융(Jung)의 아니무스(Animus) 원형에 따른 여성 메이크업.헤어스타일 연구 - 화장품 광고를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Women's Make-up and Hair Style according to the Animus Archetype of Jungian Theory -Focusing on Cosmetic Advertisements-)

  • The traditional feminity has gradually been diversified in the 21th century due to a change in the society. This diversification of women's images and styles is derived from the addition of masculinity to feminity. C. G. Jung insist that human being is bisexual in nature. Animus is the male aspect in the women's collective unconscious and it is the archetype through which we generally communicate with the collective unconscious. It is also important to get into touch with the collective unconscious for self-realization. This study analyzes subconscious desires based on the Animus archetype in the collective unconscious of women through the diversity of the gender identity shown in cosmetic advertisements. Therefore this study aims to suggest a marketing strategy for the women's beauty industry in the future. For this purpose, this study conducts an empirical analysis of women's make-up and hair style in cosmetic advertisements through the Jungian Animus theory. The conclusion of this study is as follows: First, gender identity represented in cosmetic advertisements was classified into Mother/Wife, Hetaira, Mediale and Amazon. Second, the Animus archetype stimulates masculinity in women's make-up and hair style. Third, range of utilization of cosmetic products is articulated with the diverse gender identity. This masculinization of women's beauty style is the external expression of collective unconscious and affords human being to reach self-realization.

니파야자(Nypa fruticans Wurmb) 싹 추출물 및 분획물의 항산화, 세포 보호 및 항균 효과에 관한 평가 (Evaluation of Antioxidant, Cytoprotective and Antimicrobial Activities of the Extract and Fractions Obtained from Young Shoots of Nypa Fruticans Wurmb)

  • Nypa fruticans Wurmb is a species of palm, which is widely distributed in the mangrove forest of Southeast Asia. Various parts of N. fruticans has been used as a traditional medicinal plant. However, the physiological activities of N. fruticans has not yet been clarified well. Therefore, in this study, the 50% ethanol extract and its aqueous and ethyl acetate fractions of young shoots of N. fruticans were investigated for their antioxidant, cytoprotective effect, and antimicrobial activities. Every sample possessed very high free radical and various ROS scavenging capacities assessed by employing different in vitro assays such as $DPPH^{\cdot}$, $O_2^{{\cdot}-}$, ${\cdot}OH$, and $^1O_2$ scavenging activities. Based on these results, the cytoprotective effect was investigated using the oxidative hemolysis of erythrocyte. We found that the extract and fractions provide a greater protective effect compared with (+)-${\alpha}$-tocopherol. Furthermore, antimicrobial activities were confirmed against skin pathogens by broth microdilution assay. The ethyl acetate fraction had much higher antimicrobial activities than methyl paraben against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida albicans. Taken together, our results indicated that the young shoots of N. fruticans may have the potential role as a natural active ingredient through their antioxidant, cytoprotective effect, and antimicrobial activities.

화장품 소재로서의 꽃 10 종 에탄올추출물 생리활성 특성연구 (Biological Activities of Cosmetic Material from Ten Kinds of Flower Ethanol Extracts)

  • Background: We investigated the antioxidant, anti-wrinkles, whitening, and moisturizing properties and amounts of phenolic compounds of ethanol extracts from flowers of 10 resource plants from Namwon and Mt. Jiri., Korea. Methods and Results: We measured antioxidant efficacy based on the total polyphenol, and total flavonoid content, and the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. We evaluated the inhibitory effect on melanin synthesis and tyrosinase activity for the whitening effect. Furthermore, we analyzed the elastase and matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) inhibition activity for anti-wrinkle capacity. To evaluate the moisturizing effect, we examined hyaluronan synthase (HAS) mRNA expression. In addition, the 19 phenolic compounds were detected using high performace liquid chromatography (HPLC). Among the 10 flowers, the antioxidant effect was high in the order of Rosa multiflora, Nelumbo nucifera, and Elsholtzia splendens. Whitening effect was high in the order of N. nucifera, R. multiflora, and Dendranthema zawadskii. As for the anti-wrinkle property, N. nucifera was the most effective followed by R. multiflora. Taraxacum coreanum was the best for moisturizing effect, followed by D. zawadskii, and E. splendens. Seven phenolic compounds were detected in the extracts of the 10 flowers. Conclusions: Overall, the extracts of five flowers extracts showed strong potential as antioxidant, whitening, anti-wrinkle, and moisturizing functional cosmetic agents.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze correlation of perceived cosmetics brand apps attributes and use intentions, mediating role of customer satisfaction, and relationship between customer satisfaction and continuous usage intention. Then provide basic data for development management strategy of beauty industry and enhancement of competitiveness corresponding to smart era. Methods: The questionnaires were surveyed by an online company(EMBRAIN). After data collection, frequency analysis was performed on the general attributes of questionnaire survey using SPSS 22.0, and data conclusions were derived by verifying reliability and validity of data and hypotheses. Results: First, perceived cosmetic brand app attributes have a positive effect on customer satisfaction, Second, perceived cosmetic brand app attributes have a positive effect on continuous usage intention. Third, customer satisfaction was found to have a mediating role in the effect of perceived cosmetic brand app attributes on continuous usage intention. Fourth, involvement proved to control the relationship between perceived cosmetic brand app attributes perceived interactivity and customer satisfaction. Finally, Involvement has proven to control the relationship between cosmetic brand app attributes perceived interactivity and continuous usage intention. Conclusion: Consumers buying products from cosmetics brand apps will be more likely to use cosmetics brand apps if they feel comfortable with calculation process, search, booking confirmation and payment methods.

