The objective of this research is to assess various factors affecting E-learning in Korean language education. In this research, we hypothesize that several factors such as absorption, motivation and tutors increase the educational effects of E-learning and ultimately affect learning attitude and satisfaction of students in E-learning. To discuss the hypothesis, we analyzed survey data of 300 students who were taking E-learning class of Korean language for three weeks in October 2007 based on Structural Equation Model. The result of our analysis shows that the factors such as absorption, motivation, tutors have positive effects on E-learning in Korean language education and positive influence on learning attitude and satisfaction on students as well.

Recently, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) received widely held attention from diverse audiences. However, to the author's knowledge, relatively little attention was paid to the educational implications of voice recognition (VR) softwares in language teaching in general, and teaching and learning pronunciation in particular. This study explores, and extends the applicability of VR softwares toward second language research areas addressing how VR softwares might facilitate interview data entering processes. To aid the readers' understanding in this field, the background of classroom interaction research, and the rationale of why interview data, therefore the role of VR softwares, becomes critical in this realm of inquiry will be discussed. VR softwares' development and a brief report on the features of up-to-date VR softwares will be sketched. Finally, suggestions for future studies investigating the impact of VR softwares on second language learning, teaching, and research will be offered.

본 연구는 재한 중국인 유학생들의 문화정체감, 학습 동기, 학습전략 및 제2 언어 습득의 경향을 분석함으로써 이 네 가지 변인의 구조 관계를 밝히고 이를 통해 한국어 학습 과정에서 유학생의 문화정체감과 학습 동기, 학습전략을 촉진하는 데 있어서 기초자료를 제공하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 200명을 대상으로 예비조사를 통해 신뢰도와 타당성을 검증하였다. 본조사는 2023년 5월 28일부터 6월 15일까지 서울, 경기도, 부산, 충청도 소재 6개 대학의 중국유학생 1,006명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 변인 간의 구조적 관계는, 문화정체감은 학습 동기, 학습전략 및 제2언어 습득에 정적으로 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 학습 동기는 학습전략, 제2언어 습득에 정적(+)으로 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 학습전략은 제2언어 습득에 정적(+)으로 영향을 주었다. 넷째, 문화정체감과 학습전략 간의 학습동기와 학습전략은 정적인(+) 매개 역할과 다중 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 국어 학습 과정에서 유학생의 문화정체감과 학습 동기, 학습전략을 촉진하기 위해서 유학생들의 문화정체감 형성의 직접적 체험을 기회를 늘리고 실제 중심의 다각적인 교육과정의 편성 및 교수법이 필요함을 시사하고 있다.

The 121 five-year-old Korean subjects of this study were divided in 3 groups based on their experience in learning a foreign language (English). A battery of tests was administered to measure spoken and written language ability and the 3 metalinguistic domains of phonological, semantic, and syntactic awareness. Spoken language ability was positively correlated with semantic and syntactic awareness. The relative importance of each metalinguistic domain varied with level of written language development. Phonological awareness was the only predictor of decoding. Syntactic awareness and phonological awareness were significant variables in sentence comprehension. Metalinguistic ability was a better predictor of written language development than spoken language ability. Foreign language learning experience had an effect on syntactic awareness: low experience was superior to no experience, but high experience was not superior to low experience.

The purpose of this paper is to discover how the use of digital applications can affect students' attitudes toward positive classroom participation and performance in learning a foreign language. Participants of this study were 128 students who took a foreign language class at a high school in central Korea. To find out students' perceptions and attitudes toward the effect of using a digital application for their foreign language study, online questionnaire and focus-group interview were conducted. Our research findings revealed that these students could engage in active language learning and experience learning improvement while studying a foreign language with digital applications. The improvement was possible by creating more interactive activities and quizzes. In addition, the digital application provided students immediate feedback. It gave students and teachers various motivations beyond the traditional 'chalk and talk' format of text-only-classes. This study provides an overview of the usefulness of digital application. In addition, it provides understanding for students' perceptions and involvement using digital application in a foreign language classroom.

This study introduces a new approach in Korean morphological analysis combining dictionary-based techniques with Transformer-based deep learning models. The key innovation is the use of a BERT-based reranking system, significantly enhancing the accuracy of traditional morphological analysis. The method generates multiple suboptimal paths, then employs BERT models for reranking, leveraging their advanced language comprehension. Results show remarkable performance improvements, with the first-stage reranking achieving over 20% improvement in error reduction rate compared with existing models. The second stage, using another BERT variant, further increases this improvement to over 30%. This indicates a significant leap in accuracy, validating the effectiveness of merging dictionary-based analysis with contemporary deep learning. The study suggests future exploration in refined integrations of dictionary and deep learning methods as well as using probabilistic models for enhanced morphological analysis. This hybrid approach sets a new benchmark in the field and offers insights for similar challenges in language processing applications.

