Under the cancellation property and the Lipschitz condition on kernels, we prove that the Marcinkiewicz integrals defined on a homogeneous group H are bounded from $H^1$(H) to $L^1$(H), from $L_{c}$$^{\infty}$(H) to BMO (H), and from $L^{p}$ (H) to $L^{p}$ (H) for 1 < p < $\infty$ assuming the $L^{q}$ -boundedness for some q > 1.for some q > 1.

This study was performed to investigate the possibility of water cutting by vegetative propagation method from July to August of Clematis. To find out proper cutting length and rooting growth regulator for water cuttings production, cutting lengths of C. 'Honora' made 1 node and 2 nodes length cutting, which were soaked in NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$. Rooting rate of cuttings treated by NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ was 100% irrespective of root lengths, but that of 1 node and 2 nodes untreated by NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ were very low about 30% and 19% respectively. Number of roots and roots length were also highest in NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, effects of NAA $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ treatment were greater at 1 node cutting. Based on the results, rooting rate for I node cutting of C. 'Pairu' according to NAA (0, 0.1, 0.5, $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$) concentrations was investigated. Days to rooting were 70-74 days (about 10 weeks), which was not significantly different among the NAA concentrations. Rooting rate increased by NAA concentration. it was about 90% usually and was improved with more than NAA $0.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$.
This paper studies the relationship between L-fuzzy proximities and L-fuzzy topologies by topological fuzzy remote neigh-borhood systems. We will prove that the category of L-fuzzy topo- logical spaces can be embedded in the category of L-fuzzy quasi-proximity spaces as a core ective full subcategory.
This experiment was conducted to find the effects of a $GA_3$ and thidiazuron (TDZ) on seedless rate, harvest time, fruit cracking and fruit quality in 'Kyoho' grapes over two years from 2008 to 2009. In 2008, fruit clusters were dip treated with $GA_3$$25.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ twice at full bloom (FB) and 14 days after full bloom (DAFB) in a combination with TDZ 0 or $2.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$. Berry seedless rate and berry enlargement were slightly improved only when TDZ was added to the second $GA_3$ treatment at 14 DAFB, compared to $GA_3$ + TDZ treatments at both FB and 14 DAFB. However, berry cracking rate was significantly increased by any plant growth regulator (PGR) treatments compared to non treatment. In 2009, $GA_3$ at $12.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and $25.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ was dip treated twice at FB and 14 DAFB while TDZ $2.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ was treated only at 14 DAFB. Berry cracking rate was depended on the concentration of $GA_3$ applied. The higher concentration at $25.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ significantly increased berry cracking rate while the lower concentration at $12.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ had no effect. Also, the addition of TDZ to $GA_3$$25.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ at 14 DAFB, substantially decreased the cracking rate to the level of untreated control. Although all PGR treatments advanced fruit maturity, the most significant advance occurred when TDZ was added to $GA_3$$12.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ only at the second dip. Considering the overall aspects related to fruit maturity and quality, we concluded that the double applications of $12.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$$GA_3$ at FB and 14 DAFB with addition of $2.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ TDZ only at 14 DAFB was appropriate to produce about 400-500 g size of seedless 'Kyoho' grape cluster having 35-40 berries.
Purpose: The aims of this study are to measure the serum levels of fat soluble vitamins (vitamin A and D) from bile duct ligated rats, and to evaluate the effect of oral bile acids administration to facilitate absorption of fat soluble vitamins. Methods: We measured serum ALT, total bilirubin, vitamin A, and vitamin D of Sprague-Dawley rats 1 week before and 4 weeks after experimental bile duct ligation. Rats were consisted with 3 groups. Group 2 had been fed bile acids and group 3 ursodeoxycholic acid after operation for 4 weeks. Multi-vitamin was given to all groups. Results: 1) Base line (mean value before duct ligation): ALT 74.2 IU, total bilirubin 0.26 mg/dL; vitamin D 13.01 ng/mL vitamin A $0.87\;{\mu}g/mL$, total bile acids $25.16\;{\mu}mol/L$. 2) Four weeks after ligation: ALT 100.7 IU, total bilirubin 2.58 mg/dL; vitamin D 7.89 ng/mL vitamin A $1.37{\mu}g/mL$, total bile acids $278.22\;{\mu}mol/L$. 3) 4 weeks after ligation, each group (group 1, group 2 and group 3) showed vitamin D (7.62, 8.10 and 7.99) ng/mL, vitamin A (1.68, 1.06 and 1.33) ${\mu}g/mL$, total bile acids (233.17, 345.80 and 268.57) ${\mu}mol/L$, which were statistically not significant. Conclusion: Serum level of vitamin A is increased after bile duct ligation although vitamin D is decreased. Oral administration of bile acids does not affect the serum levels of vitamin A and D in bile duct ligated rats.
This study analyzed the range of motion of upper body in different configurations of firefighters' protective clothing and equipment. The purpose of this study was to understand the influence of firefighters' protective clothing and equipment over upper body motion in order to improve design of firefighters' protective clothing and equipment. 12 firefighters' upper body range of motion was analyzed while performing standing and walking trials in five different garment configurations including turnout ensemble, fire boots and the self-contained breathing apparatus. Analysis of upper body range of motion included spinal joints of L5S1, L4L3, T1C7, and C1Head. During standing trials, garment configurations caused a significant difference in range of motions at joints of L5S1, L4L3, T1C7, and C1Head. Analysis on the mean of range of motions at L5S1 and L4L3, showed that firefighters' waist bent forward significantly to a greater extent while they wore a self-contained breathing apparatus. A significantly increased range of motion was found for T1C7 and C1Head while carrying a self-contained breathing apparatus, which indicated an increase in the extension of the trunk and neck backward to stand upright and look squarely. A significant difference in range of motion was also found for L5S1 and L4L3 during walking trials.
