David Simon's critically acclaimed HBO series, The Wire (2002-2008), has frequently been termed "Dickensian" for its ambition to present urban social reality in its totality. Primarily focusing on the fourth season, which offers a wide-lens, deeply contextualized investigation into Baltimore's failing public school system, I interpret the show intertextually to discern its different forms of urban pedagogy. With Dickens's Hard Times and other narrative intertexts, I argue that The Wire, with its "Dickensian" attentiveness to the relations of part and whole, attachment and detachment, foregrounds the act of reading and misreading social reality. This is fundamentally a pedagogic process, positioning its characters and viewers as "students," imparting to them lessons in critical thinking. The knowledge gained is largely negative; nevertheless, teaching The Wire in a Korean university has revealed its efficacy in provoking student-viewers to critical reflection on urban social reality and their own positionality.
The purpose of this study is to support elementary teachers to use the teaching of weights and measures. To help the author of the next elementary mathematics textbook to be used as a reference for the quantitative narrative process. For this purpose, I focused on the contents of textbooks in terms of definition, a unit of measure, and calculation. As a result, first, as for the definition of weights and measures, it is taken as an example rather than as an explicit statement. Second, several problems were found in the metrology content and metric unit introduction order. Third, the computation between measurement units stood in simple computation rather than procedural knowledge. Fourth, it was concluded that the reason and groundbreaking of the grade-specific differences and the amount of a student's education are necessary.

Content about family history is one of the most the fundamental and renowned contents in Story-telling but planning tool that is easily applicable in creating such content does not exist in statue quo. In this current system lacking creative infra, this research paper seeks to provide a planning tool that public can easily utilize, and by systemizing the tool. it aims to create a creative contents tool model applicable in variety of genres.
The purpose of this study was to understand what orientations elementary school teachers have related to their science classes, what realities they encounter in real classes, how they overcome their frustrations and failures they experience. We employed a narrative inquiry method and analyzed the experiences of two early career elementary school teachers (Miss Park and Mr. Choi). Miss Park wanted to conduct students-driven inquiry classes, in which students become active investigators, but in reality, she faced herself who conducted teacher-driven classes. Mr. Choi wanted to conduct science classes based on constructivism, but in reality, he encountered himself as a knowledge giver rather than scaffolder. However, rather than giving up their orientations, the two teachers tried to keep them in their own way. It was expected that by understanding what strategies beginner teachers take when their theoretical orientation and ideals are not well implemented in actual educational reality, we could find a clue that will lead to a more successful transition from pre-service teacher to teacher.
Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate clinical studies between 2015 and 2020 on the traditional Chinese medicine treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) using the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database. Methods We searched clinical studies on the Chinese medicine treatment published in traditional Chinese medical journals on CTS through the CNKI search. Fifteen published studies between 2015 and 2020 were chosen and examined for the year of publication, sample size, study design type, diagnosis and evaluation of diverse criteria, treatment period, purpose of the study, and classification based on the treatment technique. Results Out of 73 studies, 15 had practiced various Chinese medical treatments, such as acupuncture, moxibustion, manipulation, herbal medicine application therapy, and external herbal treatment. Conclusions Various studies have investigated the Chinese medicine treatment for CTS in China. To envelope the treatment of CTS in Korean medicine, steady and valuable therapies for high-level clinical research are required. In the future, this study could be helpful in the development of the treatment of CTS with Korean medicine.

