0.7582) and reelability with boil-off loss % (r = -0.3236). Correlation of different quantitative characters for quality silk production is discussed.

뇌졸중 환자의 체중지지 비대칭과 보행 대칭성의 관련성 (The Relation between asymmetric weight-supporting and gait symmetry in patients with stroke)

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between weight-supporting asymmetry and gait symmetry in patients with stroke. Methods : Sixty two stroke patients with hemiplegia stood quietly with eye opens on a force platform to calculate weight-supporting asymmetry from vertical reaction force. The GAITRite was used to evaluate their gait parameters. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation. Results : The results of this study was showed that the medio-lateral index (ML) was correlated with symmetry rate (SR), symmetry index (SI), and Gait asymmetry (GA) of step time and length but stronger correlation with spatial gait symmetry than temporal symmetry. In gait symmetry, step length has stronger correlation with weight-supporting asymmetry than step time. Conclusions : The results of this study shows weight-supporting asymmetry was correlated with more spatial gait symmetry than temporal symmetry.

  • 1994년 1월부터 1994년 12월까지 전라북도 군산시 하제 연안에 서식하는 개량조개의 성장을 조사하였다. 개량조개의 패각에 나타나는 윤문은 년 1 회 형성되며 주 윤문 형성시기는 8월에서 9월로 조사되었다. 초륜 형성기간은 15 개월 (1.25년)로 나타났다. 각장 (SL) 과 전중 (TW) 간의 관계는 TW = 2.2476 $\times$ $10^{-5}$ SL$^{3.536}$ 이었으며, 각장 (SL) 과 각고 (SH) 간의 관계는 SH = 0.7545 SL - 0.0145 이고, 각장 (SL) 과 각폭 (SW) 간의 관계는 SW = 0.5336 SL - 2.4253 였다. 연령 (t) 에 대한 각장 (SL$_{t}$ ) 과 전중(TW$_{t}$ ) 의 Bertalanffy 성장식은 SL$_{t}$ =60.02[1 - e$^{-0.6458(t-0.3895)}$ ], 이고 Twt = 43.63[1 - e$^{0.6458(t-0.3895)}$ ]$^{3.536}$ 였다.

한국 서해산 일본재첩, Corbicula japonica Prime의 연령과 성장 (Age and Growth of the Brackish Water Clam, Corbicula japonica Prime on the West Coast of Korea)

  • Samples of Corbicula japonica Prime of Jujin estuary in Gochang were collected from July 2000 to September 2001. Age of C. japonica was determined from the rings on the shell. The relationship between shell length and ring radius in each ring group was expressed as a regression line. Therefore, there is a correspondence in each ring formation. Based on the monthly variation of the marginal index (MI') of the shell, it is assumed that the ring of this species was formed once a year during the period of February and March. The relationship between shell length (SL; mm) and total weight (TW; g) was expressed by the following equation: TW = 1.0942 ${\times}10^{-4}SL^{3.3217}$ ($r^2$ = 0.9905). Shell length (SL) and shell height (SH; mm) was highly correlated with shell height as the following equation: SH = 0.9174 SL - 0.9935 ($r^2$ = 0.9885). The shell length (SL) - shell width (SW) relation was also expressed by the following equation; SW = 0.5925 SL - 1.1706 ($r^2$ = 0.9726). Growth curves for shell length and total weight fitted to the von Bertalanffy's growth curve were expressed as: $$SL_t = 46.4861[1-e^{-0.3383(t+0.0958)}]$$, $$TW_t = 34.54[1-e^{-0.3383(t+0.0958)}]^3.3217$$.
