Development of Biofilter for Reducing Offensive Odor from Pig House (돈사 악취 저감을 위한 바이오필터 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develop the biofilter fur reducing ammonia $(NH_3)$ and hydrogen sulfide $(H_2S)$ gas emission from a pig house. A biofilter was designed and constructed by a type of squeeze air into the column type of air flow upward. Its column size was ${\Phi}260{\times}360mm$. It was used pressure drop gauge, turbo blower, air temperature, velocity sensor and control program that was programed by LabWindows CVI 5.5. Mixing materials were consisted with composted pine tree bark and perlite with 7:3 ratio (volume). The biofilter media inoculated with ammonia (Rhodococcus equi A3) and hydrogen sulfide (Alcaligenes sp. S5-5.2) oxidizing microorganisms was installed in a commercial pig house to analyzed the effectiveness of biogas removal for 10 days. Removal rates of ammonia and hydrogen sulfide gases were 90.8% and 81.5%, respectively. This result suggests that the pine compost-perlite mixture biofilter is effective and economic for reducing ammonia ana hydrogen sulfide gases.

  • In the CDMA mobile communication system with asynchronous mode among base stations, the initial PN code acquisition method using a matched filter can be considered for the rapid PN code synchronization acquisition in the handoff region. In the model of the noncoherent QPSK/DS-SS under the Rayleigh fading channel, the mean acquisttion time of the matched filter is analyzed to have a shortened time in proportion to the length of matched filter to be compared with the serial correlation method. In this paper to improve the HW complexity of the conventional matched device which enables the repeated correlation process, is designed and its function is verified through the FPGAsimulation using Altera MaxPlus Ⅱ.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new technique which employ the pipelined architecture for the implementation of the SAP adaptive filter using variable step size. According as SAP adaptive filter is sufficiently decomposed, a simplified SAP adaptive filter can be derived, and the weights of adaptive sub-filters can be updated by a simple formular without a matrix inversion. The convergence speed and the steady state error of the simplified SAP adaptive filter are improved by using variable step size. For practical implementation, the simplified SAP adaptive sub-filters are transformed by the pipeline technique.

  • In robotics research, accurate estimation of current robot position is important to achieve motion control of a robot. In this research, we focus on a sensor fusion method to provide improved position estimation for a wheeled mobile robot, considering two different sensor measurements. In this case, we fuse camera-based vision and encode-based odometry data using Kalman filter techniques to improve the position estimation of the robot. An external camera-based vision system provides global position coordinates (x, y) for the mobile robot in an indoor environment. An internal encoder-based odometry provides linear and angular velocities of the robot. We then use the position data estimated by the Kalman filter as inputs to the motion controller, which significantly improves performance of the motion controller. Finally, we experimentally verify the performance of the proposed sensor fused position estimation and motion controller using an actual mobile robot system. In our experiments, we also compare the Kalman filter-based sensor fused estimation with two different single sensor-based estimations (vision-based and odometry-based).

  • 이 논문에서는 멀티스트링 타입 계통연계형 3상 태양광 발전 시스템 개발 과정중 인버터 파트에 필요한 기본적인 기술들을 살펴보고 검증해 보았다. 계통연계에 필요한 위상추종제어 3상 DPLL(Digital Phase Locked Loop)과 DC 링크 전압제어 그리고 계통전류 제어기의 구조와 비간섭전류제어 등을 살펴보고 무변압기형에 사용되는 3상인버터의 L-C-L 필터 설계 방법을 살펴보고 L-C 필터와 비교하여 살펴보았다. 최종적으로 앞에서 언급하였던 제어기와 이론 등을 시뮬레이션으로 검증하였으며 현재 개발 중인 프로토타입 하드웨어 설계에 대해서도 기술하였다.

