In the domestic industrial sector, greenhouse gases emitted from the cement industry account for about 10%, with most of them generated during the cement clinker calcination process. During the calcination process, 57% of carbon dioxide is emitted from the decarbonation reaction of limestone, 30% from fuel consumption, and 13% from electricity usage. In response to these issues, the cement industry is making efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by developing technologies for raw material substitution and conversion, improving process efficiency by utilizing low-carbon alternative heat sources, developing CO2 capture and utilization technologies, and recycling waste materials. In addition, due to the limitations in purchasing and storing industrial byproducts generated from industrial facilities, many studies are underway regarding the recycling of construction waste. Therefore, this study analyzes the manufacture of calcium silicate cement (CSC), which can store carbon dioxide as carbonate minerals in industrial facilities, and aims to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly regenerated cement using construction waste.
The purpose of this study was to revise and reorganize the direction of the department of ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$Industrial High School though analysis of manufacturing status and workforce demand in Chungnam province focused on the Geumsan Area. In the study, ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$Industrial High School of the status and actual conditions were identified through interview, literature review and data analysis. Surveys of the school teachers, parents and students was conducted in order to investigate the awareness of renaming and reorganization of school departments, curriculum revision of the school. Statistical data was collected and analyzed in order to figure out manufacturing industry and its workforce demand of Chungnam Province in Korea. Findings of the study were as follows: Small and medium enterprises of manufacturing industry have been developed a lot in Geumsan Area in Chungnam province. Four major industries including (1) automobile parts, (2) electronic and information equipment, (3) Cutting edge culture, and (4) Agricultural-livestock and bio are intensively fostered as regional strategic industries in the Chungnam province. The manufacturing industry has a 33.6-percent, and then service-mining and manufacturing industry has a 80.0-percent of total number of employee in Geumsan Area. It is expected that industrial workforce demand of Geumsan Area come out of manufacturing and service-mining industrial sector. The following is recommended for the school curriculum revision: (1) focussing on mechanical control for the revision of computer applying mechanical department, (2) focussing on automation electric equipment for the revision of electric control department, (3) focussing on food process control for revising of bio-food industrial department. It's helpful to make a progress of the school that establish identification of industrial specialized high school as an institution of vocational education at the secondary level through supplying qualified workforce to Manufacturing industry in Chungnam Province.
As National Pension Scheme for all nation complete in 1999 through expanding application in cities, the public pension including Public Occupational Pension became main axis of old-age income maintenance. After 4years since then, now, it is only half of total National Pension insured persons who have been qualified to receive pension through participate and contribution. The other half of National Pension insured is left the excluded from public pension. This paper is intended to identify scale and characteristics of the excluded from public pension and to analysis its cause, and to explore policy measures for solving the excluded's problem. for current recipients over 60 years old generation, the its excluded's scale is no less than 86% of the old over 60 years. The probability of getting in the excluded is high in case of old elderly and female for current elderly generation. For future recipients 18-59 years working generation, the its excluded's scale is no less than 61% of the 18-59 years total population. The probability of getting in the excluded is high in case of 18-29 years and female for current working generation. As logistic regression analysis determinant factor of paying or not pension contribution for future recipients, it appear that probability of getting in the excluded for current working generation is high in case of younger old, lower education attainment, irregular employee, working at agriculture forestry fishery sector, construction sector, wholesale retail trade restaurants hotels sector, financial institution and insurance real estate renting and leasing sector in comparison with manufacturing sector, occpaying at elementary occupation, professionals technicians and associate professionals, sale and service workers, plant machine operators and assemblers, legislators senior officials and managers in comparison with clerks. The Policy measures for the current recipient old generation have need to reinforce supplemental role of Senior's pension(non-contribution pension) until maturing of public pension, because of no having chance of public pension participants for them. And the Policy measures for the future recipient working generation have need to restructure social security fundamentally corresponding with social-economic change as labour market and family structure etc. The pension system has need to change from one earner one pension to one citizen one pension with citizenship rights. At this point, public pension have need to manage with combining insurance's contribution principle and citizenship principle financing by taxes. Then public pension will become substantially universal social network for old-age income maintenance and we can find real solution for the excluded from.
There are lots of efforts to get more and more higher level of reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety in all the railway system development process. To do a RAMS activity and process very effectively, many an information is required based on operational knowledge and manufacturer's engineering technology together. But some interests between organization in demand sector and manufacturers in supply makes it difficult to do. This paper, for this reason, presents an idea about the activities and process for SR001 system, which is newly under developing and manufacturing by SMRT. Especially, we provide it with some idea how to integrate every activity and process and to analyze it specifically for system level as well. With these efforts, we provide a typical RAMS process of SR001 that could be applicable to other rolling stock system and the improvement of the system over total life cycle phases.
