Biotechnology 연구실을 위한 지식 경영시스템의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Knowledge Management System for Biotechnology Laboratory)

  • 2000년 7월 인간게놈프로젝트 (Human Genome Project)가 완성되면서 Biotechnology(BT)산업에 대하여 많은 관심이 집중되고 있다. BT산업은 기술집약적·지식집약적인 산업 특성을 가지고 있고 R&D 활동의 중요성이 두드러진다. 이에 따라 방대한 데이터와 지식에 대한 효율적인 관리 등 R&D 전 과정에 걸쳐 생성되는 지식들에 대한 체계적인 관리가 요구된다 본 연구에서는 BT산업의 기초 조직인 BT연구실의 효과적이며 효율적인 업무 수행을 지원하기 위하여 기존의 지식경영시스템(Knowledge Management System, KMS)에 실험실정보관리시스템(Laboratory Information Management System, LIMS)이 통합된 BT실험실의 지식경영시스템 모델을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 BT연구실에서 생성되는 지식들의 체계를 분류하고 지식경영시스템 구축에 있어서의 핵심성공요인을 분석하였으며, 분석 결과를 바탕으로 모델을 개발하여 대학교 유전자 연구실에 실제 적용하였다.

An Evaluation of Applying Knowledge Base to Academic Information Service

  • Through a series of precise text handling processes, including automatic extraction of information from documents with knowledge from various fields, recognition of entity names, detection of core topics, analysis of the relations between the extracted information and topics, and automatic inference of new knowledge, the most efficient knowledge base of the relevant field is created, and plans to apply these to the information knowledge management and service are the core requirements necessary for intellectualization of information. In this paper, the knowledge base, which is a necessary core resource and comprehensive technology for intellectualization of science and technology information, is described and the usability of academic information services using it is evaluated. The knowledge base proposed in this article is an amalgamation of information expression and knowledge storage, composed of identifying code systems from terms to documents, by integrating terminologies, word intelligent networks, topic networks, classification systems, and authority data.

SECI기반 지식관리실증연구 (A Case Study of Knowledge Management based on SECI)

  • 기업의 경쟁력을 높이기 위해서는 지식과 지식의 창조, 공유, 활용 등을 포함하는 원천으로써 지식을 자산화 할 수 있는 지식관리가 중요하다. 이 연구는 개념적 연구결과와 지식관리유형에 따라 지식창조프로세스 관계에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 특히 효율적인 지식관리의 길라잡이를 제시하였다는 데 그 의의가 있다. 또한 은행에 지식관리유형이 시스템중심접근방법과 사람중심 접근방법이 있으며 이를 4가지 지식변환의 모드에서 지식창조의 다양한 형태를 제공하였다. 이를 위해 이 연구는 일반적으로 기업현장에서 인용되고 발생되는 지식관리유형을 실증적으로 도출하였으며, 금융산업 중에서 은행과의 관계를 규명하기 위해, 실 사례를 통해 지식관리유형과 지식창조프로세스간의 관계를 조사하고 분석하였다 이 연구결과를 기반으로 지식창조프로세스 모형을 제시하였다.

The Determinants of Management Information Systems Effectiveness in Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises

  • This study develops a mediating model to explore the relationships between organizational characteristics, manager's knowledge, management commitment, user involvement, information quality, and management information system effectiveness in small- and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam. Adapting scales from previous research, the authors designed questionnaires, which they distributed to respondents in Vietnamese small- and medium-sized enterprises. Also, by employing a meta-analytic path analysis throughout structural equation modelling (SEM) with sample of 356 respondents, authors indicate that organizational characteristics are directly related to management information systems effectiveness. Moreover, manager's knowledge, user involvement, and information quality show their important roles in the increase of management information system effectiveness, yet management commitment does not indicate a similar role in the growth of management information system effectiveness. Bootstrapping is utilized to discover the meditating role of information quality, illustrating that quality information mediates the linkages between user involvement, organizational characteristics, and management information systems. However, the mediating role of information quality in the relationship between management commitment, manager's knowledge, and management information systems is not significant. This study contributes to the management information system literature as well as to enhance MIS effects in small and medium-sized enterprises.

지식경영연구의 개관 및 향후 연구과제 (Synopsis and Prognosis of Knowledge Management Research - Recent Trends and Research Agenda -)

  • Today, knowledge is considered the most strategically important resource. As research in knowledge management advances, it ought to review and categorize the already published literatures on knowledge management in the area of business strategy, accounting/finance, human resource management and management information technology. To identify the knowledge management research trend, we analyze 168 articles published in prominent academic journal during last two decades. This paper develops three stages model for knowledge management research: observation, initiation and evolution stage. Also, we classify the given researches according to the three criteria of contents, related academic area and applied research method.

