A Study on the Nutrition Knowledge, Dietary Behaviors, and Dietary Habits according to the Gender in High School Students in Chungnam Area (충남지역 고등학생의 성별에 따른 영양지식, 식행동 및 식습관 연구)

  • Aim of this study is to investigate the nutrition knowledge, dietary behaviors, and dietary habits by the gender in high school students in Chungnam province. Girls students had a higher score than boys students for nutritional knowledge, not in the significant difference. However, boys students had a higher score for dietary behaviors than girls students. Dietary habits showed a significant difference in the unbalanced food habit and eating speed by the gender, and the eating speed of boys students was faster than that of girls students. For boys students, the nutritional knowledge and dietary behaviors did not have the significant correlation. Otherwise, girls students had the positive correlation between the nutritional knowledge and dietary behaviors, and had the characteristics of behaviors that the higher the nutritional knowledge score, the better eating habit. In addition, the boys and girls students had the positive correlation between the score of nutritional knowledge and the frequency of breakfast, and the score of nutritional knowledge and the frequency/regularity of breakfast, respectively. Because some dietary habits/behaviors are related closely to their nutritional knowledge, the high school students need the systematic and steady nutritional education to apply their known nutritional knowledge to actual life.

Comparative Study on Knowledge Protection in Public and Private Organizations (정부조직의 지식보호 - 민간기업과의 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • Unlike knowledge sharing or knowledge transfer, knowledge protection has received little attention in the literature. Knowledge protection play a very important role in keeping organization competitive. This study explores the differences in knowledge protection between public and private organizations by T-test and regression analysis. The results of this study shows that the level of knowledge protection in public organizations is lower than that in private organizations. There is even larger difference in the level of access to key knowledge from outside between the two sectors. Such difference can be explained by the unique characteristics of public sector organizations. Understanding why the level of knowledge protection differs between the public and private sector is very important. This study presents lessons and implications for management leadership.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the MKT(Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching) of the pre-service mathematics teachers on the normal distribution through the comparative analysis between the sub-elements of the MKT. In addition, it is to examine the factors that cause the difference of the subjects' MKT. To accomplish this, by the subject of 24 secondary pre-service mathematics teachers, in this study the test items of the MKT on the normal distribution were developed and data were collected and analyzed. As a result of the analysis of the MKT test sheet, the CCK(Common Content Knowledge) of the preparatory mathematics teacher was confirmed as a high score, whereas the SCK(Specialized Content Knowledge) and KCS(Knowledge of Content and Students) were confirmed as low scores. In addition, through these results, it could be confirmed that the difference in MKT of preparatory mathematicians occurred.

The Research in Actual State of Food Consciousness of Male, Female College Students by Major, Non-major in Food Dietetics (식품영양학 전궁 비전공에 따른 남녀대학생의 식의식 실태조사)

  • By the research of the actual state of food consciousness as the object of male, female 421 college students by major, non-major in food dietetics, the results are as follows. The validity degree of the guestion article appeared at the analysis of the knowledge of nutrition(the figure of Cronbach "${\alpha}$" overall 0.58, major 0.62, non-major 0.57). In the interest degree about nutrition knowledge of the major students were significant(P<0.05), but the non-major students were not significant, and there was a difference between two groups of the male and female, major and non-major students in the information about knowledge. The knowledge of the major students mostly get from school education, non-major from mass communication as TV and rodio, etc. There was not significant difference in self-consciousness degree of health of all the male, female students by major, non-major, and the self-consciousness degree about health of should not be significant to the food habit. Therefore deviating from acquirement of nutrition knowledge by the wrong medium of food consciousness of home dietary life, improvement plans should be activated for the right knowledge to practice in actual life. Taking the opportunity of food and nutrition education through literary subject in the curriculum of the college for students, good food consciousness must be properly applied all the part of dietary life, and it is urgent for them to carry out scientific and reasonable curriculum and educational material development.

A Study on Knowledge, Attitude and Experience of College Students toward Sexual Behavior (일개 대학 대학생들의 성 지식, 태도 및 경험에 관한 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the knowledge, attitude and experience in sex for college students in oder to provide basic sex education information. For this study, the questionnaires were given to 316 students in the S college of Kyungi-do and collected during the period from March 22 to May 7, 1999. These results were analyzed statistically by means of frequency, percentage, t-test, one-way ANOVA. The results of this analysis are as follows. 1. The level of sexual knowledge related to sex was relatively high. The level of subjects knowledge was sexual Physiology, Generation Physiology, Venereal Disease and Genital Physiology. 2. The sources of sexual knowledge were friends 26.6%, expert books 23.4%, teachers 7.6%, mass-media 7.6% of subjects obtained. 3. Only 19.3% of subjects thought that pre-marriage virginity should be kept and there was difference of concept between males(3.48%) and females (15.8%). 4. The experience of masturbation was 28.5% of total. The subjects that had not experienced kiss were 51.6% of total. The subjects that experienced sexual intercourse were 76.9% of total and there were difference between both sexes(male: 54.0%, female: 82.6%).

