In the previous KM (Knowledge Management) studies, it has been repeatedly pointed that CoP (Community of Practice) should be used as a platform for boosting up corporate innovative activities. Despite this, it is very rare to find relevant literature in which real-world cases are introduced showing critical success factors, implemented strategies, and objective analysis of results. In this sense, main objective of this paper is very timely- to introduce a real-world CoP case in which POSCO, world-leading steel company, sorted out creative CoP strategies to nurture knowledge-sharing activities to solve various kinds of problems at hand, and maintain appropriate level of knowledge circulation throughout all the working units of company. In a nutshell, POSCO has been successful in any measure in utilizing the creative CoP activities as strategic means to change the paradigm of innovation and extract fruitful outcomes from integrating three important individual activities such as work, learning, and innovation.
This study is to compare the main subjects of domestic and foreign knowledge management research in terms of keywords and to clarify whether domestic knowledge management research reflects research trends in overseas knowledge management research. Specifically, we try to find out whether the central activities such as knowledge sharing, knowledge generation, and acquisition, which are knowledge management activities of knowledge management research, are being studied without bias. In order to analyze this, we analyzed the data of domestic and foreign knowledge management research for the last 5 years from 2012 to 2016. In Korea, the Knowledge Management Society of Korea collected 167 papers and 787 keywords, and collected 132 papers and 640 keywords from the Korea Society of Management Information Systems in order to distinguish the research areas. Overseas papers collected 315 papers and 1,746 keywords published by Emerald. Also, we collected 382 papers and 1,633 keywords in the Korean Management Review and collected 646 papers and 2,879 keywords in the Korean Business Education Review. Frequency analysis and network analysis of 1,642 papers and 7,685 keywords are summarized as follows. The Knowledge Management Society of Korea has focused on knowledge sharing, and in 2016, interest in knowledge transfer and knowledge search has shifted. The Journal of Knowledge Management, which is published by Emerald, has been a major concern for knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing. The research trends of the Korea Society of Management Information Systems to distinguish a clear identity of knowledge management research are focusing on smart area and mobile domain such as information security domain, cloud, smart phone, and smart work. In the Korea Society of Management Information Systems research, the main subject of knowledge sharing is also commonly found.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the relationship between knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism and patient safety management activities of nursing students with clinical practical experience. Methods: Self-administered questionnaires survey on knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism, and patient safety management activities were conducted for the $3^{rd}-year$ and $3^{th}-year$ nursing students. 139 questionnaires were distributed, of which, 131 were used for data analysis. Results: The scores of nursing students' knowledge of patient safety, nursing professionalism and patient safety management activities were $6.76{\pm}1.26$, $65.11{\pm}7.97$ and $67.99{\pm}7.26$, respectively. Knowledge of patient safety differed significantly according to the grade. Nursing professionalism had a difference with major satisfaction, clinical practical satisfaction, and experience of patient safety accident. Patient safety management activities were positively correlated (p<.01) with knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism. Patient safety management activities increased significantly with increase in the scores of knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionals. The factors that were related to patient safety management activities of nursing students were knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism. Knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism were selected as significant variables for explaining the patient safety management activities of nursing students, of which the coefficient of determination was 9.8%. Conclusion: To promote patient safety management activities of nursing students, training programs for patient safety management activities are required. Also, there is the need to increase the knowledge of patient safety and nursing professionalism of nursing students using various educational method.
The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the impact that occurs when Korean organizations make practical use of various information technology tools and systems in the knowledge management process, such as sharing, learning and creating knowledge. Such a process is usually made through online and offline knowledge management activities. This paper also verifies how the externalization of tacit knowledge, and the internalization of explicit knowledge via the Internet and offline socialization activities have altered the mechanisms of knowledge transfers inside organizations. For the research, a survey was conducted on the satisfaction and usability levels of information technology, and the impact of IT usage on the results of knowledge management activities and knowledge transfers. 622 Korean organizations were surveyed, including major listed firms and public organizations. The results were examined as an online/offline integration process using SECI's Model proposed by Nonaka (1994, 1995). The analysis shows that information technology satisfaction and the usage of information technology help accelerate the pace of the knowledge flow and amplify the volume of the knowledge transfer by boosting the externalization and internalization processes-also known as knowledge management activities. However. there is no distinct correlation between information technology and socialization, an offline knowledge transferal activity. In particular, the quality of knowledge-an end result of knowledge transfer-does not improve merely by the externalization of online knowledge and instead requires the internalization of knowledge processes. Above all, the research reveals that offline socialization processes vastly contribute to the improvement of knowledge quality. This paper suggests that in order to ensure a transfer of quality knowledge, an organization or a company should focus on the use of information technology rather than the satisfaction level of information technology, and that knowledge transfers via the Internet has limitations in creating high quality of knowledge. For an organization to ensure the transfer of high-quality knowledge, the organization should not entirely hinge the transfer of knowledge online, as it is essential to have an offline method-a form of socialization such as a 'community of practice.'

