  • We give a complete formula for the characteristic polynomial of hyperplane arrangements ${\mathcal{J}}_n$ consisting of the hyperplanes $x_i+x_j=1$, $x_k=0$, $x_l=1$, $1{\leq}i$, j, k, $l{\leq}n$. The formula is obtained by associating hyperplane arrangements with graphs, and then enumerating central graphs via generating functions for the number of bipartite graphs of given order, size and number of connected components.

  • We use the finite method developed by C. Athanasiadis based on Crapo-Rota's theorem to give a complete formula for the characteristic polynomial of hyperplane arrangements ${\mathcal{J}}_n$ consisting of the hyperplanes $x_i+x_j=1$, $x_k=0$, $x_l=1$, $1{\leq}i,j,k,l{\leq}n$.

  • In this paper, we deal with the I -t characteristic of low voltage distribution fuse (line fuse). That fuse element has two parts;One is low temperature melting element(LTME) to put up with over current and the other is high temperature melting element (HTME) which put up with large current. Melting charateristic of fuse is determined by L TME and HTME. So we verified their properties of fuse design, mathematically, by simulating the thermal and electric characteristics of each other. We simulated the I-t characteristic of line fuse by using the numerical method;Finite Element Method(FEM). Then, we could acquire very similar result at the HTME and L TME area when compared the simlation result with experimental one.

  • In this study, the characteristic equation of a double sided short stator linear induction motor, referred to as LIM excited by equivalent current sheet having linear current density was derived using Maxwell's electromagnetic field theory with its entry and exit, end effects taken into consideration. According to the treatment of several physical phenomena in the air-gap i.e. the magnetic flux density distributions, thrust-force, forward and backward travelling wave with decay, normal field, the fundamental data in this study are made reference to improve the characteristics of LIM, effectual electro-magnetic energy conversion devices.

  • We study the characteristic Jacobi operator ${\ell}={\bar{R}({\cdot},{\xi}){\xi}$ (along the Reeb flow ${\xi}$) on the unit tangent sphere bundle $T_1M$ over a Riemannian manifold ($M^n$, g). We prove that if ${\ell}$ is pseudo-parallel, i.e., ${\bar{R}{\cdot}{\ell}=L{\mathcal{Q}}({\bar{g}},{\ell})$, by a non-positive function L, then M is locally flat. Moreover, when L is a constant and $n{\neq}16$, M is of constant curvature 0 or 1.

  • The design criteria of Linear Induction Motors (LIM) for Auto-Conveyor System are proposed by analyzing of starting characteristics using an equivalent circuit. By contrasting the solution of the equivalent circuit with that of Maxwell's equation, we induced the parameters of the circuit. Also, the utility of the design criteria has been shown by comparing the basic characteristics with experimental values.

  • In this study we investigated the aging characteristic such as leakage current, dielectric loss, contact angle, of EPDM for outdoor use by thermal treatment. And also observed the color change of surface, changing of chemical ingredient of the marterials by optical microscope. SEMI, FTIR and EDX at the section and surface. The test result show that leakage current is increased with thermal aging time. contact angle and dielectric loss is slightly decreased. Moreover, micro-void or crack in bulk is severely increased with aging time. However, the result affect to the tan $\delta$ at bulk of EPDM. It seems that carrier sources are removed by degassing with heat treatment.

  • This paper deals with a comparison between the secondary Halbach array and conventional array of permanent magnets(PMs) in linear synchronous motor(LSM). The finite element method(FEM) is employed for characteristic analysis of the machine. Two types of PMLSM are analyzed and compared, with reference to the following parameters as variables: magnetic field, detent force, static thrust and thrust/secondary weight ratio.

  • LOA(Linear Oscillating Actuator) is composed of a voice coil type mover and permanent magnets. we have applied LOA to the active vibration control system to supress structual vibration. In this paper, the static test of the voice coil type LOA is treated. The thrust developed by LOA is calculated by measuring stroke.
