This study was conducted to research into the recognition level of employment and overseas employment on 173 students majoring in dental technology at two colleges in Daegu metropolitan city and Jeju self-governing island through questionnaires which are recorded individually. The results are as follows. 1. About 31.8% students chose dental technician department taking their aptitude into consideration when they entered college. 52% students gained information about dental technology through internet, and 57.3% students among them, which was the highest level, were under age 20. 2. 48.6% students responded that they thought the level of satisfaction with major was average and there was a difference according to their ages among the level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their major and the previous knowledge of major they had gained before entering college. 75.1% students said they wouldn't transfer to other major even if they were given the chance, which was much higher than the opposite case. And only 2.3% students had dissatisfaction at their major, which means students majoring dental technology evaluate their major positively. 3. Most students(58.4%) wanted to get a job for living cost and 53.2% students took advice from their seniors or elderly people in choosing their jobs. 64.7% students answered they should have professional skills to get a good job, which was different according to their ages. In addition, 51.4% students of dental technology department regarded the opportunities to exert their abilities as the most important element in choosing their jobs. That means students value self-decision and selfrealization when they choose their jobs. 4. The majority of students(32.9%) preferred to work at the dental laboratory in dental college hospital as their workplace. Moreover, seniors over age 21 wanted to work in the field of porcelain and juniors under age 20 preferred to work in the implant part concerning the field which students wants to work. 5. About 91.3% students have ever heard about overseas employment and wanted to work abroad if given the opportunities(77.5%). This points out students have much interest in overseas employment and positive attitude. And there was a difference according to age and grade in case of the preferred country when they work abroad 6. The main barrier to overseas employment was a lack of communication ability(63.0%), therefore, students thought foreign language education should be activated to improve overseas employment(26.0%). To show this more specifically, juniors thought foreign language education and internship are most important factors(both are 21.4% alike), while seniors thought foreign language education is essential(24.6%) as a way to improve overseas employment. Students also thought that participation in language study club helps to prepare for overseas employment(69.4%). When putting all these survey results together, it's very important to develop people in advance who have job ability and language ability necessary for overseas employment as well as to improve job awareness in the field of dental technology. Consequently, it's needed to seek for various ways to get a overseas job through foreign language education and overseas internship.
This study examines the socio-cultural readjustment of the Korean students returning from overseas study at an early age. For this study 259 returnee students from elementary through high school completed a questionnaire which covered aspects such as school adjustment and re-acculturative stress in relationship to gender, grade, number of parents accompanying the students overseas, length of overseas stay, age of return, length of stay in Korea, and the acculturative stress experienced in a host culture. The findings indicate that re-acculturative stress level of returnee students is higher than the level of the acculturative stress, and that the two are positively related. Hierarchical multiple regression analyses reveal the grade and acculturative stress of returnee students as a significant predictor of school adjustment. The length of overseas stay and acculturative stress significantly predicted the re-acculturative stress level. The acculturative stress significantly affected both school adjustment and re-acculturative stress of returnee students back in Korea.
This study got a conclusion following by questionnaire individual own recording law from Mokpo, Iksan, Gangneung to the objects to the academic 608 Dental Hygiene students whom had for consciousness investigations about employment overseas of some special college Dental Hygiene students. 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental Hygiene, most students(51.3%), particularly most freshmen(57.3%), have chosen this major because of more job opportunities than students with other majors. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(30.8%). 2. Many students have heard about overseas employment, particularly in case of juniors(82.5%). They want to work abroad if they are given the chances(70.6%), which indicates that the Dental Hygiene majors have much interest and positive attitude in overseas employment. 3. The most significant barrier to their overseas employment is the language, and thus the Dental Hygiene majors should improve their language abilities to be more involved in working abroad. 4. Showed the difference that an experience and light oil, the country where wanted to get a job at that tried to listen to relevance about employment of dental hygiene students by a school year abroad about these results, overseas employment noted. 5. While 'foreign language education must become activation' showed average highest, results to have seen relevance about employment time promotion plan overseas of dental hygiene students by a school year showed a difference by a school year.
