  • In this paper, we have represented basic experiment results for the application of electric vehicle powerline communication using an induction type coupler. The coupler was fabricated using nano-crystalline alloy and it was applied to the charging system of electric vehicles to measure the communication performance. Experimental results showed a channel bandwidth over 48 Mbps.

  • Conventional inductive powerline communications typically use ferrite cores. However, since the recent nanocrystalline cores are expected to perform better, this paper aims to measure the performance of inductive couplers using nanocrystalline cores. To do this, we used inductive powerline communications to observe the communication range when increasing the number of cores from one to five. This experiment shows that we have the best communication performance when we connect 5 cores.

  • The paper presents the wireless wind chill temperature measurement system that is composed of IEEE 802.15.4 standard wireless communication devices, hot film anemometer and serial communication temperature sensor. It's sometimes very difficult for a person, who lives in a high-rise apartment, to see the outside wind chill temperature due to harsh outside weather. The wind chill temperature is calibrated from an air velocity and air temperature. IEEE 802.15.4 standard wireless communication is ZigBee compatible, and consumes low power in communication. Under the air temperature of 5 $^{\circ}C$ and air velocity ranging from 0 to 50 km/h, the experimental result of wind chill temperature shows good accuracy within 5%.

  • The Phase and temperature changes of large clusters formed in a free jet expansion of acetylene in 14atm and 233K has been studied. The cluster has been treated as a sphere composed of many shells. A mean diameter of 4.88 microns was obtained by modeling the experimental cooling curve of clusters based on evaporation and heat conduction theory.

  • In this paper, a remote submersion warning system based on multi-mode optical fiber(MMF) sensors and a wireless sensor network(WSN) are proposed. To improve the reliability and stability of the sensors, the dual optical fiber sensors combined to the optical coupler are demonstrated. A slave zigbee as a wireless sensor module was used as a platform to monitor and record the signal from the MMF sensors and then transmits these information to a master zigbee wirelessly. The monitoring system running the $LabVIEW^{(R)}$ software was connected to the internet to support the short message service(SMS) through extensible markup language(XML) web service. No matter where the managers are, they can always receive the real-time remote-monitoring data for safety check.

  • The goal of image merging techniques are to enhance the resolution of low-resolution images using the detail information of the high-resolution images. Among the several image merging methods, wavelet-based image merging techniques have the advantages of efficient decorrelation of image bands and time-scale analysis. However, they have no regard for spatial information between the bands. In other words, multiresolution data merging methods merge the same information-the detail information of panchromatic image-with other band images, without considering specific characteristics. Therefore, a merged image contains much unnecessary information. In this paper, we discussed this 'mixing' effect and, proposed a method to classify the detail information of the panchromatic image according to the spatial and spectral characteristics, and to minimize distortion of the merged image.

  • High speed electric trains have nonlinear loads including converters and inverters for the contol synchronous motors. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. Direct application of the harmonic assessment to the snapshot measurements would result in ambiguous conclusions depending on which instant is sampled. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides an in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the high speed electric train loads, harmonics assessment by the international harmonic standards IEC 61000-3-6 and IEEE std. 519-1992, and harmonics simulation using EDSA program for the case study.

  • According to glowing computing capacity, software in remote sensing has supported diverse processing interfaces from batch interface to high-end user interactive interface. In this paper, component based visual modeler is developed to process batch jobs for high-end users as well as novices. Visual modeler arranges several node groups which are categorized according to their purposes. These nodes carry out elemental unit processes and can be grouped to model. The model represents user specified job which is composed diverse nodes. User can organize models by connecting diverse nodes according to data flow model specification which rules node's connectivity and direction, etc. Furthermore, user defined models can be together to organize much more complex and large model.

  • This paper describes the system development for the Ground Control Point collection and management through the major coastline region in KOREA, which will collect and manage the ground control point based on high resolution satellite image database. The module of this system is following 1) GCP/Coarstline research plan module 2) GCP/Coarstline ground collection module 3) GCP/Coarstline post processing module Our team developed the core components of ‘High Resolution Satellite Image Processing Technique’ project, and this system, among applications of our project, is constructed to apply to practical use.   • 최근 초고층 건축물에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있고, 더욱이 건설기술의 발전에 힘입어 초고층 복합빌딩의 계획과 건설이 더욱 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이러한 초고층 복합빌딩에서 화재 등과 같은 재난이 발생할 경우 거주자의 대피 및 소방공무원의 화재진압 활동이 어려워 국가적 재난으로 확대될 위험이 있다. 그렇기 때문에 초고층 복합빌딩물에서 발생하는 사고를 예방하거나 발생하는 사고의 피해를 최소화하는 등 재난관리를 통합적으로 하기 위한 방재정보센터의 운영이 무엇보다 중요시되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 초고층 복합빌딩의 개념과 문제점에 분석하고, 방재정보센터의 특성 및 향후 방안을 고찰하였다.
