  • This note centers around the class M(A) of multipliers on a Gelfand algebra A. This class is a large subalgebra of the Banach algebra L(A). The aim of this note is to investigate some aspects concerning their local spectral properties of multipliers. In the last part of work we consider some applications to automatic continuity theory.

  • The aim of this study is to understand the original methods of architectural composition in F. L. Wright's works, For this purpose, the principal thoughts based on his organic architecture was examined over all others, and the results of this study are as follows. 1. F. L. Wright knew Taoist Philosophy, especially Lao-tzu's thought about space based on traditional oriental arts included traditional japanese arts by his superior intuition. this is similar to Froebel Thought in the principal theory, that is, his own unique field of abstract architectural education with three-dimensional geometry learned through Froebel Gifts. 2. Space is reality ; such Lao-tzu's thought, reversed the sense of values, influenced F. L. Wright's way to accomplish his own continuous space. that is to say, he attempted taking precedence of spatial organization by the unit of three-dimensional module made the substance, Froebel Blocks (3, 4, 5, 6 Gifts) into non-substance, and trying to do the methods of continuous liberal composition in architecture. which is his original accomplishment, namely his mentioned 'democratic' because of judging the space and the mold of architecture as individualities. 3. F. L. Wright treated the space as a positive entity, so that he created his own architecture organically combined with spaces and forms. : This was the result that he comprehended both formative, physical worth in West and spatial, non-physical worth in East as equivalence. It is understood that F. L. Wright's works combined with East and West are the significance of his architecture and the progress of true internationalities and modernization in modern architecture. 4. From the analyses of his works, we knew the fact that F. L. Wright's architecture, especially in the spatial organization were performed by the reasonable methods with geometric system of Froebel Gifts. In the observation of our fundamental way of thinking on his architecture, this study shows the necessity to let us get out of preconceptions and conclusions that the organic architecture is mysterious and difficult, but to systematize and put his organic methods to practical use.

아동의 음악 인지 : 음악의 동일성·유목화·서열화 인지 비교 (Children's Music Cognition: Comparison of Identification, Classification, and Seriation in Music Tasks)

  • This studied investigated children's music identification, classification, and seriation cognitive task performance abilities by age and sex. The subjects were l20 six-, eight-, and ten-year-old school children. There were significant positive correlations among music cognition tasks and significant age and sex differences within each of the music tasks. Ten-year-old children were more likely to complete their music identification tasks than the younger children and girls were more likely than boys to complete their music identification tasks. Eight- and 10-year-old children were more likely to complete their music classification tasks than the younger group. Piagetian stage theory was demonstrated in children's music classification task performance. There was an age-related increase in the performance of the music seriation tasks. Developmental sequential theory was demonstrated in music seriation performance.

  • This paper introduces a new approach to analysis of error convergence for a class of iterative learning control systems. First, a nonlinear plant is represented using a Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model. Then each iterative learning controller is designed for each linear plant in the T-S fuzzy model. From the view point of two-dimensional(2-D) system theory, we transform the proposed learning systems to a 2-D error equation, which is also established in the form of T-S fuzzy model. We analysis the error convergence in the sense of induced 2 L -norm, where the effects of disturbances and initial conditions on 2-D error are considered.   • The paper is concerned about the discovery of new physics of the old oriental philosophy of the yin-Yang '||'&'||' five elements. the physical properties of Five Elements are defined, similarly as in thermodynamics, as five different characteristic state in a cyclic system of nature or a human body. Wood is defined as "warm and soft", Fire as "hot and dispersive", Earth as "agglomerating and sticky", Metal as "tensile and crystallizing", and Water as "cool and slippery" state, respectively. Based on the physics of Five Elements and Qi channel theory, five different constitution classification s are made according to the shape of human face, such as long, inverse triangle, circle, square, and triangle geometry, respectively.Since the constitution implies the relative size or strength of 5 major organs, this theory can be applies successfully to the prediction of the susceptibility to specific diseases as well as the analyses of personal character such as emotion and sensibility. The specific character is analyzed with four different aspects; that is, the first and second are caused by the positive and negative side of the strongest organ, the third character by determined the weakest organ, and finally the fourth by the abnormal psychology due to serious illness.bnormal psychology due to serious illness.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a self-monitoring rehabilitation program based on the Bandura's self-efficacy theory on the activities of daily living (ADL), 6-minute walking distances, self-efficacy and quality of life (QoL) among stroke patients after three to six months. Methods: The participants consisted of 29 patients in the experiment group and 28 patients in the control group who admitted at rehabilitation specific hospital. Self-monitoring program developed by the researcher lasted twice a week for 8 weeks from August to September, 2013. Results: ANCOVA showed that all of dependent variables of this study, ADL and 6-minute walking distances as a physical function, self-efficacy and QoL for intervention group were higher than those for control group(p<.001). Conclusion: The self-monitoring rehabilitation program based on the self-efficacy theory was found to be effective in improving physical function, self-efficacy and QoL for early post-stroke patients. Early rehabilitation program for stroke patients was recommended to consider the self-monitoring of current physical and psychosocial status as a strategy of self-management.

Geometrical Characteristics and Atomic Charge Variations of Pd(II) Complexes [Pd(L)Cl2] with an Axial (Pd·O) Interaction

  • Geometrical structures of [Pd(L)$Cl_2$] with oxathia macrocycles have been calculated using ab initio secondorder Moller-Plesset (MP2) and Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods with triple zeta plus polarization (TZP) basis set level. In optimized Pd(L)$Cl_2$ complexes, Pd(II) locates at the center surrounded by a square planar array of two sulfurs on an oxathia macrocycle and two chlorides. The endo-Pd(II) complexes with an axial (Pd${\cdots}$O) interaction are more stable than the exo-Pd(II) complexes without the interaction. In the endo-Pd(II) complexes, the atomic charge of the oxygen atom moves to Pd(II) via the axial ($Pd{\cdots}$O) interaction and then, the charge transfer from Pd(II) to the S-atoms occurs stepwise via ${\pi}$-acceptors of the empty d-orbitals.

L2 Reader's Critical Reading Interpretation

  • This study investigated how EFL readers critically read texts which are written in English. Although critical reading has been discussed in advanced EFL and ESL contexts there has not been much research on the critical reading of beginning EFL learners. Many educators are recommending that a critical perspective be adopted so that L2 learners can become empowered rather than indoctrinated. In this study, the researcher has examined the critical reading practices of five beginning level EFL readers in Korea and five first language readers of English in the United States as they read a news editorial article. The significant findings were discussed related to critical reading practice of L2 readers. The findings of the study can help the educators in English education in improving the curriculum, the teaching methodology and the learning theory for EFL reading for critical reading.
