지식집중화 정도가 지식소싱 전략과 기업성과 간의 관계에 미치는 효과 분석 (Analyzing the Effects of Knowledge Intensity on the Relationships between Knowledge Sourcing Strategies and Firm Performance)

  • Although the interaction effects of knowledge sourcing strategies vary depending on environmental conditions such as knowledge intensity, most prior empirical research have failed to prove the effects of environmental conditions on the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. In order to fill this gap, this study examines how knowledge intensity affects the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. The results of this study indicate the interaction effects of knowledge sourcing strategies in high knowledge intensity environment are different from the effects in low knowledge intensity environment. This study expands knowledge management research by identifying the effects of knowledge intensity on the relationship between knowledge sourcing strategies and firm performance. Furthermore, it offers valuable practical guidelines for managers in selecting successful combinations of knowledge sourcing strategies with the consideration of knowledge intensity.

  • 본 연구는 국내 중소제조업에서 수출비중과 지식탐색활동 특성간의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 본 연구는 2011년 "중소기업기술통계조사"에 참여한 중소제조업체 2,145개를 대상으로 각 기업의 수출 비중이 조직 내부와 외부 지식탐색활동에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 국내 중소기업의 지식탐색활동은 주요 고객과 시장의 지리적 구성에 따라서 차이가 있었다. 즉, 내수 지향적이거나 수출 지향적 중소기업은 조직 내부 및 외부에 위치한 새로운 지식과 정보를 탐색하고 활용하는데 적극적이었지만, 수출과 내수 시장을 모두 추구하는 기업은 조직 내부 및 외부지식탐색의 수준이 상대적으로 낮았다. 연구의 이론적 시사점은 중소기업이 수출과 지식탐색 및 역량 간의 관계에 대해 새로운 지식을 확장하는 데 이바지한 것이다. 또한, 외부 지식탐색활동 자체도 조직 내부의 특성에 따라 달라질 수 있음을 실증한 것에서도 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 실무적 관점에서는 내수기업에서 수출확대 및 글로벌 중소기업으로 발전에 대해 각 과정의 기업들이 서로 다른 지식탐색활동을 보이고 있다는 점에서 관련 정책 및 지원프로그램의 설계와 운영에도 참조할 수 있다는 것이다.

The External Knowledge Utilization and Radical Innovation in Korea Electronic Industry

  • Purpose - This study investigates the moderation effect of internal factor, a firms size, on the external knowledge sourcing strategy and its effectiveness in generating radical innovation. We incorporate concepts of breadth and depth as two measures to gauge the degree of openness in firms external search Research design and methodology - The dependent variable in the regression model is the percentage of innovative sales and therefore, Tobit regression is employed for estimating significant factors affecting on the ratio of first-to-market by breadth and depth in external knowledge, internationalization, and size. Results - The results show that the external knowledge, in terms of both breadth and depth, has a positive relationship with radical innovation. However internationalization as external knowledge resources is not statistically accepted. Firm size has moderating effect on innovation negatively only in case of using external knowledge resources to a high degree. Conclusions - Firms obtain external information mostly from customers, competitors, and suppliers etc. empirical knowledge in terms of scope and intensity is an important contributor to innovation. And intensity use of external knowledge and information resources can work in favor of smaller firms rather than larger ones. Internationalization seems to have little effect on innovation but it requires further researches with clear criteria and more data.

  • The knowledge on the number of necessary and collectable reflections for the crystal structure analysis is greatly helpful in choosing the conditions for X-ray intensity data collection using automatic four circle diffractometer. In this paper, we represent a method to calculate the total unmber of collectable intensity date in an asymmetric unit.

COB LED High Bay 대칭형 광학계의 배광각에 관한 연구 (Investigation of the Angular Distribution of Luminous Intensity in the Symmetric Optical System of a COB LED High Bay)

  • We have studied a chip-on-board LED lighting optical system for various luminous-intensity-distribution angles of the LED. An optical system that can accept different LEDs was made to reduce the systems's weight and size as we selected the chip-on-board LED, which is easy to apply to optical systems, unlike existing package-on-board LEDs. The luminous-intensity-distribution angles were $45^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, and $120^{\circ}$. We researched these four types of optical systems. The $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ units were developed into reflectors, and the $90^{\circ}$ and $120^{\circ}$ units, into lenses. We checked the performance of the designed optical system through simulation and made a mock-up. Then we made a prototype of the chip-on-board LED high bay for use with the mock-up. After measuring its performance, we tested the luminous-intensity-distribution angles and compared them with simulation data. The resulting prototype was developed considering brightness, light uniformity, age, and economics which are suitable for a factory environment.

