  • Thus in order to have a better understanding about the KSA(Korean Security association) and to express opinions on its role and security, this paper introduces and discusses about All Japan Security Service Association(AJSSA), which is the prototype of the KSA. There are several positive aspects to consider the introduction of, when these two associations are compared: the traffic security, a supporting member, ex-high-ranking police executive directors practically run AJSSA. These are to enhance financial ability and to promote better relationship with police. KSA needs to improve such relationship and to diversify activities as well. In addition, not just dismissing their duty by giving them the license, AJSSA provides several educations to revitalize the related people so that they can deal in effective and productive services. In another words, JSA perceives it is indispensable to educate the relevant people in the business. In contrast, it is reality that KSA has not put much emphasis on educations. Concisely, the most prompt issue is it should be more beneficial to its members by strengthening itself. Not simply following the example of foreign cases, but putting diverse efforts, KSA can make it substantial and stabilize future private security market in a long term.

  • In order to take measures for solving conflicts between the relevant Ministries of Korean government such as MOMAF(Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) and MAF(Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) and the relevant industry circles such as KSA(Korea Swine Association) and KODA(Korea Ocean Dumping Association) regarding the prohibition of ocean dumping of livestock excreta wastes from land, the present conditions of marine disposal of livestock excreta wastes and the standpoints of MOMAF, MAF, KSA and KODA were reviewed in Korea. As measures for solving the conflicts, the followings were proposed; A prior examination into the possibility of the treatment and/or disposal on shore for the total amount of livestock excreta wastes in Korea, measures for solving civil appeals against the problems arising from the treatment and/or disposal on shore of livestock excreta wastes, a prior examination into the possibility of the execution of the amendments to the relevant rules and regulations of Korean marine pollution prevention law for the prohibition of ocean dumping of livestock excreta wastes, measures for supporting the relevant industry circles such as KSA and KODA which were expected to suffer from the prohibition of ocean dumping, and an overall review of the national system for ocean dumping of terrestrial wastes in nationwide level.

  • Background: The aim of this study was to outline the trend in the incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) in the city of Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), for comparison with previously published national CRC data. Materials and Methods: A retrospective data analysis was performed on all cases of CRC diagnosed between January 2000 and December 2006 amongst Saudi patients in Jeddah using data retrieved from the Saudi Cancer Registry (SCR). Descriptive analysis was performed and results were compared to national CRC data from the SCR. Results: In Jeddah, 644 cases of CRC were diagnosed during the time period, accounting for 15% of all CRC cases in KSA. Males were more commonly affected than females (58% versus 42%). The male preponderance of CRC was similar to that observed at a national level. In Jeddah, the incidence was higher among those >45 years (77.0%), and the mean age at diagnosis was 57 years. At diagnosis, 10% of patients presented with localized disease; 25% presented with distant metastasis and the remaining patients had various stages of regional extension. Adenocarcinomas accounted for 72% of cases. Statistical analysis did not reveal any clinically significant differences between cases diagnosed in Jeddah and those diagnosed throughout KSA. Conclusions: The increased trend in the incidence of CRC in Jeddah between 2000 and 2006 mirrors the recent trend in KSA. This highlights the magnitude of this healthcare hazard, not only in Jeddah, but also across the country and supports the need for preventive measures and early detection of the disease.

  • Companies struggle to make their best products with high quality and service at a competitive price in global markets. However, customer needs and requirements keep changing with a variety of situations. Companies that face the changes can not stay the same and make an effort to adapt themselves to new circumstances. They would probably review the overall management system that is currently implementing to improve management efficiency. Among other things, quality might be considered to be a crucial element if they are manufacturing industries to be sustained in global markets. KSA (Korean Standards Association) is a government-affiliated organization under the Ministry of Trade, Infrastructure, and Energy. It is a Korean standards provider for quality and service industry. KSA confers national commendations for organizations, quality circles, artisans, QCEC (Quality Competitive Excellent Company), and the most honorable KNQA (Korean National Quality Award) every year. KSA established KNQA on the basis of Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award, Deming Prize, and European Quality Award. Research on quality awards shows that there are many similarities in the framework. Although KSA summarizes two factors for 13 evaluation indicators in the quality competitive excellent model of QCEC, the categorization is ambiguous to explain them according to earlier studies. We performed a deep analysis of foreign quality awards and background for KNQA and QCEC. We conducted a content analysis of KNQA and QCEC and matched evaluation items that were closely related. We proposed a quality competitiveness model with three factors, Technology, System, and Tools, summarizing 13 evaluation indicators in QCEC. Based on audit data for six years from 2012 to 2017 we carried out a confirmatory factor analysis for the proposed model by examining the model validity and fitness.

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effects of tobacco smoking on the dorsum of the tongue and buccal epithelium. Methodology: This case control cross-sectional study was conducted with 174 smoking and non-smoking volunteers living in the city of Hail, Northern KSA. Cytological Materials were obtained from buccal mucosa and dorsum of the tongue, and assessed using cytopathological methods. Results: In buccal smears, cytological atypia was observed in 17 out of 101 (16.8%) smoker cases but only 3/73(4.1%) of the controls. For cytological atypia in buccal and tongue smears, the adjusted odd ratio (OR) and the 95% confidence interval (CI) were found to be 4.7 (1.3-16.8), P < 0.016)) and 4.3 (0.93- 20.2), P <0.06)), respectively, in the two sites. Conclusion: Tobacco smoking is a major risk factor for occurrence of cytological atypia, which might subsequently develop into oral precancerous and cancerous lesions. Oral exfoliative cytology is an easy and cheap non-invasive procedure which appears highly suitable for screening populations at risk of developing oral cancer.
