방전램프의 역률 보상용 콘덴서를 이용한 저가형 LED 구동회로 (Low-Cost LED Driver Circuit using Power Factor Compensation Capacitor of Discharge Lamp)

  • Now it's a trend to install a series of white fluorescent light and orange high pressure sodium lamps because tunnel lighting should be opaque to the safety of drivers from soot, dust, humidity, and fog. Also fluorescent lighting is replaced to LED due to the fact that it improves amenity and object recognition and LED lighting has gradually been improved its nature. In this paper, we have implemented the circuits of the yellow series of high-pressure sodium lamps and white series of LED lights at one board to improve the transparency and recognition of objects. It is possible for inductive high-pressure sodium lamps and the capacitive LED drivers to circuit without power factor compensation. Two circuit parts share only a small number of parts, so low cost LED drivers compared to conventional ones are possible. Therefore, the implementation of the hybrid lighting with high-pressure sodium lamps and LED lights that can be driven at the same time by one driving circuit is possible. The LED capacitive power factor was 0.91 while individually implemented the sodium lamp power factor was 0.98. It shows not only the 2% improvement of hybrid forms but also the efficiency and THD.

선박용 LED Chamber Light의 열 및 광학 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal and Optical Properties of a LED Chamber Light for Vessels)

  • Recently, LED is widely used in the kinds of display devices or lighting. In this paper, we fabricated LED chamber light for naval vessels to replace to conventional chamber light using incandescent lamp. The LED package of chamber light was designed with luminous intensity of 5.5 cd, color temperature of $6,000{\pm}500K$, forward voltage of 3~3.2 V and input current of 60 mA. A LED module was composed of 36 LED packages and metal PCB. The VF and luminous intensity of LED package were getting down when temperature increased. The temperature of LED chamber light was measured by changing the number of LED package and applied current for one hour when an electric current flow. The heat transfer capability have been improved by using metal PCB. The power consumption of LED chamber light reduced by 86% compared to the conventional chamber light using incandescent lamp.

사무공간에서 형광램프 조명기구와 백색 LED 조명기구의 색온도 비교를 통한 선호도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preference of Fluorescent Lamp and White LEDs by the Comparison of Color Temperature in a Office Space)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the luminous environment of fluorescent lamp and LED lamp in a office space for various color temperature by subject response test. For this, three different color temperatures were tested for the same illuminance level. Based on such test results for various color temperatures of fluorescent lamp and white LEDs, this study is to analyze the preferences of color temperature and light source, and perceptional brightness of each light source and color temperature. Then, this study is to derive the guidelines for the performance of color temperature which are suitable on the purpose and the mood of a office space.

  • For the safety of aircraft, aviation obstacle lights must be attached to the transmission towers in accordance with the governing law. Aviation obstacle lights which consist of solar cells, batteries. xenon lamps and a regulator substituted for aviation obstacle lights using AC power. A xenon lamp has advantage such as high brightness but also has disadvantage like large power consumption which cause lighting system to have many solar cells and batteries. This paper introduces an application of a aviation obstacle light using LED lamp through the economic analysis between LED lamp and xenon lamp.

전기조명의 사회기술전환 연구 : 백열램프에서 형광램프로 (A Study on the Socio-Technical Transition in Electric Lighting : from Incandescent Lamp to Fluorescent Lamp)

  • Technology for electric lighting has been evolving from Incandescent Lamp(IL) through Fluorescent Lamp(FL) and currently to Solid State Lighting(SSL) such as LED for more than 130 years of time. However, it took more than 100 years until the transition from IL to FL across overall society. That is because the transition is the Socio-Technical Transition(STT) which involves various social elements. This study investigated and analyzed the theories regarding STT, and applied the Multi-Level Perspective(MLP) theory to the case of electric lighting. A qualitative contents analysis was used with secondary data as research method, and the analyzed result was visualized based on the frame of MLP theory. The STT of electric lighting from IL to FL took place as the order of Technical Niche, Socio-Technical Regime and Landscape. Specifically, in Technical Niche level: Establishing Market Niche, Price-Performance Improvement, Learning Process and Support of Powerful Group took place. In Socio-Technical Regime level: Changes in Social Network, Changes in Technology and Changes in Rules. In Landscape level: Macro-Political Development, Socio-Economic Trends and Macro-Economic Trends took place in consecutive order.