Development of the Fuzzy-Based System for Stress Intensity Factor Analysis

  • This paper describes a fuzzy-based system for analyzing the stress intensity factors (SIFs) of three-dimensional (3D) cracks. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model by using the fuzzy knowledge processing. Nodes are generated by the bucketing method, and ten-coded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. The singular elements such that the mid-point nodes near crack front are shifted at the quarter-points, and these are automatically placed along the 3D crack front. The complete finite element(FE) model is generated, and a stress analysis is performed. The SIFs are calculated using the displacement extrapolation method. To demonstrate practical performances of the present system, semi-elliptical surface cracks in a inhomogeneous plate subjected to uniform tension are solved.

SEGMENTATION WITH SHAPE PRIOR USING GLOBAL AND LOCAL IMAGE FITTING ENERGY

  • In this work, we discuss segmentation algorithms based on the level set method that incorporates shape prior knowledge. Fundamental segmentation models fail to segment desirable objects from a background when the objects are occluded by others or missing parts of their whole. To overcome these difficulties, we incorporate shape prior knowledge into a new segmentation energy that, uses global and local image information to construct the energy functional. This method improves upon other methods found in the literature and segments images with intensity inhomogeneity, even when images have missing or misleading information due to occlusions, noise, or low-contrast. We consider the case when the shape prior is placed exactly at the locations of the desired objects and the case when the shape prior is placed at arbitrary locations. We test our methods on various images and compare them to other existing methods. Experimental results show that our methods are not only accurate and computationally efficient, but faster than existing methods as well.

과학기술지식 생산과 공유를 위한 협력 유형분류체계 (A typology of Collaboration Modes for Scientific and Technological Knowledge Production and Sharing)

  • This paper suggests a typology of the modes of collaboration for scientific and technological knowledge production and sharing (STKPS) based on knowledge communication types, including organizational factors, communication channel, intensity, and decision-making, that affect STKPS processes. It is mainly designed to rearrange ideas about collaboration drawn from the literature in order to develop a conceptual framework for categorizing modes of collaboration based on how communication patterns shape four modes of collaboration. In the conclusion and discussion part, practical implications, limitations of this study, and further studies are discussed. In particular, the practical implications propose communication patterns suitable for five stages of collaboration processes. As the collaboration initiation or set-up stage is critical, extensive face-to-face communication is recommended in the auditing stage. In the execution stage, media-based communication can be actively utilized, because collaborators will mostly exchange explicit codified knowledge supported by IT. The evaluation and reinforcement stages concentrate on tacit knowledge exchange and explicit knowledge evaluation, which requires intensive face-to-face communication including negotiations for evaluating collaboration outcomes and partnership.

  • The purpose of this paper is understanding the dynamics of knowledge based industries in Korea and suggesting policy recommendations for supporting those industries. Following KIETs (1999) definition of knowledge intensity, this paper classified industries in Kyung Ki Province according to several knowledge indicators including R&D activity and human capital content. Having classified industries, this paper investigates growth dynamics of knowledge based industries in Kyung-Ki Province. Based on surveys on some 280 knowledge based industries in Kyung-Ki province, growth path of those industries were identified using path analysis. Using the growth path and coefficient identified by the analysis, system dynamics model was build to simulate dynamics of knowledge based industries in Kyung-Ki province. With the model, further analysis was made to investigate some policy measures that can promote knowledge based industries.

상황과 정보 집적도를 고려한 유사도 기반의 맞춤형 지식 생성프레임워크 (Customized Knowledge Creation Framework using Context- and intensity-based Similarity)

  • 정보의 출처와 형식이 다양해지고 정보의 양 또한 많아짐에 따라 소셜 웹에서의 맞춤형 지식 생성은 더욱 어려워지고 있다. RSS(Really Simple Syndication)가 정보 수집 방법의 개선에 일조했으나, 웹에 산재된 정보를 찾아 필요한 정보들만으로 구성된 맞춤형 지식을 생성하는 것은 여전히 사용자들의 몫으로 남아 있다. 본 논문에서는 맞춤형 지식 생성의 용이성을 제고하기 위해 상황 기반 유사도를 이용한 맞춤형 지식생성 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 본 프레임워크는 기본적으로 사례 기반추론의 절차를 따르지만, 기존 사례 기반의 유사도 계산 방식이 문법적 추론에 기반했던 것과 달리, 온톨로지를 활용한 의미적 유사도를 이용한 사례 기반 추론을 활용한다. 또한 사용자 요구를 만족하는 유사사례의 보정을 위해 온톨로지를 활용한 정보 집적도 기반의 유사도 방법론을 제안하였다. 본 프레임워크에서는 첫째 비구조적인 웹 정보를 사례 형태의 구조적 정보로 변환하고, 둘째 사용자의 요구에 적합한 의미론적 유사사례를 찾은 후 셋째, 선택된 유사사례의 정보 집적도를 고려한 보정을 통해 맞춤형 지식을 생성하는 과정을 거친다. 본 논문에서는 유사도 계산에 일반적으로 활용되는 여러 방법론들과 비교를 통하여 제안한 온톨로지 기반 의미적 유사도 계산 방법론의 타당성을 입증하였다.
