  • This paper presents results of research performed to identify optimum mix proportions for production of flowable fill with high volume fly ash content. The fly ash used in this study met the requirements of KS L 5405 and ASTM C 618 for Class F material. Tests were carried out on concrete designed to have 10 ~ 15kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ compressive strength at the 28-day age with fly ash contents of approximately 280kg/㎥. Slump was held at 25$\pm$1cm for all mixtures produced compressive strengths at 28 days were found to range from 5.03 to 13.69kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • As the ministry of construction and transportation established quality standards for recycled aggregate in August, 2005, the consumption of recycled aggregates is expected to be increased in construction fields in the future. Thus the relations between compressive strength of general concretes and that of recycled aggregate concretes which are applied to actual structures are attempted to investigate through non-destruction testing method. Presently Schmitt-Hammer test method is that concrete compressive strength is predicted by measuring surface hardness of concretes, and is well known as the most convenient and simply operated method among many non-destruction testing methods. In this study, cylinder specimen and mock-up were constructed using recycled aggregate concretes made by the first class recycled coarse aggregates and recycled fine aggregates specified in KS F 2573 (recycled aggregate for concrete), and compressive strength of hardened concrete of middle ages was evaluated.

헬리컬기어의 새로운 냉간압출법과 상계해석에 관한 연구 (A New Cold Extrusion Process of Helical Gear and its Upper Bound Analysis)

  • A new helical gear extrusion process was proposed and its numerical solution program based on the upper bound method was developed. In the analysis the involute curve was used as a shape of die and the upper bound method was used to calculate energy dissipation rate. By this method the power requirement and optimum conditions necessary for extruding helical gear were successfully calculated. These numerical solutions were in good agreement with experimental data. In the experiment, die life was greatly improved compared with that of Samanta process and 4 .approx. 5 class helical gear of KS standard for automobile transmission was successfully manufactured.

  • The electrical breakdown characteristics of the synthetic fluids No.2 of KS class VII used for insulating and cooling the materials for the ignition coil are studied. Also, Benzotriazole(BTA) as the streaming electrification suppressant additive is added to the oil, and the change of electrical properties due to different BTA concentration is investigated. To investigate the electrical characteristics, the breakdown strength of each specimen by an experiment for AC breakdown are analyzed. The breakdown strength of specimen by adding BTA is higher than virgin specimen in low e region, but lower than that in high region because of melting BTA. It is considered that the effective content of BTA as charge suppressant additive is about 10[ppm] from the results of AC breakdown.

  • A study has been carried out electrical conduction properties of synthetic fluids No. 2 of KS class VII used for insulating and cooling the power device. BTA(Benzotrizole) as the streaming electrification suppressant additive is added to the oil, and the change of physical and electrical properties due to different BTA concentration is investgated. From the result of FTIR spectrum, it is confirmed that the absorpption peak in wavenumber 3400-3450[cm$\sub$-1/] is smaller and disappered by adding BTA to the oil. It is considered that the effective content of BTA is about 10[ppm] from the result of electrical conduction experiment.

경년열화 기간에 따른 원자력발전소용 비안전등급 케이블의 연소특성 분석 (Combustion Characteristics Analysis of a Non-class 1E Cable for Nuclear Power Plants according to Aging Period)

  • In this study, combustion and smoke release characteristics of a non-class 1E cable for nuclear power plants were investigated according to aging period. The aging was reproduced through an accelerated aging method for interval of 10 years :10, 20, 30 and 40 year, which was applied the Arrhenius equation. The cable was subjected to accelerated aging. In order to understand combustion and smoke release characteristics, the cone calorimeter test was performed according to the standard code of KS F ISO 5660-1. Heat release rate, mass loss rate, average rate of heat emission and smoke production rate were examined through cone calorimeter test. Fire performance index, fire growth index and smoke factor were derived from test results for the comparison of quantitative fire risk. When comparing the fire performance index and the fire growth index, the early fire risk tends to decrease as aging progresses, which might be attributed from the fact that the volatile substances of cables were evaporated. However, when comparing the heat release rate, average rate of heat emission and mass loss rate, which represent the mid and late periods of the fire risk, the values of accelerated aging cables were much higher than those of non-aged cable, which signifies the unstable formation of the char layer resulted in the change in the performance of flame retardants. In addition, the results from the smoke characteristics show that the accelerated aging cables were lager than the non-aged cables in terms of overall fire risk. These results can be used as baseline data when assessing fire risk of cables and establishing fire safety code for nuclear power plants.