A number of Chinese students who are studying in Korea have been gradually increasing since Korea and China established diplomatic relations. Many of them sale Korean products to China while studying for their degree programs in colleges. This kind of transactions can be named C2C overseas direct sales. C2C overseas direct sales which are being performed by Chinese student are good for exportation of Korean products. However Some of these transactions are not legal according to present law, First, Chinese student don't have legal status to make the transactions. Second, Chinese students usually make false declarations for evading the taxes, including tariff and VAT, Third, Chinese students can not offer the after-sale service for the goods for the Chinese consumers. Although C2C transactions have some legal matters, they should not be banned by a one-size-fits-all method. In this study, we highly recommend for the development of C2C transactions, First, Korean government should give Chinese students legal status. Second, China customs must strictly prohibit illegal activities of smuggling by taking advantage of postal route. Third, sellers in China can offer the after-sale service to consumers through some specialist A/S firms.
Background: The globalization of the healthcare industry and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the global healthcare industry have opened up opportunities for specialized biotech healthcare professionals to seek overseas employment and career advancement. Objects: This study aimed to develop educational content essential for the overseas employment of digital bio-health professionals. Methods: A survey was conducted among 196 participants. Google Forms (Google) were utilized to create and administer the survey, employing purposive sampling, a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0 (IBM Co.), including Cronbach's α and independent sample t-tests to assess significant differences. Results: About half of college students are interested in overseas employment and international careers, while the other half had not. The most common reason for wanting to work or go overseas was "foreign experience will be useful for future activities in Korea." Students who had experience taking courses from the Bio-health Convergence Open Sharing University preferred overseas programs more than those who did not have that experience. In terms of the degree of desire for overseas education courses provided by universities, contents related to human health were the highest, followed by bio-health big data. Conclusion: Many students wanted to work and go overseas if there is sufficient support from the university. The findings in this study suggest that universities are necessary to play an important role in supporting students' aspirations to work or go overseas by providing language education, education and training programs, information on overseas jobs, and mentoring programs.
This study was conducted in order to promote students' interest in overseas employment and to present methods of improving education that suits globalization and internalization. From responses to individual written survey questionnaires answered by 439 students who are studying Dental technology at colleges in Kyung-ki and Chung-cheong. The following are the results regarding their satisfaction levels with their majors and their interest in working abroad: 1. Regarding the motivating factors to major in Dental technology, students(37.7%), particularly most juniors(43.5%), have chosen this major to get a this professional job. The most common source of information in choosing majors is the Internet(44.4%). There was a slight difference in their knowledge about the major before college among freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. 2. Most students do not want to change their majors even if they are provided with the chance to do so(69.2%). They are in general satisfied with their studies. The result shows that the Dental technology majors are positive toward their major. 3. Many students have heard about overseas employment, particularly in case of juniors(98.5%), and there was a difference among different years of studies. They want to work abroad if they are given the chances(79.3%), which indicates that the Dental Technology majors have much interest and positive attitude in overseas employment. 4. The most significant barrier to their overseas employment is the language, and thus the Dental technology majors should improve their language abilities to be more involved in working abroad.
Purpose: This study aimed to find overseas workplace and improve global competence through the preference survey on overseas employment by dental technology students. Methods: The survey sample consisted of 250 randomly selected dental technology students. Survey was conducted from March 1 to May 1 in 2012. Total of 245(98.0%) replies and analyzed 236 questionnaires excluding 9 incomplete questionnaires. The questionnaires used in this study consisted of 7 items for general information, overseas employment characteristics of 10 items, 7 items for overseas employment activation plane and job competency development of 7 items. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Win 19.0 statistics program. Results: Regarding general characteristics of the subjects, there were 131 third graders(55.5%), 63 first graders(26.7%) and 42 second graders(17.8%) among 130 males(55.1%) and 106 females(44.9%). 221(93.6%) of the subjects had no experience in language training. Students who had clinical training for 1-5 months were 123(52.1%), and 24(10.2%) students had more than six months. 89(37.7%) of the subjects had no clinical training. 155(65.7%) of the subjects hope to work with korean owner, and 81(34.3%) chose foreign owner. Favored working countries were Australia(41.5%), the United States(29.2%), Canada(18.2%) and other(11.0%). The field of dental ceramic was indicated to be the highest proportion of 104(44.1%). Period of training were 3 hours(40.3%) and 6 hours(35.2%). The most important training were language-centered education(54.2%), Job-oriented education(24.2%), local culture education(16.1%), other(3.0%) and Leadership Training(2.5%). The subjects chose overseas worker(44.9%), working-level practitioner (28.8%), successfully employed dental technology graduate(19.5%a) and professor(3.4%) as an instructor. The subjects get education and training information from professor(40.3%), other(28.0%), senior(14.4%), job site(8.9%) and acquaintance(8.5%). A credit exchange(2.46 points), a joint degree program(2.46 points), and a foreign professor(2.33 points) were needed to activate the overseas employment. A kind of dental prosthesis(3.58 points), carving tooth morphology(3.38 points), and majors of dental technology(3.30 points) were indicated to develop job competency for overseas employment. Age, year, clinical training experience and company owner were statistically meaningful data among the general characteristics affecting job competency development. Conclusion: The college needs to offer variety programs such as foreign language-centered education and a local job competency development program to graduates to be connected with international workplace and employment.