기상예보를 이용한 태양광 LED 가로등의 효율적 운용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Management of Solar Powered LED Street Lamp Using Weather forecast)

  • 본 논문에서는 가로등 운용에 있어서 일기예보 및 일조량을 고려한 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이 알고리즘에 의해 생성된 Weather Factor를 적용하여 보행자가 있을 시에는 가로등의 광량을 최대로 유지하고 보행자가 없을 경우 최대전력을 사용하지 않고 일정한 밝기를 유지하는 대기전력모드를 사용하여 전력소비를 줄였다. 이렇게 함으로써 배터리의 잔량을 확보할 수 있으며 이를 이용하여 부조일이 지속될 경우 운용일수를 최대한 연장하기 위한 적절한 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 이러한 알고리즘에 필요한 Weather Factor의 값을 실험을 통하여 결정하였으며. 모의실험을 통해 알고리즘의 적합성을 확인하였다.

AC/DC 12~254 V로 동작하는 방폭 LED Signal Lamp용 방폭 회로의 특성 분석 (Characteristic Analysis of a Ex Circuit of Ex LED Signal Lamp Operating with AC/DC 12~254 V)

  • In this paper, we develop a explosion-proof LED lighting (Ex circuit) circuit of Explosion-proof LED Signal Lamp (Ex LSL) to utilize the core module of the explosion-proof Local Control System (Ex LCS) for offshore plant applications. And then analyzed its electrical, optical and thermal characteristics. Ex circuit was applied input voltage from AC/DC(12~254) V. In this experiments, stable light-on characteristics were confirmed by eyes for the every input voltages with min. 78,462 and max. $517,975cd/m^2$ of luminance. also Output current and output luminance was made proportional. Because the measured maximum surface temperature of Ex circuit was $54.23^{\circ}C$ at AC 48 V, Ex circuit was rated with T6 of temperature class. Finally, Ex circuit was shown stable light on characteristics under the $-50^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$ during 12 hours of test period.

발광다이오드 처리가 서양민들레의 항산화 활성 및 기능성 성분 함량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of LED (Light-Emitting Diode) Treatment on Antioxidant Activities and Functional Components in Taraxacum officinale)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of light spectrum using red (660 nm), blue (460 nm), red and blue mixed (Red : Blue = 6 : 4) LED (light-emitting diode), and fluorescent lamp on antioxidant activities and functional components of dandelion (Taraxacum officinale). Total polyphenol contents in dandelion irradiated with the red and blue mixed or the red LED were 121.77 mg/100 g or 115.36 mg/100 g, respectively, which were greater than those in dandelion treated with blue LED and fluorescent lamp. Asparagine showed the highest content among amino acids in leaves and roots regardless of treatments. Total amino acid was the highest when illuminated with the red LED. DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical-scavenging activity and SOD (super oxide dismutase) activity of ethanol extracts were increased under all of the LED treatments compared with fluorescent lamp, and the antioxidant activities were increased by the red and the mixed LED illumination. The results indicate that application of the red and the mixed LED illumination promote antioxidant activity and increase functional components during cultivation of dandelion.

LED용 Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu청색 형광체의 발광특성 (Luminescence Characteristics of Sr3MgSi2O8:Eu Blue Phosphor for Light Emitting Diodes)

  • Eu$^{2+}$를 활성제로 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$ 청색 형광체를 합성하고, Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체를 InGaN의 UV chip에 도포하여 청색 LED Lamp를 제조하였다. 제조된 청색 LED Lamp는 405nm와 460nm에서 두 개의 파장을 나타내고 있다. 405nm의 파장은 InGaN의 활성영역으로부터의 radiative recombination 때문에 나타나는 피크이다. 여기에서 나오는 405nm의 발광은 본 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체의 여기원으로 사용된다 460nm에서의 발광 밴드는 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$ 모체내에서 Eu$^{2+}$ 이온의 radiative recombination에 의한 것이다. 발광효율이 좋은 Sr$_3$MgSi$_2$ $O_{8}$:Eu 청색 형광체를 이용하여 UV 청색 LED Lmp를 제조한 결과, 에폭시와 청색 형광체의 무게 비율이 1$.$0.202에서 가장 좋은 광도값을 얻을 수 있었다. 이때 색좌표는 CIE x=0.1417, CIE y=0.0683이었다.
