  • It has passed 10 years to enact 'Act on Special Measures for the Promotion of Venture Businesses.' With 10 years' data book, we study to find the correlation between venture investment and start-up. According to correlation analysis, we find that venture investment and start-up are strong and positive-related, and the increment of investment can contribute to the increment of start-up.

  • Fund-raising is critical to start-up and early stage company. We try to analyse a status of fund-raising in start-up and early stage company, and a correlation between angel investment and start-up. With last 10 years' data sheets, we find that angel investment is not related with start-up fund raising.

  • We develop a model to predict typhoons in Korea. We collect data for typhoons and classify those depending on the severity level. Following a Bayesian approach, we develop a model that explains the relationship between different levels of typhoons. Through the analysis of the model, we can predict the rate of typhoons, the probability of approaching Korean peninsular, and the probability of striking Korean peninsular. We show that the uncertainty for the occurrence of various types of typhoons reduces dramatically by adaptively updating model parameters as we acquire data.

  • In this study we carry out usability evaluation for adjustable electric beds for home care that are used the most by the elderly, and examines dissatisfaction of users. In this sense, we performed an interview with stakeholders including bed users, developers and suppliers to develop usability evaluation contents. In addition, we carried out feasibility and reliability study over evaluation form through usability assessment, and developed usability evaluation indicator.

  • The objective of this study is to provide improved methodology based on the IPA method. One case studies are solved by the proposed method. this study present the method that give value to use SN(Signal-to-Noise) ratio in IPA. A case study of lecture satisfaction are solved by the proposed method and the existing method. Also, the result is compared with the existing method using Mean and the proposed method using SN ratio.

  • Even if there are no causing factors such as car crash and road works, traffic congestion come from traffic growth on the road. In this case, estimation of traffic flow helps find the solution of traffic congestion problem. In this paper, we present a optimization model which used on traffic equilibrium problem and studied the problem of inverting shortest path sets for complex traffic system. And we also develop pivotal decomposition algorithm for reliability function of complex traffic system. Several examples are illustrated.

  • We develop a model to predict traffic accidents in Korea. In contrast to the classical approach that mainly uses regression analysis, Bayesian approach is adopted. A dependent model that incorporates the data from different kinds of accidents is introduced. The rate of severe accident can be updated even with no data of the same kind. The data of minor accident that can be obtained frequently is efficiently used to predict the severe accident.
