  • This paper Introduces an electronic auction service to be provided on Interactive TV (T-auction). This converged service is expected to much enhance the quality of the service to current online auction users through vivid visualization and live Interactive experience. Our study focuses on how the characteristics of the interactive TV-based shopping platform can affect users' attitudes towards the converged service. To develop our proposed research model, we extended the technology acceptance model and integrated it with a hedonic factor, or perceived enjoyment to reflect the dual characteristics of the converged system. We also adopted the variable of intermediary trust In the service as a critical mediating determinant for a successful commutations-mediated commerce. The research model was verified with an empirical study conducted on 970 Korean online auction users. Results show that both trust and perceived usefulness positively affect user adoption of the service. Trust had not only a direct effect on users' attitudes toward T-auction but also an indirect one by mediating the service quality, information quality, perceived enjoyment and ease of use. Meanwhile, the hedonic factor of T-auction contributes to increasing both the level of the intermediary's trust and its perceived usefulness. Users' enjoyment also was found to help form a positive attitude toward T-auction services. Theoretical and practical implications of this study for current e-auction service providers and potential t-auction service providers are also discussed.

  • Impact characteristics of six DM(Diabetes Mellitus) shoe insole materials (Podian, Plastazote black, Plastazote white, Flexible PU foam, Podialene 200 blue and Podia flex) and three multi-density insoles (AP, OS and PW insoles) were determined in the present study, using a self-designed impact measurement system. The coefficient of restitution, the median frequency and the attenuation index were calculated for each material, based on impact forces and linear accelerations. Podian revealed the superiority in the coefficient of restitution and the attenuation index. The median frequency of the Flexible PU foam was the smallest. Results also showed that the heel region was the most impact-attenuated among other areas in the insole. OS insole showed the better characteristics in the coefficient of restitution and the median frequency. but there was no significant difference in the attenuation index. Similar impact characteristics were found in all areas in PW insole. since it was basically of the same dual-density polyurethane.

  • An analytical method using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence (FL) detection was developed for simultaneously analyzing 10 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and 18 nitro-derivatives of PAHs (NPAHs). The two-dimensional HPLC system consists of an on-line clean-up and reduction for NPAHs in the 1st dimension, and separation of the PAHs and the reduced NPAHs and their FL detection in the 2nd dimension after column-switching. To identify an ideal clean-up column for removing sample matrix that may interfere with detection of the analytes, the characteristics of 8 reversed-phase columns were evaluated. The nitrophenylethyl (NPE)-bonded silica column was selected because of its shorter elution band and larger retention factors of the analytes due to strong dipole-dipole interactions. The amino-substituted PAHs (reduced NPAHs), PAHs and deuterated internal standards were separated on polymeric octadecyl-bonded silica (ODS) columns and by dual-channel detection within 120 min including clean-up and reduction steps. The limits of detection were 0.1-9.2 pg per injection for PAHs and 0.1-140 pg per injection for NPAHs. For validation, the method was applied to analyze crude extracts of fine particulate matter ($PM_{2.5}$) samples and achieved good analytical precision and accuracy. Moreover, the standard reference material (SRM1649b, urban dust) was analyzed by this method and the observed concentrations of PAHs and NPAHs were similar to those in previous reports. Thus, the method developed here-in has the potential to become a standard HPLC-based method, especially for NPAHs.

  • OneNAND flash is a high-performance hybrid flash memory that combines the advantages of both NAND flash and NOR flash. OneNAND flash has not only all virtues of NAND flash but also greatly enhanced read performance which is considered as a downside of NAND flash. As a result, it is widely used in mobile applications such as mobile phones, digital cameras, PMP, and portable game players. However, most of the general purpose operating systems, such as Linux, can not exploit the read performance of OneNAND flash because of the restrictions imposed by their virtual memory system and block I/O architecture. In order to solve that problem, we suggest a new approach called virtual I/O segment. By using virtual I/O segment, the superior read performance of OneNAND flash can be exploited without modifying the existing block I/O architecture and MTD subsystem. Experiments by implementations show that this approach can reduce read latency of OneNAND flash as much as 54%.

