The Effects of Transformational Leadership on Subordinate's Self-Efficacy and Subordinate's Acceptance Degree of Leader as Moderator (변혁적인 리더십이 부하의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향과 부하의 상사 수용도 조절효과)

  • This research is designed for studying between transformational leadership and behavior of subordinate. We took a practical analysis with conception of leader acceptance to search function between transformational leadership and self-efficacy. For practical proof of this research, we look hypothetical inspection with collected data after posing a question with medical Staff of 459. The practical analysis of this research is as below. First, We could know that transformational leadership affect partially positive effect to self-efficacy of subordinate. That is, as a result for researching into the influence of subordinate to self-efficacy, setting each element which forms transformational leadership as hypotheses, charismatic behavior and intellectual stimulation of leader's have an positive effect on self-efficacy of subordinate. However, there is no relation between individualized consideration and self-efficacy of subordinate. Second, we analyzed effect of subordinate's acceptance of leader between transformational leadership and acceptance degree of leader, we could know that all of them which is Two subordinate purpose of transformational leadership have a controling effects as there must be existed differences on self-efficacy before and after interaction. It is also another suggestion of this research to provide a clue to next research which is related with the importance of acceptance and it, conception, because we find the fact there could be existed the difference according to acceptance degree of leader.

  • According to social constructivism, group interaction is very important when students construct their knowledge. Many researchers have developed methods of teaching on the basis of group interaction because they recognized the importance of group interaction. There are a large variety of issues related to group interaction including group size, the gender and ability composition of groups, seating arrangements, textbook use, gestures, and role assignments. However, research on group interaction in science learning is still insufficient. In this study, we focused upon the emerging role of the primary leader. We investigated the primary leader's diverse role when students are solving mechanics problems. The participants were one group composed of three students in an upper-level mechanics class. To analyze these students' group interactions, their verbal interactions during meetings were videotaped and audiotaped during one-semester period. We also conducted interviews with the three students and analyzed their reports. As a result, we could find a special student who had the role of primary leader. We could also find the leader's three different leadership roles in different problem situations by inductively; explainer, facilitator and evaluator. Group interaction had different aspect according to the different role of leaders. The group interactions were the most active when the leader played the role of facilitator.

  • The 583 employees as subject for empirical analysis were selected by cluster sampling method in Banwol & Sihwa Industrial complex in Ansan area. This study shows the followings; 1. In the group where the task is unstructured and the subordinate's ability is high, the achievement-oriented and participative leader behavior have positive impact on the subordinate's expectancy. 2. In the group where the task is unstructured and the subordinate's ability is low, the directive leader behavior has positive impact on the subordinate's expectancy. 3. In the group where the task is structured and the subordinate's ability is high, the supportive leader behavior has positive impact on the subordinate's expectancy. 4. In the group where the task is structured and the subordinate's ability is low, only supportive leader behavior has positive impact on the subordinate's expectancy, and the directive leader behavior has no significant impact. 5. The subordinate's need for growth has a strong moderating effect in the relationship between leader behavior and job satisfaction. Finally this study indicates the implication for future theoretical and empirical development.

