Latent class models (LCM) are useful tools to draw hidden information from categorical data. This model can also be interpreted as a mixture model with multinomial component distributions. In some cases, however, an available dataset may contain both categorical and count or continuous data. For such cases, we can extend the LCM to a mixture model with both multinomial and other component distributions such as normal and Poisson distributions. In this paper, we consider a LCM for the data containing categorical and count data to analyze the Drug Review dataset which contains categorical responses and text review. From this data analysis, we show that we can obtain more specific hidden inforamtion than those from the LCM only with categorical responses.
In this study, carbon emissions and energy consumption were evaluated to establish a design strategy which has low energy consumption and carbon emission production, by using life cycle energy (LCE) and life cycle $CO_2(LCCO_2)$ calculation methods in life cycle management(LCM) tools. After improvement design projects, the energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission were calculated and compared in three sewage treatment plants (STPs), which are A STP, B STP, and C STP. The reduction of carbon emissions was 28,020.1 ton $CO_{2-}e/yr$, 37,399.6 ton $CO_{2-}e/yr$ and 8,788.3 ton $CO_{2-}e/yr$, respectively. Production of energy was 792 TOE/yr, 1,235 TOE/yr and 1,023 TOE/yr, respectively. As a result, the estimation of energy and energy self-sufficiency was 5.1 %, 14.5 % and 23.5 %, respectively. The result of this study shows the LCM can be contributed to establish strategy for energy and carbon emission reduction in sewage treatment plants.

The optical properties of InP/GaP short-period superlattice (SPS) structures grown at various temperatures from $400^{\circ}C$ to $490^{\circ}C$ have been investigated by using temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) and emission wavelength-dependent time-resolved PL measurements. The PL peak energy for SPS samples decreases as the growth temperature increases. The decreased PL energy of ~10 meV for the sample grown at $425^{\circ}C$ compared to that for $400^{\circ}C$-grown sample is due to the CuPt-B type ordering, while the SPS samples grown at $460^{\circ}C$ and $490^{\circ}C$ exhibit the significant reduction of the PL peak energies due to the combined effects of the formation of lateral composition modulation (LCM) and CuPt-B type ordering. The SPS samples with LCM structure show the enhanced carrier lifetime due to the spatial separation of carriers. This study represents that the bandgap energy of InP/GaP SPS structures can be controlled by varying growth temperature, leading to LCM formation and CuPt-B type ordering.

Four ruminally cannulated buffalo bulls were fed mottgrass diets using a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design. Treatments were arranged factorially and consisted of mottgrass fertilized with 0 for Kg nitrogen (N) per acre and harvested at 40 and 60 days of age. Nitrogen fertilization improved the concentrations of neutral detergent fiber (NDF), and acid detergent fiber (ADF) in early-cut mottgrass (ECM) but, the acid detergent lignin (ADL) contents were higher in the late-cut mottgrass (LCM). The crude protein (CP) contents of the mottgrass decreased with advancing maturity, but N fertilization increased CP at both maturities. The intake of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), CP, NDF and ADF were higher by buffalo bulls fed ECM than those fed LCM. The ruminal pH increased in first 6 hours post feeding in animals fed N fertilized mottgrass and may be due to higher concentration of ruminal ammonia. The digestibilities of DM, OM, CP, NDF and ADF were higher by buffalo bulls fed ECM than those fed LCM. However, the application of N fertilizer did not affect the digestibilities of these nutrients.

Detecting small infrared targets from the low-SCR images at a long distance is very hard. The previous Local Contrast Method (LCM) algorithm based on the human visual system shows a superior performance of detecting small targets by a background suppression technique through local contrast measure. However, its slow processing speed due to the heavy multi-scale processing overhead is not suitable to a variety of real-time applications. This paper presents a lightweight real-time small target detection algorithm, called by the Improved Selective Local Contrast Method (ISLCM), to reduce the scale-invariant computational overhead. The proposed ISLCM applies the improved local contrast measure to the predicted selective region so that it may have a comparable detection performance as the previous LCM while guaranteeing low scale-invariant computational load by exploiting both adaptive scale estimation and small target feature feasibility. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce its computational overhead considerably while maintaining its detection performance compared with the previous LCM.

In preparing a aggregate production plan(APP), the transportation method generally uses a linear planning(LP) software package for TSM(transportation simplex method), which seeks initial solutions with either NCM, LCM, or VAM specialized in transportation issues and optimizes them with either SSM or MODI. On the other hand, this paper proposes a transportation method that easily, quickly, and accurately prepares a APP without software package assistance. This algorithm proposed simply assigned to least cost-first, and minimized the inventory periods. Applying the proposed algorithm to 6-benchmarking data, this algorithm can be obtained better optimal solution than VAM or LP for 4 data, and we obtain the same results for the remained 2 data.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of levels of cottonseed meal with various carbohydrate sources in concentrate on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, rumen fermentation and microbial protein synthesis in dairy bulls. Four, 6 months old dairy bulls were randomly assigned to receive four dietary treatments according to a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement in a $4{\times}4$ Latin square design. Factor A was carbohydrate source; cassava chip (CC) and cassava chip+rice bran in the ratio of 3:1 (CR3:1), and factor B was cotton seed meal levels in the concentrate; 109 g CP/kg (LCM) and 328 g CP/kg (HCM) at similar overall CP levels (490 g CP/kg). Bulls received urea-lime treated rice straw ad libitum and were supplemented with 10 g of concentrate/kg BW. It was found that carbohydrate source and level of cotton seed meal did not have significant effects on ruminal pH, ammonia nitrogen concentration, microbial protein synthesis or feed intake. Animals which received CC showed significantly higher BUN concentration, ruminal propionic acid and butyric acid proportions, while dry matter, organic matter digestibility, populations of total viable bacteria and proteolytic bacteria were lower than those in the CR3:1 treatment. The concentration of total volatile fatty acids was higher in HCM than LCM treatments, while the concentration of butyric acid was higher in LCM than HCM treatments. The population of proteolytic bacteria with the LCM treatments was higher than the HCM treatments; however other bacteria groups were similar among the different levels of cotton seed meal. Bulls which received LCM had higher protein digestibility than those receiving HCM. Therefore, using high levels of cassava chip and cotton seed meal might positively impact on energy and nitrogen balance for the microbial population in the rumen of the young dairy bull.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the resistance to degradation and to compare the wear resistance characteristics of four esthetic restorative materials in an alkaline solution(0.1N NaOH). The brands studied were MetafilCX(Sun medical, Japan) Solitaire 2(Heraeus Kulzer, USA), Composan LCM(Promedica, Germany), DenFil(Vericom, Korea). The results were as follows: 1. The mass loss of each brand was 0.74~7.94% and highest value in Metafil($7.94{\pm}0.39%$). 2. The sequence of the degree of degradation layer depth was in descending order by Metafil, Solitaire 2, DenFil, Composan LCM. There were significant differences between Metafil and the others(p<0.05). 3. The sequence of the Si loss was in descending order by Metafil, Solitaire 2, Composan LCM, DenFil. There were significant differences among the materials(p<0.05). 4. On SEM, destruction of bonding between matrix and filler and on CLSM, the depth of degradation layer of specimen surface was observed. 5. The sequence of maximum wear depth was in descending order by Metafil, Solitaire 2, Composan LCM and DenFil. There were significant differences among the materials(p<0.05). 6. The correlation coefficient between Si loss and degradation layer depth (r=0.491, p<0.05) and Vicker's hardness number and maximum wear depth (r=-0.942, p<0.05) were relatively high. These results indicate that hydrolytic degradation and wear may consider as a evaluation factors of composite resins.
