The purpose of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength (${\mu}TBS$), failure modes and bonding interfaces of self-etching and three self-adhesive resin cements to dentin and indirect composite resin. Cylindrical composite blocks (Tescera, Bisco Inc.) were luted with resin cements (PA: Panavia F 2.0, Kuraray Medical Inc., RE: RelyX Unicem Clicker, 3M ESPE., MA: Maxem, Kerr Co., BI: BisCem, Bisco Inc.) on the prepared occlusal dentin surfaces of 20 extracted molars. After storage in distilled water for 24 h, $1.0\;mm\;{\times}\;1.0\;mm$ composite-dentin beams were prepared. ${\mu}TBS$ was tested at a cross-head speed of 0.5 mm/min. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test. Dentin sides of all fractured specimens and interfaces of resin cements-dentin or resin cements-composite were examined at FESEM (Field Emission-Scanning Electron Microscope). In conclusion, PA and RE showed higher bond strength and closer adaptation than MA and BI when indirect composite blocks were luted to dentin using a self-etching and three self-adhesive resin cements.
5 Haptophyta 2 Chrysophyta and 1 Prasinophyta species of scale-bearing nanoflagellates were collected in coastal water of Korea and identified by examination of their scales with Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (JSM-6700F). These included Chrysochromulina ahrengoti, C. simplex, C. spinifera, Prymnesium parvum, P. patelliferum, Mamiella gilva, Paraphysomonas imperforata and Pa. vestita. The surface of cells covered with unmineralised scales (5 Haptophyte and 1 Prasinophyta species) or silica scales (2 Chrysophyta species). Scale-covered flagella are found in the 1 Prasinophyta species. One of the main structural characteristics of Haptophyte is the haptonema, a filiform organelle which occurs together with the two flagella. It may be long and coiling upon irritation as in Chrysochromulina, or short and noncoiling as in Prymnesium.
Seven infants less than age 3 months underwent patch aortoplasty and tube graft bypass for relief of coarctation of aorta. All had intractable congestive heart failure, despite aggressive medical therapy Each infant had other cardiac anomalies including patent ductus arteriosus, ventricular septal defect, atrial septal defect and congenital mitral stenosis. All patients underwent closure of the ductus arteriosus and patch angioplasty of the aorta to produce a luminal diameter of at least 15mm or tube graft interposition utilizing the Gortex tube graft diameter larger than 10mm. In 5 patients who had ventricular defect, they underwent pulmonary arterial banding. &ere was one hospital death 17 days after operation secondary to the hydronephrosis and renal failure. Hospitalization was less than 10 days after operation except one case. In 3 patients who had associated VSD, open heart surgery[VSD closure+PA debanding]was done without difficulty. Surgical repair of critical coarctation of the aorta in infants can safely be offered despite the poor preoperative condition and presence of other cardiac anomalies.
Two patients with uncorrectable cyanotic cardiac anomalies underwent total cavopulmonary shunt[modified Fontan operation]. Case I was a 14 years old male with dyspnea and cyanosis after birth. Aortogram showed TGA combined with overriding of aorta, pulmonary stenosis, complete atrioventricular septal defect, interruption of inferior vena cava, and situs inversus totalis. We had performed total cavopulmonary shunt using with 16 mm Gortex Graft in single atrium to bypass the hepatic vein to pulmonary artery. Postoperatively, patient sustained low PaCO2 and low cardiac output and then expired at 19th postoperative day. The cause of death of the patient would be low cardiac output. Case II was a 6 years old female with dyspnea and cyanosis after birth. Aortogram showed tricuspid atresia[Type IIb], transposition of great arteries, atrial septal defect, ventricular septal defect and pulmonary stenosis, We had performed total cavo-pulmonary shunt using intraatrial baffle[tunnel] with Goretex patch. The postoperative course of this patient was good without event.
In this paper, we present surface treatments for achieving bonds between PMMA and PDMS substrates. Silane primer is used for the formation of hydroxyl group on PMMA surfaces. The formed hydroxyl groups enhance the bonding strength of PDMS-PMMA substrates without channel clogging and structure deformation. The bonding strength on the different surface treatments (include oxygen plasma, 3-APTES, and corona discharge) is evaluated to find optimal bonding condition. The maximum bonding strength at the optimal surface treatment is over 300 kPa. The surface treatment using silane primer can be used to the bonding process of Micro-TAS and Lab-on-a-Chip.
A study for increase of fan flow rate by geometric modification has been conducted to decrease temperature rise of marine generator inner part. Through experiment of a real product, a performance curve for various flow resistances was obtained. Flow analyses for each cases were done by using commercial code-FLUENT and the results were very similar to experimental data (0.7% deviation at normal operating condition). Through flow analysis results for various design geometric modification, a scroll type fan was adopted as a best design geometry with 100Pa more pressure and 22% more flow rate than original fan.

