Objectives : KIOM(Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine) built up korean medical paper database and services it through information portal OASIS. The database are updated about 1,600 papers and 48,000 references annually. Because lots of manpower and time are needed to update database, it is very important to raise up efficiency and quality of it. Methods : In this paper, we implemented web based database building system utilizing pre-built OASIS' database to improve the working process, data quality and ease of management. Results : First we designed and implemented web based system to input bibliography of the paper efficiently. It raised efficiency using OASIS' paper and reference database. Second we improved the refining process using web based system to raise up data quality. And third we developed the manager functions of web based system to control and check the working process. Conclusions : If we add korean medical dictionary and link outside paper database in the future, we hope that work efficiency and data quality will be raised more. And because the database schema of OASIS system and developed system are different, we are implementing the data transformation system.

Objectives: Current information & communication technology is advancing very rapidly and the ripple effects are spreading all over society traditional Korean medicine (TKM) is no exception. We draw up afuture plan and target system's architecture of KIOM's OASIS to follow the information change and reinforce the supporting infra for TKM research. Methods: First, we analyzed the information circumstances of western and eastern medicine, both overseas and domestic, especially investigating the detailed changes domestically. Second, we grasped the present conditions of OASIS and compared it with other information portals. Finally, we drew a future plan and system architecture from the analysis results. Results: First, the information status of western medicine is much more advanced than TKM's, and overseas information circumstances are likewise more developed than domestics. Second, we found that OASIS is performing the central research infra role well in TKM. Finally we designed an information system architecture which is composed of an infra layer, an application layer and a service layer. Conclusion: We must integrate information materials such as literature, research manpower, facilities and standards to make TKM's knowledge portal successful. In detail, we have to make TKM's information classification code, build up the electronic TKM library and offer complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) trends.

Objectives : We studied the ISP(information strategy plan) of oasis spanning 5 years. From this study we aimed at total road map to upgrade the service systematically and to carry out the related projects. If we do it as road map, oasis will be the core infra service contributing to the improvement of TKM(traditional korean medicine) research capability. Methods : We carried out 3 step ISP method composed of environmental analysis, current status analysis and future plan. We used paper, report and trend analysis document as base materials and did the survey to get opinions from users and TKM experts. We limited this study to drawing the conceptual design of oasis. Results : From environmental analysis we knew that China and USA built up the largest TM databases. We did the survey to get the activation ways of oasis. And we did the benchmarking on the advanced services through current status analysis. Finally we determined 'maximize the research value based the open TKM knowledge infra' as oasis' vision. And we designed oasis' future system which is composed of service layer, application layer and contents layer. Conclusion : First TKM related documents, research materials, researcher information and standards are merged to elevate the TKM information level. Concretely large scale TKM information infra project such as TKM information classification code development, TKM library network building and CAM research information offering are carried out at the same time.

본 논문에서는 국내에서 유일하게 한의학 학술논문 및 한의학 연구정보를 제공하는 오아시스(Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System)를 대상으로 국가에서 정한 [웹 접근성 국가표준]을 어느 정도 반영하고 있는지 평가해 보고, 웹 접근 취약성을 분석하여 해결방법을 모색하였다. 웹 접근성 평가항목으로는 웹 콘텐츠를 쉽게 인식할 수 있는 정도를 평가하는 인식의 용이성(Perceivable), 웹 콘텐츠를 누구나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는지를 평가하는 운용의 용이성(Operable), 콘텐츠 구성에 대해 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 제어하고 있는지를 평가요소로 하는 이해의 용이성(Understandable), 웹브라우저의 종류나 버전에 관계없이 정상적으로 동작하는지를 평가하는 기술의 진보성(Robust)으로 구분하여 평가하였다. 평가된 결과를 기준으로 문제점을 분석하고 이를 토대로 장애인의 웹 접근성을 고려한 오아시스를 설계하고 구현하였다. 웹 취약성을 수정하여 재구축한 오아시스는 한의학 연구를 하는 청각, 시각 장애인들에게 일반인들과 동등한 웹 접근 기회를 부여해 줌으로써 장애인들의 한의학 지식습득에 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

많은 검색엔진의 개발과 웹 기술의 발전으로 기존의 키워드 검색에서 검색어에 의미를 부여하는 시맨틱 검색이 출현하게 되었다. 이런 흐름에 맞추어 한국한의학연구원에서 제공하는 한의학술논문시스템(오아시스)의 개선도 필요하게 되었다. 그리하여 오아시스를 사용해 본 경험이 있는 회원을 대상으로 소속이나 지위, 경력에 대한 인구사회학적 분석과 오아시스의 편리성 및 제공되는 논문의 가치에 대해 분석하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 오아시스의 개선해야 할 방향으로 한의학연구를 위해 분야별 중요도를 조사하였다. 설문의 조사를 통해 얻은 결과, 한자 위주의 검색어에 대한 의미를 파악할 수 있는 자동화검색이 필요하며 키워드 검색방식을 탈피하고 동음이의어를 판별할 수 있는 전거시스템의 도입이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 참고문헌 인용지수 정보와 관련기관의 임상정보와의 연계 필요성 및 Open API를 이용한 해외 주요 사이트와의 연계검색이 필요하다는 결론을 얻었다. 오아시스는 한의학술논문을 서비스하는 국내 유일의 사이트인 만큼 한의계의 요구를 충분히 분석하고 검색의 문제점을 보완한다면 한의학발전의 중추적인 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Objectives : This study aimed to build up information system for the 25 cases of Korean Medicine (KM) prescriptions which are used mostly often in clinic and aimed to offer information about its effect and safety to public and researcher. Methods : We used KM prescription data-bank which came from 'The Bio-informatics for herbal formula' and 'The evidence based medicine for herbal formula' projects of Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) Results : First, we analyzed prescription data and categorized 7 classes, then we built up prescription database based on it. Second, we designed and developed user functions of prescription information system, then we link it to OASIS. Third, we developed adminstration system to manage the prescription data. Conclusions : From this study we hope that KM prescription information system will be used for fusion research based on KM. Because the implemented system is linked to OASIS, we expect it will be widely used.

