  • In this study an optimization of greenhouse roof shape was performed to maximize solar light transmission which is one of the most important elements in greenhouse environment. To determine roof shape that maximize the total light transmissivity, a computer model for analysing light transmissivity was composed and the Genetic Algorithms was applied for solving optimization problems. By setting composite model as objective function(fitness function), the optimum combination of design variables(roof inclination angle, width ratio) was searched using Genetic Algorithms. The optimum combination of input variables for the maximum light transmissivity at Suwon in winter was found 40 degree root angle , 0.5 width ratio, for two span greenhouses and 37 $_。 / roof angle, 0.7 width ratio, for single span greenhouses.es.

  • This paper presents numerical analysis and design optimization of various turbine blade cooling techniques with three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) analysis. The fluid flow and heat transfer have been performed using ANSYS-CFX 11.0. A fan-shaped hole for film-cooling has been carried out to improve film-cooling effectiveness with the radial basis neural network method. The injection angle of hole, lateral expansion angle of hole and ratio of length-to-diameter of the hole are chosen as design variables and spatially averaged film-cooling effectiveness is considered as an objective function which is to be maximized. The impingement jet cooling has been performed to investigate heat transfer characteristic with geometry variables. Distance between jet nozzle exit and impingement plate, inclination of nozzle and aspect ratio of nozzle hole are considered as geometry variables. The area averaged Nusselt number is evaluated each geometry variables. A rotating rectangular channel with staggered array pin-fins has been investigated to increase heat transfer performance ad to decrease friction loss using KRG modeling. Two non-dimensional variables, the ratio of the eight diameter of the pin-fins and ratio of the spacing between the pin-fins to diameter of the pin-fins selected as design variables. A rotating rectangular channel with staggered dimples on opposite walls are formulated numerically to enhance heat transfer performance. The ratio of the dimple depth and dimple diameter are selected as geometry variables.

  • This paper represents axial mean velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and swirl number based on momentum flux measured in the X-Y plane and Y-Z plane respectively of a cone type gas swirl burner by using X-probe from the hot-wire anemometer system. This experiment is carried out at flow rates 350 and $450{\ell}/min$ respectively, which are equivalent to the combustion air flow rate necessary for heat release 15,000 kcal/hr in gas furnace, in the test section of a subsonic wind tunnel. Axial mean velocities and turbulent kinetic energies show that their maximum values exist centering around narrow slits situated radially on the edge of and in the forefront of a burner until $X/R{\fallingdotseq}1.5$, but they have a peculiar shape like a starfish diffusing and developing into inward and outward of a burner by means of the mixing between flows ejected from narrow slits, an inclination baffle plate and swirl vanes respectively according to downstream regions. Moreover, they show a relatively large value in the inner region of 0.5$S_m$ obtained by integration of velocity profiles shows a characteristic that has an inflection point composing of the maximum and minimum value until X/R<3, but shows close agreement with the geometric swirl number after a distance of X/R=3.

  • Objective: The Back Mapper is one type of Rasterstereography and it can be used in the clinic without radiation exposure. The purpose of our study was to prove the reliability and validity of the Back Mapper and to compare it with the Spinal Mouse, which is an assessment tool for spinal curvatures using a wheeled mouse, and the Cobb angle by X-ray. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Twenty healthy adults participated in the test to investigate for the inter-rater reliability, intra-rater reliability, and concurrent validity. The tests were performed with assessment devices for scoliosis such as the Back Mapper, Spinal Mouse and Cobb's angle. Data was analyzed by an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) value and a standard error of measurement for reliability and correlation analysis for validity. Results: Intra-rater reliability of the Back Mapper was good (Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=0.821-0.984, ICC=0.696-0.969) except for assessing the lordotic angle. Inter-rater reliability was good (Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=0.870-0.958, ICC=0.770-0.919) in assessment for trunk imbalance, rotation of scapulae, thoracic angle, lumbar angle, and kyphotic angle. The kyphotic angle in the Spinal Mouse had a significant correlation icompared with the Back Mapper (r=0.510, p<0.05), and the Cobb's angle from an X-ray had a significant correlation with trunk inclination (r=0.532, p<0.05). Conclusions: These findings provide good intra-reliability of the Back Mapper in healthy subjects, but the Back Mapper requires more experienced practice to have good inter-reliability. Also, the variables of the Back Mapper does not seem as appropriate compared with the Cobb angle by X-ray.

  • Objective: This study was to investigate the effects of Task-oriented training for Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM), gait and balance function in cerebral palsy. Design: Randomized controlled trials. Methods: Twenty four subjects were recruited by means of a convenience sampling from Kangseo-Gu G rehabilitation center. Subjects were 24 inpatients and were randomly divided into a task-oriented training group and a conventional group. Twelve patients were experimental group who executed the task-oriented training (5 times/wk) for 4 weeks. The task-oriented program mainly focused on the capabilities of independent walking, with the angle of inclination set at 0 degrees and walking at a self-selected comfortable speed. In addition, balance training included the one-legged standing with weight-shifting and task-oriented training. Twelve patients were control group who executed only general conventional therapy (5 times/wk) for 4 weeks. All subjects were evaluated about the motor function, gait and balance function. Subjects have conducted the measured variables, GMFM, GAITRite, PDM Multifunction Force Measuring Plate after treatment. Results: There was statistically significant increase of Gross Motor Function Measure scores of the experimental group and control group after 4 weeks (p<.05). There was statistically significant increase of gait and balance function of the experimental group after 4 weeks of task-oriented training (p<.05). The experimental group showed a significantly improvement in GMFM, gait, and balance compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study proved that task-oriented training after stroke can improve Gross Motor Function Measure, gait and balance. Thus this study can suggest that task-oriented training for gross motor function, gait and balance be effective on the cerebral palsy.