구기자 추출물의 항노화 활성 평가 (Evaluation of Antiaging Activity on Lycium chinense Miller. Extracts)

  • 본 연구는 구기자의 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 검토하였다. 에탄올을 용매로 하여 얻어진 추출물 중 총 폴리페놀 함량은 17.3 mg/mL이었으며, 추출물의 세포 독성을 확인하기 위해 MTT assay결과 1000 ㎍/mL 이하의 농도에서 세포 생장에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 항산화 효능 실험으로 DPPH radical 소거 시험을 실시한 결과 1000 ㎍/mL의 농도에서 84.97%의 소거능을 나타내었고, SOD 유사 활성 실험 결과 1000 ㎍/mL에서 80.54%의 결과로 우수한 항산화 효능을 보였다. Elastase 저해 활성을 측정한 결과 1000 ㎍/mL에서 50.93%의 저해율을 나타내어 구기자 추출물이 elastase 저해에 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구로부터 구기자 70% ethanol 추출물은 항산화와 주름 개선 효능을 확인함으로써 기능성 화장품 소재로의 활용 가능성을 확인하였다.

시호 추출물의 화장품 생리활성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Physiological Activity of Cosmetics in Bupleurum falcatum L. Extract)

  • 시호는 약용작물의 하나로 해열, 진정, 간 장애 억제, 항염, 항암 등 우수한 약리 활성을 지니고 있다. 현재 식품 또는 약용으로 사용되고 있지만 화장품으로서의 사용은 미비하여 화장품 소재로서의 적합성 및 이용 가치를 검토하였다. 시호 추출물을 이용하여 폴리페놀, 플라보노이드, 항산화, 항염 실험을 진행하였다. 폴리페놀 함량은 14.71±0.16 mg·TAE/g, 플라보노이드 함량은 1.42±0.05 mg·QE/g를 나타내었다. 항산화 활성은 농도 의존적으로 우수한 활성을 보였으며, NO 발현 억제능은 1,000 ㎍/mL에서 61.21%의 저해율을 나타내어 항염 활성이 뛰어남을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 시호 추출물의 항산화, 항염 효능이 뛰어나기에 화장품의 천연 소재로서 충분한 가치가 있다고 본다.

택란 추출물 및 분획물의 항산화, 항균 및 세포 보호 효과 (Antioxidant, Antimicrobial and Cellular Protective Effects of Lycopus lucidus Extract and Fraction)

  • 본 연구에서는 택란(Lycopus lucidus)의 에탄올 추출물 및 에틸아세테이트 분획물에 대하여 항산화, 항균 및 세포 보호효과를 비교 분석하였다. 택란 추출물 및 분획물의 자유 라디칼 소거 활성을 측정한 결과($FSC_{50}$), 추출물은 $65.1{\mu}g/mL$, 분획물은 $64.9{\mu}g/mL$로 나타냈다. $Fe^{3+}-EDTA/H_2O_2$계에서 활성산소 소거 활성은($OSC_{50}$) 각각, 6.6, $6.3{\mu}g/mL$로 모두 총 항산화능이 뛰어났다. 항균 활성에서, 추출물은 S. aureus에서, 분획물은 A. niger를 제외한 모든 균에서 활성을 나타냈다. 택란 추출물 및 분획물의 세포 보호 효과 비교 결과, $^1O_2$로 유도된 적혈구 세포손상에 대한 보호 효과(${\tau}_{50}$)는 $50{\mu}g/mL$에서 각각 51.3, 73.7 min로 나타냈다. 과산화수소와 UVB로 손상된 각질형성세포에 대한 세포 보호 효과에서 추출물은 각각 효능을 나타내지 않고, $1-2{\mu}g/mL$에서 효능을 나타냈다. 분획물은 각각 세포 생존율을 최대 85.8, 81.9%까지 증가시켰다. 세포 내 ROS 소거 활성 결과, 분획물 $1-2{\mu}g/mL$에서 소거 활성을 나타내었다. 종합적으로 택란 에탄올 추출물 및 에틸아세테이트 분획물의 생리활성을 비교한 결과, 택란 에틸아세테이트 분획물은 추출물과 비슷한 항산화 효능을 가지며, 항균 및 세포 보호 효과에서 추출물보다 뛰어난 효과를 나타냄으로써 외부 스트레스로부터 세포를 보호할 수 있는 화장품 소재로 응용가능성이 있음을 시사한다.