This study investigated the realities of information acquirements and its requirements in the overseas employment and domestic connected education for students at the department of radiation in order to provide basic information for developing the standard educational curriculum for future internationalization in the education of radiation and presenting its direction. The investigation implemented in this study was performed through a questionnaire with 688 students enrolled in the department of radiation. The conclusion of the investigation is summarized as follows : The answers for the question of 'No acquirements in the information of the overseas employment and connected education for radiological technologists' were 487 students (70.8%), and the reason that 'There are no chances in related education' was the highest rate, 424 students (61.6%), of the answers. In the education for the overseas employment, the answers for the question of 'Select a connected education program in school instead of study abroad' were the highest rate, 436 students (63.4%). The most concerned country for the overseas employment was 'Australia', 247 students (35.9%). As a result, answers for the interest, participation, need, and hope for the overseas employment showed high rates even though they demonstrated a low recognition level in the overseas employment. In addition, it is necessary to strategically plan an education program for this issue because all participants agree with the current stream.
The Journal of Industrial Management Society in Republic of Korea. In order to explore the effect of overseas language training on the development of foreign language accuracy, this study investigates the errors in English compositions produced by 27 Korean university students who received overseas language training for 15 weeks. For data collection, students were made to take two tests, a pretest and a posttest, a semester apart. The differences in composition elements and errors between the two tests were examined and statistical analyses were performed. Results showed that while the average length of the compositions and sentences increased, the number of sentences decreased in the posttest. Also, more errors were found in the posttest where the students tried to construct more complex sentence structures. The students' ability to generate sentences were found to have improved, while their competence in using grammatical elements accurately within sentences did not see great improvement. This implies that overseas language training was not effective for aiding the development of one's grammatical accuracy of a foreign language over a 15-week period for the students.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the overseas volunteer activities of university students on changes in global citizenship. Methods : This study was conducted as a one-group pre-posttest design. The study's subjects were students who participated in the 37th World Friends Korea Youth Volunteer Corps in 2018. Among them, 158 students who completed the survey were included in the analysis. The tool for measuring global citizenship was comprised of knowledge, skill, attitude, and willingness to practice. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 program, and the statistical significance was set to p<.05. Results : Among the study's participants, there were 123 females (77.85 %). By grade, there were the most juniors, with 68 (43.04 %). There were 53 (33.55 %) seniors, 28 (18.35 %) sophomores, and eight freshmen (5.06 %). Among all participants, 52.53 % had experience in global citizenship education, and 63.92 % had experience in activities related to global citizenship. Because of analyzing the changes in global citizenship before and after overseas volunteer activities, "skill" increased the most, from 3.51±.65 points to 4.34±.56 points (p< .001). Due to analyzing changes in global citizenship before and after overseas volunteerism, the knowledge and attitude of freshmen were statistically significantly positive, with 1.17± 1.23 (p=.011) and 1.41±1.22 (p=.008), respectively. Participants with global citizenship experience had a significant change in attitude (p=.018). Conclusion : It was confirmed that the overseas volunteer activities of undergraduate students in the university brought a positive change to global citizenship. Providing opportunities for global citizenship education and activities in elementary, middle, and high schools in the future will maximize the effects of overseas volunteer activities to improve global citizenship.