A Study of the Leader's Traits on the heirarchy of Nurse managers (간호관리자의 계층에 따른 지도자 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The Purpose of this study is to find out differences among the leader's traits on the hierarchy of Nurse managers in Nurse system of the hospital. In this study 152 managers over head nurse working in 6 University hospitals and 5 general hospitals were selected and the questionary paper answered by them was collected from 1st to 30th in September in 1997. The measuring instrument used in this study is the one integrated and classified by Stogdill (1981), which nurse professor and 2 students of the master's course translated and modified with myself. And its validity was verified through making a test on 130 nurses. The measuring instrument used in this study is made up of 4 items about physical characteristics, 3 items about social background, 4 items about intelligence and ability, 17 items about personaity, 6 items about task-related characteristics, 9 items about social characteristics and 8 items about general background in the triats of leader. And this instrument is made to be marked using five point Likert type. It's reliability is Cronbach's Alpha =.93. The data for study were analyzed through SPSS/PC+ The result of this study are as follows: 1. The order in importantly perceptible degree of the leader's traits showed like these: the intelligence and ability (M=4.683), the task-related characteristics (M=4.605), the personality (M=4.39), the social characteristics (M=4.327), the social back-ground (M=4.056), the physical characteristics (M=3.601). 2. The order in degree to percept the importance of 44 detailed items of the leader's traits showed like these: the judgement and decisiveness (M=4.967), the sense of responsibility (M=4.904), the activity and energy (M=4.796), the self-confidence (M=4.776), the creativity (M=4.748), the intelligence (M=4.743), the responsibility in the pursuit of objectives (M=4.743), the enthusiasm (M=4.717), the objectivity (M=4.704), the moral sense and ethical conduct (M=4.704), the ability to enlist cooperation (M=4.694), the strength of conviction (M =4.678), the enterprise (M=4.691), the administrative ability (M=4.678) and the cooperativeness (M=4.638) 3. As the result of analyzing the leader's trait differences on the hierarchy of nurse managers in six factors of the leader's traits, the social background showed the meaningful differences(F=4.983, P=0.008). 4. As the result of analyzing the leader's traits defferences made from the upper first to 15th rank among the detailed items of the leader's trait factors on the heirarchy of nurse managers, the meaningful defferences appeared in the following items: the objectivity(F=3.413, P=0.033), the creativity (F=3.550, P=0.031), the sense of responsibility(F=3.345, P=0.049), and the administrative ability (F=3.363, P=0.037). 5. As the result of analyzing the leader's trait factors in general background, only the social background of 6 leader's trait factors showed the meaningful differences according to the working place (F=4.057, P=0.008). The study shows that we should consider the above leader's trait factors in selecting nurse managers and that we should develop the educational program for hierarchy of nurse managers urgently.

The effects of a Leader's organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) on subordinates' interpersonal citizenship behavior(ICB) and job stress: Leader-Member Exchange(LMX) as a mediating variable (리더의 조직시민행동이 조직구성원들의 사람중심 시민행동과 스트레스에 미치는 영향: 리더-구성원 교환관계의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how a leader's organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) affects subordinates' interpersonal citizenship behavior (ICB) and job stress levels. A leader's OCB involves taking-charge behavior, loyal boosterism, and the industry. We hypothesized that leader-member exchange (LMX) would mediate the relationship between leader's OCB and subordinates' ICB and job stress level. We tested the model using a sample of 293 employees from different organizations from September 2019 until November 2019. We conducted confirmatory factor analyses of the variables and analyzed the data by using structural equation modeling. We also conducted a CFA to assess the fit of a three-factor model for the leader's OCB items. Empirical findings show that LMX fully mediated the effect of leader's OCB on employees' ICB and job stress level. Leader's OCB had a positive effect on LMX. Moreover, LMX had a positive effect on employees' ICB but had a negative effect on job stress. We found support for our hypotheses that leader's OCB is positively related to ICB but negatively related to job stress, and this relationship is mediated by LMX. We discuss limitations, implications for practice, and future research.

The Study on the Relationships between Team Leader's Emotional Intelligence and Subordinate's Organizational Attitude, Behavior Focused on Examining the Mediated Effect of Leader Trust (상사신뢰의 매개효과에 따른 팀장의 감성지능이 부하의 태도 및 행동에 미치는 영향력 분석)

