  • This thesis is based on an in-depth interview on participation experience of ten immigrants who reside in S Multi-cultural Family Support Center that is located in Gyeonggi-do in Korea Immigration & Integration Program(KIIP). The purpose of this research is to present through it's basic data for improvement in the operation of KIIP in the future by grasping participation process in KIIP that the immigrants have experienced, problems involved in their operation, and related requirements. Major results of the research are as follows: First, the motive for the immigrants' participation in KIIP was to acquire Korean nationality, learn Korean, and prepare for their future in Korea. Second, as a difficulty in participation in KIIP, access to educational institutions loomed large. Third, regarding improvements in the operation of KIIP, marriage immigrants needed to continue Korean language education, whereas other immigrants revealed a demand for opening evening classes or weekend classes. In the final analysis, it seems that for KIIP to provide an opportunity for the immigrants to have a vision for their life in the future, as well as for its realization in Korean society, policy-oriented institutional support that pays attention to their life situation and demands is badly needed.

  • This study was conducted to develop a model that explains the factors influencing the clinical nurses' willingness to perform Basic Life Support and to verify the appropriateness of the model. The participants were 550 clinical nurses working at a university hospital in Korea. The data were collected from self-reported questionnaires from October 2012 to February 2013. A total of 520 questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 and Amos version 18.0 software packages. The results indicated that the clinical nurses' knowledge of basic life support had a direct impact and their clinical experience had an indirect impact on their willingness to perform basic life support at the scene. These variables together explained 19.5% of the variance in the nurses' willingness to perform Basic Life Support. The clinical experience was correlated significantly with knowledge (r=.61, p<.001). To increase the clinical nurses' performance of Basic Life Support, knowledge and clinical experience should be reinforced by continuous in-service education on Basic Life Support, considering the disease status of hospitalized patients.

The results are as follows 1. Out of the total 25 fundamental items about food the average ability in the case of "I can" is only 11 items, "I have experience" 7 items, and "I have no experience" 7 items. 2. Out of the total 20 fundamental items about costume the average ability, in the case of "I can" is 4 items, and "I have experience" 8 items, and "I have no experience" 8 items. 3. Out of the total 20 fundamental items about home management, the average ability, in the case of "I can" is 5-items. "I have experienc" 8-items, and "I have no experience" 6-items. The following conclusions have been reached on the basis of the above survey : a) On the whole students are poorest at practical house-keeping. b) It is to be pointed our that female students have little experience to participate in practical house keeping every daily life c) Female students are apt to have the self-confidence that they can carry on the house-keeping well. d) One may emphasize the point which tends to be neglected in home-education : each house wife should have the ability of practical house-keeping, mutual under-standing among family members, a sense of responsibility, coorperation and services as a good member of family.

Results: The analysis of the contents revealed the following four components with regard to the meaning of mind control for elderly persons (1) Settling the mind (2) Gradual lowering of expectations and hope for the success of offspring, (3) Having good thoughts and acting accordingly, and (4) Making up one's mind to follow the 'natural flow of life'. Conclusion: By allowing a wider and deeper understanding of the meaning of mind control for elderly persons the results of this study provide a basis for improving the care of elderly with a holistic perspective.

  • This paper tries to find out the prevalence of the school violence among the elementary school children and explores variables to explain the violence based on the various victimization theories including the life style theory. One out of ten respondents reported that they had at least one experience of victimization. Bullying was found out to be the most frequent type of the school violence. The school violence experience are shown to have no statistical significant relationship with the life style of respondents, the family background, and the academic achievements, but to have relatively high correlation to delinquency propensity. This may indicate that both offender and victim of the school violence could be recruited from the same group.

  • This study is a qualitative investigation that used Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological method to evaluate the meaning and nature of the experience of dialysis of eight long-term (>30 years) hemodialysis patients with chronic renal failure. Data were collected from February 27, 2017 to May 30, 2017 by in-depth interviews. Respondents were then divided into three categories, 'entirely different life', 'getting back up again' and 'focusing on survival' with nine theme clusters and 22 themes. In general, patients initially experienced an entirely different life and overcame a difficult situation when beginning dialysis, then came to know methods for self-care, shared the experience of dialysis, and focused on survival while receiving dialysis over the long-term. Development of variety of education methods depending on long-term experience of dialysis and nursing care intervention to enable chronic patients to adapt to dialysis and continue their own self-management is necessary.