평가 및 보상이 지식창출과 공유활동에 미치는 영향 - 중앙행정기관을 중심으로 - (An Influence of the Appraisal and Reward on the Activities of Knowledge Creation and Knowledge Sharing - With Focus on the Central Administrative Government -)

  • 본 연구는 중앙행정기관 공무원들을 대상으로 한 실증분석을 통해 평가 및 보상이 지식관리 활동에 미치는 영향관계를 분석하고, 지식관리 활성화를 위한 평가 및 보상체계의 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구에서 실시한 공분산구조분석결과, 평가는 보상과 지식창출 활동에 유의미한 영향요인으로 검증된 반면, 지식공유에 대해서는 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 보상은 지식공유에만 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 지식창출 활동은 지식공유 활동에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 지식관리 활동에 대한 평가 및 보상체계의 개선방안을 제시하였다.

기업의 지식경영 실행에 관한 질적 연구 : S기업의 지식경영 실천 사례 (Implementing Knowledge Management : A Case Study of S Global Corporation)

  • As knowledge has become the most important means of production for a company to survive in a "knowledge-based society", knowledge management has become the key issue in the corporate sector. Despite its growing significance, there are limited numbers of research that describe how companies actually develop, share and practice their knowledge. From this perspective, this study used a qualitative approach to explore on the actual process of knowledge management implementation. In-depth interviews with eleven senior managers, who were working at S global corporation, were conducted. The results show that there are differences between how the participants perceive and how they actually perform in managing knowledge. While the participants tend to conceptualize knowledge management as building a technical system, their performance has shown that knowledge has been developed and shared through active interaction among the members in the company. The factors that impede knowledge management were caused by the individualized job assignment and inapplicable exercises that result in obscuring information flow and utilizing inadequate and low quality of knowledge. The findings of this study imply that knowledge management is not a matter of formality but a paradigm that assures for the flow and share of knowledge.

문서 범주화를 이용한 지식관리시스템에서의 전문가 분류 자동화 (Automation of Expert Classification in Knowledge Management Systems Using Text Categorization Technique)

  • This paper proposes how to build an expert profile database in KMS, which provides the information of expertise that each expert possesses in the organization. To manage tacit knowledge in a knowledge management system, recent researches in this field have shown that it is more applicable in many ways to provide expert search mechanisms in KMS to pinpoint experts in the organizations with searched expertise so that users can contact them for help. In this paper, we develop a framework to automate expert classification using a text categorization technique called Vector Space Model, through which an expert database composed of all the compiled profile information is built. This approach minimizes the maintenance cost of manual expert profiling while eliminating the possibility of incorrectness and obsolescence resulted from subjective manual processing. Also, we define the structure of expertise so that we can implement the expert classification framework to build an expert database in KMS. The developed prototype system, "Knowledge Portal for Researchers in Science and Technology," is introduced to show the applicability of the proposed framework.

정보문화와 조직문화 유형이 지식활용에 미치는 영향 분석 (The Effects of Information Culture and Organizational Culture on Knowledge Utilization)

  • 지식활용은 조직의 역량 제고와 직접적으로 연결하는 활동이며 새로운 가치를 다시 생산하게 하는 지식관리의 가장 핵심적 활동이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 지식활용 활동에 영향을 미치는 요인 및 환경에 대한 체계적이며 종합적인 연구는 더욱 필요하다고 본다. 본 연구의 목적은 지식관리 활동 중 마지막 단계인 지식활용에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 정보문화와 조직문화를 파악하고자 지식활용에 영향을 미치는 정보문화 및 조직문화 요인을 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 정부출연연구소, 도서관, 기업연구소에 근무하는 사서직, 연구직, 일반직 300명을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하였고 이를 통하여 수집된 데이터는 다중회귀분석을 적용하여 정보문화의 여섯 가지 속성과 조직문화의 네 가지 유형이 지식활용의 문제대처, 지식재생산, 지식확산에 미치는 영향관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 정보문화(제어성, 공개성, 적극성)와 조직문화(관계지향문화, 혁신지향문화, 과업지향문화)가 지식활용의 중요한 요인으로 나타났으며, 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 조직의 지식활용에 있어서 시사점을 논의하였다.

지식경영 자원, 전략, 그리고 성과: 상황모형의 검증 (Knowledge Management Resource, Strategy, and Performance: A Test of Contingency Model)

  • Increasing competitive pressure, the constantly accelerating transformation of the economy, and a stronger focus on value creation have initiated the search for sustainable sources of competitive advantage in organizations. In this context, the concept of treating organizational knowledge as a valuable strategic resource has become quite popular recently. Knowledge has become the most critical component in the struggle for sustained competitive advantage and knowledge management (KM) has also been described for its possible role in creating sustainable competitive advantage. In order to examine the contingency between KM resources, KM strategies, and KM performance of organizations, a contingency model of KM, which is based on resource-based theory as well as knowledge-based theory, is developed from the information systems and strategic management literature in order to assess the following questions: (i) What KM resources affect the organization's KM strategies? (ii) Is there a relationship between KM strategies and organizational performance enhanced by KM? A detailed exploratory analysis of survey responses from 79 Korean companies provides the following significant findings: (i) This study found support for the proposed contingency model of KM; (ii) The organization's KM strategies are determined by social resources and its capabilities; (iii) An organization with a culture-based KM strategy is more likely to enhance organizational KM performance than an organization with a technology-based KM strategy.