Population pharmacokinetics for gentamicin were compared with 20 Korean patients (14 male and 6 female) and 25 Caucasian appendicitis patients (16 male and 9 female). Two to six blood specimens were collected from all patients at the following times : just before a regularly scheduled infusion and at 0.5 hour after the end of a 0.5 hour infusion. Nonparametric expected maximum(NPEM) algorithm for population modeling was used. The estimated parameters were the elimination rate constant(K), the slope(KS) of the relationship between K versus creatinine clearance(Ccr), the apparent volume of distribution (V), the slope(VS) of the relationship between V versus weight, gentamicin clearance(CL) and the slope(CS) of the relationship between CL versus Ccr and the V. The output includes two marginal probability density function(PDF), means, medians, modes, variance, skewness, kurtosis, and CV%. The mean K(KS) were$0.402{\pm}0.129hr^{-1}$ ($0.00486{\pm}0.00197[hr{\cdot}mL/min/1.73m^2]^{-1}$) and $0.425{\pm}0.137hr^{-1}$($0.00432{\pm}0.00168[hr{\cdot}mL/min/1.73m^2]^{-1}$) for Korean and Caucasian populations, respectively. The mean V(VS) were not different at $14.3{\pm}3.69L$($0.241{\pm}0.0511L/kg$) and $15.8{\pm}4.81L$($0.236{\pm}0.0531L/kg$) for Korean and Caucasian populations, respectively (P>0.2). The mean CL(CS) were $5.68{\pm}1.69L/hr$ ($0.0714{\pm}0.0222L/kg[hr{\cdot}mL/min/1.73m^2]$) and $6.29{\pm}1.84L/hr$ ($0.0629{\pm}0.0189L/kg[hr{\cdot}mL/min/1.73m^2]$) for Korean and Caucasian populations, respectively. There are no differences in gentamicin pharmacokinetics between Korean and Caucasian appendicitis patients.
To improve transformation efficiency, the callus of Lilium lancifolium Thunb. were bombarded by particles coated with pIG 121 Hm which include NPT II and GUS genes, and then cocultivated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens EHA101 which contain pIG121Hm binary vector, carrying neomycin phosphotransferase (NPT II) and $\beta$-Glucuronidase (GUS) genes. Three days after cocultivation with Agrobacterium tumefaciens and particle bombardment, the callus clusters were transferred to MS medium containing 1mg/L 2,4-D, 0.1mg/L BAP, 100mg/L kanamycin and 200mg/L carbenicillin. Four weeks after transfer to the selection medium, GUS expression was detected and PCR analysis revealed the presence of NPT II fragment of the expected size (700 bp) in the transformed callus. The GUS expression from Agrobacterium-mediated transformants after particle bombardment increased to over 3-folds compared with that of callus cocultivated with Agrobacterium tumefaciens without particle bombardment. The callus clusters containing kanamycin resistant gene were transferred to MS medium containing 1mg/L NAA and 1mg/L BAP. Somatic embryos were developed in four weeks and microbulbs expressing GUS were formed.
Alcohol fermentations were carried out to confirm the capacity of ethanol production from glucose, starch and soluble starch(dextrin) by Schwanniomyces castellii NRRL Y-2477. Schw. castellii NRRL Y-2477 was able to produce the 63.9g/l ethanol using 94% subtrate from 150g/l-glucose medium. The direct alcohol fermentation of starch having the maximum solubility of 20g/1 at $30^{\circ}C$ yielded 9.1g/l ethanol upon complete depletion of starch, whereas 34.5g/1 ethanol was produced by utilizing 82% of 100g/1 soluble starch medium. The fermentation of 150g/1 soluble starch produced 52.1g/l ethanol using about 79% of substrate. Thus, it was found that the limiting step of direct alcohol fermentation of starch by Schwanniomyces castellii NRRL Y-2477 was a hydrolysis of starch.
The wild-type and temperature-sensitive (ts) repressor genes were cloned from the temperate mycobacteriophage L1 and its mutant L1cIts391, respectively. A sequencing analysis revealed that the $131^{st}$ proline residue of the wild-type repressor was changed to leucine in the ts mutant repressor. The 100% identity that was discovered between the two DNA regions of phages L1 and L5, carrying the same sets of genes including their repressor genes, strengthened the speculation that L1 is a minor variant of phage L5 or vice versa. A comparative analysis of the repressor proteins of different mycobacteriophages suggests that the mycobacteriophage-specific repressor proteins constitute a new family of repressors, which were possibly evolved from a common ancestor. Alignment of the mycobacteriophage-specific repressor proteins showed at least 7 blocks (designated I-VII) that carried 3-8 identical amino acid residues. The amino acid residues of blocks V, VI, and some residues downstream to block VI are crucial for the function of the L1 (or L5) repressor. Blocks I and II possibly form the turn and helix 2 regions of the HTH motif of the repressor. Block IV in the L1 repressor is part of the most charged region encompassing amino acid residues 72-92, which flanks the putative N-terminal basic (residues 1-71) and C-terminal acidic (residues 93-183) domains of L1 repressor.