한국산 지유(地楡)(Sanguisorbae officinalis L.)의 항산화 효과 및 천연소재로서의 활용방안 (Antioxidant Effects and Application as Natural Ingredients of Korean Sanguisorbae officinalis L.)

  • 본 연구는 탄닌 성분을 다량 함유한 지유를 각종 효소학적 생리활성을 검토함으로서 식품 및 화장품산업에 응용 시 제품의 안정성과 기능성을 나타낼 수 있는 천연소재로서의 역할을 검토하였다. 효소학적 생리활성 실험에서의 전자공여능은 10 ppm에서는 54.9%, 50 ppm이상의 시료농도에서는 90% 이상의 높은 전자 공여능을 나타내었고, SOD-유사활성능은 1000 ppm에서 65.4%의 높은 활성이 나타내었으며, 농도가 증가함에 따라 유의적인 차이를 나타내었다. Xanthine oxidase의 저해활성을 관찰한 결과 200 ppm의 농도에서 17.9%로 나타내었으며, 500 ppm에서는 36.9%로 비교적 낮은 저해효과를 나타내었으나, 지방 산패도 측정 결과 시료농도 모두 지방 산패를 저해하는 능력이 뛰어 났으며, 지방 산화 촉진인자인 $Fe^{2+},\;Cu^{2+}$ 이온에 대한 금속이온 포집능력을 관찰한 결과 $Fe^{2+}$보다 $Cu^{2+}$ 이온의 포집 능력이 뛰어 났으며,시료농도 모두 50 ppm에서 40% 이상의 포집능력을 나타내었다. 이와 같이 지유 추출물은 기능성이 우수한 것으로 나타나 식품 및 화장품 제조시 유용하게 사용할 수 있어 천연소재로서의 개발가능성을 보여주었다.

서울시내(市內) 여중고생(女中高生)의 화장품(化粧品) 소비실태(消費實態) 조사연구(調査硏究) (A Study on the Consuming Condition of Cosmetics of Female Students in Middle and High Schools)

  • The purpose of this study is to offer basic data to adolescents' cosmetic culture by investigating and analysing the choices made by female students who have been becoming principle consumers of cosmetics these days. Firstly, social and cultural backgrounds and concepts of N generation, and then characteristics and influencing powers of female students were reviewed. And this study also included questionnaire surveys of 500 female students in middle and high schools located in Seoul. Data were processed using a SPSS$^+$ program and analyzed by using frequency, percentage and the $X^2$-test. The major findings run as follows: Female students have the effects of spreading their words quickly and abilities of making a decision what to buy. And they accept consuming behaviors itself as a part of cultural lives. Therefore, industries have acknowledged them as new principal consumers with a powerful influence in the market. They also play an important role in active consumer as emotional generation who has distinct personalities and prefer fashion trends, changes and innovations. They show conformities with their peer groups and they also want to identify themselves with characters or stars. The cosmetic behaviors of female students relating to demographic characteristics showed a significant relation to grades, majors, school groups and places of residence. Female students have a lot of interest and knowledge about cosmetics. And they use various cosmetic products. This study demonstrated the age for using make-up for the first time has been becoming younger more and more. Recently, female adolescents tend to use face powder, lip gloss, mascara and eye shadow. It is assumed that cosmetic purchases of female students can be considered as an impulsive aspects. However, before purchases, the proportion of students having any particular cosmetic brand in mind previously has been increasing. They take into consideration skin safety, the quality of product and color, when purchasing cosmetic products.

지유(地楡)(Sanguisorbae officinalis L.)의 항암 및 항균효과 (Cytotoxic and Antibacterial Activities of Sanguisorbae officinalis L.)

  • 본 연구에서는 탄닌성분을 다량 함유하고 있는 장미과 식물 지유의 생리활성기능을 살펴 식품 및 화장품산업의 천연소재로서의 활용가능성을 검토하였다. 각종 암세포에 대한 세포증식 억제율은 시료 농도가 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 증가하였고, Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, E. coli와 같은 세균에 대한 clear zone 형성을 관찰한 결과 추출물 0.5 mg/disc, 1 mg/disc의 농도에서 모든균에서 clear zone형성을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 생균수측정의 결과 500 ppm및 1,000 ppm에서 균수가 서서히 증가한 후 감소하였다.
