Objective : The Blood-Letting Therapy which gives an acupuncture and lets blood on the surface of body by using various needles is quite effective in chronic disease. SoMoon lays the theoretical foundation of Korean Medicine. This article could help improve the understanding of the blood-letting therapy in SoMoon and also paves the way for applying the therapy to treatment of the various diseases. Method : This study selected the texts correlated to indications of blood-letting, after collecting the sentences from SoMoon with the search words 'blood', 'stagnated blood' and so on. Conclusion : This study on the Blood-Letting Therapy includes the way and location to give an acupuncture, the general rules of prescription, needles, amount of blood-letting, running mechanism and attentions. The purpose of Blood Letting Therapy is to treat and cure the disease through Improve vital energy and Expel harmful energy by improving meridian function and harmonizing Um-Yang and Ki-Blood.

In this paper, we present an implementation of Viola-Jones algorithm in a multi-core SoC by using skin color information and a parallel processing method. In order to reduce unnecessary operations and improve the detection speed, we adopted a face detection algorithm based on skin color and deleted background image. The algorithm is functionally divided into several parts taking account of the size and the dependency so that the divided functions can be proceeded in parallel. Experiment results in SoC with built-in Cortex-A9 multi core show that it is about 1.8 times faster than the existing algorithm which is not divided.

Currently the train traffic control system is built wholly by one package construction. It is under variable circumstance such as variation of signalling equipment and station expansion. This condition reduces system reliability and availability. And the term of system change is longer than 10 years, so it is hard to update to the latest technology and the new function. In order to do the system should be replaced to new one completely. The step by step construction of ADS(Autonomous Decentralized System) is one of the solution. So the simulation of it on the real station help to find system requirement and verify good of online expansion and online test.

Is the high speed train with 300km/h running speed safe from derailment when it meets the mid or small-size earthquakes? In the present step, it is not so easy to judge whether it'll be derailed or not during an earthquake. However, we could elevate the running safety of high speed train as making it slow or even stop. The main objective of this study is to make the domestic running regulation and the re-running manual for high speed train with reference to the standards of France, Japan etc. To do so, numerical analysis and experiment will be performed from the next year. In addition, we'll evaluate possible places of derailment during an earthquake and make a database based on the Geographic Information System to effectively manage them.

Objective : This study is about stroke risk factors which may differ between countries. Methods : We recruited 1725 ischemic stroke patients from multiple-centers. We analyzed stroke risk factors: hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, depression, cardiac source, smoking, waist-to hip ratio, alcohol intake, physical activity, and psychosocial stress. We then compared risk factor results from other countries (the INTERSTROKE study) with this study. Results : 10 risk factors are related to stroke incidence. They were somewhat different between this study and the INTERSTROKE study. Conclusions : Hypertension is the most important risk factor of stroke, and other 9 risk factors also should be managed to prevent stroke incidence. Frequency of risk factors were different from the INTERSTROKE study. I think it could be partly due to differences of ethnicity and age. More studies are needed to describe characteristics of risk factors of Koreans.

This study is a report on recently discovered medical records based on traditional medicine in the 1900s. First, the contents of the records and their significance are described in detail. Next, a simple example of the research follows, in order to explain the medical and historical significance the records contain and to answer the question of how this historical document can contribute to future medical and historical studies. The documents dealt with in this study, the Chunggang Medical Records, are medical records compiled by a Korean doctor of oriental medicine by the name of Younghun Kim who practiced in the center of Seoul for a period of over 60 years. The records, which eventually amounted to over 1,500 books, were made known to the academic world when the descendents recently donated them to Kyunghee University. The reason these medical records attract so much attention from academic circles, even though they are the work of one individual, is that they contain abundant information on general public medical health at the time, in addition to the fact that Kim Younghun was a well known figure among Oriental Medicine doctors in Korea. The medical records start in 1915 and continue until Kim Younhun's death in 1974, though they have some damaged or missing parts. Kim's medical records are a gold mine not only for scholars studying the medical history of the early 1900s, but also for doctors trying to emulate the techniques embedded in a great predecessor's medical practice.

