The residence environment is the basis and the receptacle of daily lives and activitives. It influences on the formation of mans personality as an artificial environment. This study aims to analyze the residence environment level of the some local cities by using the Z-score method and to propose a higher residence environment. The elements of measurement in this study are determined by the general methodology. The results are as followings: 1. The residence environment level of Yeosu and Mokpo is high, that of Andong and Kyeongsan is low in this study. The ratio of road paving is the most related element in the correlation analysis. 2. The ratio of sewage supply is low compared with the scale of the dwelling area. So the sanitation environment should be improved. 3. In this correlation analysis on the residence pattern, the ratio of a single detached house is more positive than that of a multi-family house. So the single detached house pattern will be desirable in the residence environment.

Planning Environment Impact Assessment is regarded as one of the most important measures to achieve sustainable development in China. Conduct environment impact assessment for port planning was prescribed by Environment impact Assessment Law of the People's Republic of China. This Paper introduces the basic concept of Planning Environment Impact Assessment and Port Planning firstly, and then discusses the assessment indicators and assessment methods adopted in the Environment Impact Assessment for port planning. At last, the application of the indicators and methods are illustrated in case studies based on the practice on Port Planning's Environment Assessment in China.

This two-part paper presents a control method that allows for stable interaction of a robot manipulator with environment. In part 1, we focus on the input output relationships (unstructured modeling) of the robot and environment dynamics. This analysis leads to a general condition for stability of the robot and environment taken as a whole. This stability condition, for stable maneuver, prescribes a finite sensitivity for robot and environment where sensitivity of the robot (or the environment) is defined as a mapping forces into displacement. According to this stability condition, smaller sensitivity either in robot or in environment leads to narrower stability range. In the limit, when both systems have zero sensitivity, stability cannot be guaranteed. These models do not have any particular structure, yet they can model a wide variety of industrial and research robot manipulators and environment dynamic behavior. Although this approach of modeling may not lead to and design procedure, it will allow us to understand the fundamental issues in stability when a robot interacts with an environment.

In this paper, it was studied and analyzed how the project for improvement of rural housing environment has filled the resident's requirements relative to characteristics of a rural environment, temporal and social requirements and so on. The project for improvement of rural housing environment has been executed in a few way : the rural housing environment, the development of territories for settlement, the development of a desolate region, composition of villages. To analyze and assess the accomplishments, it was considered codes and process relative to the project for improvement of rural housing environment and was analyzed present conditions and problems, through many reference books and administrative datas. 126 of residents in Chongwon county were carried out for researchs with questionaires. This study includes basic life conditions, status for improvement of rural housing environment, degrees of resident's satisfactions and so on.

Environment-friendly agriculture has not only the simple purpose producing foods but also the key roles of conserving rural environments, landscapes and sustainable land uses. In addition, environment-friendly agricultural areas and their landscapes are important factors representing uniqueness of rural areas. For these reasons, this study investigates the landscapes formed through environment-friendly agriculture and evaluates the economic values of the landscapes using CRM(contingent ranking method) which has been known as one of the practical methods in the field of environmental economics. Based upon a scenario that government introduces the ratio of environment-friendly agriculture to evaluate economic values, a survey was performed with 1,088 of rural residents throughout the country. The results of this study indicate that the economic value for conservation and maintenance of environment-friendly agriculture landscapes is 480 won per household/month/1% environment-friendly agriculture, and this can be converted into 829 hundred million won per 1% environment-friendly agriculture nationally.

Recently, it is throwing the spotlight on environment-friendly architecture for preservation of the global environment throughout the world. At this point in time, home products to have Eco-label in architecture materials is increasing constantly and the demand of environment-friendly building and material is rising. The purpose of this study is to propose a way of development through analysis about necessity and concept of environment-friendly architecture and research into institution and standard for certification of environment-friendly building materials. So, it will make exactly progress to this study that is based on analysis and research of periodical publications, theses, reports of journal and data of the advanced country about environment-friendly architecture.

Speech recognition is one of the user interface technologies in commanding and controlling any terminal such as a TV, PC, cellular phone etc. in a ubiquitous environment. In controlling a terminal, the mismatch between training and testing causes rapid performance degradation. That is, the mismatch decreases not only the performance of the recognition system but also the reliability of that. Therefore, the performance degradation due to the mismatch caused by the change of the environment should be necessarily compensated. Whenever the environment changes, environment adaptation is performed using the user's speech and the background noise of the changed environment and the performance is increased by employing the models appropriately transformed to the changed environment. So far, the research on the environment compensation has been done actively. However, the compensation method for the effect of distant-talking speech has not been developed yet. Thus, in this paper we apply MLLR-based environment adaptation to compensate for the effect of distant-talking speech and the performance is improved.

Rural areas and rural environment is our valuable heritage. And it is necessary for us to conserve of the rural environment. But we have to pay due regard to development and urbanization. The harmony between conservation and development is a question which demands our serious consideration. Measuring economical values of rural environment is an essential prerequisite of harmony between conservation and development of rural environment. We examined valuation methods of environment for measuring economical values of rural environment. It is useful to understand economical values of rural environment and acquire well balanced viewpoint between conserve and development. It is also useful acquire persuasive power an legitimacy to conserve the rural environment.