본 연구의 목적은 어휘 학습의 측면에서 컴퓨터 보조 학습을 통한 컴퓨터 기술의 효과와 유용성을 알아보고자 하는데 있다. 컴퓨터 기술을 통한 멀티미디어 수업은 네 가지 (듣기, 말하기, 일기, 쓰기의) 언어기술과 관련하여 다양한 언어학습방법을 제공한다. 한국인 영어 언어 학습자는 주입식 교육에 익숙해져 왔으며, 단어를 습득하는데 있어 반복적인 어휘 암기방법을 활용한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 세 가지 연령 그룹을 대상으로 설문 조사와 교육용 멀티미디어 학습실험이 이루어져있다. 본 연구는 오프라인에서의 어휘학습과 다르게 교사는 컴퓨터 멀티미디어프로그램을 응용하여 교실 수준에 적합한 어휘 학습 응용 프로그램을 어떻게 효과적으로 개선 할 수 있는지 밝히고자 한다.

This paper presents an internet-based self-learning educational system which can be enhancing efficiency in the learning process of Java language. The proposed self-learning educational system is called Java Web Player(JWP), which is a Java application program and is executable through Java Web Start technologies. In this paper, three important sequential learning processes : concept learning process, programming practice process and assessment process are integrated in the proposed JWP using Java Web Start technologies. This JWP enables the learners to achieve efficient and interesting self-learning since the learning process is designed to enhance the multimedia capabilities on the basis of educational technologies. Also, online voice presentation and its related texts together with moving images are synchronized for efficient language learning process. Furthermore, a simple/useful compiler is included in the JWP for providing language practice environment such as coding, editing, executing and debugging Java source files. Finally repeated practice can make the learners to understand easily the key concepts of Java language. Simple multiple choices are given suddenly to the learners while they are studying through the JWP and the test results are displayed on the message box.

The purpose of this study is to summarize PWIM (Picture Words Inductive Model) which is one of learner-centered vocabulary teaching-learning models, and suggest ways to implement them in Korean language education. The pictures that are used in the Korean language education field help visualize the specific shape, color, and texture of the vocabulary that is the learning target; thus, helping beginner learners to recognize the meaning of the sound. Visual material stimulates the intrinsic schema of the learner and not only becomes a 'bridge' connecting the mother tongue and the Korean language, but also reduces difficulty in learning a foreign language because of the ambiguity between meaning and sound in Korean and all languages. PWIM shows commonality with existing learning methods in that it uses visual materials. However, in the past, the teacher-centered learning method has only imitated the teacher because the teacher showed a piece-wise, out-of-life photograph and taught the word. PWIM is a learner-centered learning method that stimulates learners to find vocabulary on their own by presenting visual information reflecting the context. In this paper, PWIM is more suitable for beginner learners who are learning specific concrete vocabulary such as personal identity (mainly objects), residence and environment, daily life, shopping, health, climate, and traffic. The purpose of this study was to develop a method of using PWIM suitable for Korean language learners and teaching procedures. The researchers rearranged the previous research into three steps: brainstorming and word organization, generalization of semantic and morphological rules of extracted words, and application of words. In the case of PWIM, you can go through all three steps at once. Otherwise, it is possible to divide the three steps of PWIM and teach at different times. It is expected that teachers and learners using the PWIM teaching-learning method, which uses realistic visual materials, will enable making an effective class together.

본 연구는 국어 교과를 지원하는 ICT활용 교수 학습 모형의 개발에 관한 내용이다. 우선 국어 교과에서 ICT 활용 교수 학습 모형을 개발하기 위한 모형 개발의 유형을 3가지 제안하고, 국어 교과에서 적용되는 교수 학습모형 및 ICT 활용유형 등의 문헌연구 및 교과분석을 통하여 ICT활용 교수.학습 모형을 개발함으로써, 교수 학습 모형을 중심으로 ICT 활용을 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 국어과 ICT 활용 교수 학습 모형은 다른 교과에서 ICT를 활용한 교수 학습 모형을 설계하는데 활용될 것으로 기대되며, 또한 국어과 교수 학습에서 단순히 매체를 이용한 흥미유발의 수준에서만 ICT를 활용하는 것이 아니라 필요한 단계에서 적절한 ICT를 효과적으로 사용할 수 있게 하고, 국어과 수업에 대한 전문성 향상에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