The object of this study was to observe the effects of Scutellariae Radix (SR) aqueous extracts on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced rat acute lung injury. Five different dosages of SR extracts were orally administered once a day for 28 days before LPS treatments, and then 5 hours after lipopolysaccharide treatment, all rats were sacrificed. 8 groups, each of 16 rats per group were used in the present study. Changes on the body weights, lung weights, pulmonary transcapillary albumin transit, arterial gas parameters (pH, $PaO_2$ and $PaCO_2$) bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and proinflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$ (TNF-${\alpha}$), interleukin-1${\beta}$ (IL-1${\beta}$) contents, total cell numbers, neutrophil and alveolar macrophage ratios, lung malondialdehyde (MDA), myeloperoxidase (MPO), proinflammatory cytokine TNF-${\alpha}$ and IL-1${\beta}$ contents were observed with histopathology of the lung, changes on luminal surface of alveolus (LSA), thickness of alveolar septum, number of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs). The results were compared with a potent antioxidant ${\alpha}$-lipoic acid, 60 mg/kg, in which the effects on LPS-induced acute lung injury were already confirmed. The results obtained in this study suggest that over 125 mg/kg of SR extracts showed favorable effects on the LPS-induced acute lung injury, and 250 mg/kg of SR extracts resembling acute respiratory distress syndrome mediated by their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and .as similar to ${\alpha}$-lipoic acid in the present study. Therefore, it is expected that SR will be showed favorable effects on the acute respiratory distress syndrome.

The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of water extracts from Phellinus linteus on lipid composition and antioxidative system in rats fed high fat high cholesterol diet. Rats were divided into four experimental groups which are composed of normal diet group, high fat high cholesterol diet group, high fat high cholesterol diet with 50 mg/kg b.w water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented group (PA group), high fat high cholesterol diet with 100 mg/kg b.w water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented group (PB group). The serum TG and cholesterol contents of the water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented groups (PA and PB groups) were decreased compared to the high fat high cholesterol diet group. The serum HDL-cholesterol contents of the water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented groups were increased compared to the high fat high cholesterol diet group. The serum LDL-cholesterol and AI of the water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented groups were significantly decreased compared to the high fat high cholesterol diet group. Supplementation of water extracts from Phellinus linteus groups (PA and PB groups) resulted in increased activities of superoxide dismutase. Hepatic glutathione peroxidase (GSH-px) were increased compared to the high fat high cholesterol diet group. TBARS values in liver and plasma were reduced in water extracts from Phellinus linteus supplemented groups. These result suggest that supplementation of water extracts from Phellinus linteus may have a pronounced impact on lipid composition and antioxidative system in the rats fed high fat high cholesterol diet.

TDS(Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy)system, for diagnosis of CRT manufacturing process, was designed and constructed. Outgassings and thermal desorptions from the part or materials of CRT can be measured and analysed with this system at various temperatures. The system is consisted of 3 parts, vacuum chamber and pumping system with variable conductance, sample heating stages & their controller, and outgassing measurement devices, like as ion gauge or quadrupole mass spectrometer. The ultimate pressure of the system was under $1{\times}10^{-7}$ Pa. With the variable conductance system, the effective pumping speed of the chamber could be controlled from sub l/s to 100 l/s. The effective pumping speed values were determined by dynamic flow measurement principle. The temperatures and ramp rate of sample were controlled by tungsten heater and PID controller up to 600℃ within ±1℃ difference to setting value. Ion gauge & QMS were calibrated for quantitative measurements. Some examples of TDS measurement data and application on the CRT process analysis were shown.

Since the use of CFC and HCFC refrigerants are to be restricted due to the depletion of ozone layer, this experiment applies the $NH_3$ gas to study the performance characteristics of $NH_3$ refrigeration system by the superheat control for improving the energy efficiency. The experiments are carried out for the condensing pressure of refrigeration system from 1,500 kPa to 1,600 kPa and for degree of superheat from $0^{\circ}C\;to\;10^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure. As a result of experiment, when the degree of superheat is $0^{\circ}C$ at each condensing pressure, the refrigeration system has the highest performance.
