This experiment was conducted with three varieties (Hicks, Burley 21, Sohyang) and cropping systems (Improved mulching, Mulching, Non mulching) of NC 2326 to analyze growth kinetics by means of growth function involving its velocity and accelerated velocity. The basic growth data were obtained by harvest method at interval of ten days from transplanting to hundred days and analyzed by , regression equation, determinant of matrix, and differentiation. The plot of total dry weight of leaves, stalk and roots per a plant vs. time forms a sigmoid curve and its function fitted logistic satisfactorily. Tobacco plant grows at an accelerated velocity. And growth velocity, symmetric about an inflection point, is proportional to biomass attained and to the difference between biomass attained and the maximum, and to the decrease according to the biomass. Of varieties and cropping systems, the most maximum velocity was 9.58g per day per plant in mulching cultivation of NC 2326 and maximum accelerated velocity was 264mg per $day^2$ per plant in Burley 21.

To improvement the magnetic and frequency properties of YIG(Yttrium-Iron Garnet) in microwave region, it is investigated that the effect of $Al^{3+}$ ions on magnetic and frequency characteristics of YIG, using samples of basic YIG composition( $Y_{3}$F $e_{5}$ $O_{l2}$) added with A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$ from 0 to 2.5 [mol%]. The measurment is conducted mainly for the structural properties and magnetical properties. The structural properties is measured using SEM(Scanning Electro Microscope), EDX(Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer) and XRD(X-ray diffraction equipment). The magnetical properties is measured with B-H curve tracer and impedance analyzer. As a result, it is confin-ned that the effect of eddy current loss is minimized while maintaining high saturation flux density of YIG, when YIG is added with 0.5 [mol%] of A1$_{2}$ $O_{3}$.>.>.

This paper describes a new method of calculating expected energy generation and loss of load probability (L.O.L.P) for electric power system operation and expansion planning. The method represents an equivalent load duration curve (E.L.D.C) as a mixture of cumulants approximation (M.O.N.A). By regarding a load distribution as many normal distributions-rather than one normal distribution-and representing each of them in terms of Gram-Charlier expansion, we could improve the accuracy of results. We developed an algorithm which automatically determines the number of distribution and demarcation points. In modeling of a supply system, we made subsets of generators according to the number of generator outage: since the calculation of each subset's moment needs to be processed rapidly, we further developed specific recursive formulae. The method is applied to the test systems and the results are compared with those of cumulant, M.O.N.A. and Booth-Baleriaux method. It is verified that the M.O.C.A. method is faster and more accure than any other method.

Tensile energy absorption in paper has long been measured as the area under the load-elongation curve. Little effort has been made to define where and how that energy is used within the paper itself. Characterization of tensile energy absorption in paper is discussed. Multiple small elements within newsprint and kraft sack have been defined and the energy absorbed in those elements are discussed. The tensile profiles of the weak paper, newsprint, and the tough paper, kraft sack, are presented as separate strain profiles, stress profiles, and strain energy density profiles. This allows a complete analysis of the energy absorption of both papers for comparison or contrast.

Hardware and software studies strongly indicate the feasibility of commercially producing a low cost, user-friendly photovoltaic cell curve tracer. The instrument will be used in conjuntion with an IBM compatible PC. The system will show not only the parameters; Voc, Isc, FF, Iop, Vop, that the conventional VI tracer shows but also the internal parasitic resistance and the detail parameters.

의사결장지원시스템은 다양한 분야에 적용되어 왔으며, 그 중 수자원 및 수질 관련 분야에도 다각적으로 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 미 농무성의 자연자원보전국(NRCS, Natural Resources Conservation Service)에서 개발한 유출곡선법(Curve Number Method)과 EMC(Event Mean Concentration)을 사용한 L-THIA(Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment) 수문/수질 모형을 강우자료 데이터베이스, 웹기반 지리정보시스템, 웹 사용자 편의 시스템과 통합한 수문/수질 L-THIA web 의사결정지원시스템을 개발하였다. L-THIA web은 도시계획가나 지방자치단체, 또는 지방의 공동체가 사용할 수 있도록 쉽고 단순한 사용자 편의 시스템을 제공하고 있으며, 미국의 50개 본토의 주와 카운티(County) 이름으로 기상자료와 수문토양분류(Hydrologic Soil Group)을 인터넷 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 지방자치단체 및 지역공동체의 실무자를 사용자로 수문/수질 평가 및 관리를 위한 시스템으로 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

A method to determine As(V) ions in aqueous solution by chemiluminescence method has been studied using a stopped flow system. The method is based on the increased chemiluminescence intensity with the addition of As(V) ion to a solution of lucigenin and hydrogen peroxide. The effects of KOH concentration, $H_2O_2$ concentration and flow rate of reagents on the chemiluminescence intensity have been investigated. The calibration curve for As(V) was linear over the range from $1.0{\times}l0^{-6}$M to $1.0{\times}l0^{-4}$M, the coefficient of correlation was 0.997 and the detection limit was $3.3{\times}l0^{-7}$M under the optimal experimental conditions.

Hybrid type LPM can be widely applied in the precise position controlled devic because precise linear motion can be directly obtained by the simple control circuit without backlash in the rotary-type stepping motor. Also, LPM can increase the Position resolution, which was limited by mechanical manufacturing limit and characteristic of magnetic material. using micro-step drive method to decrease the noise and vibration further. Especially, Double-side LPM may be replaced the solenoid as the valve driving device without difficulty and give full play to control the valve accurately. Hence, In this paper, magnetic circuit of double-side LPM was confirmed and static thrust force curve according to the relative displacement between stator and mover, was analyzed by the two dimensional finite element method. From this results, we can suppose the excitation current to be controlled optimally.

A simple method was developed for the analysis of seven stilbene-type fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) in paper materials by ion-pair reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection. These stilbene-type FWAs included two disulfonate, two tetrasulfonate, and three hexasulfonate compounds. After optimization of chromatographic conditions, the FWAs were satisfactorily separated using a reversed-phase column (RP-18) with the following isocratic mobile phase: methanol-water (60:40) containing 17.5 mM TBABr and 10 mM citrate buffer (pH = 7.0). The calibration plot was linear in the range from 5 to 500 ng/mL for two disulfo-FWAs and from 1 to 500 ng/mL for the other five FWAs. Precision levels of the calibration curve as indicated by RSD of response factors were 1.2 and 8.1%. Limits of quantitation (LOQ) ranged from 1.2 to 11 ng/mL.

The present paper is focused on sorption concentration of silver (I) on some complex-forming ion exchangers in the initial thiocyanate form and subsequent determination of Ag(I) in the phase of anion exchanger AN-25 by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The sorption and kinetic characteristics of the sorbents were investigated. The apparent stability constants of thiocyanate silver complexes in the ion exchanger phase were calculated. The sorption-spectroscopic method is proposed for Ag(I) determination in aqueous solutions. The calibration curve is linear in the concentration range of 10-200 mg/L (sample volume is 10.0 mL) and the detection limit is 2 $\mu$g/mL. The presence of $Na^+,\;K^+,\;Mg^{2+}$ (macrocomponents) as well as of Ni (II), Co (II), Cu (II) do not hinder the determination of silver (I).
