Purpose - This study reviews the past studies that have researched Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) as a well-known supply chain collaboration program. The main goals of this study are to figure out how VMI brings significant benefits to the supply chain system and suggest additional areas that future studies would address to discover the true nature of VMI. Research design, data, methodology - This study conducts literature reviews on numerous studies that have researched VMI. The past studies are classified in terms of several main issues that have been commonly addressed by many researchers. This study also identifies three key collaborative features of VMI, which possibly explain why VMI improves the supply chain performance. Results - This study finds out that most past studies focused on a limited research issues about VMI. Many researchers have considered integrated decision making and information sharing to be key features that enables VMI to improve the supply chain performance. Conclusions - Based on the findings from the literature review, this study suggests that future studies on VMI take account of new research issues and pay attention to cost payment that researchers have rarely addressed.

Most current 3D digital maps are 2.5 dimension models based on DEM, which can only be recognized, browsed and operated by a special software, far from meeting the needs of a modern digital city (global) with the distributed, isomerous and multiple application on the real 3D representation and open sharing models. In this paper, a new generation digital city oriented 3D digital map is studied. Firstly, a real 3D digital map representation is presented. And then, some key techniques and methods for browser-based 3D digital map’s representation, display and operation are introduced, which can realized the open sharing of 3D map in distributed, isomerous and multiple application environment. Furthermore, the scale driving technique of proposed 3D digital map is also studied. And currently, some developments based on some of the above methods are being carried to provide key and general platform for other application software’s development.

A new marine halacarid species of the genus Agauopsis Viets, 1927 (Acari: Halacaridae) is recorded from Jeju Island, Korea. Agauopsis tetrasetosa n. sp. belongs to the microrhyncha group in sharing one ventral and three ventromedial spines on tibia of leg I, of which two ventromedial ones are adjacent to each other, with its 20 congeneric members. Agauopsis tetrasetosa n. sp. is most similar to A. miliaris Bartsch, 2005 and A. similis Bartsch, 1979 in sharing the similar chaetotaxy of legs I-IV, positions of the second and fourth dorsal setae, and non 'H'- or 'M'-shaped costae on anterior dorsal plate. However, the new species is distinguished from them by four pairs of perigenital setae in female, the relatively anterior location of gland pores on posterior dorsal plate, and three ventral spines on the tibia of leg II. We describe the new species herein, with detailed illustrations under a differential interference contrast microscope. We also make some brief comments on the affinities between the congeneric species of the microrhyncha group and the new species, based on a tabular key to species of the group.

This Study focused on the process of technology transfer for the aircraft development program by the strategic alliance. Especially, this study showed how the learning firms absorb new technology from the foreign leading company. This case study concludes that teachability, asset specificity, relation capital with partner, information sharing system in organization and knowledge base are key factors for absorbing the new technology from the technology leading partner.

HIGHT is an 64-bit block cipher, which is suitable for low power and ultra-light implementation that are used in the network that needs the consideration of security aspects. This paper presents a parallel key scheduler that generates the whitening keys and subkeys simultaneously for both encryption and decryption processes. We construct the reverse LFSR and key generation blocks to generate the keys for decryption process. Then, the new key scheduler is made by sharing the common logics for encryption and decryption processes to minimize the increase in hardware complexity. From the simulation results, the logic size is increased 1.31 times compared to the conventional HIGHT. However, the performance of HIGHT including the proposed key scheduler can be increased by two times compared to the conventional counterpart.