  • 질감 분류 기술은 패턴인식과 컴퓨터 비전 분야에서 널리 사용되는 기술로서, 최근 들어서는 감시 카메라 시스템에서의 정확한 객체 인식을 위한 회전 변화에 강인한 질감 분류 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 순환 가보 웨이블렛 필터를 이용한 회전 변환에 강인한 질감 분류 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 순환 가보 웨이블렛 필터링된 영상에서 전역 및 지역 특징 벡터를 계산하고 특징 벡터의 차이를 이용한 유사도 측정 판별식으로 질감 분류를 수행한다. Brodatz 질감 앨범을 이용한 실험에서 기존의 방법들보다 2~6% 향상된 질감 분류 비율을 확인할 수 있었다. 제안하는 방법은 질감 기반 객체 인식에 관련된 응용 분야에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

Design of a Band-Stop Filter for UWB Application (UWB용 대역 저지 필터 설계)

  • A compact microstrip band-selective filter for ultra-wideband(UWB) radio system is proposed. The filter combines the traditional short-circuited stub highpass filter and coupled resonator band-stop filter on both sides of the mitered 50-ohm microstrip line. To realize the pseudo-highpass filtering characteristic over UWB frequency band(3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz), a distributed highpass filter scheme is adopted. Three coupled resonators are utilized to obtain the band stop function at the desired frequency band. By meandering the coupled resonators, there is $29\;\%$ size reduction in footprint compared to the traditional band-stop filter using L-shaped resonators. The measured results show that the filter has a wide passband of $146.7\;\%$(2.1 GHz to 10.15 GHz) with low insertion loss and the stop band of $10.04\;\%$(5.2 GHz to 5.75 GHz) for 3-dB bandwidth. The measured group delay is less than 0.7 ns within the passband except the rejection band.

Combination of Hydrophobic Filtration and Enrichment Methods for Detecting Bacillus cereus in Fresh-Cut Cabbage

  • This study developed a rapid detection method for Bacillus cereus in fresh-cut cabbages. Fresh-cut cabbage samples were inoculated at 1-, 2- and 3-Log CFU/g, and pathogens were enriched in tryptic soy broth containing 0.15% polymyxin B at $30^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$, and $42^{\circ}C$ to determine the detection limit and appropriate enrichment temperature for multiplex PCR detection. Enriched bacterial cells in enrichment broth were collected in a hydrophobic filter prior to DNA extraction for multiplex PCR. Filters were resuspended in distilled water, and DNA was extracted from the suspension. DNA samples were further analyzed by multiplex PCR. Detection limit of multiplex PCR was 5-Log CFU/mL. B. cereus cell counts were higher (P < 0.05) at $42^{\circ}C$ than other temperatures. Detection rate of 1-, 2-, and 3-Log CFU/g inoculated samples were 60%, 80%, and 100% after enrichment respectively. However, when enriched samples were filtered with hydrophobic membrane filter, detection rates became 100%, regardless of inoculation level. Results indicate a combination of enrichment with hydrophobic filtration improves rapid detection efficiency of B. cereus in fresh-cut cabbage by multiplex PCR.

  • Ths paper describes on the stability improvement of output voltage control on the power suwJy for railway. On the transient states such as input voltage sudden change, the inpJt and output voltage beccxre unstable by L-C resonance occurred due to constant output voltage control. In this paper, the new clamping circuit for system stability is proposed, and control method using band attenuated filter and feed-forward terms is introduced. The propoesd damping circuit is composed with sma1l size R-L. Also, the 3 level PWM method is adopted to decrease distortion of output voltage. The output voltage is controlledl with variation under 10% without oscillation at transient states and have total hanmnic distortion under 3%.der 3%.

  • A interference of outside electric source and electric fast transient(EFT) are origins of destroy and malfunction in the precise electrical and electronic equipments. It makes a serious obstacle as the form of conducted noise. Therefore, it is strongly needed to protect precision electrical and electronic equipments from the interference and EFT. In this research, a EMC filter composed of feed-through capacitors and ferrite beads of high permeability is designed and it's properties are investigated for PDP. The filter produced in this research have wide band frequency characteristics and more than 40 dB reflection loss in the frequence of 10 MHz∼1.5 GHz which satisfy the standard of CISPR Pub. 22 and the level 4 of IEC 61000-4-4.