  • In this work, we study the problem of privacy-preservation data publishing in moving objects databases. In particular, the trajectory of a mobile user in a plane is no longer a polyline in a two-dimensional space, instead it is a two-dimensional surface of fixed width $2A_{min}$, where $A_{min}$ defines the semi-diameter of the minimum spatial circular extent that must replace the real location of the mobile user on the XY-plane, in the anonymized (kNN) request. The desired anonymity is not achieved and the entire system becomes vulnerable to attackers, since a malicious attacker can observe that during the time, many of the neighbors' ids change, except for a small number of users. Thus, we reinforce the privacy model by clustering the mobile users according to their motion patterns in (u, ${\theta}$) plane, where u and ${\theta}$ define the velocity measure and the motion direction (angle) respectively. In this case, the anonymized (kNN) request looks up neighbors, who belong to the same cluster with the mobile requester in (u, ${\theta}$) space: Thus, we know that the trajectory of the k-anonymous mobile user is within this surface, but we do not know exactly where. We transform the surface's boundary poly-lines to dual points and we focus on the information distortion introduced by this space translation. We develop a set of efficient spatiotemporal access methods and we experimentally measure the impact of information distortion by comparing the performance results of the same spatiotemporal range queries executed on the original database and on the anonymized one.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of performing a cognitive task during treadmill walking on the stride rate variability. Ten university students(age $24.0{\pm}0.25$, height $172{\pm}3.1cm$, weight $66{\pm}5.3kg$) were participated in dual task experiments which consist of both walking alone and walking with a cognitive task. Two-back task was selected for the cognitive task since it did not have learning effect during the experimental procedure.3D motion analysis system was used to measure subject's position data by changing walking speed with 4.8, 5.6, 6.4, 6.8, and 7.2 km/hr. Stride rate was calculated by the time between heel contact and heel contact. Accuracy rate of a cognitive task during walking, coefficient of variance, allometric scaling methods and Fano factor were used to estimated the stride rate variability. As the walking speed increased, accuracy rate decreased and the logarithmic value of Fano factor increased which showed the statistical difference. Thus it can be concluded that the gait control mechanism is distracted by the secondary attention focus which is the cognitive task ie. two-back task. Further study is needed to clarify this by increasing the number of subject and experiment time.

  • In this paper, we design microstrip antenna for GPS / WiFi for broadband mobile communication. The proposed antenna is designed to be used in the FR-4 (er = 4.3), the size is $40mm{\times}50mm$, and it can be used in the GPS frequency band of 1.6GHz and the WiFi frequency band of 5GHz. 2014, and the simulation result shows that the gain is 1.909dB at 1.6GHz and 4.607dB at 5GHz. The S-parameter also showed a result of less than -10dB (WSWR2: 1) in the desired frequency band. Recently, it is expected that GPS navigation system, which is widely used in smart phones and tablet PCs, can be easily and conveniently used by combining and applying GPS with WiFi.

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to validate the design criteria of the concrete modular road system, which is a new semi-bridge-type concept road, through a comparison of numerical analysis results and actual loading test results under static axial loads. METHODS : To design the semi-bridge-type modular road, both the bridge design code and the concrete structural design code were adopted. The standard truck load (KL-510) was applied as the major traffic vehicle for the design loading condition. The dimension of the modular slab was designed in consideration of self-weight, axial load, environmental load, and combined loads, with ultimate limit state coefficients. The ANSYS APDL (2010) program was used for case studies of center and edge loading, and the analysis results were compared with the actual mock-up test results. RESULTS : A full-scale mock-up test was successfully conducted. The maximum longitudinal steel strains were measured as about 35 and 83.5 micro-strain (within elastic range) at center and edge loading locations, respectively, under a 100 kN dual-wheel loading condition by accelerating pavement tester. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the results of the comparison between the numerical analysis and the full-scale test, the maximum converted stress range at the edge location is 32~51% of the required standard flexural strength under the two times over-weight loading condition. In the case of edge loading, the maximum converted stresses from the Westergaard equation, the ANSYS APDL analysis, and the mock-up test are 1.95, 1.7, and 2.3 times of that of the center loading case, respectively. The primary reason for this difference is related to the assumption of the boundary conditions of the vertical connection between the slab module and the crossbeam module. Even though more research is required to fully define the boundary conditions, the proposed design criteria for the concrete modular road finally seems to be reasonable.

  • We previously isolated 9 clones that show stronger signal compared to B. mori cytoplasmic actin gene (BmA3) by using a dot blot hybridization. In this study, we focused on one clone among these clones which has high amino acid homology with elongation factor ${\alpha}$ gene of B. mori. This clone, named $bEF1{\alpha}$ (B. mori elongation factor ${\alpha}$) was ubiquitously expressed in all tissues and developmental stage of B. mori. As result of promoter assay using dual luciferase assay system, we found the highest transcription activity region (-702/+38) in the 5'-flanking region of $bEF1{\alpha}$ gene, which has about 20 fold more intensive promoter activity than BmA3 promoter. Moreover, the $bEF1{\alpha}$ promoter was normally regulated in Bm5, Sf9, and S2 cells. Therefore, we suggest that $bEF1{\alpha}$ promoter may be used more powerful and effectively for transgene expression in various insects containing B. mori as a universal promoter.

  • The radiation fields following the large loss of coolant accident (LOCA) have been assessed for the vital areas in the service building of Wolsong 2, 3, and 4 nuclear power plants. The ORIGEN2 code was used in calculating the fission product inventories in the fuel. The source terms were based upon the activity released following the dual failure accident scenario, i.e., a LOCA followed by impaired emergency core cooling (ECC). Configurations of the reactor building, the service building, and the ECC system were constructed for the QAD-CG calculations. The dose rates and the time-integrated doses were calculated for the time period of upto 90 days after the accident. The results showed that the radiation fields in the vital access areas were found to be sufficiently low. Some areas however showed relatively high radiation fields that may require limited access.
