일 도시지역 노인의 건강상태에 관한 연구 (Health Status among Community Elderly in Korea)

  • Purpose: This study examined the health status among elderly in community. Method: This is a survey using cross-sectional design. The subjects were 531 elders who were 65 and over in Pusan, Korea. Data were collected by 17 trained interviewers from April 10 to August 26, 2000. Functional status for physical health status, depression, loneliness, self-esteem for psychological health status, and social support for social health status were measured. Result: About forty three percent of the subjects were found as the elderly who need support in physical status. About fifty six percent of the subjects were depressed. The mean score on the Loneliness scale was 40.4, which means relatively higher. For self-esteem, its score was lower than that of elderly who were examined in other studies. The subjects were living in the state of lower social support. The risk factors for vulnerable health status were being female, becoming older, lower income and education, and living alone. Conclusion: This finding indicates that the elderly subjects in Korean community were in poor health status in physical, psychological and social aspects.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate parental beliefs about child development in the context of Korean culture by analyzing and interpreting normative expectations of the age in disciplining children as presented in books for domestic life education of the $Chos{\breve{o}}n$ Dynasty period. The method used for this study was the historical method. The literature used for analysis was the Naihun, Gyubeomseonyoung, Sasojol, Jongbo-Salimgyoungjai, and Hahagjinam. According to the analysis, the discipline of children began from the age of three. The selection of the age of three was based on the observation that 3-year-olds begin to have an understanding of events in their world. From 3 to 10, socialization of the $Chos{\breve{o}}n$ Dynasty period gave prominance to social competency in interrelationships, especially honor of elders, modesty and sex role typing.

김치 제품 선택 속성이 고객 만족과 재구매 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Kimchi Product Selection Attribute on Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intent)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference of Korean traditional food and kimchi among different age groups in order to find a way to increase kimchi consumption. For this study, data from 15 male respondents(5.2%) and 271 female respondents(94.8%) was used. Age distribution of total respondents were in their 20's(21.8%), 30's(32.7%), 40's(32.7%) and 50's(11.6%), which showed the rate of 40's was very high. Most of the groups showed similar rates over the question on "have to eat kimchi" and "don't need to eat kimchi", but the elders' preference was high while the youngers' was relatively low. Therefore, the preference of kimchi has a small gap between the age groups, but all of them like kimchi in general.

일 지역 노인의 노화불안에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Aging Anxiety of the Elderly)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to 1) degree of the aging anxiety 2) to identify predictors influencing aging anxiety of the elderly. Method: Data were collected from 179 elders & utilizing questionnaires developed by Watkins, Coates, and Ferroni(1998). Data were analyzed using SPSS/Win 10.0 program and descriptive statistics t-test ANOVA were adopted as necessary. Result: Degree of the aging anxiety were 33-60scores, mean 49.96 scores. There were significant differeence in aging anxiety scores according to relegion, and disease. conclusion : The result of this study show the aging anxiety in a improtant factor in explaining psychological health, and development of adequate intervention for the elderly population to decrease the aging anxiety.

일부 지역사회 여성노인의 주관적 건강에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Self-Rated Health in Elderly Women in the Community)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify factors that influence self-rated health in elderly women. Method: The research design for this study was a descriptive survey design using a convenience sampling method. Data collection was done using a self-questionnaire with 201 women participating in the study. Frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS 10.0 program were used to analyze the data. Results: The age of the women ranged from 65 to 89 and mean was 72.9. The main factors that affected self-rated health were depression, sleep, family APGAR, economic level, social activities and number of illnesses. These variables accounted for 44% of self-rated health. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide useful information for constructing intervention programs for elderly women.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to research how elder abuse affected the abuse results (self-esteem, depression, somatization) through coping strategies. Method: A convenient sample consisted of 499 subjects from 65 to 85 years old. Data was collected using structured questionnaires from July to August, 2002. The SPSS WIN 10.0 version was used for data analysis. Results: The pathway of elder abuse affecting elder's self-esteem was researched by passive coping, emotional abuse, financial abuse, and physical abuse as the variables that directly affected self-esteem. The pathway of elder abuse affecting elder's depression was researched by passive coping, aggressive coping, verbal abuse, and neglect as the variable that directly affected depression. The pathway of elder abuse affecting somatization was researched by neglect, emotional abuse, and aggressive coping as the variables that directly affected somatization. Conclusion: We should develop a systematized intervention program so that elders can learn positive coping in their abuse circumstance.

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to examine the relations among anxiety, knowledge, health locus of control and preventive behavior, and to find factors related with preventive behavior. Methods: The subjects were 269 elderly people of over 65 living in C City. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS. Results: Health promoting behavior was significantly different according to chronic disease, contact with H1N1 patient and perceived health status. The variables that affected the level of preventive behavior were anxiety, knowledge, internal locus of control, external locus of control, chance locus of control and perceived health status. Conclusion: According to this study, promoting preventive behavior for H1N1 on the elderly builds up anxiety, knowledge, and health locus of control.

노인의 신체기능, 인지기능 및 우울정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Physical function, Cognitive Performance and the Depression of the Elderly Persons)

  • The physical function. congnitive performance and the depression of the elderly persons of over 60 years in Pusan Kyungnam Province are studied. For the survey, prepared is a questionnaire which includes 14 items for the physical function, 8 items for the cognitive performance and 12 items for the depression. totaling 34 items. The interactions of the items of each category are analyzed in terms of daily life performances. The results show that. the elders have the problems in cognitive performance rather than the physical function or depression, and there are great variances depending on the individual's background.

충북 지역 노인 소비자의 소비자 정보화 교육 방안 : 지역사회 주민을 위한 충북의 정보화 교육과의 연계 (A Proposal on the Elderly Consumer's Consumer Informationization Education in Chung-buk Province : Connection with the Informationization Education for the Community by Chung-buk Province)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the elderly consumer's consumer informationization education connected with the informationization education for the community by Chung-buk province. Three hundred seventy nine elders were surveyed, with questionnaires from August 12 to September 30, 2002, and a hypothetical model of the consumer informationization education on the basis of the informationization education for the suggestion of the elderly consumer's consumer informationization education was tested. The results were as follows: the perception and the attitude on the informationization education of the elderly were, with a statistical significance, positively related to the perception and the attitude on the consumer informationization education of the elderly. The consumer informationization education (basis, application, attendance, and mission) on the basis of the informationization education (basis and application) in steps was supported as a suggestion for the elderly consumer's consumer informationization education.

노인의 건강상태 (Health Status of Elderly Living in a City)

  • Purpose: This study examined the health status of elderly. Method: This is a survey using cross-sectional design. The subject were 122 elders who were 65 and over in Daejeon. Instrumental activity of daily living, nutrition and Body mass index for physical health status, social engagement for social health status, and depression and loneliness for emotional health status were measured. Results: Independent level was medium, and nutrition and BMI were normal level. Social engagement score was 2.38 which means low. Mean depression level was 7.71 and mean loneliness level was 56.77, which means high. The risk factors for vulnerable health status were no spouse, lower pocket money, living at institution, poor subjective health status. Conclusion: This finding indicates that the elderly subjects were in normal physical health status, but social and emotional health status were poor.
