  • This purpose of this paper is to focus on anti-Japanese literature and pro-Japanese literature skills among Korean literary history written in Japan, and to observe the differences between Korean and Japanese perception surrounding anti-Japanese and pro-Japanese literature. Analyzed texts are "Taste Korean Literature" by Saegusa Dosikatsu and "The Footsteps of Modern Literature of Chosun" by Shirakawa Yutaka, the earnest modern Korean literary historians written from the perspective of Japanese writers, and though there's no overall written history of literature, they were seen through with the perspective of Omura Masuo, at the forefront of Japanese researchers in modern and contemporary Korean literature. The main results of the review are as follow: First, In Korean literary history by Japan, the frame "pro-Japanese literature" is clearly embedded. It is clearly distinctive from the aspect of China or North Korea, and though it follows the narration system of South Korean literature, it also forms the breaking (turning) point of anti-Japanese and pro-Japanese literature relative to anti-Japanese and pro-Japanese literature. Second, even if it follows the narration system of South Korean literature, that question was constantly raised on existing Korean academic evaluation of anti-Japanese and pro-Japanese literature, and different interpretations of reading were practiced. For example, Korean academic circles highly regard literature of writers such as Kim, Jong han or Lee, Seok hoon, while Korean academics do not place much importance on Lee, Gwang Soo's pro-Japanese elements that are important. The third point is that generous marks are credited to writers with outstanding Japanese or to Japanese creative writing. As a result, they dissolve internal logic in different pro-Japanese collaborators such as Chang, Hyuk Ju, Kim, Sa Ryang, Lee, Seok hoon, or Kim, Yong Jae by melting the same "Japanese literature" in a cage. The last point is reading different inner thoughts of Kim, Jong-han or Lee, Seok-hoon unlike outspoken pro-Japanese collaborators such as Lee, Gwang soo, Jang, Hyuk Joo or Kim, Yong je. These points require more in-depth analysis, and will be continued in follow-up tasks.

  • This study examined the issue of criticism in Korean Chinese literature in 1990's. This is transitional time why China introduced a market economy system. It had an important effect on Korean Chinese society not the cultural climate but also literature. Besides, Diplomatic Relation between Korea and China in 1992 gave an impulsion to changing literature. So this study tried to take note of directionality of Korean Chinese literature through the Korean Chinese magazine Literature and Art(Munhakwayesul) and Zhangbaikshan. First issue of Korean Chinese literature in early 1990's is crisis and restoration of criticism genre. At that time criticism faced with what is modernity. Some critics insisted that criticism should to improve. So it was necessary to accept foreign theory. Then they were concerned postmodernism and deideology tendency. What was important thing is that they would find their culture identity. So few critics tried to communicated with world literature. Especially they emphasized communication with Korean writer who lives in other country. Ultimately they thought that Korean Chines literature must get literal universality and ethnic speciality. For example poet Nam-YoungJeon's totem poetry is representative work. The issues of Korean Chines criticism in 1990's are not directivity of literature but also directivity of culture identity. Korean Chines literature had departed from Socialistic realism little by little and had getting diversity. Above all things criticism aimed for international sense and ethnic culture identity.

  • This paper closely examines the textual representations of 'blackness' in Korean military camptown (gijichon) literature from 1950's to 1980's, and argues that the animalistic portrayals and almost compulsive bestialization of blacks reveal an attempted hierarchization of Koreans above blacks with an underlying belief in white supremacy in coming to terms with Korean postcolonial subjectivity. Going against the grain of nationalist readings of gijichon literature, which largely celebrate its resistance against US domination, this paper problematizes racialized postcoloniality emerging out of these stories that span over four decades. The paper demonstrates that the racist depictions of blacks as the Other and even sympathetic portrayals of black soldiers all work to legitimate white supremacy and hierarchize race in the formation of Korean postcolonial subjectivity, paradoxically reinforcing and perpetuating colonial racial ideologies.

  • This paper aims to identify the characteristics of literary therapy in relation to literature education. It also intends to clarify its distinctiveness. Literary therapy is not to teach literature. It does not deliver knowledge on agreed analyses, backgrounds and the nature of genres. Literary therapy encourages participants to fully appreciate one's thought and emotions and express them. The end goal is self-knowledge rather than the understanding of texts. Literary therapy focuses on self-knowledge through literatures as opposed to literature education which aims to encourage understandings of literature texts. In literary therapy, literature is media for personal growth facilitating self-expansion. Literature works enable participants to view oneself objectively by the means of one's responses to literature works. Literary therapy has more permissive viewpoints on recipients' response to literature texts than literature education. In addition, the subject of literary therapy is more unique and individualistic.

  • The present study examines the characteristics of the international literature of classification systems published in the period 1981-1990. The references in the 'Classification Literature' sections of International Classification and the references in these source items were examined. The present study focused on analyzing each of the following characteristics: format, subject, language, geographical origin, age, authorship and number of references. The findings from the data analyses show clearly that in the literature of classification systems, I) books were the most frequently cited format; 2) library and information science was the most frequently cited subject; 3) English was the major language; 4) the literature of each classification system was written predominently in English except for Library Bibliographic Classification; 5) the language of each source item was the same as that of the greatest number of references of that source item: 6) the U.S., Germany, India, Russia, and the U.K. were the major geographic origin of publication; 7) there was a very close relationship between country of publication and language: 8) the country of origin of the documents was cited more than any other country except for the U.S.: 9) Price's Index of the literature revealed that the literature was a soft science and the half-life of the literature was about 7.5 years; 10) there was a preponderance of single authorships; 11) the literature was not a scholarly or scientific literature, according to the average number of references in source items and the percentage of unreferenced items. The findings of this reference study provide a better understanding of the characteristics of the classification systems literature. They prove useful for the collection development and assist classification systems researchers to prepare linguistically for their careers and encourage international communication efforts.

The contents was compiled up to the Donguibogam to Chinese literature and documents encompass the Korea medical literature, Donguibogam related to the senses to identify the citation of each chapter, the actual quotation through doctrine and other publications revealed that the citation is to investigate how accurately identified through studying the analysis and observation. It is as following as I observed carefully the senses of Donguibogam quotations related to each other through doctrine and publishment institution follows in order of dynasties. There are four volumes of Han-dynasty, one volume of Weijinnanbei-Era, two volumes of Tang-dynasty, nineteen volumes of SongJinYuan-dynasty, seven volumes of Ming-dynasty as Chinese medical literature. There are four volumes of Chosun-dynasty as Korean medical literature. It is the most quotation publishment that the books of SongJinYuan-dynasty of above thirty-six-volume. It is the latest quotation book that is Gujinyigan in Chinese medical literature and Euirimchwalyo in Korean medical literature. It is very positive quotation considering even Donguibogam publishment year in 1613. The reference books are four volumes of Chosun-dynasty as Korean medical literature and thirty-two-volume of Chinese medical literature. By observing the quotation frequency, 157 times in Sheyideaiofang, 115 times in Yixuerumen, 74 times in Yixuegangmu, 39 times in Wanbinghuichun, 31 times in Euibangryuchwi, 30 times in Renzhezhizhifang and Gujinyigan, 28 times in Danxixinfafuyu, 23 times Hwangdineijing, 17 times in Nanshibizang and Yixuezhengchuan. Other else books have been cited less than 10 times. It might be made error that did not find the source of the books even though cited reference, also even though defining the source of reference it is only rare reference book. As mention above, there are a lot of discovering as the feature of reference Publications. Most of all we could find out the reference literature cited in Donguibogam, however we couldn't clarify other books in original books. Thus, we should remember that it did not coincide with cited marks when studying the Donguibogam.