동적자소분할과 신경망을 이용한 인쇄체 한글 문자인식기에 관한 연구 (A Study on Printed Hangeul Recognition with Dynamic Jaso Segmentation and Neural Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 한글의 동적자소분할 방법과 자소분할 결과 얻어진 가변분할 망눈으로부터 특징벡터를 추출해 신경망에 입력함으로써 문자를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 먼저, 각 문자에서 4방향 기여도와 $8\pm8$망눈을 사용하여 256차원의 특징벡터를 구한 후, 신경망에 의해 한글을 6형식으로 분류한다. 분류된 결과를 바탕으로 모음의 통계적인 위치정보와 문자의 구조적인 정보를 이용하여 각 문자를 자소 단위로 분할한다. 분할된 자소의 크기에 따라 가변적인 크기를 갖는 망눈을 구성하고 특징벡터를 추출해 자소인식 신경망에 입력함으로써 문자인식을 행한다. 4개의 서체(3개의 서체는 학습, 1개는 인식실험), KS C 5601내의 2350자의 문자를 대상으로 실험한 결과 학습에 사용된 서체에 대해서는 97%이상, 나머지 한 서체에 대해서는 94% 이상의 인식률을 나타내 제안된 방법의 유효성을 보였다.

Wide Spectrum of Inhibitory Effects of Sertraline on Cardiac Ion Channels

  • Sertraline is a commonly used antidepressant of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) class. In these experiments, we have used the whole cell patch clamp technique to examine the effects of sertraline on the major cardiac ion channels expressed in HEK293 cells and the native voltage-gated $Ca^{2+}$ channels in rat ventricular myocytes. According to the results, sertraline is a potent blocker of cardiac $K^+$ channels, such as hERG, $I_{Ks}$ and $I_{K1}$. The rank order of inhibitory potency was hERG > $I_{K1}$ > $I_{Ks}$ with $IC_{50}$ values of 0.7, 10.5, and 15.2 ${\mu}M$, respectively. In addition to $K^+$ channels, sertraline also inhibited $I_{Na}$ and $I_{Ca}$, and the $IC_{50}$ values are 6.1 and 2.6 ${\mu}M$, respectively. Modification of these ion channels by sertraline could induce changes of the cardiac action potential duration and QT interval, and might result in cardiac arrhythmia.

Elevated RalA activity in the hippocampus of PI3Kγ knock-out mice lacking NMDAR-dependent long-term depression

  • Phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) play key roles in synaptic plasticity and cognitive functions in the brain. We recently found that genetic deletion of $PI3K{\gamma}$, the only known member of class IB PI3Ks, results in impaired N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor-dependent long-term depression (NMDAR-LTD) in the hippocampus. The activity of RalA, a small GTP-binding protein, increases following NMDAR-LTD inducing stimuli, and this increase in RalA activity is essential for inducing NMDAR-LTD. We found that RalA activity increased significantly in $PI3K{\gamma}$ knockout mice. Furthermore, NMDAR-LTD-inducing stimuli did not increase RalA activity in $PI3K{\gamma}$ knockout mice. These results suggest that constitutively increased RalA activity occludes further increases in RalA activity during induction of LTD, causing impaired NMDAR-LTD. We propose that $PI3K{\gamma}$ regulates the activity of RalA, which is one of the molecular mechanisms inducing NMDAR-dependent LTD.

Autogenous mill을 이용(利用)한 순환골재(順換骨材) 생산(生産) 공정(工程) 개발(開發) (Development of Recycled Aggregate Producing Circuit Using Autogenous mill)

  • 건설폐기물 발생량이 매년 급격히 증가함에 따라 건설폐기물 처리의 중요성이 점차 심화되고 있으며, 그 중에서도 가장 많은 비중을 차지하고 있는 폐콘크리트의 처리에 가장 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 현재 폐콘크리트는 단순 파쇄를 통해 매움재나 채움재 등의 저급한 용도의 순환골재로 재활용되고 있다. 그러나 부족한 구조용 골재 수급문제를 해결하고 자원의 효율적인 활용을 위해서, 천연골재를 대체하여 구조용 골재로 사용될 수 있는 고품질의 순환골재 생산이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 autogenous mill과 가열처리 방법을 이용하여 고품질 순환골재 생산 공정을 개발하였다. 개발된 공정을 이용하여 약 30분간 파분쇄과정을 통해 생산된 순환골재의 품질은 밀도 $2.5\;g/cm^3$이상, 흡수율 3% 이하로 KS F 2573의 1종 굵은 순환골재 품질 기준을 만족하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 고품질의 순환골재 생산을 위한 연속공정을 개발하였다.