Post-kyoto regime has been discussing with the GHG reduction commitment. GHG energy target management system also has been applied for the domestic measures in the country. Universities are major emission sources for GHG. It is very important for campus to built the GHG inventory system and estimate the potential GHG emission reduction. In general, GHG inventory on the campus was taken by the IPCC guidance with the classification of scope 1, 2, and 3. Electricity was the highest portion of GHG emission on the campus as 5,053.90 $tonsCO_2eq/yr$ in 2009. Manufacturing sector was the second high emission and meant GHG in laboratory. Potential GHG reduction was planned by several assumptions such as installation of occupancy sensor, exchanging LED lamp and photovoltaic power generation. These reduction scenarios was simulated by LEAP model. In 2020, outlook of GHG emission was estimated by 17,435.98 tons of $CO_2$ without any plans of reduction. If the reduction scenarios was applied in 2020, GHG emission would be 16,507.60 tons of $CO_2$ as 5.3% potential reduction.
Service importance has been growing increasingly as competition element of enterprises according to going on rapid softness, information and knowledge of industrial infrastructure recently. Quality management system that implemented in manufacturing sector have been spreading rapidly to service company, but the company performing pure engineering service only in construction fields performed mainly the evaluation on the operational aspect such as degree of implementation of the established system because it is difficult to objective evaluation on the activity of the established quality management system or quality assurance system. This study would like to make on offer the improvement points based on the evaluation of service quality and the itself evaluation result through the questionnaire on the service offerers and customers using the pre-qualified SERVQUAL model in establishment of the improvement goal of the company. According to the result of this study, it is analyzed a gap and required to establish a counter-plan to correct many gaps discovered between the real offered level and the expect level of custom.
This paper explores the impact of pollution abatement cost on trade balance. First, We derive price pressure of spending pollution abatement cost using I-O table. Then the analysis is extended to the impact on trade balance by manufacturing sectors. The paper explicitly includes indirect effect of pollution abatement cost that is the effect through the change of the other sector prices and excluded in the previous studies. The results show that the impact of pollution abatement cost on trade balance is 0.30~0.46% of total trade volume of Korea. This is lower than that of the United States in 1970's.
This study examines each factor's effects on the firm's innovation method selection by comparing with EU countries and suggests policy implications for improving firm's innovation capabilities, confirming the changes with the latest data. We used similar data and model for this, and as a result, Korea is located between intermediate group and catching-up group in 2005. In 2014, we found partially positive changes; increase in R&D cost ratio along innovation expenditure, conducting in-house innovation, and R&D in high-tech sector. Therefore, it is required to support innovation expenditure and complement the system for high-tech firms, those that apply patent or conduct industry-university/government research institute linkage in order to improve innovation capabilities.
Despite the fact that there are about 435,000 unemployed youth out there in 2003, small and medium manufacturing companies experience a shortage of labor in South Korea. Korean government has released the statistical data on labor shortage as well as unemployment. However, there is an inconsistency in the labor shortage statistics of the small and medium business sector released by two different government bodies: the Labor Demand Survey by the Ministry of Labor (MOL), and the Manpower Survey for the Small and Medium Business by the Small and Medium Business Administration (SMBA). This paper analyzes causes of the differences the conceptualization and measurement of labor shortage and the data collecting methods. This paper also suggests alternative statistical indicators to overcome the confusion.
Occupational musculoskeletal disorders currently account for the largest proportion of the occupational illnesses in Korea. In this research, status of musculoskeletal disorders among the occupational illnesses was examined through workers' compensation claims data. Types and characteristics of musculoskeletal disorders were looked at other data set as well. The data sets included epidemiological investigation data reported by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute, and data collected from occupational disease surveillance reports and Korean occupational health-related scientific journals. Number of cases, incidence rate and insurance benefits for occupational musculoskeletal disorders in Korea are increasing every year. In addition, musculoskeletal disorders occurrence is shifted from large enterprises group to small-and-medium group, from manufacturing to service sector, and from production workers to office and professional workers. Although low back pain is still most common, its occurrence characteristics is gradually shifted from traumatic to cumulative while musculoskeletal disorders are somewhat seemingly moved from lumbar to upper limb body part. Musculoskeletal disorders were observed to be more diverse and prevalent in epidemiological investigations or surveillance data rather in workers' compensation claims data. Musculoskeletal disorders occurrence is related to demographic factors, occupational psychosocial factors, and ergonomic risk factors at workplace for which appropriate preventive measures needed to be made accordingly.
