Objectives The causes of Epistaxis could vary in children, but among them, digestive problem is an important cause. So, the purpose of this study is to report seven cases of chronic epistaxis treated by oriental medicine. Methods The seven patients who are diagnosed with epistaxis were treated with herbal medicine (Auajinuktang-gamibang), and its effect was measured. Results After the treatment, number of the epistaxis incident is decreased, and the patient's general conditions have gotten better. Conclusions This study has shown that oriental medical treatment on children's epistaxis was effective, but further studies are needed.

To investigate the heat loads imposed on a reactor vessel through the natural convection of core melts in severe accidents, mass transfer experiments were performed based on the heat transfer/mass transfer analogy, using two- (2-D) and three-dimensional (3-D) facilities of various heights. The modified Rayleigh numbers ranged from $10^{12}$ to $10^{15}$, with a fixed Prandtl number of 2,014. The measured Nusselt numbers showed a trend similar to those of existing studies, but the absolute values showed discrepancies owing to the high Prandtl number of this system. The measured angle-dependent Nusselt numbers were analyzed for 2-D and 3-D geometries, and a multiplier was developed that enables the extrapolation of 2-D data into 3-D data. The definition of $Ra^{\prime}_H$ was specified for 2-D geometries, so that results could be extrapolated for 3-D geometries; also, heat transfer correlations were developed.

Brainstem gliomas remain an important oncologic problem in the pediatric age group. These tumors constitute between 10 and 15% of all intracranial childhood tumors and despite advanced in the diagnosis and treatment of children with brain tumors, brainstem gliomas are still almost invariably rapidly lethal. We have few of clinical records of braintumors and admission case in the oriental medical hospital, classifications of tumor, symptoms and etc, specially in the pediatrics, so we introduce a case of a 7-year-old child with brainstem glioma which is diagnosised by MRI in our hospital.

In the case of designing a high dose rate remote controlled afterloading treatment room with existing hospital facilities. We must construct the effective protective barriers so as to reduce the primary and scattered radiation up to the maximum permissible dose level. It is difficult to reinforce the barrier thickness of the shielding requirements because of the limited space and the problem of the existing building structure at the surrounding area. Therefore we can reduce the intensity of primary radiation to the required degree at the location of interest with installing the appropriate I shaped Pb barriers between the radiation source and the shielding wall of the concrete. As a result, it was possible to reduce the intensity of the primary radiation below the M.P.D level by using additional Pb barriers instead of increasing thickness of concrete wall.

Purpose: Examination of the effects of auricular acupressure therapy on insomnia of Taeumin in elderly women. Methods: Fifty-six women over 65 yr-of-age (experimental group n=28, control group n=28) residing in Seoul or Gyung-gi province participated in the study, which used an unequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Data collected from May, 2007 to May, 2008 was analyzed by SPSS Ver. 16. Results: Auricular acupressure was associated with better sleep state and self-reported satisfaction of sleep as compared with the control group. Conclusions: Aricular acupressure therapy can be beneficial in relief of insomnia in elderly women.

Recently, due to high rise building by rapid urbanization, the spaces incapable of being penetrated by sunlight into interior is increasing. So, sunlighting systems are important means to be able to get sunlight into indoors and to make sure of sunshine awareness. This study aims to evaluate lighting performance of sunlighting mirror systems. As results. these are very useful for the increase of an average illuminance of indoors and the penetration of sunlight. Especially, the second reflecting mirrors can be applied to spaces lack of sunlight. And these sunlighting systems developed in the present study is validated physical and psychological performance to both building and people.

Solar assisted heat pump with freon circulating system has been developed. Revising the cool chamber(flower storage) with the solar thermal hot water producing system, the more amount of hot water can be produced, which can be even used for room panel heating. The compressor was cooled by water jaket instead of air cooled so that the system energy efficiency was improved quite well.

Although the Insamyangwee-Tang has been widely used in clinical purposes in the oriental medicine and its clinical efficiency is documented for the cases of gastritis, gastric ulcer and enteritis but the experimental study on these has not been undertaken. So,To investigate the clinical efficiency, of Insamyangwee-Tang and validate its oriental medical theory, these experiments were undertaken, by being compared with animal experiment. ?The following results were obtained. ?1. By effect of Insamyangwee-Tang on isolated ileum from mice, rats, rabbits and Guinea pigs, the motility of ileums was inhibited remarkably. ?2. By effect of Insamyangwee-Tang on motility of the small intestine in rabbits, the motility was inhibited remarkably too. ?3. Insamyangwee-Tang inhibited charcoal transport functions in the small intestine of mice. ?4. By effect of Insamyangwee-Tang on isolated duodenum from rats, the motility of duodenum was inhibited remarkably.?5. Gastric juice and pepsin secretion was decreased, anti-ulceration effect was recognized.

A recommendation system tracks past action of a group of users to make a recommendation to individual members of the group. The computer-mediated marking and commerce have grown rapidly nowadays so the concerns about various recommendation procedure are increasing. We introduce a recommendation methodology by which Korean department store suggests products and services to their customers. The suggested methodology is based on decision tree, product taxonomy, and association rule mining. Decision tree is to select target customers, who have high purchase possibility of recommended products. Product taxonomy and association rule mining are used to select proper products. The validity of our recommendation methodology is discussed with the analysis of a real Korean department store.

The handicapped as a member of a society should possess the same opportunity of a perfect participation in public affairs and an equal opportunity in parity of treatment. All sorts of physical and social barriers surrounding the handicapped who can not having a impairment and disability give a less chance to have a share in their society. Therefore, this discrimination barriers must be phased off not only by handicapped but also by normal social members so as to perfect and free access to movement, all of social institution and social activities. Therefor, this paper provides a basic data which conducts investigation and analysis on the outdoor access environment for the handicapped's easy access to public building or facilities. It would be most import rules to make a decision between improvement rate and object for public building or public facilities.
