The Deposition Characterization of DLPC Lipid Membrane by Moving Wall Type LB Methode (Moving Wall형 LB법에 의해서 제작된 DLPC 지질막의 누적특성)

  • We fabricated the sample of u1tra thin lipid membrane(L-${\alpha}$-DLPC ) by LB methode. The $\pi$-A isotherm of the DLPC was measured at the air-water interface varying with the compressing speed and amounts of solutions for spreading. For good property of lipid monolayer film, it was necessary for the lower speed of compressing, and 40${\mu}\ell$ of solutions for spreading. The molecular arrangement of deposited films were evaluated by measuring the absorption, transmitance and intensity with the UV spectrophotometer. The Y-type multilayers prepared at 50mN/m showed weaker than Z-type. So we found building-up of structurally high quality LB films is essential to study properties of the films and to get reproducible data.

  • We carried out this experiment to observe electrochemical properties for LB films of phospholipid(Dilauroyl-L-${\alpha}$-Phosphayidylcholine) and 4-octyl-4'-(5-carboxypentamethylene-oxy)azobenzene mixture by the cyclic voltammetry. LB films of 8A5H and 8A5H-DLPC(1:1, 2:1) were deposited by using the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the ITO glass. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system, An Ag/AgCl reference elect rode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode measured in 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 mol/L $NaClO_{4}$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350 mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV and measured to the initial point. The scan rate were 50, 100, 150 and 200 mV/s. As a result, LB films of 8A5H 8A5H-DLPC appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram.

  • LB layers of L-$\alpha$-DLPC deposited by LB method were deposited onto n-type silicon wafer as Z-type film. Films made up of 8, 16 layers of lipid with long alkyl chain and the thickness of monolayer and multilayers was determined by ellipsometry. It was deposited Ag and Al onto LB layers and silicon wafer for electrode and small electrode exhibit high capacitance and low leakage current. The C-V curves of the MLS capacitor shows very high saturation value of capacitance. And cross-sectional SEM image of MLS capacitor indicated the presence of pore with Al electrode and we found that the Ag is good for electrode metal.

  • MLS capacitor with lipid ultra thin films were deposited by Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method on the sillicon wafer. The current versus voltage and capacitance versus voltage relationships are depend on the applied voltage, electrode area and electrode materials. LB films deposited were made of L-$\alpha$-DLPC, the 1 layer's thickness of 35$\AA$ was measured by ellipsometer. And MLS capacitor with different electrode materials, the work function of these materials was investigated to increase the leakage current. The result indicated the lower leakage current and very high saturation value of capacitance was reached within 700-800 pF when the two electrode was Ag. And $\varepsilon$$_1$, $\varepsilon$$_2$ versus photon energy showed good film formation.

  • We have investgated the photoisomerization using light irradiation 8A5H-phospholipid( L-$\alpha$-dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine[DMPC], L-$\alpha$-dilauroylphosphatidylcholine[DLPC]mixture LB film accumulated by monolayer on an ITO. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode measured in $NaClO_{4}$ solution at a variable concentration and variable number layers LB film. The scan rate was 100mV/s.

  • Maxwell-Displacement-Current(MDC) measuring technique has been applied to the study of monolayers of Dilauroylphosphatidylcholine (L-.alpha.-DLPC) and Dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (L-.alpha.-DMPC). The displacement current was generated from monolayers on a water surface by monolayer compression. Displacement current was generated when the area per molecule was about 250.angs.$^{2}$, 280.angs.$^{2}$. Displacement current was generated in the gas state, gas/liquid state, and liquid state in the course of monolayer compression. The orientational change of molecules in monolayers was discussed on the basis of the MDCs obtained. Finally, we measured differential thermal analysis of sample.

  • We studied electrochemical characteristics of Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system. An Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode, a platinum wire as a counter electrode and LB film-coated indium tin oxide(ITO) as a working electrode were used to study electrochemical characteristics at a various concentration of $NaClO_4$ solution. LB films were reduced from initial potential to -1350 mV, continuously oxidized to l650mV and returned to the initial point. The scan rate was l00mV/s. The monolayer surface morphology of the LB film have been measured by Atomic Force Microscope(AFM). As a result, We comfirmed that the microscopic properties of LB film by AFM showed the good orientation of momolayer molecules and the thickness of monolayer was 3.5-4.lnm. The cyclic voltammograms(CV) of the ITO-coated glass showed the peak potentials for the reduction-oxidation reation. LB films of 4-octyl-4'-(5-carboxypentamethyleneoxy) azobenzene(8A5H) / L-${\alpha}$-phosphayidyl choline, dilauroyl(DLPC) seemed to be irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. The current of oxidatation increased at cyclic voltammogram by increasing 8A5H density in LB films. The diffusivity(D) of LB films increased with increasing of a 8A5H amount and was inversely proportional to the concentration of $NaClO_4$ solution.

  • We hate examined the electrical properties of L-${\alpha}$-DLPC Langmuir(L) films by using a displacement current measuring technique with pressure stimulation. Displacement current was generated when the sample spread volume was about 280${\mu}\ell$, 360${\mu}\ell$ and compression velocity was about 30, 40, 50mm/min. Displacement current was generated in the range of gas state, gas/fluid state and fluid state in the course of monolayer compression. From the result, it is known that displacement current is generated in the range of high surface pressures as compression velocity become faster.