  • The autofocus is one of the important processes in the automated vision inspection or measurements using optical microscopes, because it influences the measuring accuracy. In this paper, we used the confocal microscope configuration based on not a pinhole but a single-mode optical fiber. A single mode fiber has the functions of source and detector by applying the reciprocal scheme. As a result, we acquired a simple system configuration and easy alignment of the optical axis. Also, we embodied a fast autofocus system by acquiring the focus error signal through a source modulation technique. The source modulation technique can effectively reduce physical disturbances compared with objective lens modulation, and it is easily applicable to general optical microscopes. The focus error signal was measured with respect to the modulation amplitude, reflectance of the specimen and inclination angle of the measuring surface. The performance of the proposed autofocus system was verified through autofocusing flat mirror surface. In addition, we confirmed that source modulation rarely degrades the depth resolution by the comparison between the FWHMs of axial response curves.

  • In this paper, a freeform reflector is designed for low road lighting. In the case of low road lighting, which requires light distribution over a wide lane compared to the height, it is difficult to match uniformity, compared to existing road lighting. To satisfy road lighting grade M3, the reflector was divided into nine parts, and the inclination of the reflecting surface was changed to have the desired light distribution. The fitted curves were drawn based on each point, following the formula that was derived. Through the Street Light Simulation of LightTools, we confirmed that it meets the M3 road lighting standard; we then made it directly and satisfied the lighting grade on an actual road, proving the validity of the design result.

  • Social Network Aggregators are used to maintain and manage manifold accounts over multiple online social networks. Displaying the Activity feed for each social network on a common dashboard has been the status quo of social aggregators for long, however retrieving the desired data from various social networks is a major concern. A user inputs the query desiring the specific outcome from the social networks. Since the intention of the query is solely known by user, therefore the output of the query may not be as per user's expectation unless the system considers 'user-centric' factors. Moreover, the quality of solution depends on these user-centric factors, the user inclination and the nature of the network as well. Thus, there is a need for a system that understands the user's intent serving structured objects. Further, choosing the best execution and optimal ranking functions is also a high priority concern. The current work finds motivation from the above requirements and thus proposes the design of a query processing system to retrieve information from social network that extracts user's intent from various social networks. For further improvements in the research the machine learning techniques are incorporated such as Latent Dirichlet Algorithm (LDA) and Ranking Algorithm to improve the query results and fetch the information using data mining techniques. The proposed framework uniquely contributes a user-centric query retrieval model based on natural language and it is worth mentioning that the proposed framework is efficient when compared on temporal metrics. The proposed Query Processing System to Retrieve Information from Social Network (QPSSN) will increase the discoverability of the user, helps the businesses to collaboratively execute promotions, determine new networks and people. It is an innovative approach to investigate the new aspects of social network. The proposed model offers a significant breakthrough scoring up to precision and recall respectively.

  • This study was conducted comparative analysis of juvenile brassiere and adult brassiere to identify the problems of brassieres on the market. The raw data for this study was processed by SPSS 10.1 version(statistical software) and the results of this study can be summarized as follows. 1) The result of comparative analysis of juvenile brassiere and adult brassiere pattern is that each pattern showed no difference. 2) The results of the comparative analysis of juvenile and adult brassiere pattern in wing's length and angle is that even though there are some difference between juvenile and adult in side line inclination of brassiere. there is no setting difference but size of that brassiere. 3) The result of a comparative analysis pattern and cup size measurement of juvenile brassiere and adult brassiere is that even though the adult cup girth and angle is bigger than the juvenile because adults have more protrusive and bigger volume and well developed breast, some case rather the adult's cup angle is smaller than the juvenile as brand. And as we grow up to be a woman, difference of lower breast girth and breast girth are become big while difference of upper breast girth and breast girth are become small for that reason upper cup must be lower and lower cup must be higher but there is almost no difference between adult and juvenile. 4) The result of a comparative analysis of juvenile brassiere and adult brassiere bust point of the pattern is that adult brassiere's distance between bust points 6.12cm, and juvenile's 5.6cm, there are only 0.52cm difference between two products and just 0.4cm, size grading. These results are explained that even though when grow up to be a woman the distance between two bust points become to be long and breast toward out side but brassiere size don't vary with body characteristic.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of orthognathic surgery on occlusal force. The maximum bite force was measured in 26 dentofacial deformity patients, aged 14-26(mean age 20.3) years, before surgery and at IMF removal, 3, 6, and 12months postsurgery. To grope the correlation of bite force and skeletal change after orthognathic surgery, the cephalometric headplates were measured, tabulated and statistically analyzed. The results were as follows. 1. The presurgical maximum bite force was 13.7kg in upper first molar(rt. Side 12.7kg, it. Side 14.6kg). There was remarkable difference with that of normal occlusion. 2. The recovery of bite force was very significant in according to the operation method and the duration of IMF that was 7.6kg at IMF removal, 14.2kg at 3 months, 19.7kg at 6 months. 26.1kg at 12 months postsurgery. 3. To fasten the recovery and to increase the bite force after orthognathic surgery, the long IMF time and the injury to the masticatory muscle should be avoided by the internal rigid fixation and early physical exercise. 4. The bite force was positively correlated to the changes of mandibular plane angle, the angle between platatal plane and mandibular plan, the angle between occlusal plane and mandibular plane, and negatively correlated to the changes of mandibular body length in craniofacial structure. 5. There was no correlationship between bit force and mesial inclination of tooth long axis of first molar in this subject. 6. There was no correlation between the changes of bite force and the changes of mechanical advantage of the temporal and masseter muscle.