Primary cilia have critical roles in coordinating multiple cellular signaling pathways. Dysregulation of primary cilia is implicated in various ciliopathies. To identify specific regulators of autophagy, we screened chemical libraries and identified mefloquine, an anti-malaria medicine, as a potent regulator of primary cilia in human retinal pigmented epithelial (RPE) cells. Not only ciliated cells but also primary cilium length was increased in mefloquine-treated RPE cells. Treatment with mefloquine strongly induced the elongation of primary cilia by blocking disassembly of primary cilium. In addition, we found that autophagy was increased in mefloquine-treated cells by enhancing autophagic flux. Both chemical and genetic inhibition of autophagy suppressed ciliogenesis in mefloquine-treated RPE cells. Taken together, these results suggest that autophagy induced by mefloquine positively regulates the elongation of primary cilia in RPE cells.

Objective & Methods: In order to ascertain the names. locations. the way of getting acu-point and indications for moxibustion about Ko-Hwang(膏盲) and Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪). I have translated the text for Ko-Hwang(膏盲) and Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪) collected in several relative classical books. and performed literal investigation about it. Through the study, the following results are obtained. Results & Conclusions: 1. The two words Go(膏) and Hwang(盲) have different concepts each other originally. and Go-Hwang(膏盲) is the abbreviation of the words "Upon the Hwang(盲), Under the Go(膏)", which means "A gap of Heart and diaphragm" that is under the heart and on the diaphragm 2. Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪) is the acu-point which can treat the diseases located in the gap of Go(膏) and Hwang(盲), so they must not be named as Go-Hwang(膏盲) or Go-Hwang-Hyui(膏盲穴). 3. The origination of Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪) is speculated as the interval of Hwang-Bo-Mil(皇甫謐) and Son-Sa-Mak(孫思邈). And I think it had been created by Son-Sa-Mak(孫思邈) up to now. 4. The words "Four ribs and Three spaces(四肋三間)" those are founded in the text of The Entrance of Medicine(醫學入門) and The Great Success on Acupuncture and Moxibustion(針灸大成) are either the words those had been quoted from The Bible of Helping Life by Acupucture and Moxibustion(針灸資生經) in wrong way. or the misunderstanding of the original mind of Son-Sa-Mak(孫思邈) as being quoted in the text. So you should know it exactly as Son-Sa-Mak(孫思邈) had said. 5. When you search the acu-point Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪), you must pull the arms of patients forwardly to reveal the acu -point. because it is covered by the scapula in normal posture. 6. The indications for the use of Go-Hwang-Su(膏盲兪) are same as mentioned in this study. And it can grow the Yang-Gi(陽氣) more prosperous.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of mistletoe (Viscum album var. coloratum) growing on Carpinus laxiflora BL. on proliferation and differentiation of HL-60 acute promyelocytic leukemia cells. Aqueous extract and its $(NH_2)_2SO_4$ saturated fractions of the mistletoe exhibited potent anti-proliferation activity against HL-60 cells. Moreover, when HL-60 cells were treated with 0~30% and 30～70% $(NH_2)_2SO_4$ saturated fractions of the mistletoe, HL-60 expressed CD 66b or CD 14 cell surface antigens and showed activity to reduce nitroblue tetrazolium, indicating that mistletoe induces the differentiation of HL-60 into granulocytes or monocytes. To understand how mistletoe induces the differentiation, we investigated the expression of molecules for modulating the proliferation and differentiation of leukemia cells, such as c-Myc and myeloblastin. The 0~30% $(NH_2)_2SO_4$ saturated fraction of the mistletoe reduced the mRNA levels of c-Myc and myeloblastin in a time-dependent manner. The results indicate that the mistletoe induces the differentiation of HL-60 cells via the decrease of c-Myc and myeloblastin expressions. Thus, it is suggested that mistletoe has a therapeutic potential for the treatment of acute promyelocytic leukemia.

In this paper, we design the FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) of the CAMB (Constant-Amplitude Multi-code Biorthogonal) modulation, and implement the SoC (System on Chip). The ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) chip is be implemented through targeting and board test. This 12Mbps modem SoC includes the ARM (Advanced RISC Machine)7TDMI, 64Kbyte SRAM(Static Random Access Memory) and ADC (Analog to Digital Converter)/DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) for flexible applications. Additionally, the modem SoC can support the variable communication interfaces such as the 16-bits PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association), USB (Universal Serial Bus) 1.1, and 16C550 Compatible UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter).