Background: Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer mortality among women of all ethnic and age groups in Malaysia. Delay in seeking help for breast cancer symptoms is preventable and by identifying possible factors for delayed diagnosis, patient prognosis and survival rates could be improved. Objectives: This narrative review aimed to understand and evaluate the level of in-depth breast cancer knowledge in terms of clinical breast examination and breast self-examination, and other important aspects such as side-effects and risk factors in Malaysian females. Since Malaysia is multicultural, this review assessed social perceptions, cultural beliefs and help-seeking behaviour in respect to breast cancer among different ethnic groups, since these may impinge on efforts to 'avoid' the disease. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive literature search of seven databases was performed from December 2015 to January 2015. Screening of relevant published journals was also undertaken to identify available information related to the knowledge, perception and help-seeking behaviour of Malaysian women in relation to breast cancer. Results: A total of 42 articles were appraised and included in this review. Generally, women in Malaysia had good awareness of breast cancer and its screening tools, particularly breast self-examination, but only superficial in-depth knowledge about the disease. Women in rural areas had lower levels of knowledge than those in urban areas. It was also shown that books, magazines, brochures and television were among the most common sources of breast cancer information. Delay in presentation was attributed mainly to a negative social perception of the disease, poverty, cultural and religion practices, and a strong influence of complementary and alternative medicine, rather than a lack of knowledge. Conclusions: This review highlighted the need for an intensive and in-depth breast cancer education campaigns using media and community health programmes, even with the existing good awareness of breast cancer. This is essential in order to avoid misconceptions and to frame the correct mind-set about breast cancer among women in Malaysia. Socio-cultural differences and religious practices should be taken into account by health care professionals when advising on breast cancer. Women need to be aware of the risk factors and symptoms of breast cancer so that early diagnosis can take place and the chances of survival improved.
The study noted the characteristics of the web novel's 'Book Travel' motif, which reflects the characteristics of popular culture content, which is free to use familiar genre grammar or code. The imagination of the main character entering the work he read in the real world is a reinterpretation of the existing genre grammar of the web novel, and studying the motif is meaningful in reviewing the intertext of the genre. This motif, summarized as 'Book Travel' differs from other genres in the romance fantasy genre, which can also be used to reveal the gender characteristics of the genre. The study noted that the 'Book Travel' motif was born from an interactive interpretation of existing narratives, thus having a affinity with dimensional shift, regression, and alternative historical objects, and referring to the writing norms of Fanfiction. Through this, it was predicted that the re-combination of existing narratives and interference between genres would continue in the future. Next, the original move in the romance fantasy genre was seen as quite conservative and revealing the logic of self-improvement even though people around him became the main characters and overthrew the narrative. The characters should use their knowledge of the future of the real world to fight in a world of survival where destruction has been predicted. The appearance of an ethical and self-help subject is interesting, but on the other hand, I could look at conservatism in that romance is a way of survival and achievement of characters. The research is meaningful in that it reviewed the characteristics of the original transfer motif, which started fairly quickly in the romance fantasy genre, and reviewed its appearance background and characteristics. There was a limit to the collection of physical works and limited platform. The above limits are intended to be supplemented by further reviewing and supplementing later works.
This thesis examines the reality of Hwaseo's view of scholarship established through the various academic roots, and explains the writing techniques in his poetic world. The results are as follows; With the roots including the Five Books of Confucianism, Five Classics, the books of Zhuxi and Songjadaejeon, Hwaseo established his own scholarship based on the principle of 'keeping of piety and acting with prudence(持敬致愼)'. And he pursued a practical discipline in parallel with 'understanding the utmost principle and extension of knowledge(致知)' and 'diligent self-cultivation(力行)'. The characteristics of his poetic techniques are the use of quotation and interweaving narrative with discussion. He did not stay in just borrowing or variations on the quotation, but gave new meanings beyond the acceptation, and even reached the point of creating newly coined words. He made pithy narratives according to historical events and character's activities, put forward some discussions, and then expressed his emotion. In particular, there were the poems described by interweaving narrative with discussion based on Mencius's historical viewpoint of 'repetition of peaceful times and troublous times one by one(一治一亂)', which could be regarded as the most representative works of his literary value as well as the essence of his scholarship and ideas.

This study is a narrative research study to investigate the knowledge, attitudes and preventive behaviors of middle-aged adults with dementia and to identify related factors. The study subjects were a total of 230 middle-aged adults living in K and P cities, and data were collected from March 2018 to July 2019 using a structured questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS / WIN 23.0 program. As a result of the study, the knowledge of dementia was 9.97 out of 15, the attitude of dementia was 47.45 out of 60, and the prevention of dementia was 27.75 out of 36. Knowledge of dementia had a positive correlation with dementia attitude (r=.122, p=.050) and dementia prevention behavior (r=.122, p<.05). Factors affecting dementia prevention behavior include marital status (β=.129, p<.05), education level (β=.219, p<.000), and type of disease (β=-.108, p<.000), presence of religion (β =-. 219, p <.000), interest in dementia (β=.237, p<.000), presence of drinking (β=.317, p<.000), smokingPresence or absence (β=.235, p<.000) and knowledge of dementia β=.316, p<.000) were found to have a significant effect. Therefore, in order to improve dementia prevention behavior of middle-aged adults, it is necessary to develop customized education programs for middle-aged adults to practice knowledge of dementia, positive attitudes, and good lifestyle.

This study aims to interpret the experience of science research in a graduate school laboratory from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze's concepts of "agencement" and "becoming". The research was conducted as an autobiographical narrative inquiry. The research text is written in a way that tells the story of my science research experience and retells it from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze. In Deleuze's view, science research is a constantly flowing agencement. The science research agencement is composed of a mechanical agencement of various experimental tools-machines and researcher-machines as well as a collective agencement of speech acts such as biological knowledge, experiment protocols, and laboratory rules. Furthermore, science research agencement is fluid as events occur all over the agencement. Data, as a change occurring in the material dimension, is an event and sign that raises problems. It has the agency to influence agencement through an intersubjective relationship with researchers, and the meaning of data is generated in this process. The change of agencement compelled me to perform science practice. I have performed repeated science practice, meaning that my body has constantly been connected to other machines. As a result of this connection, my body has been affected, and the capacity of my body that constitutes the agencement has been augmented. In addition, I was able to be deterritorialized from the existing science research agencement and reterritorialized in a new science research agencement with data. This process of differentiation allowed me to becoming-scientist. In sum, this study provides implications for science practice-oriented education by exploring the process of becoming-scientist based on my science research experience.