Maintaining the permanence of a company in the current rapidly changing business environment is not an easy task. Rather, the lifespan of a company can be said to be gradually decreasing. As such, the author of this paper, which describes the current market environment, is the sales organization of a large company. While leading the company, I thought about how to overcome the rapidly changing market and create an organization that continues to grow. As a result, I succeeded in creating an organization that continued to grow over the past two years, and the main activity of this result was the use of sales computer. It was clear that it was an information sharing activity. This can be said to be a result of proving that a series of activities to create and share information is important for the sales organization of ICT companies to actively respond to the rapidly changing market environment. Therefore, this study attempted to examine the relationship between knowledge management and business performance in the sales field of ICT companies, which has not been covered so far. Knowledge management is a four-stage activity from a process perspective, divided into knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization. did. As a result of the study, first, knowledge management activities, such as knowledge creation and knowledge storage, were found to have a significant impact on financial performance. Second, knowledge management activities such as knowledge creation, knowledge storage, knowledge transfer, and knowledge utilization were all found to have an impact on non-financial performance. In the end, this study confirmed that efforts to turn tacit knowledge into knowledge in order to respond to the ever-changing ICT market are ultimately an important factor in growing a company.
The effective management of knowledge has become one of the critical success factors in current organizations. In spite of the extensive use of Knowledge Management System (KMS), useful information and knowledge resources are still transmitted through personal networks among people in organizations. Thus, social network theory which focuses on social relationships in organization can be a fruitful theoretical resource for enhancing Knowledge Management (KM) performances. In this study, we investigate the effects of intra-team network characteristics (i.e., group density and degree of centralization) and external boundary spanning activities on knowledge management performances of a team. We also acknowledge that all group members do not necessarily agree on the team goal and actively disseminate useful information and knowledge. Drawing on the political perspective on KM which emphasizes the role of trust among group members, we examine the mediating effects of team trust between internal/external network characteristics and KM performances. From the data of 220 teams in financial companies in Korea, we found that: (1) group density had positive effects on KM performances (i.e., knowledge creation, sharing, and use). (2) However, centralization was not significantly associated with KM performances. (3) Team trust was found to be an important factor mediating the relationship between intra-team network characteristics, boundary spanning activities, and KM performances. Based on these results, we discuss and suggest possible implications of the findings when designing and implementing KM practices.
The purpose of this research is to investigate success factors of knowledge management in Korea companies. The research scheme was experimented through a questionnaire survey answered by 87 companies. The research model was composed of five groups : 1) CEO support and business strategics, 2) organization culture 3) information technology characteristic of knowledge workers 4) a reward and performance measurement 5) knowledge management system. The results of this research indicated that the CEO support and organization culture are important factors for knowledge activities. The information technology characteristic of knowledge workers and a reward have small effects for knowledge activities. Manufacturing companies and non-manufacturing companies need different knowledge management strategies. The results of this study will be helpful for the success implementation of knowledge management in Korean companies.
This study attempts to verify effects of CEO' supports, compensation and educational training and those of individual annual salaries and company's sales on promotion of knowledge management expected to contribute to enhancing construction industry's competitiveness, from the perspective of person-organization fit. For the analysis, a total of 368 effective questionnaires were used to conduct independent sample t-test, regression analysis and hierarchical moderated regression analysis. The findings show that individual annual salaries have a positive relationship with company's performance and company's sales also have positive relationships with both knowledge management activities and company performance, and CEO's supports, compensation and educational training are important factors that can improve knowledge management activities. In addition, the principle that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is also operated in construction industry, as in other industries. Therefore, members in a company should conduct optimal strategies to enhance the knowledge management activities through selection and concentration, while governmental agencies require the establishment of IT system for it and supports for related cost and consulting of it.
Knowledge management can be defined as the valuable storing and creation of new knowledge, as well as the sharing of this knowledge to be applied in all areas of an organization's management activities (Turban et al., 2003). In a knowledge-based society where intangible intellectual assets are the source of competitive advantage rather than tangible assets, knowledge management activities are emphasized in both academia and industry. This study analyzes research on "knowledge management" keyword indexed in the Korean Citation Index (https://kci.go.kr), operated by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), to identify related research trends in Korea and suggest future directions for knowledge management activities. The results show that knowledge management is being researched through the integration of various fields and theories, indicating the potential for expanding research topics and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Furthermore, the study of knowledge management often include the keyword 'innovation', emphasizing its significant role in organizational and technological innovations. The analysis of keywords by year also reveals that they reflect the major environmental changes of each period, demonstrating the increasing importance of knowledge management in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
This study is performed the multinomial logistic regression with the officials needs level about a component of knowledge administration for drawing a demand estimation model in the knowledge administration activities. This study is not that an activity and domain of knowledge administration is to apply and to operate uniformly it in public sector, one is suggested an application with a demand diagnose of knowledge administration in order to saw a course of the knowledge administration programs to suit a function and role of public administration. A result of this study is that an activity and domain of the knowledge administration is different from a component of it namely, knowledge creating, knowledge organizing, knowledge sharing and distribution, knowledge utility, and knowledge store. And the officials individual characteristics, administration agency, a kind of business, and a function and role of work are different from demand of knowledge administration. Also, the practical use of KMS (knowledge management system) is not so high in public sector. Accordingly, the tools of knowledge administration will deliberate on a consolidation with the existing system in the device.