A Study on Knowledge and Attitude about Oral Contraceptives in University Students (일 지역 대학생의 경구 피임약에 관한 지식과 태도 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate knowledge and attitude about oral contraceptives in university students in order to provide better sex education programs and direction. The subjects of this study were 337 university students in M city, during the period from April 1 to April 20, 2001. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS package. The results from this study were summarized as follows : 1. Oral contraceptives related knowledge marked $52.6\pm7.2$ of male students and $53.9\pm5.9$ of females with a range of 14 to 70. The level of female students' knowledge was higher than that of male's but there is not statistically a significant difference(p= .080). Oral contraceptives related attitude marked $60.0\pm10.0$ of male students and $57.4\pm7.8$ of females with a range of 18 to 90. The level of male students' attitude was higher than that of female's and there is statistically a significant difference(p= .011). 2. General characteristics related to oral contraceptives review grade and religion but not related variables statistically significant. 3. Wanted age of oral contraceptives taking medicine and age was correlated positively (r=.178, p=.004). Total knowledge score of oral contraceptives and total attitude score were correlated positively(r=.467 p=.000).

A Study on the Difference of Students' Recognition, Attitude, and Knowledge Level of Health Activity by the Health Education (보건교육 수강여부에 따른 보건 인식.태도.지식의 차이에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigated the difference of the university students' recognition, attitude, and knowledge level of health by the health education in Daejeon and Chungnam province. First, in the survey analysis result regarding the health related recognition, the students who had attended lectures of health education were surveyed not only to have higher health related recognition than the students who did not have attended the lecture of health education, but also to appear meaningful in statistics by showing significance level p<0.05 in total score. Second, in the research regarding the health related attitude, the attendance or nonattendance of health education lecture were surveyed not to have high effect on the attitude of daily lives of the university students. Third, in the analysis of health related knowledge, the knowledge level between the students who had attended lectures of health education and who did not have attended the lecture of health education showed that the students who had attended lectures of health education got more excellent correct answer rate. In this survey result, the students who had attended lectures of health education showed higher health related recognition and knowledge than the students who had not attended lectures of health education.

Obesity Rate and Sexual Knowledge in Menarche and Non-Menarche among 6th Grade Elementary School Girls (초등학교 6학년 여학생 월경군과 비월경군의 비만도와 성지식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of obesity and sexual knowledge between age-matched 168 postmenarcheal and 168 premenatcheal girls among 6th grade elementary school girls in Busan. Anthropometric measurements were taken for height and body weight of subjects for obesity and a questionnaire for sexual knowledge representing 5 categories was developed by researcher. For the statistical analysis of the collected data, frequency, Chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation were performed by SPSS WIN Vesion 12.0 program. These measurements of menarcheal grils were significantly higher than those of non-menacheal girls in height, body weight, BMI and obesity level. The sexual knowledge was low, expecially they didn't know well about sexual disease and contraception. There was no significant difference between two groups, but there was significant difference among obesity level, obesity group had sexual knowledge than others. And there were significant positive relations between the menarche and the obesity. The most important findings in the study showed that is needed the systemic and concrete sexual education in home, school and community, and especially by the professionals in the sex education field.

A Study of on the Sexual Knowledge, Sexual Consciousness and Values of University Student (대학생의 성지식과 성의식 및 성가치관에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide substantial foundation to establish effective sex education plan for university students, and to inquire into sexual knowledge, consciousness and values of university students and into whether there are difference between health related major subjects and non-health related major subjects. Methods: This study was conducted on students in 227 health related major subjects and 226 non-health related major subjects in chungbuk C city. The Questionnaire, used in this study, was re-made on basis of reviews and previous studies, and total of 453 questionnaires were used. Results: Sexual knowledge scores were not significantly difference between health related major subjects and non-health related major subjects. but health related major subjects were more educated contraception, pregnancy artificial abortion, sexually transmitted disease than non-health related major subjects. Sexual knowledge was correlated with attitude in sex, times of sex education and usefulness of sex education. Conclusion: The university authorities make a curriculum for systematic sex educations and need to assertive support students and they can have right sexual consciousness and have mature and responsible attitude to sex through right education of knowledge in sex.

The Effects of Patient and Family Education Guideline on Knowledge and Attitude toward Cancer Pain Control (암환자용 통증관리 지침서 교육이 환자 및 가족의 암성 통증관리에 대한 지식과 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of provision of a cancer pain guideline and education for patients with cancer and their families on their knowledge and attitude toward cancer pain control. Method: A nonequivalent control group pre-post test design was used. The participants were selected according to a selection criteria from patients and their families on the medical ward at K university hospital in D city. Both the experimental group for patients with cancer and control group consisted of 16 patients and their families. Results: The first hypothesis, which assumed that there was a difference between the patients in the experimental group and the control group on knowledge (t=-20.006, p=.000) and attitude (t=-13.492, p=.000), was accepted. The second hypothesis, which assumed there was a difference between families in the experimental group and the control group on knowledge (t=-16.087, p=.000) and attitude (t=-10.262, p=.000), was supported. Conclusion: Education for cancer related pain control with a patient guideline had a positive effect on knowledge and attitude of patients with cancer patients and their families suggesting that there is a need to developed this type of guidelines.