Objectives: This study aimed to make preliminary data through the bibliometric analysis of journals registered by national research foundations of Korea for the improvement of traditional Korean medical (TKM) journals. Methods: We collected 4,396 articles from the OASIS database, which is composed of articles published by TKM societies and institutes. First, we analyzed the 'authors by year', 'average authors per article', 'articles by institute' and 'authors by institute' to get the author-related conditions. Second, we analyzed the 'reference type', 'cited times', 'IF with self citation' and 'IF without self citation' to get the citation condition. Results: First, we found that the journal order of total authors was KAOOMP (2362), KOMS (1189), and KAMS (967), and of average authors per article was KAMS (5.29), KOIMS (5.25), and KOMS (4.75). Second, we learned that the journal order of occupied article ratio by high rank institutes was SCMS (92.4%), MAS (90.03%), and KOPS (87.22%) and of occupied author ratio by high rank institutes was KOPMS (96.55%), MAS (95.19%), and SCMS (93.85%). Third, we analyzed the most highly cited reference type by journals and we found that OMCS was books, SCMS was oriental medical journals and the other 10 journals were not oriental medical journals. Finally, we observed that the journal order of self citation ratio was SCMS (16.79%), KMAS (11.77%), and OOGS (11.67%) and also that the IF order was KAMS (0.675), OOGS (0.546), and KAOH (0.430). Conclusions: Through this study we found that TKM research leans too much toward on oriental medical universities, so we insist that TKM R&D institutes must be expanded. We also found that the self citation ratio was high in TKM journals, so the ratio must be decreased to improve the quality of the TKM journals.

Oriental medicine statistics are essential in research planning, research evaluation, and policy decision based on objective data. However, integrated administration of such statistics is not presently possible in the oriental medicine field, which has been slow in incorporating information communication technology. In an effort to address this problem, the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM) developed an oriental medicine statistical system in 2009, and the system has been offered in the traditional medicine information portal of OASIS. However, according to a 2010 survey targeting OASIS users, those surveys reported that needs for a system where various statistical data can be extracted via an interactive approach to multidimensional data. As a result of an analysis of the functions of the existing system, it was found that it is necessary to array and arithmetically analyze Stats Value, Drill Up & Drill Down, and Pivot. To this end, the existing DB schema should be redesigned. Based on our analysis result, we redesigned the database into a structure that is applicable to the reverse pivot algorithm. We used J2EE/JSP and a Flex framework to design and develop an oriental medicine statistical system that can provide multidimensional statistical data. Considering that the improved oriental medicine statistical system is planned to be offered by OASIS of KIOM, utilization and value of oriental medicine statistical data are expected to be enhanced.

Objectives To analyze the latest trend through the domestic studies of obesity and support further studies and clinical trials. Methods The theses were searched through KIOM OASIS (http://oasis.kiom.re.kr), The Journal of Society of Korean Medicine for Obesity Research, The Journal of Korean Medicine Rehabilitation. Then, domestic studies were gathered and classified by year, journal and type. Results 92 theses were included. The theses were constantly published every year. According to the analyzing by journals, the most published journal was The Journal of Society of Korean Medicine for Obesity Research. Through the analysis of type, 19 clinical studies and 11 case reports were found. The result of 43 theses analyzing survey and examination numerical value, the study of relationship between obesity and body index is the most published. Among 19 literary studies, 11 studies were searched domestic thesis, 2 studies were searched foreign thesis, 5 studies were searched domestic and foreign thesis simultaneously. Conclusions We need to effort to supplement the statistical error and the topic needs to be diverse. The sustainable research of The human body-oriented obesity studies is required.

Objectives : To analyze the latest study trend on effect of herbal medicine treatment for Colorectal Cancer in South Korea. Methods : The theses about colorectal cancer(from 1th January 2000 to 6th August 2016) were searched from National Assembly Library, KIOM OASIS, and National Digital Science Library. Results : 54 theses were analyzed from 87 studies. They were classified by the type of research; experimental theses and case report. The number of experimental theses is 48 and case report is 6. And, they were classified by the topic of research; Single herb, Herbal decoction, oriental foods and Pharmacopuncture, the number of theses about single herb is 29, herbal decoction is 14, oriental foods is 8 and Pharmacopuncture is 3. Rhus Verniciflua(乾漆), Beakduong-tang(白頭翁湯), Wild Ginseng Pharmacopuncture is the most commonly used herb in our research. Conclusion : There were many attempts to develop the way to cure colorectal cancer using korean herbs, and some meaningful results were reported. However, more clinical researches based on human body and more scientifically designed clinical studies are required to prove the effect on colorectal cancer.