  • This study introduced trust dimension as a mediating variable and analyzed in order to investigate the empirical mechanism on the process of leader's emotional intelligence which is a emotional factor to produce organizational effectiveness. Based on the empirical analysis, first of all, this study found whether the team leader's emotional intelligence gives an influence on the subordinate's trust in leader. Secondly, this study examined the multidimensionality of trust by selecting subordinate's cognition-based trust and affect-based trust on the team leader as mediating variables between team leaders's emotional intelligence and subordinate's affective commitment, organizational citizenship behavior. I found the theoretical implications based on this study; first, from the view on cognition-based and emotion-based trust, the integrated verification of the process of the trust in leader as a mediating role, second, verification of the relationship between leader's emotional intelligence and trust in leader which was not studied before, third, the methodological try to prevent from the common method bias problem through the evaluation of a team leader on a subordinate's organizational citizenship behavior. This study also suggested the ways to apply those theoretical implications to human resource management.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of opinion leader behavior on E-learning satisfaction on the mediating role of social intelligence. For the study, opinion leader behavior were defined two groups such as information mediated behavior, influence behavior and e-learning satisfaction were defined two groups such as contents satisfaction, operation satisfaction. On the basis of theoretical linkages between the constructs, a conceptual model and hypotheses were established. Data were collected from 153 graduated students by structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by PLS(Partial Least Square) statistics program and findings are as follows. Empirical results indicate that opinion leader behavior has a positive impact on opinion leader's social intelligence, social intelligence has a positive impact on E-learning satisfaction. Opinion leader's social intelligence has partially mediated effect on the relationship between opinion leader behavior and E-learning satisfaction.

ermK Leader Peptide : Amino Acid Sequence Critical for Induction by Erythromycin

  • The ermK gene from Bacillus lichenformis encodes an inducible rRNA methylase that confers resistance to the macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramin B antibiotics. The ermK mRNA leader sequence has a total length of 357 nucleotides and encodes a 14-amino acid leader peptide together with its ribosome binding site. The secondary structure of ermK leader mRNA and a leader peptide sequence have been reported as the elements that control expression. In this study, the contribution of specific leader peptide amino acid residues to induction of ermK was studied using the PCR-based megaprimer mutation method. ermK methylases with altered leader peptide codons were translationally fused to E. coli ${\beta}-galactosidase$ reporter gene. The deletion of the codons for Thr-2 through Ser-4 reduced inducibility by erythromycin, whereas that for Thr-2 and His-3 was not. The replacement of the individual codons for Ser-4, Met-5 and Arg-6 with termination codon led to loss of inducibility, but stop mutation of codon Phe-9 restored inducibility by erythromycin. Collectively, these findings suggest that the codons for residue 4, 5 and 6 comprise the critical region for induction. The stop mutation at Leu-7 expressed constitutively ermK gene. Thus, ribosome stalling at codon 7 appears to be important for ermK induction.

  • The main purpose of this research is to introduce PsyCap(Positive Psychological Capital) and new leadership helping ordinary people to create positive thinking and leading to social integration in South Korea. Additionally, by looking at conventional leadership theories and by applying the PsyCap to leadership based on causal loop analysis, this study is to seek new approach which political leader is able to communicate with the people and can help the people to build positive mine. Throughout this study, there are several important implications how political leader can lead to social integration and stable political development in South Korea. In particular, when political leader encourage the people to have confidence to take on and put in the necessary effort to succeed at challenging tasks, when political leader make the people a positive attribution (optimism) about succeeding now and in the future, when political leader help the people to persevere toward goals and redirection paths to goals (hope) in order to succeed, and when political leader make the people beset by problems and adversity environment to overcome these concerns, it can be expected political leader to build social integration and the people to create positive thinking which has been emphasized by political leader in South Korea. Finally, 21st century has required new political leadership that the people are able to make positive psychological capital composed by optimism, hope, confidence, and resilience.

Leader-Follower Model Analysis on Mixed Strategy Nash Equilibrium of Electricity Market with Transmission Congestion (송전선 혼잡시의 복합전략 내쉬균형에 대한 선도-추종자 모형 해석)

  • Nash Equilibrium (NE) is as useful tool for investigating a participant's strategic generation quantity in a competitive electricity market. Cournot model may give a mixed strategy NE instead of a pure strategy when transmission constraints are considered. A mixed strategy is difficult to compute, complicated to understand conceptually, and hard to implement in an electricity market practically. This paper presents that a mixed strategy does not appear in Stackelberg leader-follower model even under a transmission congestion. A solution method is proposed for the leader-follower model under a nondifferentiable space of a strategy variable. Based on the pure strategy NE with a transmission line congested, the merit of leader-follower model is shown from a social welfare point of view.