지식경영은 조직의 중요한 자원인 지식을 개발, 수집, 체계화, 이용 및 활용이라는 프로세스를 통해서 지식을 체계적으로 관리하는 것이다. 지식은 조직의 지식자산으로서 조직의 경쟁력을 강화시키는 중요하기 요소이기 때문에 어떻게 조직 내에서 지식공유를 활성화할 것이냐가 조직의 당면과제이다. 지식공유활동은 제약하는 요소를 감안하지 않고 지식공유와 팀 협력을 시도하는 것은 조직의 지식경영문화 증진을 오히려 저해할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 조직 내에서 지식공유활동을 제약하는 문제점을 개인적 측면과 사회적 측면에서 파악하고 효과적인 지식공유도구로서 실행공동체 활용모형을 제안한다. 제안된 실행공동체 활용모형에서는 지식공유활동 저해요소를 극복하고 지식공유활동을 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 또한, 제안된 모형을 적용한 철강회사의 실행공동체 활용 우수사례를 소개한다. 마지막으로 구체적인 사례분석을 통해서 조직 내에서 지식공유를 활성화하기 위한 방법으로 실행공동체의 적용가능성과 효과성을 가늠해본다.

Conventional boost-full-bridge and boost-hybrid-bridge two-stage inverters are widely applied in order to adapt to the wide dc input voltage range of photovoltaic arrays. However, the efficiency of the conventional topology is not fully optimized because additional switching losses are generated in the voltage conversion so that the input voltage rises and then falls. Moreover, the electrolytic capacitors in a dc-link lead to a larger volume combined with increases in both weight and cost. This paper proposes a higher efficiency inverter with time-sharing synchronous modulation. The energy transmission paths, wheeling branches and switching losses for the high-frequency switches are optimized so that the overall efficiency is greatly improved. In this paper, a contrastive analysis of the component losses for the conventional and proposed inverter topologies is carried out in MATLAB. Finally, the high-efficiency under different switching frequencies and different input voltages is verified by a 3 kW prototype.

With device-to-device (D2D) communications, an inactive user terminal can be utilized as a relay node to support multi-hop communication so that connective experience of the cell-edge user as well as the capacity of the whole system can be significantly improved. In this paper, we investigate the spectrum sharing for a cooperative relay assisted D2D communication underlying a cellular network. We formulate a joint relay selection and channel assignment problem to maximize the throughput of the system while guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) requirements of cellular users (CUs) and D2D users (DUs). By exploiting coalition formation game theory, we propose two algorithms to solve the problem. The first algorithm is designed based on merge and split rules while the second one is developed based on single user's movement. Both of them are proved to be stable and convergent. Simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

In the rapidly changing business environment, knowledge has been recognized as a core asset for sustaining an organization's competitive advantage. In addition, knowledge sharing is one of the key elements of knowledge management, emphasizing external knowledge sharing beyond initial internal knowledge sharing. However, while knowledge management research emphasizes knowledge sharing, which is a positive aspect, research on preventing knowledge leakage that can have negative consequences is relatively lacking. Companies have tried to minimize the negative effects of knowledge management but many knowledge leakage accidents are still occurring. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effects of external factors based on deterrence theory and internal factors based on self-determination theory on knowledge leakage intention focusing on tacit knowledge. The results of the empirical analysis of 100 data sets collected through a scenario-based survey show that certainty of sanctions, social disapproval, and competence are found to have a significant effect on reducing tacit knowledge leakage intention. Furthermore, informal sanctions have a greater impact on tacit knowledge leakage intention than formal sanctions and external factors have a greater effect on tacit knowledge leakage intention than internal factors.

The aim of this study was to investigate why people voluntarily contribute knowledge to others, primarily strangers, in the electronic network of practice for job examination expected potential competing. This paper is organized as follows. First, we introduce the electronic network of practice which is the knowledge sharing community for job examination, and discuss the key issues for understanding knowledge sharing in these networks on the basis of individual motivations, relational capital, sense of community, and sense of rivalry to develop a research model for this study. To test the proposed research model, we adopted the survey method for data collection, and examined our hypotheses by applying the multiple regression analysis method to the collected data. Our unit of analysis was the individual. The findings of this study show that the intention of knowledge sharing is influenced by the reputation and the enjoy helping as the factors of individual motivations, by the reciprocity as the factor of relational capital, and by a sense of rivalry as a psychological factor. Lastly, contributions of this study and future research opportunities are also discussed.
